Which are the primary differences between Pokemon Sword and Shield
theSLAYER replied to Chaostic's topic in Generation 8
Some encounters are different (some in the grass or overworld are different, you can check serebii) Some max raids are different (some max raids encounters are different from their counterparts, but they can be hosted for the other version, luckily. Check serebii) Some Gyms are different: Fighting(SW)/Ghost(SH) for Stow-on-Side, and Rock(SW)/Ice(SH) for Circhester Some NPCs are different: Gym trainers, Gym Leaders, Sordward and Shielbert (they both appear in the story, but who you battle against changes) Some clothes are obtained differently (ultimately you can get all the clothes, but because gym leaders are different, this shifts around what you'll receive from completing the challenge, and what you have to buy) I think this covers it? -
PKHeX checks whether the save is a VC save. PKHeX doesn't flag illegal on non-VC saves (presumably due to Stadium 2 connection) but does flag illegal for VC saves. You mentioned earlier you saw the flag. As such, you're on a VC save, and those mons having those moves would make them illegal.

Problems with backing up saves in checkpoint
theSLAYER replied to PokeTy20's topic in Saves - Editing Help
I remember that thread. Ultimately it doesn't look like the solution was typed out. (I mean I did mention redoing the hack would be the nuclear option that should solve it, but I'm uncertain if OP did it in the end, or found another solution) @GushingAura ultimately, how did you solve the problem? -
It appears that code doesn't work for a gen 7 save presently. Any transferred mon can be either Square Shiny or Star Shiny.

Problems with backing up saves in checkpoint
theSLAYER replied to PokeTy20's topic in Saves - Editing Help
Doubt that’s the issue. The save isn’t stored on the cart. tho, I think the cloud symbol might be the symbol for the game has an update. Try to ensure firmware versions and game versions are the same for OFW and CFW. It is not known what causes the desync, but I suspect it’s one of those. No reason for desyncs to “suddenly spontaneously occur”. You would think the user did something to cause difference in file versions, hence a desync -

I've dealt with many, many save requests for Citra. (I mean, didn't you think it was weird I knew that you were using Citra, despite you never saying it until I asked? ) From what people posted, the occasional freezes blocking story progression, continues to occur, until post game. As I have made my points abundantly clear, I would not provide you a save Free feel to check our site to see if there's any save you can use, or scour the internet for a beginner save. Others may also free feel to help you (if they don't mind being barraged constantly for new saves). Anyhow, if people want to help you, they can PM you. Locking thread. (just another friendly warning: do not create another thread about this, nor PM me regarding this. people who wanna help, will help) -
If PKHeX puts the warning sign, then it isn't legal. For example (referring to your gen 2 scenario) if I'm not mistaken, Lugia only gets Aeroblast by being caught in Silver, and Ho-Oh only gets Sacred Fire by being caught in Gold. [even if the above point is wrong, I know Crystal Lugia and Ho-Oh DOES NOT have their signature moves] Thus, if they have data to suggest they were caught in Crystal (the time of day and route data, for example), they can never legitimately have those moves. As such, PKHeX is right: they ARE illegal. [For carts, they could relearn those moves by being transferred to Stadium 2 and using Lance's relearner, but that isn't an option on VC] Honestly, this is more of a ethics question than an legality question. Ethically, for some individuals, some mons bred from a cheated mon, is also cheated, due to it's stats being affected. Legally, the stats bred would be the same as having a non-modified parent. Can't be distinguished.

Problems with backing up saves in checkpoint
theSLAYER replied to PokeTy20's topic in Saves - Editing Help
Your OFW and CFW desynced. I don't know what causes it to happen (maybe game updates, FW updates etc), but basically you're no longer able to use Checkpoint on CFW to dump the save in your OFW. To also confirm what I said, launch the game in CFW. You should see the state it is in should be similar to what you have been dumping. -

theSLAYER replied to gamer rockz's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
Then I will put it up front: sadly, there is no real point in giving you a save file. There will be constant freezes through the main story, and you'll always need a slightly advanced save. Get the game and a 3DS. If you can't do that, watch a play through on youtube. Also, I'm giving you a warning this one time, don't multipost. Any new information, add it to your latest unanswered post. -

Problems with backing up saves in checkpoint
theSLAYER replied to PokeTy20's topic in Saves - Editing Help
@PokeTy20 no need to keep submitting the same thread over and over. Your previous one was approved and moved. I merged your new thread into this one. Any other new information, just post in this one. Are you trying to backup a save from OFW, using Checkpoint in CFW? -
.PID=$shiny0 only works for Gen 8 saves, and if a mon isn't already shiny. If it was shiny before you used the code, use .PID=$rand to randomize the PID. Should remove the shinies.

This tutorial actually teaches you so: It has pictures to guide you along, in case you prefer something visual.

Transferring my Legit Gen 1 Pokemon to Pokemon Bank
theSLAYER replied to Allegedly137's topic in Saves - Files and Requests
You can place the save directly into your VC game. As far as I'm aware, they have yet to ban people for doing this kind of save manipulation. (If anything, they ban the 3DS for a) piracy detected or b) CFW on 3DS detected) Would I recommend it, no. There's no real point, since any mon as can manipulated via a bunch of glitches, tho I do see that some people feel emotional value and wanna transfer it up. I mean, it would certainly be better to bring a non-CFW 3DS online, to prevent your CFW 3DS from being banned, but presently if your CFW (presumably LUMA) is updated, it appears you can bring it online just fine (as long as you don't have piracy and other crazy stuff on it). I've been using my hacked 3DS for Pokémon Bank, haven't been banned yet. Well, whatever you choose to do, at your own risk -

Do Pokemon still have their gen6 OT memories?
theSLAYER replied to Farfetchd's topic in Generation 8
I've had a conversation relating to this: So, I do not know what happens if a mon goes to Gen 7 first from Gen 6, But, mons that Gen 6 - > Bank -> HOME -> SWSH keeps their OT memories. I can't be sure, but I think they're wiped. You can export the mon's file in PKHeX for a Gen 6 -> Gen 7 transfer and check. -
I appreciate your efforts for this translation! Also, it reads like a scam e-mail XD All that is missing is to send $1000 to Bill to validate the transaction, so that he can send the Celebi over ><

Looks okay to me: For Aipom, Not that this check matters, since Aipom can be normal and rare tree spawn. Next, for Heracross, Referring to previous image above, rare tree is possible for that Route.

As per usual, events, including wild area news, is updated manually, and thus has to be added before PKHeX is released. If you check the date, this version of PKHeX came out before wild area news was released. Thus..

First Time Checkpoint User - Have I cocked up?
theSLAYER replied to Chinapiggy's topic in Saves - Editing Help
This is what you need to find out: 1. Can said save, the one presently on your SD card, be opened by PKHeX? 2. If it could, are you sure it's named "main" (no extensions), AND nothing else is in the same folder? Anyhow, read: https://projectpokemon.org/tutorials/save-editing/managing-3ds-saves/troubleshooting-corrupt-saves-r92/ -
@Zan I don't have real experience dealing with ranch saves, aside for pulling out some of the event mons. (and besides, I don't remember what I did too) I probably used this. You should familiarize yourself with it and give it a try. (Also, it looks like the data is encrypted, so it won't be a simple hex searching and pulling drop. You probably need to find a program to decrypt it, if the tool above doesn't help)
