Checksum is calculated for the area from 0x56C to 0x6BB, so exactly 336 Bytes. The bytes before and after that location won't corrupt the wc if you edit them. Though there's a second part a few offsets after the first one which also belongs to the wondercard event. That one also should have its own checksum. The checksum should be included in the said area. But somehow I believe it's computed different to what Taka is talking about. The algorithm he mentioned is exactly the same as the one used to validate each save section. The are at least to other algorithms used for checksums ( one for pkm data the other for injected e-Reader trainer data). The one used to validate save data as well as the other two dont seem to match here. If I didn't make a mistake I would guess the checksum is different in this case.

On location is current save the other is backup/previous save hence there are 2 of them. The save has 2 main blocks with 57344 (0xE000) bytes each. Each block is seperated into 14 sections with 4096 (0x1000) bytes. In each section, 0xFF4 is the section ID, 0xFF6 - 0xFF7 is the checksum and 0xFFC - 0xFFF is the save counter. Depending on the save counter you could determine the current save.

Wow, that is a great tool you made Team Fail! Actually there are more e-Cards already dumped and out there on the internet. But they are all in raw format and not available as bin files as far as I know. Though you could decode them to bin with Caitsith2's nedcenc.exe they wouldn't have the same format as yours. But they contain the proper vpk data which is still usefull in my opinion! Just remove the first 81 bytes and the last 98 bytes of the decoded bin to get the vpk. This can then be "fixed" by recreating the 54 bytes header to get a proper bin in usable format. Here's my fixed version of the Ginema Berry. Maybe you already know, but Japanese e-Card data can only be used properly on Japanese e-Readers since the game will just get an loading error when trying to receive the data on an English game. Officially the codes shouldn't be given out until April 1st. However if you already got a code you can already redeem it. This was also true for some other serial code distributions.

The wondercards of last years movie Diancie and Darkrai (only Japan, Taiwan and Korea) that were contributed here also had that byte set to 01. Maybe this applies for all movie event distributions?

Eon Ticket codes are now available on Nintendo of Taiwan's Facebook page. It was announced that the three Johto starters are going to be distributed via Pokemon Bank from February 27th to November 30th 2015. Since there have been several people asking me for help to find the Mirage Island value in their save files I wrote a little programm (in C) that searches for it! More in this thread

They are using bits to store the medal dates. The date is C30C which is 1100001100001100 in binary. the first 5 digits is the day 11000 = 24 the next 4 digits is the month 0110 = 6 and the last 7 digits is the year 0001100 = 12. So the date is June 24th 2012.

There is an annoying bug in Legacy Editor.exe for Windows. Accidentally I loaded a save with no game started yet. As a result I got the error message window. Now I can close the left window but not the right one. Whether I click on the cross or on open, the error message wil reappear. I tried loading another save and closing the whole editor, but those windows will still remain there. I had to use task manager to get rid of them.

Unfortunately not. The last 2 bytes of the PID should be 00 00. That are 16 digits, while the binary for the gender is only 8 digits.

Sounds like you have found a bug there...... There was an update released a few hours ago. If this is really a bug it might be fixed through this update. Scan this QR Code to find it in the eShop.
