  1. Did you happen to notice where they put the DS once the distribution was running?
  2. I don't think the NewsBot was a refined as it could be, but the premise I still agree with. Discussion ought to be in one place, and the forums are a better place for it than any comments section.
  3. Yup that's what it is... Is there any point to this thread? For the record you can just convert a pokemon's national dex number to hex and get the same thing.
  4. Yeah there is a font, haha. Sorry you had to waste your time doing it manually. kazumi213 did some kind of black magic and got a complete typeface in TTF format. You can find it here. It doesn't include the dropshadow. I also noticed that just shifting the font doesn't result in a perfect reconstruction but IMO it's close enough to not warrant a whole new font. And yeah, Korean save files are not compatible like the other languages. Don't take my word for it here, but I swear that the wonder card offsets were the same. (Despite some other things obviously being different.)
  5. Well actually there's nothing to google. If you try migrating from a retail GBA game to D/P/Pt running on your slot-1 card it will work fine. Having a slot-2 card actually only complicates the process, so no need to get one of those. =) You can backup and restore saves on your retail GBA games via a slot-1 homebrew app called GBA Backup Tool (author is Rudolph). After you have the save with the pokemon you want migrating is no different than if you had a retail 4th gen game, as I said.
  6. I wouldn't be quite that harsh, I'd love to have something like that. I just don't think it's particularly possible. As for you two going on about GBA>NDS. Pal park? Hello? You can even do it in an emulator now. EDIT: Yeah a program would be nice from a saving-time perspective, and that's more than enough reason to do it, but it's not impossible to do without -- for any of you.
  7. VBA has been ported to wii, however since it's a port I doubt anyone would have even considered functionality like this (it obviously wouldn't have worked on the PC version). I'm not sure if this is the case, but if the end goal is just to get pokemon from a save file to your retail cart there are easy enough ways to do that with just a slot-1 flashcard.
  8. Now that's the way to do it. Simple and easy. Props! Might have to try for myself.
  9. I am as well, but even if there is some kind of generic met location like link trade, I don't believe people would find that helpful. If you think about it the whole reason anybody would want to revert their NDS pokemon back is to get them to some kind of "untouched" state. Filling in the blanks with generic information really isn't in that same spirit. I think it would be possible to do this, but not without being able to remember a few crucial details about the pokemon before it was migrated.
  10. What's going on with the width of some (but not all) posts? If this is intentional, I've gotta say it's a very poor choice and should be reverted. If not, please fix asap! =) EDIT: Screenshot on the off chance you have no idea wtf I'm talking about.
  11. You've got it a bit backwards. The reason modern console games are identified as NTSC-J, NTSC-U, or PAL is because they need a separate television to function, and they only output a TV signal encoded in either one or the other (PAL or NTSC). When it comes to ISOs it's important to have the three categories not so much as an indicator of language, but because those represent the 3 unique discs released for most games. People don't just leave it at NTSC and PAL because there's usually a Japanese-only and an English-only release. It's not broken down just by language because PAL discs and some NTSC-U discs contain the same game in multiple languages. It's all about identifying the distinct ISOs.
  12. I'm not sure such a thing is possible (converting NDS to GBA pokemon). Data that's a part of all GBA pokemon is permanently lost during migration, such as the original GBA met location.
  13. No, using applocale won't help because it's not a Korean application (it's Japanese). You'll have to use a different editor like Grovyle's.
  14. I also have the 6.4 version translated by GSD. It came in handy a couple times since there's no other GBA save editors that I know of; however it being another poorly made program by a Japanese guy really turned me off. Still, this is a good find that could be useful.
  15. Okay, sorta makes sense. Guess you'd have to find where the language indicator is and edit it, if possible. Not sure if anyone wants to put that much effort into it, but it's an option.
  16. Thanks. I disabled dual-core and it's been working. I'm not entirely certain that when it "wasn't working" before it wasn't just taking a while to get to the health and safety screen; my CPU's not the speediest. I'm not sure I understand. You say the Colo save has been converted to American, the GBA cart is English, and presumably the Colo disc itself was American. Why would you receive a message stating that the cart isn't American when it obviously is? It would make sense to me if it said "This is not a Japanese game pack.", but I don't think it'd say that unless you were playing Colosseum in Japanese.
  17. Best spinoff ever. I agree that another one should be made, instead of the crap they're shoveling out now. (When it comes to spinoffs.)
  18. Well I tried it and it doesn't seem to work. says my save is corrupted after the initial hookup and refuses to go any further. Lame. Are you sure Colo locks the region on the GBA game down? BTW have you gotten to run in Dolphin?
  19. I will probably do some transfers for research purposes, take it apart, then throw it in a drawer where it will lie unused for years. Arrrgh!
  20. I'm not sure how similar the process is to palparking, but it's possible that it'd work if the save is accessed the same as is is in-game. (Saving on a 3in1 works just fine.) I have a 3in1 and I'm now curious, so I'll try it. Just have to get it working first as I've had nothing but problems with the battery.
  21. Download a hex editor (I use HxD, it's free) and just select everything past 0x80000 like Grovyle91 said, and delete key.
  22. First off, your save file shouldn't be 1MB. The proper size for any 4th gen pokemon save is 512KB. Either the savetype autodetection in your flashcard is bad, or you set it to the wrong size. I'm not sure how you converted down to 512 KB but it appears it wasn't done correctly. I got it to work by just chopping the extra 512 KB off the end. You can download the fixed file below. test.sav
  23. I second the above post.
  24. A flash cart like an ezflash 3in1 would be handy for that. The reason I ask about the screenshots is that yesterday I backed up my Pokemon disc and it didn't seem to be running in Dolphin. It wasn't too high-priority or I'd have searched around more, but seeing those nice shots just got me wondering...
