neltazero Posted July 22, 2011 Author Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) I see. Since it make your life more difficult, then maybe I'll take it down soon if more harm was brought. Sorry for trouble. @axelschiffer: After you edited a trainer, just load the next/another trainer and the previous (edited) one will be automatically saved temporary on the program. The program will not make the permanent changes on your rom until you hit the save button. The main purpose of this tool is to help those who don't know how to extract the content of ROM/narc to edit the trainers. Those who had the knowledge/willing to do so/too much time/does not mind the extra work/play safe you can use Kazo's tool, as it's more lightweight and you might be more familiar with it. Also, if you found any bugs please notify here. Edited July 24, 2011 by neltazero
MickBooterhood Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Well, my ROM works 100% with all programs, emulators, etc., but your Trainer Editor says it is unable to open the ROM, possibly because the ROM's broken, but it isn't. Help?
neltazero Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 Can tell me the information of your ROM? Which language/version is it?
KazoWAR Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I am glad someone else is making there own tools. I am not the greatest programer so I can not always make tools that are always user friendly. If I could, all my B/W tools would be as simple as just opening the .nds file. I am actually hoping that people will make new and better programs to replace mine.
MickBooterhood Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Can tell me the information of your ROM? Which language/version is it? All I know it's a Euro Pokémon White Rom, has the file .nds. I don't quite know the version. :\ EDIT: It's working now afterall!

Actually all I did was just learn the structure of narc as well as the .nds file, and the rest was from the information gathered from all around the forum. All I know it's a Euro Pokémon White Rom, has the file .nds. I don't quite know the version. :\EDIT: It's working now afterall! Now I really want to know what actually happening.
MickBooterhood Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I don't know, yesterday it gave the error message, and this morning it worked! Oh, and neltazero, normally has the class PKMN Trainer - 40, but in the last battle it has Team Plasma - 101. If I trade the Team Plasma to the PKMN Trainer, does the music change and/or the mugshot disappears?
neltazero Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Hm, I never tried to change the class of the trainer before, so can't give you any definite answer here. Hope got someone who had tried it can give the answer on this.
MickBooterhood Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Wow, I'm proud to say your tool is absolutely good! Not that KazoWAR's is bad, but yours is the same efficient effect AND is easier to manage. Congrats on it!
Kaphotics Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 It probably changes the trainer background/music. I've been able to do it for battle videos, I assume it'd be the same for trainers with the "Unknown" value.
Andibad Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Trainer class is change: - Bgm - effect layer - mugshoot - front sprite trainer
Clear Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Just want to say thank you, and now I can get my Phantasm Difficulty started. As I require DW Abilities for most named characters. Can I ask how does the alternate formes works? For example, when I tried to give Giratina to Shantel, it gave me 0,1,1,1. I still gave it a Grievous Orb for it to be "legal", but I would like to know how it works.
neltazero Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 By right the program will give you the number of choices based on how many formes the Pokemon has. And since I want to make it simpler job for me, I put the formes simply as number instead of the name of the forme. You can still refer to sites such as bulbapedia o serebii. As for why Giratina give you 0,1,1,1, I think it's a bug and I'll look into it. However, since I'm quite busy with my life recently, I can't promise to release an update on any given time.
Clear Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Also, another thing is that the rom keeps breaking, is there anyway to fix that?
neltazero Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 Can you provide any information, such as what you did, and how it break, as well as which version of the ROM you're using? Unless I know what/where to start looking I won't be able to fix it. Edit: Before I post any update, I think I will post a guide/tutorial on how to use the program.
Clear Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I have been using a cracked ROM to edit this, I believe this version is the Union Room fix version as that was the last thing I need. The game still loads fine, the edits are still in place, buuuut, I can't load it in the editor anymore. Does this editor only work good in a clean ROM?
neltazero Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 Not really. I'll need the rom to see what's going on.
Drayano Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Just wanna say that this tool is working beautifully; I used it for the whole of the third version of my hack and it made it so much easier to set abilities/genders/formes and such. Only thing missing from Kazo's was the difficulty of the trainer; couldn't see that option anywhere so I had to use both tools interchangeably for that, but otherwise it's pretty much perfect.
MickBooterhood Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Do you know if it would be possible to set up a new name to the Trainer? I'm trying a new project here on my ROM and wanted to change the name of a Trainer at Route 18 (I think).
Oxnite Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Do you know if it would be possible to set up a new name to the Trainer? I'm trying a new project here on my ROM and wanted to change the name of a Trainer at Route 18 (I think). Use PPTXT for that, which is a tool to hack Pokémon Black & White in-game text.
MickBooterhood Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Yes, I know, but PPTXT doesn't change the trainers name. I think. If there was a guide for what which Narc entry is for (e.g. a/0/0/2's 1 is for the menu etc), so I don't know exactly all that PPTXT can do besides editing dialogues and menu phrases.

Yes, PPTXT is able to change the Trainer's name. It's narc entry a/0/0/2, file 190. However, a list with encrypted text will show up. Please take a look at this topic, question 6 for information on decryption.
Drayano Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Or, alternatively, just stick this list in 190 since I had to make it when I was working on my own hack. Abacus Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I haven't been following the updates on Trainer Editors for quite some time. Is it still deemed impossible to give the AI's pokemon EVs at all?
Exaskryz Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 What does the Custom Moves toggle do? I'm editing Bianca in Nuvema Town (Final) and I am changing her Pokemon. Since she uses custom movesets, I was wondering what will happen to her Pokemon's moves if I turn off custom. Will changing her Starter into Mewtwo leave Mewtwo with the starter's moves, or will Mewtwo pick up his own moves? And in the case of the latter, is it random moves, or that last 4 moves he could learn up to his level?
