  1. Another idea (but not that great) could be a region with almost no new common pokemon but alot of new special pokemon, like unown, castform, lapras, snorlax, fossils, feebas, ditto, smeargle.... but nah... sounded better 3mins ago By the way I don't think there is a problem in making new legendaries. One just has to consider that for example Palkia didn't create space, nor a region... it's just rare and capable of altering space a bit. Otherwise every region would worship the most godly legendary. But they all just talk about their native legendaries and made up stories about how those created their region And it's not like there are no more special abilities for legendaries left. Right now I can think of: Temperature (somethin to do with seasons also?), Gravity, Light... Or a legend duo representing day and night... surely there's plenty of stuff I didn't think of... And considering there are still types of which there are no legendaries yet, like bug, fighting or poison.. bug trio ftw?
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP24KR2nOzg T__T I mean WTF... It really makes Pokemon look like total bs q.q It would be awesome if there was another Pokemon anime. One that is based on the games more than just including the same characters and locations. A story of a totally different Character every 10 or so episodes would rock. It wouldn't be....BORING
  3. when I first play a game, I always trade all starters to 1 game <3 But otherwise: in the old times Sqirtle was absolutely my favourite while now there are no Pokemon I dislike and I find something genious on every pokemon. It would really be a hard decision to make, but considering I could get a Raikou, it would probably be Squirtle LOL Altough I start to like Entei more because it's so underpowered and noone likes it q.q I like all the starters, but I would not choose Charmander, just because that's the one for poeple who want FAIRE DRAGONZ AAAAAA BURN... wtf
  4. The first generation was... well the original generation. The second was: -an expansion of the first -PURE (I mean how alot of the new Pokemon had a softer/cuter tone. Also applying to other details than jsut the designs, like creating actual grass pokemon which are not part POISON. All the pre-evolutions aka babies. The starters being pure types through all 3 stages and so on) The third can be described with: -fresh new start -EXOTIC (all possible locations ranging from volcano over desert, islands, to a city on trees... more rarer type pokemon like dragons, ghosts, dark (and more cool combinations)...) The theme of the 4th generation was openly mentioned in interviews by official people: -ULTIMATE (extremely powerful legendaries, and alot of em... alot of strong evolutions to older pokes, very big region, almost all pokemon available one way or another etc.) SO what could be the theme GF is going to use for future generations? My ideas: -BALANCE this would mean very few new water and normal pokemon for example, some highly needed evolutions instead of just the cool ones (so farfetch'd, luvdisc etc), gyms using types which arent in every region (theres no dark gym yet, but 4 fight, 3 electric, 3 water 3 rock...) new pokemon with rare competitive abilities, improving alot of older pokes movesets to make them useful... =O?
  5. I love it how every pokemon is so well thought out. Their designs are superior to any other IMO. I mean they look cute and cool at the same time without being overdone with 859237542309 spikes or 50% of them being DARK EVIL DRAGON OF DOOM etc... Then there's the complexity of 17 types, alot of strategic game mechanics like IV/EV, natures, egg moves and what not. The people I met who dislike Pokemon, the reason is always that they saw the anime and never heard of games. So I can understand them in a way. I can't stop laughing at the bullcrap and nonsense when I see an episode. And it also makes me sad when they ignore how the pokemon world works in the games 90% of the time and make up their own logic. <.<
  6. GS were the first pokemon sequels, so it was fitting to create the then so called "new pokedex" with all pokemon ever existing. But now it looks more like "we're gonna let all those who have not played pokemon back then, expirience the Johto region through remade Johto games". Those games will be part of the 4th generation. This means that at some point in the game you'll get the national dex, which will enable you getting data of pokemon including starters from other regions anyway, if you get my point. I think it would be less confusing for everyone who plays the games like a new region if there is an actual Johtodex and you are given the national dex before going to Kanto... maybe I'm just being to much perfectionist. I am aware of the Lance problem. Another such example would be Koga's Muk, if Grimer is taken out because it's found exclusively in Kanto. But the simple solution to those would be, obtaining the national dex just before the E4 (meeting Oak who tells you of his Sinnoh journey etc). It would be really disappointing if they are going to make it a direct remake again, with Houndour and co. at the end of the "new pokedex" because they're Kanto exclusive. And the "see all Sinnoh pokes" thing isn't really a problem IMO. All 3 times I played through DPPt, I was always missing just about 6 Pokemon after the E4. You just have to battle most of the trainers in the areas you get access to. I like this feature more than the old motto Catch them all. It's not difficult to achieve and therefore gets you a realistic reward. Other trainers that use Kanto starters in Johto (many have 1 of each line) could get any suiting replacements, there are enough Pokemon to choose from. It always felt odd when encountering a trainer using Kanto starters to me. =<
  7. That's my made up most logical johtodex: And the ones I left out: -I took out the RBY exclusives, and some which are only in 1 unimportant place* -those only found in Kanto -Kanto starters, fossils and legendaries *Rhyhorn was originally only 5% in the shortened victory road, nidos take up 6 spaces and are only on the route near national park etc. In the Johtodex I moved those which should get a place in Johto like Murkrow etc, instead of leaving them at the end. So, cause I removed the fire mammals (Growlithe,Vulpix) anyway, I put Houndour in their place in the dex, which I find is a cool idea <3 Sneasel obviously went to the ice cave ones etc I put slugma in grimers place and thought it could be catchable in the burnt tower so this fits as koffing is 1st encountered there. The most probable to me at the moment would be the 195 without new stages plus 6 of the ones I took out (2*3 or 3*2), so this would make it 200+celebi, which sounds great. those 6 could be either: -nidorans -drowzee spearow grimer -6 of the new stages (yanmega ambipom etc, but not those that evolve in special sinnoh places for ex.) OR option1 or option2 plus some new stages, bringing it up to 210+1 (lol plat style) EDIT: They can easily leave out the newer stages obviously by not making following things available before acquiring the national dex: -dusk/shiny stone (Honchkrow,Mismagius,Togekiss) -incenses (Bonsly,Wynaut,Azurill,Mantyke,Happiny) -magmarizer/electrizer (Magmortar,Electivire -razor fang/claw (Gliscor,Weavile) -dubious disc (Porygon-z) -ice/moss rock (Glaceon,Leafeon) -mt.coronet (Magenzone) -move relearner (Mamoswine) 4 Pokemon are left, which if excluded will end up like those in FRLG ("It evolves...it stopped??") Yanmega Ambipom Lickilicky Tangrowth
  8. IMO they were 3 cat-like pokemon, same species, no elemental abilities. After all didn't they gain them from the lightning strike, the burning and the rain? So maybe Persian?
  9. The poll is stupid =P One can get excited about it, even though it's a stupid game! Maybe nintendo wants to make it a proper game this time.
  10. If they make a Johtodex, it will most likely not include Kanto starters, legendaries or fossils. This would mean no Charizard and Aerodactyl for Lance LOL So I'm starting to doubt they'll really give much thought to this game... sadly q_q I see it slowly. It's going to be a remake, with as little work done as needed for it to make $ T.T
  11. I was being sarcastic lol, but yeah
  12. I know. But I still hope they will actually make it less a 100%remade and more an improved Johto game, where they'd actually try to make it more logical. The original always seemed to me like it was made in a real hurry. But if it's going to be a remake like FRLG were, then this thread is nonsense anyway as the gyms won't change for not 1 Pokemon for any trainer in them. And you're right about Clefairy (I just remembered the gym interior looks like a huge Clefairy LOL) and Scyther. But at least a Snubbull seems really fitting to me =) It's a pink normal Johto poke. I somehow doubt it they'd again make your pokedex say New pokedex, Old pokedex. I'm all for the idea of an actual Johtodex for this region. Without any after 2 gen pokemon Morty, Claire etc will again have extremely versatile teams. And yeah I was somewhat surprised when I realised they didn't use Skarmory for Jasmine But you have to agree this applies to Heracross too. After all there's a Fighting gym and an E4 fighting member.
  13. 1st I think Gamefreak will try to avoid giving gym leaders Pokemon that are already used by E4 members, like Forretress, Gyarados and Jynx here. It would make more sense to give Jasmine a Skarmory anyway =P One such thing also is how Sneasel isn't used by Karen, probably because your rival has one. 2nd Hell yeah the gym leaders need to get buffed As I said in the other thread (about wild Johto pokemon), I hope they'll make Johtodex, which will contain at least 1 Hoenn ghost and dragon poke. With just Johto and Kanto pokemon like the original, Morty is again left with 2 lines and same for Claire... What I think would fit perfectly: Falkner Bugsy Withney Morty Chuck Jasmine Pryce Claire Will Koga Bruno Karen Lance .... o_O I don't have any clue what to do with Lance, but a dragon team is not realistic (no thanks, to Kanto starter and fossil pokemon), maybe he'll be a more regular champion as in having a versatile team, adding a Blissey, Scizor or Ampharos, LOOL, but this seems even less realistic
  14. It'll highly possibly be a key item obtained via Wi-fi distribution. =) I hope there will be some more event pokes like that besides Celebi. After all DPPt have 3. Adding a Jirachi event location and such woudl be cool ^^ *coughkantowhiterockcough*
  15. I was like: "Ah... this was so obvious..." Because for the last year it was really just a matter of when not if. An hour after being "That's what I was telling the whole time <.< why is everyone so surprised?" I finally went: "Yay, I wanted many years to be able to play an updated Johto <3<3<3<3"
  16. I really hope they don't do those dumb Johto pokemon locations again. I mean stuff like Houndour and murkrow being on only 1 route in Kanto where there's barely any grass.... For the dex, they better make a Johto dex instead of the New pokedex with 251 Pokemon. -The Johtodex would obviously have all the 100 Johto Pokemon, no Kanto starters, legends and fossils. -Then some 30 ultracommon Kanto Pokemonw hich are in every region, like tentacool, zubat, geodude -all the Kanto pokes which are part of Johto evolution lines (aka put Oddish in, leave Bellsprout out etc) -20 Hoenn Pokemon, especially some rare typed ones, like ghost-> Shuppet maybe (so we dont end up with Morty having 4 Gastly-line Pokemon etc), like a Bagon or at least Altaria (lol look at Claires pokemon), a Mightyena for Karen(?) perhaps? -all the expanded-dex evolutions of Johto pokemon: Yanmega, Mamoswine, Mismagius, Ambipom etc So it would come near 200 maybe, that would be great and make Johto into a real region not some halfdone Kanto expansion.
  17. Like said, either change the EV distribution to be alot more random (but a sum of 510 of course), or so it will look like you EV trained it to have a useful distribution. A useful distribution would be, for a physical sweeper as example: atk 252/ 253/ 254 speed 252/ 253/ 254 hp 4/ 5/ 6 (so they're a sum of 510)
  18. Thanks That's what I meant by "type1 PID/IV" =) So I changed the IVs to some usable numbers, hit the "PID/IV" button, generate, and repeat until a useful nature appeared on one of the first few rows. So if I have chosen a generated row of "type 1" it's legal right? The main reason I had worries about if this process creates an illegal poke, was because I thought that maybe the birds have more limitation about this than normal legis, like how it was with the beasts in FRLG or something. Can another person verify that the birds stay legal if I use a type1 PID/IV thingy after changing IVs?
  19. You would have to check each pokedex entry individually in something like pokeeditDS, or they remain unchecked. They don't add to the Poketch function PokeHistory either. About the events: If you just put the key item in your bag nothing will change. To make them work, you have to enable mystery gift, add the wonder cards for the event and get the key items from the green man in the mart. Then they work. If you're lost with how to add a wondercard look at the site about this pokesav feature on the main page.
  20. I caught the birds on Platinum and like expected, they're crap. Will they still be considered legal if I change their IVs and pick a type1 PID/IV with the nature of my choice?
