This save file has been set up with ACE to be able to shiny hunt any Kanto or Johto Pokémon in Pokémon Red using the fossil conversion glitch. The current Pokémon to hunt is Ho-oh, though it will be explained how to change it to any Pokémon (except Celebi). This save file should only work with the English version of Pokémon Red (including 3DS VC), though it is also possible to perform it on Blue and Yellow. The OT has been changed to PPorg. If you want to use this save file for the original Game Boy version, change the extension to .sav. This glitch allows to change the Pokémon that you can recieve from the fossil researcher in Cinnabar Island. All the required stats for each species can be found in the Generation 1 Shiny Tool, where you will also find a guide to set up manually the fossil conversion glitch. This save file is exactly in Part 10 - Step 15 of the guide. If you are hunting a Johto Pokémon (with a few exceptions) it is absolutely recommended to read the remaining steps in order to peform ACE to change the type of the Pokémon. How to use Once you have transfered your Pokémon to Gold/Silver/Crystal, you can perform the following ACE codes to clear the received flag and/or change the species of the Pokémon: 0101A3D7 (Clear the received flag) 01XX10D7 (Set the species of the Pokémon, where XX is its internal ID number in hexadecimal) The codes have this format: 01XXYYZZ XX: the number of Lemonades you need to have in the inventory. YY: the number of X Accuracies you need to have in the inventory. ZZ: the number of Carbos you need to have in the inventory. Once you have the exact amount of each item, double check you have the same item amounts as in Part 12 - Step 2 of the previously mentioned guide (except Lemonades, X Accuracies and Carbos), and use the "4F" item to perform the code. Keep in mind that, for example, "D7" is "215" in decimal, the exact amount of the item you should have. Special thanks to Kazzouli, Nautoum and Oliver_MKP for providing video guides and support of this glitch. All the credit goes to them. Check out Kazzouli's video guide for a step-by-step tutorial.
  2. Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal 2.0 finally get a public release! Now the hack is totally finished! FEATURES: ALL HG/SS KANTO RESTORED LOCATIONS! ALL HG/SS KANTO RESTORED WILD AND LEGENDARIES POKéMONS! ALL HG/SS KANTO ADDED TRAINERS! PWETER MUSEUM FOSSILS PICS FROM R/G/B/Y! A WORKING SAFARI ZONE WITH ROCK AND BAIT! HG/SS GB CLASSIC MUSICS FOR CERLUEAN, FUCHSIA, CANNIBAR AND ROUTE 24-25! KANTO STARTERS FROM OAK AFTER RED DEFEAT! RESTORED POKé FLUTE FROM BETA LEFTOVERS! POKéMON MANSION RUINS! GS BALL AVAILABLE AFTER KANTO ADVENTURES IN CRYSTAL! DRAGON MASTER EVENT COPIED FROM CRYSTAL IN G/S! FIXED MINOR GLITCH LIKE PARALYZED CATCH RATE, KURT'S BALLS AND DRAGON FANG EFFECT I want to thank Mateo, Miksy91 and Rangi for the great help with script, game structure etc, FroggerSpirit for the GB CLASSIC musics, Koolboyman and Sanqui for the ????? re-use and maybe someone else that now I miss, for this work hard, very hard, but who cares, I'm very satisfied! I did this work exclusively in binary mode using the disassembly only like an explanation for the routines and the offset which I needed. Why? 'Cause I did this work for the 3 roms in both languages, english for international players and italian 'cause I'm italian and I wanted to give this hack also to my italian "brothers". XD XD XD And for me obviously, I love english, but I love also my words. In the archive link you will find the patches for Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal and Oro, Argento and Cristallo, that are the italian roms. You can use only the english patches obviously. I made this work in 6 different roms, I don't know if there are bug or glitches, if I mistaken something tell me and I'll fix it. 3. Another thing, is the evolution into Slowking glitched as well, I've given 2 slowpoke a kings rock to hold and both have become Slowbro. Edit: Is there a reason why the Armour Fossil is the only fossil not available in the legit build? Sorry for being a bother, trying to get as many of the legit pokemon as I can for a living Dex. Edit 2: Although the Root Fossil is available from the fossil event (where you decide between it and the claw fossil), it is also not available in the Legit Build through wild pokemon, since Bonsly and Sudowoodo are not available in regular ORAS.
  4. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please update to the latest version if you were using 1.0.2, a pretty serious glitch was fixed. It uses the same download link Introduction Pokémon SoothingSilver is a QOL DS ROM hack of Pokémon SoulSilver. The main goal of the hack is to be somewhat close to Vanilla SoulSilver but with more variety, a bit more difficulty and quite a few new features (such as custom shinies and alolan forms) to hopefully give the player an even better experience without ruining the feeling of the original SoulSilver. The game is beatable, all the way to Mt. Silver!Features Some Pokémon have been replaced by their Alolan forms, mainly for type variety, later on I'll release a patch for people who don't want this feature in the game. Alolan forms have custom Pokédex entries! All gen 1 & 2 Pokémon (apart from legendaries and fossil pokémon) are avaliable before beating the league, and most gen 3 & 4 pokémon aside from the sinnoh fossils, Spiritomb and some legendaries. Lyra is replaced entirely by Kris! Gold/ Kris will now act like a rival with new dialogue and a few battles throughout the game! Variety. Remember back in the original SoulSilver when you would find a trainer with 5 Pidgeys or when you fought Lance and he had 3 Dragonites? That won't happen anymore, trainers will have more varied teams and Pokémon that didn't appear much previously, will do now. Increased difficulty. All boss trainers have improved teams with better movesets and starting from the 4th gym all trainers will have increased levels. This means Kanto should be more of a challenge now! The difficulty is intended to be somewhere inbetween vanilla SoulSilver and StormSilver. The Hack should work on flashcarts like the R4! All Pokémon have their base stats updated to their Gen 6 stats. Some Pokémon have slightly altered stats, typings, and movesets in order to make them more usable, to add more type variety or just because it makes sense. Examples include Dragon-Bug Yanmega, Beedrill having slightly higher stats and learning Megahorn at later levels. These changes aren't as drastic as other hacks like Project rebooted. Some moves have been edited to be more usuable. Notably HMs are now actually better in battle so they don't hinder your Pokémon as much. For example Rock smash has increased pp and 100% chance to lower defense and Flash is now an electric type special move with 20 power, 95 accuracy, 100% chance lower accuracy and has priority. Easier Evolution. If a Pokémon has an evolution/ pre evolution introduced in gen 3/4 it'll be avaliable pre league and all evo items can be obtained in new ways. In addition any evolutions will be possible without having to trade. The type chart has been edited a little to help balance the game. Most notably Ice type is now immune to ice and resists water/ ground attacks New overworld events! Shiny rate increased from 1/8192 to 1/2048 (although it seems to be even higher than this!) Some pokémon will have custom shiny palletes! GB sounds from the start of the game Game corner has changed prizes and cheaper prices Early exp. share Removed the catching tutorial Repels and Max Repels now last slightly longer and Max Repels are cheaper Some characters have their dialouge altered a little to be slightly more memorable or just to explain features like alolan forms Plus more small features! I don't want to spoil everything :] Screenshots Discord Server If you want to ask me any questions, talk about the hack/ pokémon in general, get frequent updates on future versions, play with some pokémon discord bots and more then try joining the discord server! You can leave at any time, so what's stopping you? https://discord.gg/rjtQmq2 Download Keep in mind this is for the patch, I cannot provide you with a ROM file myself! Drive download link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1p2zv1p-QQ9N0Rx2Vx-9GivPXJ3V8mMbp?usp=sharing MEGA download link: https://mega.nz/folder/4Q4TGbZC#8MyZsz-1n1YznQhNIWM9LA Credits All the Kris sprites were added thanks to HiroTDK's KrisGold patch that can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonROMhacks/comments/3wxqp9/krisgold_in_heartgold_soulsilver_decapitalization/ The Alolan Form sprites come courtesy of the DS-style Gen VII and Beyond Pokémon Sprite Repository found here https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=368703 Thank you so much to DeadSkullzJr for helping me make the patch stable, getting the hack working on R4 and just generally fixing a few technical problems! Thank you to Drayano for allowing me to use parts of his Kyogre/ Rayquaza script plus future legendary scripts! And thank you to all of you who supported me or just played the BETA and kept my motivation up, couldn't have done it without you! Future Updates I still plan on releasing a few updates to add cool new features that I would love to have in the game such as new areas. However recently I began my second year of university. I had pretty much made this whole hack during my extended summer because of the corn virus, but now that Uni has resumed and is supposed to be much more difficult this year, the development of SoothingSilver will slow down drastically so I don't even have an expected release date for the next version. However I made sure to get version 1 out before I got too busy which is pretty much a finished experience. I may release a bug fix update soon but aside from that the next update will take a long time, so enjoy version 1 thank you so much again for all your support! Buh bye!
  5. I'm glad to present you my attempt at a Pokémon hack, Pokémon MindCrystal, a mod of Pokémon SoulSilver. I warn you though, this hack is available only in French. The crux of this hack is obviously the inclusion of the Fairy-type at 100%. Most of the changes were done from a technical standpoint. These are the few parts of the storyline that were changed as of now: the girl in Ilex Forest gate that gave you the TM12 now gives you instead the Eviolite, Several TMs have changed location. the Day-Care lady gives to you the Odd Egg which can hatch into any 17 non-Togepi babies. all 16 Gym Leaders first teams got revamped, as well as those of the Elite 4, Lance and Red. all 16 Gym Leaders second teams got revamped, as well as those of the Elite 4, Lance. the inclusion of Lv.100 battles against Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and Red after defeating the latter for the first time. Grab the xDelta patch at the bottom of this post and patch it with a French version of Pokémon SoulSilver. Revamped type-chart to include the Fairy-type matchup as well as all the neutral match-ups. Pixie Plate implemented. Roseli Berry implemented. Fairy-type Arceus in place of ???-type Arceus. Updated Judgment to take into account the Pixie Plate. Pokédex fully updated to take into account the Fairy-type in Research mode. Conversion updated to take into account the Fairy-type. Conversion 2 updated to take into account all 324 types match-ups. Battle Hall includes the Fairy-type row. Fairy-type icon. Pokédex Fairy-type icon. Fairy-type moves: Move Power Accuracy Category PP Priority Effect Comet Punch 18 85 Physical 15 0 - Slam 90 100 Physical 10 0 - Sweet Kiss - 75 Status 10 0 Confusion Charm - 100 Status 20 0 -2 Attack Attract - 100 Status 15 0 Infatuation Moonlight - - Status 5 0 Restore HP Follow Me - 100 Status 20 2 Center of attention Extrasensory 90 100 Special 20 0 20% flinch Covet 40 100 Physical 25 0 Steal items Captivate - 100 Status 20 0 -2 Sp. Attack for opposite gender Battle Frontier: Shiny lock removed for opponents Pokémon in all 5 facilities. New items available for purchase. Battle Frontier Pokémon will always have an IV of 31 in all 6 stats. Battle Frontier Pokémon will always have the ability who is the best tailored for a given set Battle Frontier Pokémon EV and IV generation has been modified to optimize Hidden Power, Gyro Ball and Trick Room most notably. Battle Tower: Shiny lock removed as well for the NPC partners in Multi Battle mode. Battle Hall: As said earlier, Battle Hall includes the Fairy-type row. You still fight in rounds of 10 battles. The Silver Print is now obtained by challenging and defeating Argenta on the 80th battle. The Gold Print is now obtained by challenging and defeating Argenta on the 180th battle. Other mechanics inherent to the Battle Hall were updated to grant a flawless experience of the facility. Shiny chance is now 1/4096. Having a Pokémon with the Ability Super Luck leading the party increases the likelihood of encountering a wild Shiny Pokémon. Shiny generation from "forced shiny encounters" method was slightly altered to take into account the modified Shiny Rate. Cute Charm PID generation is improved and no longer restricted, which means you can no longer abuse Cute Charm for easy Shinies. Shellos and Gastrodon East Sea forms are now available in Kanto. +50% Physical Defense boost for Ice-types under Hail. Soundproof check against Heal Bell removed. Stealth Rock damage is decreased by half. Fixed the move Hail, basically in gen IV the way Hail is coded allows you to use Hail despite Snow Warning. Fixed the move Fire Fang so that it doesn't hit through Wonder Guard anymore unless it happens to be super-effective. Hidden Power can be Normal or Fairy type now as well, the Hidden Power NPC will notice this too. Hidden Power no longer takes into account Speed to calculate the type. Some Base Stats were upgraded to help some Pokémon perform better (for example Persian or Probopass). Starf Berry can now sharply increase accuracy and evasion. Castform and Cherrim alternate forms now display their respective icon during battles. Castform's alternate forms now display their respective type when checked through the menu during battles. HP bar graphics were changed. HP are now displayed for the opposing side in single format, double format is unchanged in that regard. Fixed Strength graphical glitch that also occurs in the original versions. Fixed Facade graphical glitch that also occurs in the original versions. Battle Style is now permanently locked on Set. You can't use items from your bag against a Trainer, very much like against Battle Frontier Trainers! All Trainers' Pokémon have now 31 IVs in all 6 stats. All Trainers' Pokémon have now 255 EVs in all 6 stats. All Trainers' Pokémon have now the possibility to easily get beneficial natures. All Trainers' Pokémon have now the possibility to be shiny. IVs for opponents' Pokémon can be chosen from a pool of 64 combinations, most notably to capitalize on Hidden Power, Gyro Ball and Trick Room. All Trainers' Pokémon can now be contained in Balls other than Poké Balls. The number of possible seals combinations for opponents' Pokémon went up from 28 to 216. Ace Trainer Lois replaces Juggler Irwin in the Pokégear, you can set a rematch with her on Wednesday afternoons (10:00 to 19:59). ASM hack to allow more than 737 trainers in-game (complete with text). Continuity for opposing Trainers is preserved, by that I mean that the IVs, nature, shininess and gender of opposing Pokémon stay the same (for example Falkner's Pidgeot is canonically the same creature as when he was only a Pidgey). Alternate Forms from Trainers now have their correct Ability as well as the correct Base Stats' spread. A new item was created, the Evolutor, which when applied like an Evolutionary Stone to a Lv 100 Pokémon, allows it to evolve if it can do so! Eevee can now evolve into Leafeon if leveled-up at Ilex Forest or Viridian Forest. Eevee can now evolve into Glaceon if leveled-up at Ice Path or Seafoam Islands. Magneton and Nosepass can now evolve into Magnezone and Probopass respectively if leveled-up at Team Rocket HQ, Route 10 or Power Plant. Feebas, on top of requiring a beauty's stat of 170 min, is now required to level-up at least at level 20 to be able to evolve. Feebas gains a second failsafe evolution method in case the Sheen is maxed before the Beauty stat reaches 170. Female/Male Kirlia evolves into Gardevoir/Gallade at Lv 30. Female/Male Snorunt evolves into Froslass/Glalie at Lv 42. Female/Male Clamperl evolves into Gorebyss/Huntail with the Dawn Stone. Pokémon that require a trade to evolve all gained an alternate method of evolution. Incenses babies are now the default base form. Miltank and Tauros are now considered the same species for breeding purposes. Feebas/Milotic and Magikarp/Gyarados are now considered the same species for breeding purposes. Females can now pass egg moves as well, eliminating all impossible egg moves combinations. A new NPC, called the Egg Move Tutor, makes an appearance; as the name implies he is capable of teaching your Pokémon moves that normally it has to know from birth, but also level-up moves that only pre-evolutions can learn, and for some Pokémon moves that they have no other way to learn, but you'll have to spend 100 BP to pay for his services! The Odd Egg will be given to you by the Day-Care lady! Gender ratios are fixed, with that I mean that for example 1 male per female REALLY means 1 male per female (and not 129 males for 127 females). Ponyta, Rapidash, Gardevoir, Feebas, Milotic and Gorebyss are now female-only. Magikarp, Gyarados, Glalie and Huntail are now male-only. EV limit is now 1530, you can max all stats now. The new EV limit also applies in the Battle Frontier. Vitamins cap at 255 EVs now. Vitamins give 15 EVs per usage now. Lv 100 Pokémon can gain EVs by fighting now, but they still need to be deposited in the PC for the stat gains to take fully effect. IVs no longer have an effect on stats, that is stats are always calculated assuming an IV of 31, this is done to not disavantage you to much against Trainers, especially early-game. Updated Items: Light Ball benefits Pichu and Raichu as well now. TM45 and TM78, which contain Attract and Captivate respectively, have been updated with a Fairy-type TM icon. New Items: Pixie Plate Roseli Berry Eviolite Evolutor TMs: TMs are now reusable you can no longer throw away TMs you can no longer give TMs to hold Purchasable TMs, regardless of the currency, can only be bought one at time and only once TM56, TM86 and TM26 are no longer Pickup items and were replaced with Lucky Egg, Life Orb and PP Max respectively each of the 92 TMs is available only once! If possible, moves were upgraded to match Gen V+ information. Nerfs from Gen VI are NOT applied (this means that for example Surf and Hydro Pump remain at 95 and 120 power respectively). Even moves like Tail Glow, which should boost the Special Attack by 3 stages, have been updated successfully (complete with the text). Acupressure now works if the user is behind a substitute. Sleep Talk can now be used multiple times under the effect of Choice Items and/or Encore. SFX for some moves were altered to suit them better. Updated Abilities: Stench (Gen V+ behavior) Sturdy (Gen V+ behavior) LightningRod (Gen V+ behavior) Sand Stream (now makes the user immune against sandstorms) Simple (Gen V+ behavior) Storm Drain (Gen V+ behavior) Snow Warning (now makes the user immune against hailstorms) New Abilities: Sheer Force Contrary Defeatist Cursed Body Multiscale Poison Boost Flare Boost Overcoat (Gen V behavior) Regenerator Sand Rush Wonder Skin Analytic Infiltrator (Gen VI behavior) Magic Bounce Sap Sipper Prankster Sand Force Fur Coat Bulletproof Strong Jaw Refrigerate Gale Wings MegaLauncher Tough Claws Pixilate Aerilate Slush Rush Long Reach Galvanize QueenMajesty Text Speed is now permanently locked on Fast. Battle Scene is now permanently locked on On. National Pokédex is the default mode upon beginning the adventure. Player's Mom can now buy batches of 5 Roseli Berries as well. Roseli Berries can be occasionally held by wild Absol. Game runs now at 60 FPS ! Allowing for much quicker battles. Several sprites changed/fixed. Some shiny sprites recolored. ORAS mini-icons. Palettes for the Pokémon sprites were all updated to B2W2 and improved even further if necessary Replaced Sky Attack move tutor with Zap Cannon. Roseli Berries can now be planted in Berry Pots, they have the same growth and moisture drain rate as the other damage-reducing berries. New movesets and egg moves. Routes 26, 27, 28, Tohjo Falls and Victory Road will always play the Johto versions of the Wild Pokémon theme and the VS Trainer theme. Lyra was fully replaced by Kris. All 7 Fossils are available now at Ruins of Alph. All trees have Pokémon now and ignore the effects of Intimidate and Keen Eye. The timeframe window to react to a rod bite has been doubled to make up for to the game running at 60 FPS while fishing. Fixed the quiet tune on map 108 (Route 45), a glitch that also occurs in the original versions. Bug-Catching Contest species vary according to the day of the week, Scyther and Pinsir are the only Pokémon always available in a Contest but only have a 1% encounter rate! Score calculation for the Bug-Catching Contest was modified to take into account shininess. Pokédex entries got upgraded to match those of Pokémon Crystal (001 to 251) and Pokémon B2W2 (past 251 whenever possible). Gender will always be displayed, even for both Nidorans. Lugia and Ho-Oh Kimonos' cutscenes now co-exist. Bugfix: Fixed Kris' frames when riding a bicycle to the left. Bugfix: Fixed glitched Trainer names with 8 characters or more. Bugfix: Fixed 4 mistakes on overlay 18 that made the game hang upon sending some Pokémon according to their abilities. (thanks Asia81) Bugfix: Capture tutorial work properly Bugfix: Additional trainers work properly Bugfix: Ability Tough Claws work properly Bugfix: Non-Sturdy Pokémon no longer can benefit from Sturdy Bugfix: Player's mom can now buy all 18 kinds of super-effective Berries Bugfix: Bug catching score calculation now takes into account Shininess properly Bugfix: Egg IV calculation fixed Bugfix: Growth, Minimize, Sweet Scent and Tail Glow work properly even when called by other moves Bugfix: Acupressure now works if the user is behind a substitute, even if Acupressure is called by other moves Bugfix: Roseli Berry now always reduces super-effective damage from Fairy-type moves Bugfix: Lugia and Ho-Oh cutscenes were slowed down to 30 FPS to work properly on a NDS Bugfix: Entering a fight no longer causes a BSoD after talking to the Egg Move Tutor Title Screen: All of those modifications were carefully tested on a NDS, so as to reduce as much as possible the eventual bugs that might occur. Credits: _Nintendo _Game Freak _Creatures, Inc. _Sora Ltd. for developing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, from whom Suicune's model on the title screen is taken from _Gregarlink10 (http://gregarlink10.deviantart.com/) for making Kris' spritesheet _NyaChan (https://twitter.com/nyachan) for making the Title logo (http://forums.bulbagarden.net/index.php?threads/the-bulbagarden-conversational-chat-thread-vol-2.57572/page-31#post-1504991). _Asia81 for some bugfixes Enjoy! 6. Would any use of the rebattle codes cause any random glitches? Because I do use said rebattle codes and for some reason u can no longer enter the Devon Corporation. The workers are again complaining of the Team Aqua theft even though I've done this part long ago and have beaten the game multiple times already. I found the same Devon guy walking around but he just gives me a repeat Ball. Also I can no longer find Mr. briney. I think Briney might not be related and I just don't know where to look but I don't know why I can't go in the Devon building anymore and I haven't redeemed my fossils yet. This is in Emerald, US version. My hypothesis is probably wrong about the rebattle codes as on my Japanese Emerald which I also rebattle with, I can access the Devon building just fine. Any ideas?
  7. beta 2.0 Fixed the quiet tune on map 108 (Route 45), a glitch that also occurs in the original versions. Fixed Strength graphical glitch that also occurs in the original versions. Fixed Facade graphical glitch that also occurs in the original versions. Fixed Kris' frames when riding a bicycle to the left. Fixed glitched Trainer names with 8 characters or more. Fixed 4 mistakes on overlay 18 that made the game hang upon sending some Pokémon according to their abilities (thanks Asia81). Routes 26, 27, 28, Tohjo Falls and Victory Road will always play the Johto versions of the Wild Pokémon theme and the VS Trainer theme. Eevee can now evolve into Leafeon if leveled-up at Ilex Forest. Eevee can now evolve into Glaceon if leveled-up at Ice Path. Magneton and Nosepass can now evolve into Magnezone and Probopass respectively if leveled-up at Team Rocket HQ. Pokémon that require a trade to evolve all gained an alternate method of evolution. Vulpix is now Fire/Fairy type. Persian is now Normal/Dark type. Misdreavus and Mismagius are now Ghost/Fairy type. Some Base Stats were upgraded to help some Pokémon perform better (for example Persian or Probopass). Hidden Power can be Normal or Fairy type now as well, the Hidden Power NPC will notice this too. Hidden Power no longer takes into account Speed to calculate the type. SFX for some moves were altered to suit them better. All 7 Fossils are available now at Ruins of Alph. The timeframe window to react to a rod bite has been doubled to make up for to the game running at 60 FPS while fishing. Females can now pass egg moves as well, eliminating all impossible egg moves combinations. A new NPC, called the Egg Move Tutor, makes an appearance; as the name implies he is capable of teaching your Pokémon moves that normally it has to know from birth, but also level-up moves that only pre-evolutions can learn, and for some Pokémon moves that they have no other way to learn, but you'll have to spend a hefty 200 BP to pay for his services! Having a Pokémon with the Ability Super Luck leading the party increases the likelihood of encountering a Shiny Pokémon. Shiny generation from "forced shiny encounters" method was slightly altered to take into account the modified Shiny Rate. Score calculation for the Bug-Catching Contest was modified to take into account shininess. Opponents' Pokémon can be shiny now. The number of possible seals combinations for opponents' Pokémon went up from 28 to 216. Nature is now easy to customize for opposing Trainers' Pokémon. Opponents can now have their Pokémon in any kind of Poké Ball. IVs for opponents' Pokémon can be chosen from a pool of 64 combinations, most notably to capitalize on Hidden Power, Gyro Ball and Trick Room. Ace Trainer Lois replaces Juggler Irwin in the Pokégear, you can set a rematch with her on Wednesday afternoons (10:00 to 19:59). ASM hack to allow more than 737 trainers in-game (complete with text). Battle Frontier Pokémon will always have an IV of 31 in all 6 stats. You must get all 8 Johto badges in order, this means: Chuck must be defeated before you can get the SecretPotion Jasmine must be defeated to unlock Route 42 All 16 Gym Leaders teams got revamped, as well as those of the Elite 4, Lance and Red. Continuity for opposing Trainers is preserved, by that I mean that the IVs, nature, shininess and gender of opposing Pokémon stay the same (for example Falkner's Pidgeot is canonically the same creature as when he was only a Pidgey). Pokédex entries got upgraded to match those of Pokémon Crystal (001 to 251) and Pokémon B2W2 (past 251 whenever possible). Gender will always be displayed, even for both Nidorans. Castform and Cherrim alternate forms now display their respective icon during battles. Castform's alternate forms now display their respective type when checked through the menu during battles. A new item was created, the Evolutor, which when applied like an Evolutionary Stone to a Lv 100 Pokémon, allows it to evolve if it can do so! Lv 100 Pokémon can gain EVs by fighting now, but they still need to be deposited in the PC for the stat gains to take fully effect. Lugia and Ho-Oh Kimonos' cutscenes co-exist. To-do: Continue to expand the biotope to increase the versatility of team-building. Continue to increase the levels of wild Pokémon to take into account the new difficulty curve. Update the Pokédex locations (which can be done). Continue to change the teams of opposing Trainers. Change the Game Corner dialogue. So, I wanted to get all the ASM Hacks out of the way, which is why I'm updating the download link now. Some changes were in the way ASM Hacks are handled, most notably ASM Hacks that were previously stored in arm9 are now stored elsewhere, more precisely where the arenaoffs begins (or rather previously began, as now it has been pushed further). That's because some glitches occurred like the Pokémon overworld icons that displayed the wrong Pokémon. Also some new ASM Hacks were made, like for example the one that make EV training a Lv 100 Pokémon possible, and the one that allows the Evolutor to work fully. Now that I got that out of the way, I can fully concentrate on the wild Pokémon and the Trainer teams! Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/lz83do1q3gc331b
  8. So..First off...This is my first post...Tell me if i'm doing something wrong  oh and, i'm so tired i put legit instead of legal. So. I made a very legal mudkip. (Pokesav mind you.) It's moves are: Whirlpool Water Gun BubbleBeam Attract I know mudkips can learn those moves  It's lv. 63 met at lv. 5 Hometown in Johto. Naughty nature holding a dome fossil IV values are: HP is 31, Speed is 31, Attack is 31, Sp. Attack is 20, it's defense is 31, and it's Sp. Def is 10. Female No EVs 10 for each PP and 3 for PP ups  it has torrent for it's ability... What's wrong with it? If it's a glitch or a silly mistake...i'll commit suicide. I stayed up all night with this now. OK, OK. I TRIED MAKING ANOTHER THAT DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MUDKIPS OR POKESAV. (TORCHIC WITH THE...POKEPROJECT POKEMON MAKER THING) AND I MADE IT EVEN MORE BELIEVABLE, AND IT DIDN'T WORK EITHER! I'M STUCK. WHAT DO I DO? I ATTACHED HER .PKM FILE
  9. Hey, I found some things I noticed, but I wasn't sure if I should PM you instead. *You get a free Hoenn Starter instead of one of the monkey trio. *Less than three Pokemon in triple battle locks up. *For when you battle Chili, Cilan and Cress, the mugshot shows the order they're standing, but when in-battle, Chili and Cress are switched as well as their respective Pokemon. *I noticed the different trainer classes. *I also noticed that Brock "replaced" Lenora which was kinda hinted when you got TM Retaliate from the girl when you usually get it from Lenora. (Sorry, if this spoils anything.) *Before you battle Brock he says, "I am the temporary director of [...] Lenora is currently doing some fossil (cuts off)" I think it was supposed to say "...fossil research" or some other. If there were any graphical glitches I didn't see any because the top screen on my DS Lite is not working right. As in, the screen has a red tint, and can't see the colours correctly. Although it would be nice to have a location guide, but sometimes I think it's better without it. More of a challenge having to find all the Pokemon yourself. I'm having a lot of fun trying to find all the Pokemon in each route/cave/city/town. I'm about to go through Pinwheel Forest and catch Team Plasma.
  10. I tried playing Yellow version again, and I'm actually having fun. I just defeated the League and caught Mewtwo, making me the POKEMON MASTER! ... I am living my childhood life again I guess! So far, I have seen 148 Pokemon and caught 133 of them. Yes, that includes Mew and the trade evolutions (Alakazam, Machamp, Golem, Gengar). No I did not cheat for Mew: there is a glitch to exploit to get it in any of the original Generation I Pokemon games. As for the trade evos, there's TGBDual for that. What? Yes, I have the original cartridge as well, so thank you for asking. I am missing: [icon]013[/icon][icon]014[/icon][icon]015[/icon][icon]023[/icon][icon]024[/icon][icon]026[/icon][icon]052[/icon][icon]053[/icon][icon]106[/icon][icon]109[/icon][icon]110[/icon][icon]124[/icon][icon]125[/icon][icon]126[/icon][icon]135[/icon][icon]136[/icon][icon]140[/icon][icon]141[/icon] Apparently you are not allowed to capture Team Rocket's Pokemon nor the Weedle family nor the elementals in this game. Oh yes, and no Raichu. Yes, I picked Hitmonchan over Hitmonlee. Get over it. I picked Omanyte over Kabuto because I like it better... I guess. And as for the Eeveelutions, you only get one Eevee in this game with no breeding. Yes, I like Vaporeon the most, and so that's the one I got. I have NOT seen Electabuzz, Magmar, and Kabutops. I guess I will have to play the other versions and trade in the ones I am missing to complete my Dex... as usual. If you have no link or TGBDual or Gameshark or not exploiting glitches or whatever, you would NEVER see Golem, Electabuzz, Magmar, and the final form of the fossil you did not select. There are some others like Venusaur and Pidgeot and Porygon, but they are possible to get in this game if you take the effort to obtain them. I'm still disappointed I could not see the others, so yeah... time to play Red/Blue or something. [icon]025[/icon]Some quirks about this game: There was no Special Attack nor Special Defence: both were counted as one stat called Special. Yes, that meant the Alakazam with 135 Special had 135 Special Attack AND Special Defence. Talk about broken! The Pokemon's learnset were terrible... in fact, so spaced out you would have to literally wait like 9 levels until your Pokemon learned its next move. Some Pokemon would only start with one move and would have to wait until Level 38 or something outrageous to learn a new move, such as Magmar, because in Blue version you would find it in that level. Future generations fixed that I guess. Sorry Lorshy but your bugs were inadequately powered in this generation. Pikachu cannot evolve. Forcing a Thunderstone at it will only be met with a message of refusal. The Pokemon actually start looking like the actual Pokemon, compared to its predecessors. The AI is pretty good and all, and it is a vast improvement over Pokemon RGB. However, your rival's final team could have been better. While he did teach TMs to some of the Pokemon (such as Sandslash with Earthquake), I could not help but wonder why he had no Mega Drain nor Psychic on his Exeggutor, nor a Fire Blast in Ninetales, while keeping some unorthodox moves such as Tail Whip or Barrage on them. Oh well. I cannot help but shudder at many of the useless TMs that were scattered all over this game! Sure, TM12 is Water Gun, but that would prove helpful to your Rattata or Nidoran if fighting against Geodudes in Mt. Moon (that is where you find it), but after you get outside of Mt. Moon comes the amazing TM04... with WHIRLWIND! ... but in this generation Whirlwind had no effect whatsoever in trainer battles, meaning it was incredibly useless. Well, you can teach it to some bird and transfer it to GSC if you want some use I guess... Then comes TM30, which is NOT Shadow Ball because that move did not exist, but it is the astounding TELEPORT! Interesting move if in real life, but in-game... that does NOT help! Then comes very specialised TMs such as TM37, which contains EGG BOMB, only learnable by 3 Pokemon (4 if you count Mew), which are Exeggcute, Exeggutor, and Chansey. And then there's TM41, Softboiled, only learnable by Chansey and Mew. What in the world? TM23 is Dragon Rage, the only dragon move in the game, which only hits for 40 damage every time. Available for 3500 coins at the Game Corner... as if I needed it at that point! Forget the TMs, what about the actual moves themselves? While some otherwise useless attacks such as Roar and Whirlwind have improved later , some moves have not changed much from the first Gen, such as Razor Wind and Submission. Who in their right minds thought these were great attacks anyways? Too bad Submission is the most widespread best Fighting move in this game though. Glitched moves like Focus Energy and Substitute were fixed later in Stadium: right now, Focus Energy DECREASES user's critical hit ratio while Substitute allowed the user to take status. Eww. Speaking of Substitute, when that Snorlax blows up on a substitute, it will NOT faint! Moves like Wrap or Fire Spin were almost broken, except for their accuracy, because it prevented anyone from attacking for 2-5 turns, which explains why Fire Spin was like an "ultimate move" back then. Now look at where it is at! But unlike their future counterparts, the trapped foe can switch out. Blizzard is 90% accurate. What in the world? But yes, it meant that Articuno was actually amazing in this generation. In fact, without factoring weakness or resistance, Articuno's Blizzard is the most powerful non-boosted Special Attack in the game! Fall asleep, and take a WHOLE turn to wake up. Meaning if your Pokemon wakes up, it just signals the other guy to put your Pokemon to sleep again since your Pokemon will not attack after waking up. Fixed in later gen, but clearly one can see why sleep was pretty broken. A frozen Pokemon is as good as a fainted Pokemon: it will NEVER dethaw on its own. Only way to thaw the Pokemon out is to use a Fire attack on it or use Haze (yeah Haze gets rid of status for some reason). Or of course, your Full Heal or Ice Heal and the likes, in-game! In short, Gen I's metagame was a giant trainwreck: all you need is a team of 5 Alakazams and a Chansey to win... and one can see why. Though of course, that's why Species clause was invented. Mostly Psychic Pokemon and Normals dominated in this metagame due to how the mechanics of this game worked. It is an interesting battlefield, but not for the sane. What Psychic counters? The only Ghost Pokemon family in this game had a subtype weak to Psychic (Poison) and had a Special and Speed rating trolled horribly by Alakazam's. The only Ghost attack without fixed damage (Night Shade) or support role (Confuse Ray) was Lick... which is just about as strong as Absorb. Yeah right. And even so, for some dumb reason, Ghost attacks do NOT affect Psychics in this game! Somebody messed up. What about Bugs? Half of them are part Poison as well, making them weak to Psychic, and the only Bug with a decent enough bug attack (Beedrill with Twinneedle)... you've guessed it, is Psychic weak! And you want to counter Normals too? Fighters with poor special ratings will get manhandled by the uber dominant Psychics. This is why Gen II introduced Dark and Steel types folks! To shift the balance of the metagame... though it worked a little TOO well. Forgetting about the metagame and competitive junk... the music was great and memorable and the colours that adorned this game were charming. Despite the lack of movepool the Pokemon had and all its other flaws, I was able to see past that while playing this game as a child, and still the same today... I guess. It is just that now with my grown up view with competitive battling and such that I can see where all the pitfalls were. ... oh cool. I fished out a Level 15 Gyarados in Fuschia City! Really now? That must be quite the scary pond. As usual, here is the SAV file... full of Pokemon with semi-competitive movesets (I say semi because I tried to make it work in-game and competitively... somewhat). So yeah... if you want to try some old school Pokemon, you might want to try this game out. For a game with more glitches and exploitables and the ability to evolve your Pikachu and fight a rival with a starter that has an advantage against yours, you will want to try its predecessors Red and Blue. If you have played it, please share your experiences here. *sees how dead this boards is... watches tumbleweed rolling through Ghost Town... vanishes into thin air* EDIT: Updated with all 151 Pokemon caught. Pokemon Yellow (U).sav
  11. I was wondering if any body could fix the All Fossils With Crown Status code. because for some reason when you use it the dark spectrobe fossils are not blue/black and if you use the code with any correct dark fossils (has blue/black coloring) the game glitches up and displays a glitch image and the name as Alpha Cube where those correct fossils were. Here is the code
  12. I had mostly every Pokemon possible in my Blue version, even Mew... but since I had no extra Gameboy I had no way of obtaining the following: Red Exclusives: [icon]023[/icon] [icon]024[/icon] [icon]043[/icon] [icon]044[/icon] [icon]045[/icon] [icon]056[/icon] [icon]057[/icon] [icon]058[/icon] [icon]059[/icon] [icon]123[/icon] [icon]125[/icon] Choice Events: [icon]001[/icon] [icon]002[/icon] [icon]003[/icon]: I picked Squirtle... but Venusaur is the BEST starter in this game... PERIOD. But that Poison typing is such a curse >.< [icon]004[/icon] [icon]005[/icon] [icon]006[/icon]: See above... Charizard is decent but still not good enough in my opinion. It had a base Special Attack and Special Defense of 85 in this game... and that's bad! [icon]106[/icon]: Yes, I picked Hitmonchan over this one. Neither of them are good but Lee is MUCH better than Chan, even today. >.> [icon]135[/icon] [icon]136[/icon]: I evolved Eevee into a Vaporeon instead of the other two. Why? Simply because I love it the best. Vaporeon is good... Jolteon is all right, but Flareon fails. My favorite is Vaporeon... Flareon comes second, and Jolteon comes third. Argh, Flareon's failitude started even way back here! [icon]140[/icon] [icon]141[/icon]: I picked Omanyte because he is obviously the better one but everyone knows Kabutops looks cooler Trade Pokemon: I could not obtain these for they must be TRADED to evolve. Note that in Yellow it is possible to obtain Machamp without other Gameboy interaction via trading a Cubone for a Machoke in the Underground Path entrance at Route 5 (below Cerulean). [icon]065[/icon]: Trade Kadabra to get Alakazam. Possibly the best non-uber in game [icon]068[/icon]: Trade Machoke to get Machamp. If you were a fighter back then it meant suicide [icon]076[/icon]: Trade Graveler to get Golem. Golem is just another Rhydon but it can blow up... use Rhydon instead [icon]094[/icon]: Trade Haunter to get Gengar. It is a weaker Alakazam with a different typing and a weakness to Earthquake... > The ginormous movepool is helpful though. Ironically, this is the Pokemon built to stop Alakazam... or is it? Its stats scream "Alakazam will own me!" Since that is a total deficit of 25 Pokemon, I had 126 Pokemon in total (yes I had Mew as well via the Mew glitch). The hardest to get in my opinion was Rapidash... I mean this trick pony that only knows Ember and Tail Whip... to train it up to level 40 to evolve? That is insane! For those who have Red version and want to know which Pokemon are unattainable in Red version (aka Blue exclusives): [icon]027[/icon] [icon]028[/icon] [icon]037[/icon] [icon]038[/icon] [icon]052[/icon] [icon]053[/icon] [icon]069[/icon] [icon]070[/icon] [icon]071[/icon] [icon]126[/icon] [icon]127[/icon] Pokemon unattainable in Yellow version: [icon]013[/icon] [icon]014[/icon] [icon]015[/icon] [icon]023[/icon] [icon]024[/icon] [icon]026[/icon] [icon]052[/icon] [icon]053[/icon] [icon]109[/icon] [icon]110[/icon] [icon]124[/icon] [icon]125[/icon] [icon]126[/icon] The reasoning behind Weedle is because Ash failed to catch it in the anime... but by that logic, Spearow should be unavailable too. Pikachu refuses to evolve and that is the only Pikachu you get in-game. As for the others, they are either Team Rocket's Pokemon or they are the three great elementals, only one you will actually see (Jynx from Lorieli) Wondering about [icon]123[/icon] and [icon]127[/icon]? They are available at the Game Corner for ~ 6500 coins each (I believe). Some people think there are more unattainable Pokemon, but the simple fact is, some Pokemon are a lot more rare in one version than in the other, and vice versa. Here is a list of some that you might have trouble finding: [icon]010[/icon] [icon]011[/icon] [icon]012[/icon]: Caterpie and Metapod are more common in Blue than in Red Counterpart: Weedle family [icon]013[/icon] [icon]014[/icon] [icon]015[/icon]: Weedle and Kakuna are more common in Red than in Blue Counterpart: Caterpie family [icon]026[/icon]: Although a non-issue, there are Raichus available in the wild exclusive to Blue in the Power Plant. But you can easily catch the rare Pikachu in Power Plant and Viridian Forest and use a Thunderstone which you can buy at Celadon Department Store for 2100. Besides, they are also available in the Unknown Dungeon in both versions. [icon]029[/icon] [icon]030[/icon] [icon]031[/icon]: The Female Nidorans and Nidorinas are more common in Blue than in Red Counterpart: Male Nidoran family [icon]032[/icon] [icon]033[/icon] [icon]034[/icon]: The Male Nidorans and Nidorinos are more common in Red than in Blue Counterpart: Female Nidoran family [icon]088[/icon] [icon]089[/icon]: Grimer and the rare Muk are more common in Blue than in Red Counterpart: Koffing family [icon]098[/icon] [icon]099[/icon]: Krabby and the rare Kingler are more common in Blue than in Red Counterpart: Horsea family [icon]109[/icon] [icon]110[/icon]: Koffing and the rare Weezing are more common in Red than in Blue Counterpart: Grimer family [icon]116[/icon] [icon]117[/icon]: Horsea and the rare Seadra are more common in Red than in Blue Counterpart: Krabby family Event Pokemons: [icon]001[/icon] [icon]004[/icon] [icon]007[/icon]: In the beginning you get a choice among these three. Honestly just pick Bulbasaur if you want to win or just pick whoever is your favorite... Charmander will make your game difficult though. In Yellow you get to grab all three! But that is much later in the game. BTW Charizard could not learn Fly until Yellow version came out. Bulbasaur is in the same place you get Jynx (see below), Charmander is given by the man at the top of Nugget Bridge in Route 24 (at the ledge) and Squirtle is given by Officer Jenny in Vermilion after you beat Lt. Surge. They are all level 10. [icon]025[/icon]: Yellow only... it is your starter and it refuses to evolve. This was BEFORE the Light Ball was invented... FAIL! In Red and Blue just grab one at Viridian Forest (albeit rare) or one at the Power Plant. Or just grab a Raichu... who only has Thundershock and Growl and Thunder Wave... but TMs solve the problem there. Oh and Pikachu started learning Thunderbolt naturally at Yellow at level 26... too bad it could not in the other two. [icon]068[/icon]: In Yellow there actually is a way to get Machamp in game. In the Underground entrance in Route 5 (below Cerulean) there is a girl who will trade you a Machoke for your Cubone (in the other two versions she offers a Female Nidoran named Spot for a Male Nidoran... lame considering there is another guy offering a Nidorina named Terry for a Nidorino >.>). Once you trade, the game will think you traded (duh!) so Machoke will evolve into Machamp. His name is Ricky. You can trade a level 5 Cubone from GSC and gain a level 5 Machamp this way too! But with such a limited move list with Karate Chop/Low Kick/Leer/Focus Energy/Seismic Toss/Submission... is it really needed in RBY other than to complete your Pokedex? [icon]083[/icon]: In Red and Blue the house near the Mart (to the left) has a girl who is willing to trade her Farfetch'd named Dux for a common Spearow. Poor Farfy has been ruined since this generation and they refused to improve it. In Yellow they are available in the wild in Silence Bridge (Route 12-13, the place with epic music). You will need Cut to access the grass. [icon]106[/icon] [icon]107[/icon]: This is your reward for beating the Fighting Dojo. Unlike in the later generations these two only had 35 Special Defense... and that automatically means they fail since they are weak to Psychic. Plus Hitmonchan could learn all three elemental punches... but with 35 Special Attack... that fails. Just grab Hitmonlee who is better than Hitmonchan but none of them are that great. So what about the posters behind each of them? Behind lee says "Enemies on every side!" while chan's states "What goes around comes around". [icon]108[/icon]: In Red and Blue go to the gatehouse to the west of Celadon and go upstairs (I believe this is the location, but it is in the upstairs of some gatehouse). The guy will ask you for a Slowbro if you want his Lickitung named Marc (I think... I forgot). Lickitung is a bad Snorlax who cannot blow up (ironically now it can and gets the strongest Explosion) >.< In Yellow they are all over Unknown Dungeon. [icon]122[/icon]: I think it is in all three versions. You'll need Cut or access Vermilion City's Diglett Cave to get to the other side of Route 2. In a house, a man will trade you his Mr. Mime named Marcel for an Abra. I believe in Yellow you trade a Clefairy for a Mr. Mime. [icon]124[/icon]: In Red and Blue, you can trade a Poliwhirl for a Jynx in the house to the left of the Pokemon Center. In Yellow if Pikachu is happy enough you get a Bulbasaur ^^ [icon]129[/icon]: That man in the Pokemon Center near Mt. Moon sells it for 500. Get it if you want an early Gyarados... otherwise, just say no to an old pedophile and wait until Vermilion to get an Old Rod from the Fishing Guru (left house of the Pokemon Center), which gives you 100% chance to capture level 5 Magikarps anyhow... so yeah, that man rips you off. But I always get it just because I want an early Gyarados... considering there are NO wild Gyarados in this game, and the only Gyarados you see is Lance's (or your rival's in Red and Blue if your starter isn't Charmander) [icon]131[/icon]: It is easy to get this thing actually. In Silph Co. after you fight your rival (get key at 5th floor... teleporter near the bottom leads you to the place... get to 3rd floor and use the Card Key on your first left barricade and take the teleporter there), talk to the guy below your rival after you whoop him and claim your prize. Lapras is level 15 when you get her and she is a good Pokemon to teach HM03 Surf to. She is level 20 in FRLG. [icon]133[/icon]: It was supposed to be your starter in Yellow but you got stuck with that idiot Pikachu!!! WHY?!!! Anyhow go to Celadon City and go BEHIND the Pokemon Center and go left until you see a GIANT building. Now go in, and get to the top level and inside that mini house on the roof you will find a Pokeball containing a level 25 Eevee. [icon]137[/icon]: It is a prize at the Game Corner... only 9999 coins in Red and Yellow and the subsequent generations. Okay yeah, that's ALL your coins... and it definitely is not worth it. In Blue it is 6000 coins but at a lower level. So take your pick... either way, it isn't that great. [icon]138[/icon] [icon]140[/icon]: At the end of Mt. Moon that Super Nerd will challenge you. If you beat him (and you must) you get a choice between Helix and Dome fossil. Helix will get you Omanyte (looks like an Ammonite) while Dome will get you a Kabutops (looks like a Trilobite). Once you hit Cinnibar you can head to the lab to revive it. You get a choice of ONE. Honestly pick Omanyte, but both are not so great... but Omanyte is rather powerful and great defensively but that typing is a letdown. But Surf and Blizzard from 115 Special and that 125 Defense is rather great. Kabuto on the other hand... has no real physical attacks to take advantage of. Yikes! Both of them will be level 30... and they evolve at level 40. In FRLG they are both level 5. [icon]142[/icon]: In the Museum pay 50 and look at that old skeleton. That's Aerodactyl. Just kidding... you cannot even obtain that thing because it's long dead! You need Cut and get to the other entrance at Pewter's Museum. One of the scientists will give you an Old Amber. Now go to Cinnibar and revive it... and it will be level 30 with a 35 BP Wing Attack and Agility to raise its already high speed even more. Whoo hoo... and it learns Hyper Beam at level 54. In FRLG they are both level 5. [icon]143[/icon]: You need the Poke Flute to wake these lugs up. You have two chances to get it... one is at Route 12 the other is at Route 16. They are both level 30. Other Rarities: [icon]012[/icon]: They're not available in the wild, so get that Caterpie to evolve to a Metapod at level 7 and get it to become a Butterfree at level 10. No do not use a wild Metapod, because it will be stuck at Harden even as a Butterfree for some dumb reason X_X [icon]015[/icon]: Same deal here... get a Weedle and evolve it to Kakuna at level 7 and evolve it into Beedrill at level 10. Yes, this involves ACTUAL training (gasp!) [icon]018[/icon]: You can find Pidgeys and Pidgeottos EVERYWHERE. It evolves into Pidgeot at level 36 though >.< [icon]026[/icon]: Raichus are available in the wild at the Unknown Dungeon and in Blue, the Power Plant. Alternately, just buy a Thunderstone for 2100 and evolve that Pikachu you found at Viridian Forest/Power Plant. [icon]031[/icon]: Nidoran Females evolve at level 16... then use that Moon Stone on it. Try evolving it before level 23. It learns Body Slam as a Nidoqueen ONLY at level 23. The Nidos are found on that route to the west of Viridian City or in Safari Zone (Yellow has them in that route between Cerulean and Rock Tunnel as well). [icon]034[/icon]: Same deal here... only it learns Thrash at level 23. Moon Stone the Nidorino once you get it at level 16 (or Safari Zone). The Nidos are found on that route to the west of Viridian City or in Safari Zone (Yellow has them in that route between Cerulean and Rock Tunnel as well). [icon]036[/icon]: Clefairies are only found in Mt. Moon and are quite rare. The ONLY way to get a Clefable is to Moon Stone it. Too bad it does not learn anything as a Clefable. Clefable is not so great in this game anyways. [icon]038[/icon]: This foxy vixen is only attained by getting a Vulpix and using the Fire Stone purchasable for 2100 at Celadon Department Store. Try evolving it at level 35 when it learns Flamethrower as a Vulpix. If you do not care for her, just evolve it for the sake of Pokedex completion. [icon]040[/icon]: Wigglytuff is another Moon Stoner... evolve Jigglypuff with a Moon Stone... and not learn anything. But you can get one in Unknown Dungeon in Red and Blue... those things are CREEPY! They have Down's Syndrome and will use Disable... but are utterly useless >.< I know Moon Stones are rare... and I have only found FOUR in the entire game (two in Mt. Moon, one hidden near the end, other visible, other in the other side of Route 2, and the other in the Game Corner Rocket base) so use them only if you want to. Otherwise, you can catch a wild Wigglytuff and end up managing to save one while you evolve the other three Pokemon. [icon]045[/icon]: Evolve Gloom with a Leaf Stone. [icon]054[/icon] [icon]055[/icon]: In Yellow they are ONLY available in that lake in Route 8 (above Vermilion). You might even find wild Golducks there if you're lucky. In the other two versions they are more common. [icon]059[/icon]: Fire Stone that Growlithe... and not learn anything >.< [icon]060[/icon] [icon]061[/icon] [icon]062[/icon]: Get a Good Rod at Fuschia to fish out Poliwags (or Goldeen)... both at level 10. Evolve into Poliwhirl at level 26 I believe... or use Super Rod to fish out level 23 Poliwhirls (in Red and Blue Super Rod's maximum levels are level 23) and use the Water Stone to get a Poliwrath... who still cannot learn anything >.< [icon]071[/icon]: Use that Leaf Stone on Weepinbell... but try not to until you learn Razor Leaf at level 40ish (!!!!) ... but if you don't care for that just evolve it. [icon]073[/icon]: Tentacool galore in the sea routes! They are all level 5-30... in multiples of 5. They evolve into Tentacruel at level 30... who is one of the few poisons that are usable in RBY. [icon]078[/icon]: In Red and Blue find one Ponyta in Abandoned House and train until it is level 40 to evolve it. In Yellow they are at level 17ish instead of level 30ish and are found in the grass in Cycling Road. Good luck getting that thing to level 40 X_X [icon]091[/icon]: Water Stone those Shellders you fish out with the Super Rod... [icon]097[/icon]: Drowzees are found in the route to the right of Vermilion (Route 11 I think)... but evolving them takes until level 28 (or was it 33?) I forgot... but they are also catchable in the Unknown Dungeon in Red and Blue. [icon]102[/icon] [icon]103[/icon]: Get an Exeggcute in the Safari Zone and evolve it with a Leaf Stone. Learns Stomp at level 28 and nothing more. [icon]111[/icon] [icon]112[/icon]: Safari Zone for a level 25 Horn Attacking Rhyhorn that evolves at level 42... insane >.< Alternately wait until Unknown Dungeon for Rhydon. [icon]113[/icon]: Tough to find and catch in Safari Zone. I found a level 9er once in Yellow. They are also in Unknown Dungeon so wait until there. [icon]114[/icon]: Trade Venonat for one to the lady in Cinnabar Lab... or find one in the grass patch below Palette Town. [icon]115[/icon]: Find one in Safari Zone. Sorry there are no other options >.< [icon]118[/icon] [icon]119[/icon]: Good Rod for level 10 Goldeens. Super Rod for Seakings or evolve Goldeens... [icon]120[/icon] [icon]121[/icon]: Fish out Staryus via Super Rod in Seafoam Islands and Water Stone Staryus to evolve them... but they do not learn anything >.< [icon]123[/icon]: Safari Zone in Red and Yellow or Game Corner them [icon]125[/icon]: Red only... at Power Plant... with just Quick Attack and Leer >.< [icon]126[/icon]: Blue only... at Abandoned House... with just Ember >.< [icon]127[/icon]: Safari Zone in Blue and Yellow or Game Corner them [icon]128[/icon]: Tauros is only in Safari Zone... NOOOO!!! [icon]130[/icon]: Evolve a Magikarp at level 20. Sorry, that is the ONLY way so far. [icon]132[/icon]: Find them in Unknown Dungeon or in Route 15 [icon]134[/icon] [icon]135[/icon] [icon]136[/icon]: One Eevee per game, therefore only one choice... Water/Thunder/Fire Stone for respective eeveelution. [icon]147[/icon] [icon]148[/icon] [icon]149[/icon]: Game Corner it or go to Safari Zone and fish out via Super Rod. In Yellow you can even find a level 15 Dragonair... who is TOUGH to catch! Dratini evolves at level 30 and Dragonair evolves at level 55... good luck training that thing. Comparison [icon]023[/icon] [icon]024[/icon] [icon]043[/icon] [icon]044[/icon] [icon]045[/icon] [icon]056[/icon] [icon]057[/icon] [icon]058[/icon] [icon]059[/icon] [icon]123[/icon] [icon]125[/icon] [icon]027[/icon] [icon]028[/icon] [icon]037[/icon] [icon]038[/icon] [icon]052[/icon] [icon]053[/icon] [icon]069[/icon] [icon]070[/icon] [icon]071[/icon] [icon]126[/icon] [icon]127[/icon] Red Versus Blue [icon]023[/icon] [icon]024[/icon] < [icon]027[/icon] [icon]028[/icon] Reasoning: Sandslash is more defensive and possibly one of the best Ground types in game. Arbok is just a giant snake with wacky stats and Poison typing... which is BAD [icon]043[/icon] [icon]044[/icon] [icon]045[/icon] < [icon]069[/icon] [icon]070[/icon] [icon]071[/icon] Reasoning: Defensive Poison types... are bad here. Victreebel actually has the speed (well, better than Vileplume), has the same special and higher attack. It can survive Moltres's Fire Blast in this game as well. But both get hit hard by Psychic anyways... I'd rather do something and get KOd rather than just get KOd. So I suppose Victreebel wins here... but both are all right I guess. But if you want a grasser, just use Venusaur or Exeggutor. [icon]056[/icon] [icon]057[/icon] < [icon]052[/icon] [icon]053[/icon] Reasoning: Due to the way the critical hit system worked, Persian was known for its critical hit hax. Persian is rather scary in RBY... and Primeape is a fighter automatically making it fail. [icon]058[/icon] [icon]059[/icon] < [icon]037[/icon] [icon]038[/icon] Reasoning: Ninetales has more original movepool like Confuse Ray and stuff... and has that amazing special of 100! Arcanine has the better stats but no movepool to speak of. Ninetales all the way. [icon]123[/icon] = [icon]127[/icon] Reasoning: Both are horrid... makes me wonder why they even have a typing. Scyther's Wing Attack only has 35 BP in RBY >.< Oh yeah, and Pinsir used to know Slash in this game... but afterwards, it was never able to learn it. I wonder why. [icon]125[/icon] = [icon]126[/icon] Reasoning: Neither are entirely useful... but if you trade back from GSC, Electabuzz can get some useful moves like Ice Punch and Magmar with Thunderpunch. Magmar is a lot stronger but has less speed. I would say they are dead even.
  13. Q: Can the Generations interact with each other? A: The 1st and 2nd Generation games may communicate with each other, but the 3rd Generation can not communicate with either. Q: Were there Effort Values in the 1st and 2nd Generations? A: Yes, and in fact there were no caps on the amount of Effort Values a Pokémon could get. Q: In which Generations was Missingno. in? A: He was only available in the 1st Generation. Q: How can you catch Mew in 1st Generation? A: First go to the front door of the Underground West of Lavender. Go down and before the Gambler (He can not have been battled yet) sees you go to the menu and Fly to Cerulean City. Go North of Nugget Bridge and then East. Continue until you see the trainer with a Slowpoke (As a reference, http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~jdonald/pokemon/mewglitch_files/catchmew4.gif) he will see you then you have to battle him. After beating him, go to the menu and Fly to Lavender Town. Go West and the menu will pop up. Exit it and then Mew will appear at level 7. Q: How can you catch Celebi in 2nd Generation? A: Not in a legit manner. But using a Gameshark one can use the code 91C089DA to have Kurt give a GS Ball to you. You may then enter Ilex Forest and catch Celebi, but this may only be done in Crystal. There is a glitch that can give the player Celebi, the details are in this video: Q: When the 1st Generation was remade, was Missingno. removed? A: Yes, Missingno. was removed from the game in the remakes FireRed and LeafGreen. Q: Was there ever a difference in "shiny" Pokémon in the 2nd Generation? A: Not a significant difference. Q: What Pokémon are not available in the 2nd Generation? A: All 3rd Generation Pokémon and the following: All Kanto Starters, Legendary Birds, The Fossil Pokémon, Mewtwo, and Mew. Pokémon not catchable in Gold: Ledyba, Ledyan, Phanpy, Donphan, Delibird, Skarmory, Vulpix, Ninetales, Meowth, and Persian. Pokémon not catchable in Silver: Spinarak, Ariados, Teddiursa, Ursaring, Gligar, Mantine, Mankey, Primeape, Growlithe, and Arcanine. Pokémon not catchable in Crystal: Mareep, Flaafy, Ampharos, Girafarig, Remoraid, Octillery, Vulpix, Ninetales, Mankey, and Primeape. Q: What are significant differences in Yellow when compared to Red and Blue? A: In Yellow Pikachu is the only option for the first Pokémon and follows the trainer all of the time. It also allows the player to recieve Bulbasuar, Squirtle, and Charmander. All Gyms, except Pewter's Gym, are increased in level. Q: What are significant differences in Crystal when compared to Gold and Silver? A: Crystal allows the player the option of playing a girl for the first time. A new character known as Eusine is in the game looking for Suicune. Lugia and Ho-Oh are still catchable in the game, but at level 60 and Ho-Oh can not be caught until the Legendary Beasts are caught. Some Pokémon are available earlier than before, like Growlithe and Sneasel. There are differences to the messages given through the Pokégear from trainers and also a new channel is open. Recieving the final Badge forces the player to answer a quiz and they also recieve a Dratini with Extremespeed. Q: What are significant differences in Emerald when compared to Ruby and Sapphire? A: In Emerald the trainers have greener outfits. Pokémon move when sent out of their Pokéballs. Double battles can occur with any trainers as long as the trainers see the player at the same time. Gym Leaders may be challenged more than once to Double Battles. Steven is no longer the Champion, Wallace is the Champion. As Wallace, the former Sootopolis Gym Leader, is Champion his former mentor, Juan, takes on the position as Gym Leader. The player may choose to take a Johto starter from Professor Birch after they complete the Hoenn Pokédex. A Battle Frontier is added after the player beats the game. The Battle Frontier is a large island that consists of seven facilities with different rules; the facilities are as follows: Battle Factory, Battle Dome, Battle Pike, Battle Arena, Battle Castle, Battle Pyramid, and Battle Tower. There you go. As I think of more I will be glad to help.
