  1. (Codr and Bond697 are going to kill me for saying this.) You could try to see if Pokesav DP properly edits your save. I saved and it didn't crash. But depending on your cart it might make the save not load. Also, be sure you're using Wood R4 if you're not.
  2. I don't actually know, but maybe the Free Space just points to a particular item in the bag. So when item x's quantity became 0, it was no longer listed in the free space. If you really care about the items you lost, you can make another code to add them back.
  3. The Pokecheck admins can see it. Otherwise the OP wouldn't say that it doesn't have to be public.
  4. You can try to compile on VirtualBox, if you don't want to actually install Linux. Then again, most everyone has Windows.
  5. You could use PokeGTS.us, but you could also download a pkm from Pokecheck, edit it with Pokegen to remove the ribbon, then upload it again to Pokecheck to add it to your game.
  6. Updated to allow developers make plugins for generating ARDS codes.
  7. Are you using Notepad? If so, use Wordpad or something similar. There's a chance PPTXT isn't separating lines the exact way used in Windows. (Windows uses a Carriage Return and a Line Feed, if you use one or the other, line breaks won't display properly in Notepad but will in some other text editors.) If not, which text editor are you using?
  8. The .dmp file contains info useful to the developer as to why the program crashed. Please upload it using the forum's attachment feature. Click "Go Advanced" if you're using Quick Reply.

  10. I'll have to try it out later once there's a compiled release. Don't feel comfortable giving out personal info to Qt just to compile this.

  12. So you want to make a ROM hack? First, you need a ROM to hack. It would be illegal to download one, but there are other ways to get a ROM. There's 4 major ways you can get a ROM, in order of speed (descending): USB Backup Device Slot 2 flashcart Slot 1 flashcart + EZ Flash 3in1 Slot 1 flashcart + Wi-Fi Note that 2, 3, and 4 all require that you use a DS lite (or original DS). Now for the details of each: 1. USB Backup Device There's several out there that you could find with a web search, but for ROM backups, I recommend the SMS4. I won't go into details of any others unless anyone asks. Chances are, if you have a USB backup device intended to back up ROMs, you would know. If you already have a USB backup device like the NDS Backup Adapter Plus or R4i Backup Adapter, these do not support backing up ROMs. 2. Slot 2 flashcart You have at least two choices. I recommend the NDS Backup Tool Slot 2 by Rudolph (not the red nosed). There's also a newer tool called Wood Dumper. I haven't tried it, but it looks good. 3. Slot 1 flashcart + EZ Flash 3in1 If you don't have a slot 2 flashcart but happen to have an EZ Flash 3in1, then you can use NDS Backup Tool 3in1. It will take significantly longer than the above tools, because it has to Erase the NOR Write a portion of the ROM (after you swap the flashcart with your game) Ask you to restart the tool Write the NOR to your flashcart If your ROM is over 32 MB, it will repeat this process until complete. 4. Slot 1 Flashcart + Wi-Fi Do you have lots of time? I hope you have, oh, say 12 hours to let this process go. Wi-Fi backup tools let you use your computer and your DS Lite compatible Wi-Fi to backup your ROM with the DS's very slow wireless chip. Be aware that the DS lite doesn't support WPA (which is what most people have). It only supports unsecured and WEP (which is more of an inconvenience to hackers than security). But if you happen to have compatible Wi-Fi, I recommend Rudolph's NDS Backup Tool Wifi, but it's more of a hassle to set up than Wood Dumper. NDS Backup Tool Wifi connects to your computer. Wood Dumper lets your computer connect to it. For NDS Backup Tool, refer to the readme in Pokedoc's Wi-Fi save backup tool. For Wood Dumper, find an FTP client (Windows Explorer has OK FTP support) to connect to: ftp://[ip displayed in Wood Dumper]/ If you have any questions, feel free to ask. But remember: downloading ROMs is illegal and could land you with severe legal consequences.
  13. Have you ever wanted an event in your game, but couldn't because it was hosted far away, say New York or San Francisco or some other big city that's far away from the small town you live in? Maybe it was a Wi-Fi event that you waited until the last second to download then forgot, so you missed it. Well, don't let that get in the way of obtaining events! Guested, Nigoli, and various other contributors work hard to collect events for you to add to your game. But how do you add a *.pgf or *.pcd file or whatever to your game? There's 3 major ways: Save Editing Action Reply Codes GTS Hacks And now I'm going to give details on each so you'll know just how to do it! I. Save Editing This is the undisputed best way to add event wonder cards to your game. First, you'll need access to your save file. If you're playing on an emulator or a flashcart, you already have access. If not, I have a handy guide detailing most ways of accessing your save file. [Link]. Once you have access to your save file, open it using Pokegen. Go to Tools -> Mystery Gifts, open your wondercard (*.pgf or *.pcd), and add it to one of your wonder card slots. Then save, restore your save using the method you used earlier, and there you go. You just received an event you missed (or perhaps one that you downloaded early because someone leaked it)! Either way, you're done! II. Action Replay Codes It's more likely you'll have an Action Replay than one of the devices needed to get your save, because Action Replays can be found at your local video game or department store. Here's what you have to do once you have an Action Replay: Note: Unless I missed an update or something Pokegen does not currently support generating codes for Black 2 or White 2. If you're using either of those games, you'll have to use a GTS hack for now until another workaround is introduced. 1. Open Pokegen 2. Set the target game under Options -> Target Game to, well, the game you're using. 3. Add a wonder card with Tools -> Mystery Gifts 4. Go to Tools -> Code Generator 5. Make sure you have the proper language and game selected 6. Choose what buttons you want to press to activate your code 7. Check Mystery Gifts 8. Click Export if you want to use the ARDS Code Manager to add the codes to your Action Replay, or Generate if you're going to add them another way. 9. (If you clicked generate) Note the drop down box above the text box to the right. You'll want the codes for Used Wondercard IDs and whichever slot you added your wonder card to. And there you go. You have an ARDS code to give you the event. Be sure to talk to the delivery man in the Pokemart (4th gen) or Pokémon Center (5th gen). III. GTS Hack If you made it here, then you either don't want to buy an Action Replay, or are trying to get your event onto Black 2 or White 2. First, you must obtain a .pkm corresponding your wondercard. If you have a .pcd (4th gen), you can use Pokesav to extract a .pkm from the wondercard. Then upload it to your game using your choice of GTS hack. Try Pokecheck.org or Pokegts.us. You should find instructions on either site. If you have a .pgf (5th gen), then there currently isn't a simple tool to get a .pkm from the wonder card. For now, search Pokecheck, or even the internet for a Pokémon that corresponds to the event you want. Once you've found one, you can use Pokegen to make subtle changes to it (perhaps its OT will always be yours, so you can change that to your OT info) then upload it to your choice of GTS hack. If/when a tool is released to extract a .pkm from a .pgf wonder card, I'll be sure to update this guide! What you could also try is to use an emulator to grab your event in-game, and extract the resulting .pkm. Not that I'm telling you to find a ROM for the emulator, but if you just happen to have one lying around on your hard drive that totally wasn't illegally downloaded after reading a guide that didn't tell you to download one. There are other legal ways, that... would let you get your save as well... And that's the end of the guide! If you have any questions about any particular step, feel free to ask!
  14. Then how are you using Pokegen which is only supported on Windows?
  15. Are you using the correct region program? If so, post the code.
  16. Are you using Wood R4? If not, use it, since your cart probably supports it.
  17. If you don't see anything in the General Rom Info thread, try exploring some of the other narcs. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?24589-B2W2-General-ROM-Info
  18. Try fewer changes between saving. If that doesn't work, upload the original save file so the developer can take a look at it if he has time.
  19. Is there a .dmp file anywhere? If so, upload it. If not... -What OS are you on? -What are you using to load the ROM (which emulator/flashcart)? -What changes did you make?
  20. There should be a .bak file with the same name as the save you edited. Rename that to .sav (or .dsv depending on whether you directly edited the .dsv) and compare to see if there really is a big progress loss. If so, upload both files (the backup and the edited saves) so we can look at them.
  21. Could you post a screenshot of the error. If you're using Windows 7 or above, open the start screen/menu and search for the Snipping Tool. Then upload the screenshot file. The option for attachment will be visible if you click "Go Advanced" when replying.
  22. Not everyone has oodles of time. He probably has more important things to do at the moment, so don't panic.
  23. We can't give you the ROM. That would be illegal. I'm not sure why your save was corrupted
  24. I don't know because your link is bad.
  25. This thread is for reporting faults, not for asking how to make something legal. But feel free to search the forums for how to fix trash bytes. (By the way, your Pokemon was deleted so there's nothing at your link.)
