Question came up, whether the terminators were checked as well.. I'm going to check soon. Edit: Right now, it appears the terminators aren't really checked. I've had a few different ones, unnicknamed, retyped the OT, and it passed. odd. Mew's nickname is completely not checked, OT without the terminators still pass.3 points

A new version will be posted once the transfer methods are documented fully and completely implemented. Gen 1 VC -> Gen 7 Gen 6 -> Gen 7 We advise using the official transfer methods; do not assume that using the latest commits is safe. Edge cases need to be accounted for, and different areas of the program need to be updated to correctly handle the new changes.3 points

Hi, 2 incredible discoveries were made today thanks to SciresM and ReiKeima. First, the compatibilty Pokemon Go-Sun/Moon is confirmed by Game ID 34 which gives a mystery icon called "Icon_Sedai_Horohoro" (which can be translated by Walking around). Then Gen II VC are confirmed too by the fact Gameboy icon is valid for 7 games (Blue/Red/Green/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal) from games ID 35to 41 OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Source: Here and Here2 points

The latest Pokémon Bank update has been released. Those who have Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon can receive Mewnium Z, a Z-Crystal exclusive to Mew. Additionally, Pokémon Transporter has been updated to support transferring from Generation 1 virtual console games. Transferring Pokémon from generation 1 virtual console games will come in a separate update for the Pokémon Transporter. In related news, @SciresM did some data-mining and found the text for Pokédex entries, which can be read below: Source View full article2 points

I've just stomped this: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemonrng/comments/5ny1el/scripts_and_guide_to_help_automate_rnging_a_shiny/ It's a program that helps in making a legit savegame that has a shiny jirachi checksum, which is kind of cool. Maybe it's time to just upload all possible shiny jirachis from the bonus disk? It would certainly be a lot easier, and since they are limited... EDIT: I think the 9 only(?) possible shiny jirachis are already here (and they've been for a long time): https://sites.google.com/site/kaphotics/resources Seed: 0x353d, PID: 0xba7df435, Nature: Bashful, HP: 24, AT: 3, DF: 30, SA: 12, SD: 16, SP: 11 Seed: 0xf500, PID: 0xc90e8744, Nature: Careful, HP: 10, AT: 0, DF: 10, SA: 10, SD: 26, SP: 12 Seed: 0xecdd, PID: 0x987ed636, Nature: Docile, HP: 19, AT: 7, DF: 10, SA: 19, SD: 10, SP: 16 Seed: 0x9359, PID: 0xbcfaf2b0, Nature: Hasty, HP: 3, AT: 12, DF: 12, SA: 7, SD: 11, SP: 9 Seed: 0xcf37, PID: 0x7b053548, Nature: Jolly, HP: 11, AT: 8, DF: 6, SA: 14, SD: 5, SP: 20 Seed: 0x7236, PID: 0x2ec1608d, Nature: Lonely, HP: 31, AT: 23, DF: 26, SA: 29, SD: 18, SP: 5 Seed: 0xa030, PID: 0x4633087d, Nature: Naughty, HP: 21, AT: 31, DF: 31, SA: 18, SD: 24, SP: 19 Seed: 0x7360, PID: 0xbf98f1d5, Nature: Serious, HP: 29, AT: 10, DF: 31, SA: 25, SD: 23, SP: 21 Seed: 0x3d60, PID: 0xeb0da543, Nature: Timid, HP: 15, AT: 28, DF: 29, SA: 3, SD: 0, SP: 71 point

Yup, I'll definitely be making the effort to get my own Softboiled Mew after this, despite actually having already transferred my Mew. That's what JKSM is for though!1 point
-
I find it hilarious too. Yup, it just checks Title ID, and Save isn't corrupt, then proceeds to read save. Also, they didn't bother to language lock, too, Since Japanese 3DS shouldn't have English Pokemon, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, it'll be fun to clone a bunch of Mews, get access to unique movesets and all. I purchased my Pokemon Bank subscription right before it came online1 point
-
What's most hilarious is that Poké Transporter is accepting a modified Pokémon Yellow as a save source. It logically follows that it just checks for a matching title ID, and looks at the save contents matching that title, but still hilarious. Of course I reckon it's probably just easier to clone/inject as many Mews as you please, like if you want Gen 1 TM moves of varying natures. Moves like Softboiled and Whirlwind are probably the most interesting as Mew lacks access to Recover or Roar, or similar moves. Actually I think this might be the only way to get that legal Softboiled Mew that the Smogon sets use.1 point

This is fixed in later commits and an upcoming release.1 point

Yes, but I'm just reporting that pkhex is showing it as legal.1 point

In regards to my last post (thought I'd update anyone who was mildly interested), it turns out shiny Mew from Old Sea Map can be traded, but it can't learn Defog + Softboiled (even though that *should* be legal/possible). The shiny events Yveltal and Xerneas however won't go through trade, even though they are legitimate events and even for people who've obtained them themselves, untouched. I'm guessing the game considers these 2 Pokemon "shiny locked". Let me know if anyone has had any contrary experience. As someone else has suggested in this thread, it would seem Nintendo still needs to update/fix certain things, such as Gen 1 VC transfer methods and update legality checkers for both PokeTransfer and Wi-Fi trading.1 point

The latest Bank update breaks some 3rd party installs of the game. For those on Luma receiving that issue, you'd have to make sure you're on the latest version of Luma. No idea for Gateway though.1 point

how long till PkHex gets updated so i can edit pokemon from gen 1-6 cause it still saying they are not legal before pokebank release1 point

Hmm I guess I can contribute in the Mewnium thing? My game and Bank are in Spanish, extracted with PKHeX too. Spanish Mewnium Z.wc71 point

It is changed from WC 4 to WC 0. The Battle Points obtained from Pokebank is also WC 0, and both doesn't get added to the "received list" <- (from PKHeX perspective, not sure how accurate) besides that from server and from bank wonder card looks identical Also it appears that card color changes from Purple card to Gold card1 point

Shiny is retained, just not executed correctly. Expected EVs to not pass. Expected Glitch Mew to not pass. I think that HMs aren't allowed to pass to prevent people from trapping themselves. Sadly it's not chance of HA, but rather all HA. I rather soft reset for HA (or recatch and retransfer Pokemon), then be forced in a all HA situation. Nonetheless, I'm still happy. Managed to get my Event Mew across, got it over as a Shiny as well, and many fun tidbits with playing around. Finally got a Nat dex, and completed that too. Haven't really been playing.. until now.1 point

Pokémon Bank update finally dropped! I got to import my Mew from VC Pokémon Yellow, this required boxing the Mew into the first box. Upon transferring, it arrived with 31/27/31/31/31/31 IVs and a Timid nature. This is pretty great, as apparently Pokémon imported from Gen I are "guaranteed to have 3 perfect IVs, and a random nature". The Mew already have a perfect spread of 15/15/15/15/15 DVs though, so I'm wondering how they picked an attack IV of 27 when it's attack DV would've been 15. I extracted my Mew using PKHex if you wanna examine the bytes. I thought it pretty interesting that it has a generated shiny value too, and a trainer shiny value based on the OT. The GF Mew had a TSV of 1424, I'm interested to see if this is consistent. It might not be shiny locked as a result of this. Oh yeah and it was also nice that the Bank update gave away free Mewnium Z to Sun/Moon game cards, via mystery gift. A few other Gen I Pokémon I imported have a TSV of 2512. They also indeed have 3 perfect IVs and random natures, my Rattata got its HA Hustle, my Sandshrew got its HA Sand Rush, my Caterpie got its HA Run Away, and my Mankey got its HA Defiant. Edit: Turns out SciresM is really on the ball with figuring out how the transfers work, nature is determined by EXP, IVs are purely random, nearly everything always gets its hidden ability, genders are completely random despite how gen II determined them using DVs. Every untrained Mew imported will always be timid, and you can manipulate which nature it will get by getting a specific EXP number. 151 - Mew - 44C0A4DC05E1.pk71 point

According to @SciresM, GameFreak screwed up and they checked shininess against the wrong DV. The check goes like this: ATK == 10 && SPC == 10 && SPD == 10 && DEF & 2 == 21 point

I extracted the Mewnium Z straight from Pokebank Distribution Server: 0004 SM - Item Mewnium Z x1 (ENG).wc7 At this point, not sure if they're going to make any changes (change wonder card ID, or title etc), so keep checking back. [Presently, the one hosted is only in English, but I wonder if it can or will change, based on Pokebank Language and Game language. It'll be good to get submissions from non english bank and non english game, both in unison] Changed my Pokebank language to CHS (but game save still English), Title remained the save, but Pokebank changes your WC Id. Try this one instead, if you don't have a bank subscription: 0000 - Pokémon Bank.wc7 Edit: When you collect the 10 Battle Points to your SM game, it becomes.. a wondercard! (I guess these wonder cards are kind of pointless, but I'll submit the first one): 0000 SM - Pokemon Bank Battle Points x10 (ENG).wc71 point

Which is one of the many reasons we exist. Collect and distribute events. Well, if one thing does annoy me, is how events don't always make it out of Japan, but it's getting better.1 point

It was discontinued, but I uploaded it here because I had need to look into one of its features. I didn't change anything (I can't compile it because of a vague error in one of the build dependencies), and the Gen 5 version is just a subset of files in the source zip. There's other versions in there (X/Y, Gen 4, and some other things I think) if anyone's interested.1 point

Actually, loading 34 into the game doesn't say Met in Pokemon Go, not like how Pokemon will say from RBY. Horohoro means Walking around, alludes to Pokemon Go, but once again, not "confirmed". Here are some screenshots: ID 34 (alleged Pokemon GO) ID 35 (alleged Red) ID 39 (Alleged Gold) It's odd that it doesn't overwrite everything and says it came from Pokemon Go, But rather kept the description as From Kalos. ID 39 doesn't say from Johto, but rather from Distant Land.1 point

Before we shout confirmed, I'll like to run through a few things. I don't think that Pokemon Go can directly connect to Sun and Moon via Wireless. Think of it as the developers are thinking ahead, in case they do find a way to work out the connections. I would think that Pokemon GO connection with Pokemon Sun/moon could range via a few ways: 1. Just an event that utilizes the Game ID as a Gimmick They could do a common giveaway to Commemorate Pokemon Go, and in S/M you receive the wondercard via serial code, with the Game ID preset to 34. Or perhaps for a purchase in a limited time period, you get the serial code, that type of thing. (so it isn't a trade, but rather just an event)[hence, you get a Pokemon that displays that logo] 2. Pokemon Transporter Mobile Support or via special webpage + account login If they set up Pokemon Transporter on mobile devices to allow one way transfer, you could retrieve the Pokemon from Pokemon Bank for SM 3. Some type of app that "emulates" one way transport If they don't combine the functionality like No. 2, they could always do an app or webpage that deletes the Pokemon, then you get a serial code to generate it via wondercard on your 3DS. After all, like VC Gen I, that stats likely won't retain, and will need to be regenerated. [Point no3 is similar with Point no2, difference being Pokemon Bank is not part of the service] As Deoxyz said, the Gen II icons are likely just future proofing. Less of confirmed, and more of in case they intend to, it's already in the code. They made Eternal Floette, and it hasn't been released in any event. Shiny Locked Pokemon has Shiny Sprites, but most of them haven't been released.1 point

I was hoping the DV -> Shiny conversation is retained, but since the games don't show shininess, there might not be Shiny conversations until GEN II VC. They have yet to say Pokemon Bank is postponed beyond Late Jan, so I'm not that worried about it. Problem is DV and IVs are completely different form of calculations, and imagine all Pokemon having their HP IV tied to other IVs (because if they were to scale the conversion, that's how broken it'll be), so I rather them just have them randomized. We can always get perfect IVs through Hyper Training anyways.. I'll imagine that no Effort Value gets transferred (cause once again, how different they are) also, were images of other Pokemon besides Mewtwo was shown? I would imagine the 3 perfect IV may only be locked to legendaries. edit: doesn't seem to be locked to only legendaries. http://www.nintendo.com.hk/pressrelease/3ds_20170124_pokemon_bank_update.htm Edit 2: " 從對應Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console(虛擬主機)的軟體『ポケットモンスター 赤・緑・青・ピカチュウ』送出的寶可夢(Pokémon)們似乎天生擁有很高的能力。 " The gist is, Pokemon transferred from VC Pokemon seems to have high stats The article states that release date is Late Jan 2017. (so basically, no change in that regard)1 point

I just caught an interesting detail whilst rewatching the video. It was only for the briefest of moments, but I noticed that the Mew distributor had access to Restore Points unlike normal Virtual Console versions of the game, and as soon as my trade was completed he used the restore point. This could mean that they were in fact using a special version of Red or Blue VC, or there's actually something hidden in the VC release that may re-enable Restore Point usage, as this is still a VC release capable of link-trading.1 point

I was one of the lucky ones who won tickets to the event, I got to attend had a fun time there, got to meet Shigeki Morimoto and have some merch signed, got the event Mew and saw some great Team Skull cosplayers. My 3DS was already hacked and I dumped my Pokémon Yellow game save as soon as I got home, unfortunately this site was still hacked at the time. Attached is the dumped Mew file from my extracted sav.dat using JK's Save Manager, as well as screens from PKXDelta. If you need I can also share my sav.dat file. The Mew does indeed have perfect IVs. To clarify, the save was dumped immediately after receiving the Mew, it was never stored in a box. Forthcoming is a video recording of actually receiving the Mew in a trade, and a couple of photos I took. Pokémon Festival UK 22-11-2016 Mew1 point
