Games: HeartGold and SoulSilver Official Pokémon Art Released
Zafur replied to NewsBot's topic in News Discussion
Is it just me or does Umbreon's hind leg look wonky? O_o Looks like he has two ankle joints instead of one. Seems like Espeon's pose didn't change... -
I also usually get both... Not really sure if I will again. Either way, Soul Silver for sure.
-
I never noticed how "weak" he was until I saw your thread. I've always seen him as popular, and used him successfully in-game, but never bothered checking his base stats. Kinda weird. O_o I'm taking these weekly polls more as a aesthetic thing than a battle one, since in the end, the "better battlers" will always be better. Of course there's exceptions and ways to avoid it like choosing ones in the same tier, but still.

I'm not really a fan of monkeys... The only thing going for infernape here is that it can be pinkish when shiny and that it's faster. I'm a bit attached to my Blaziken, so it's obvious which one I prefer. Bwuh. There are plenty of guys who choose Pokémon for their looks and not their usability in battle. For example, choosing entire teams consisting of dragon types.XP It just happens that the "cool" looking ones are some of the strongest.

I wanted to do that too. They really should've put 20 boxes in Platinum, at least. I just kind of dislike female forms.D: Most of them are made of fail. Well, that's what Ranch is for, I supposeee. I've tried to clear the GTS a few times while I was bored. Get a load of legit/legal Pokémon... It's pretty pointless, but it keeps me busy when I seriously have nothing better to do.
-
I've been wanting a pendant ocarina. >>;;
-
Haha. I'm a bit OCD with things like this so I both put them in National order, and put all their forms... So all three burmies, all 28 unown, two gastrodon, etc... The legends near the end of the list end up piling into Box 18. I don't even think I can manage all the Arceus forms in the remaining space... Plus I kinda like having extra space other than my party.

I might be taking keyboard classes soon. @_@ But I feel like it'll ruin the "magic". IRC? I wanted to know what sparked that comment.;; Since I think it's actually true. Kinda sad... Living in NY and failing to get mews when you're in the center of USA events.

Ugh. I wish I could learn instruments properly. Not really sure why I even want to, as I'm not too musical of a person.xP And to keep this on topic: I own a violin and guitar, both acoustic, although I want to try an electric violin. I also have a keyboard and have owned a few flutes, including panflutes... Probably still have a couple. Lol, Wraith. I love that quote. What thread is it from?
-
Yes, vocals can be considered an instrument... Just like pretty much anything else you find that you can make sound come from. I've seen people play songs on a ruler... And turn carrots into ocarinas.

What Pokemon do you want to see (pre)evoloutions of?
Zafur replied to ImANinja's topic in Pokémon Franchise
Haha, Luvdisc definitely needs SOMETHING. I think it's literally one of the most unused Pokémon ever... It was originally just to get heart scales but now even that job is taken away from it.xP Um... What about Stantler? -
Wasn't there a theory about going fast enough?XP Some people put a clock in a plane and kept one outside it, calibrated them and they found out that there was a slight difference in the milliseconds when they compared them again. ... And isn't the reason we die not because of a gene but because our DNA ages so much through all the replication of cells it is no longer well enough to keep us alive... Or something... Also explains why older people lose eyesight first. And supposedly starving yourself to slow down the replication of cells should theoretically make you live longer. I definitely don't claim to know what I'm talking about right now, since I saw both on TV, and you know you can't believe what you see there.
-
Hmm. Something like both. Technically, if you go back in time, you are changing the future/present. It could be argued that it has already happened, but if you chose not to go back in time the outcome will be different, so it's more of an unnoticeable change. Now who wants to try and kill their great grandfather and see what happens?
-
Chose the both option. I guess I stopped watching the anime before Pikachu got annoying. To me, they're both cute, and they are both about the same in battle if pikachu gets a lightball so I really don't have a preference there... I just love rodents in general. Although, I have to agree that most Pokémon designed to be cute end up... not being cute. But I've been told I have a weird sense of cute, so.

It might also be used by parents to make their kids stop nagging for a real pet for a while.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm not too fond of my artwork either, especially when I see better art. But it just helps to keep me want to improve. I think spending some free time just looking at art helps you with it... Maybe over time, your mind recognizes patterns and you might end up putting it in your next picture without even noticing. I just think that since I've been noticing improvements when I take breaks from drawing for a while and spent it looking at amazing drawings by different artists. And honestly, I keep written stuff hidden. xP I practically have a phobia of letting other people see how much I phail at it, or even myself... Which is why I don't write too much, because then I'd have to face it. >>;;
-
Not being mean. Usually a bit of CC is appreciated by artists, and I saw it definitely was for your written work. I'm just saying maybe if you look up pictures of real people in the pose you're drawing, it might help. If you're not already doing that.

Well, if the "Ladies First" rule implies that different genders have different preset roles, then it can in fact be seen as sexist. Even if you may argue that the roles are in the end equal, it can still be argued that the presence of gender roles in itself is sexist, or else they wouldn't exist in the first place. Some women might take it as them being seen as inferior if the male explicitly said "Ladies first" rather than the man being courteous. Or they may see it as a man taking a jab at flirting with them, which may or may not be welcome. ... I honestly haven't seen it being used at all... Besides maybe for making fun of it. Where I live, if men feel like being nice to the ladies, they simply do it without the mention of the rule.
-
Hmmm. How long have you been drawing? Using some references on anatomy might help. And... If you ever get really good at making plushies, I'm commissioning you. Lol

forums Project Pokemon Creative/Artists Badge
Zafur replied to Okami's topic in Project Pokémon Feedback
I'm actually not too sure. Badges so far seem to revolve exclusively to this site... Moderator, or a contributer to the site. A badge for people who create for others isn't directly related to the well-being of the site, so it's kind of odd. I can see it working if you contributed art to the site somehow... Like the themes... But just for giving things to members doesn't seem to add up with the current pattern. -
Hmm. I suppose I believe in both. Luck is just a chance of something happening, while a miracle is something that can't be explained that happened through higher powers. I believe miracles are possible, since I believe in a god, but I can't think of any that have actually happened... in a recent time frame that doesn't date back before about 2000 years. I don't see this as a one or the other thing... People who don't believe in a higher power will not believe in miracles, and those that do, will in addition to belief in luck. I just don't necessarily believe in "good" or "bad" luck. Everything is up to chance... And unless you can affect those chances, they remain neutral.

Actually, Photoshop Elements... Version 7, I think. And yup, a tablet. They're a bit addicting though. I haven't really touched traditional art in a while... I blame Ctrl+Z. I wasn't really trying on the flames, as it was done after I had already finished the charizard, and figured I should stick in a last minute back ground... Actually, everything after finishing the colouring on the Charizard himself is "last minute". I have a tendency to not try as much on small things I add on afterwards when they already look good enough. Which is why I consider this a "doodle". I feel like it could be much better if I spent more time on the details. I'm surprised you say that the scales look good. They are extremely messy to me. I'll try not to let that encourage my lazyness. I don't blame you for being confused on the lighting. This is my first picture trying to use a more "painted" approach as opposed to minor Cell Shading, and as the background was a last minute addition, I wasn't concentrating on having an illumination from behind, more of from the generic top right cornerish position. Thanks for the opinion on the blue reflection or not, as it wasn't originally going to be there until I remembered reading about using background colours in reflection/highlights and shading. Guess it's not really worth it if I don't keep that in mind during the whole process. And, really, it was never meant to be seen without the outlined layer, or scales, which is why the mouth looks like that. I just coloured underneath the lines then decided to see how it looked without them, expecting much more of a mess. Ugh, I hate how most of the above seems like me giving excuses. O_o Actually, the pencil drawing is an Umbreon. Did you just get confused with the mention of Quilava right under it? I thought the ring on it's head showed through well enough. And the Charmander wasn't intended as a serious drawing, which is why I never cleaned it up. More of a pure for fun thing than actually challenging myself. I'll work on trying to get more actual art rather than just playing around with layers.

Watch online for free? Haha. If you're willing to go that far you might as well just... View the manga online for free also. I was told to read the Twilight series by people who have similar tastes as me, but... It seems largely based on romance, and I'm not too interested in books with little plot besides "two teens meet and fall in love". (With minor exceptions, which usually involve plot.) I know it has to have some sort of story to it besides that, but by the other people I've seen reading it... It makes me suspect it's mostly a romance series, and that the other person was reading it simply because they're a vampire junkie. xP If I'm picky in anything, it'd probably be books, as much as I love to read them. There are also other reasons which make me seem less shallow and wary about reading it simply because it appears to be romance based, but I'd rather not get into those. Speaking of Artemis Fowl... I never finished reading that series...

Yeah, Heracross is more purple than pink... And why would you put zigzagoon's awesomeness against bidoof?D: ... Seaking VS Mudkip? ...
-
Yes, he's definitely green. I remember him being a more of an metallic bright olive green in Stadium 2. And I've known several boys who secretly have pink as their favourite colour. [And girls who hate pink] :wink: The gender roles of blue and pink used to be reversed. Even though technically that's more purple than pink.
