  1. Actually for the formes...Turboblaze and Teravolt make perfect sense now ._. *facepalm*
  2. There is no way it's gonna lose it's Dragon type. Remember, unlike the Dimension trio, these legendaries are actually referred to throughout the game as legendary dragons. And Dragon is not their second but their main type. They are dragons before anything. Losing it's Ice type seems impossible too though, because Kyurem is covered in ACTUAL ICE, unlike Zekrom and Reshiram where their secondary types are much more vague. One thing would be an ability that in some way changes it's Ice type to Electric/Fire temporary, but I don't think new abilities are realistic. I mean they put the 2 moves into BW, but no ability.. unless it'll be impossible to go into wifi and stuff with the formes at all. But even then I don't know how realistic it would be to add things like abilities at this point. Stache you got most of it. Id only add that maybe Kyurem went into the cave and died, but then got struck by a freaky meteor that made it what it is.. Or idk. Just can't figure out where the meteor fits in. But from the games I got the feeling the dragons were around before already. Look at the formes again, put up art of Kyurem and Reshiram/Zekrom next to them. The basis is still Kyurem. The only thing it shares with the other two is simply the parts, ie generator, arms and wings, back of the head. I highly doubt it will "absorb" the other dragons. The generator tails like imitations instead of the real deal. And they're probably just enough to turn the lights on, not changing it's type. It's time for an Ice legendary to get on the stage anyway. Now that I think about it, Team Plasma supposedly created Genesect.. and with the Kyurem formes having this corrupt imitating look.. maybe you and N get your dragons as usual, but Ghetsis (I thought it was weird he didnt have a legendary dragon back then) knows way more about their backstory... and about Kyurem... so he gets his dragon too...and since it is essentially a powerless corpse of the original dragon, he tries to find a way to power it up a bit.. so he uses N as the pure noob again to get "power samples" for his plan >:B It all makes perfect sense for the first time to me right now actually. AND It also explains why Black Kyurem is on Black 2. Black: you=Reshiram, N=Zekrom... Ghetsis involves Ns dragon obviously, hence the Kyurem will be Black. and reverse.
  3. I see Tail Glow for Articuno in the first post... Long ago I have been wondering why on earth Ampharos, whos tail works as a lighthouse, never got that. Then I found out its japanese name is along the lines of Firefly Light.... First thing I'd insist on if I was anywhere near Gamefreak would be adjusting something much more basic than individual pokemon: "Summary of the changes and reasoning: --Ice resistant to Water attacks Ice desperately lacks resistances --Steel weak to Electric attacks Steel is far to good even with this Electric is one of the few types, strong only against 2 --Grass attacks neutral on Bug There's just too many types that resist Grass, and Bug is the only one where it's not a big deal --Ghost weak to Psychic attacks Why not? Ghost is the second best defensive type and Psychic could use a third advantage. Note they're strong both ways. --Poison attacksneutral on Ghost Ghost still defensively great With this Poison is only low against 3 types, still doing nothing to 1 --Dark weak to Poison attacks Poison desperately needs more advantages than over Grass Dark can deal with another weakness --Normal weak to Poison attacks Another buff to Poison on the offense, still far from making it a great attack type, but Normal doesn't become crap, and besides, it makes lots of sense, at least to me. --Ice resistant to Ground attacks Ice still an awful type that cannot switch in on anything safely. This one would realy help. Ground is one of the 2 best offensive types anyway. --Ice resistant to Dragon attacks And with this Ice is finally on par with the other not so good defensive types (Grass & Psychic), while Dragon is still one of the better offensives. --Rock resistant to Rock attacks Rock is the other one of the best 2 offensive types, so if Ground gets a nerf, Rock should too. Rock could use this resistance well, especially this one as it lowers Stealth Rock damage. And it makes perfect sense to resist itself seeing that Steel does the same. --Grass attacks neutral on Flying this would finally take it out of the worst attacking type situation. Flying doesn't mind. Gyara...does, but hey What's left now that sticks out the most is: -On the defense, Grass, Psychic and Bug are now the worst defensively but not that bad -On the offense, it's as balanced as possible. -And Steel is still in it's own league, the superior defensive type. So essentially it's balanced, except for steel being the best type. I couldn't figure out changes that would address these without changing relations that just feel correct, so this wouldn't be perfect, but closer than the current chart. It would fix the main issues." This would even things out a bit. Just imagine, suddenly, "defensive" and "Ice type" can be used in the same sentence outside of jokes. Some could actually switch into Earthquakes o___O After that, I wouldn't mind if they took a look specifically at some of the older pokes again. There was too many hybrids statwise, Pidgeot, Nidos etc etc.. who are horribly outshadowed by current standards. But there is even some types that seem like obvious choices but simply aren't there: Golduck - Water / Psychic Gastly/Haunter/Gengar - Ghost / Dark (apart from not learning a single Poison move but tons of Dark ones, this line has been THE promoter of night-time exclusive encounter since GS. I'm sure that would have been it's type if it was released at a later time) Pinsir - Bug / Fight (It needs a purpose to live. I used one in HGSS because I felt sorry for it. And look at that moveset O_O) Gyarados - Water / Dragon Beartic - Ice / Fight (I still don't get it.) The following ones I don't feel as confident about: Ninetales - Fire / Psychic Milotic - Water / Dragon Seviper - Poison / Dark Banette - Ghost / Dark Huntail - Water / Dark Gorebyss - Water / Psychic Luxio/Luxray - Electric / Dark Gothita/Gothorita/Gothitelle - Psychic / Dark Oh dear, I did not intend to add Dark to everything e___e The third thing I would do if I was in charge.. GIVE FLAREON ITS DAMN FLARE BLITZ. Like seriously lol.
  4. With the advent of the musketeers the whole thing became even less random and more clear. Palkia/Dialga/Giratina types turn out to just have fit the pattern coincidentally. Because actually the pattern wasn't continued by them but only now in gen V picked back up. Since generation 4 approach or theme was "ultimate", the plan was to finish the first 3 generations with a OMFG finish, which meant: -lots of evolutions -lots of big legendaries -lots of exotic and hax pokes -rest of new pokemon focused more on rare and specially obtained ones -biggest region -regular grass/water pokemon being mostly stuff from I-III instead of It was essentially what gen II was to gen I (bonus round), but to all gens before it instead and even more focused. But with all this, seems they also decided it was not a time for making a normal legendary trio, so instead they took the past 3 trios, squeezed them each into one pokemon conceptually, made this new trio of past trios the stereotypical legendary type of Psychic, and viola, Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie. Which makes me wonder if there will be another Psy (or trio of Ghost etc?) in a hypotethical gen 8 to "spiritually" represent the musketeers and the trios of 6 and 7. But yes heres a clearer picture of what pattern they seem to insist to even after 5 generations: It alternatingly adds 1 or 2 more types, while not using any type more than twice. This creates 8 unique trios. Which is enough for a thousand pokemon. And even after the thousand, you can just pick a different combination of starting types and get 8 more. The transparent types are just examples and not supposed to imply any actual prediction (except for Grass and Water, they are a given) Oh and regarding Keldeo. It really is amazingly similar to the other 3, but since IT IS an event pokemon, and even story-wise has a role of more like an apprentice or adoptee, I don't treat it as a proper member of the group, just like how Regigigas is a stronger Normal fourth Regi, yet we all obviously ignore its existence when talking about trios. BTW, Ive been gone long havent I.. anything new happening here? Any people? I might rewrite the first post sometime soon.
  5. I still stand behind this for making the most sense ever regarding the topic. The 3 sages guarding the Tin tower in Crystal have eeveelutions for crying out loud, its not Farfetch'd that the pokemon that died were Eevees owned by sages of the Brass tower. Especially when it's the only pokemon to evolve into enough different pokemon, even exactly any of the three types via evolution stones.
  6. Powered Forme. Oh you mean from which are known already oh shi.. Then.. How dare you ask me to choose between those? White. But geeeez they are so perfectly contrasting and Kyuremish. People go "oh lookz its fusion", but I argue they haven't actually taken a proper look at either the new formes, original, or Zekrom/Reshiram. Because this is no fusion. It is Kyurem with an energy source plugged on its tail finally to turn those lights on. The body shape, the lines on the body, the structure of its feet, the tail, that face, those teeth, the icy bits on its head.. Its great. It's Kyurem.
  7. Their english names aren't considered when pokemon are created tho. In japanese, Koffing is essentially called bad poisonous gas, and Weezing is double bad poisonous gas, since it has 2 heads after evolving. Choking seems to be an obvious english continuation, since I remember seeing several people making one and calling it exactly that.
  8. http://saiph-charon.deviantart.com/gallery/10575655 The project I'm doing for 3 years now, and the first that I may actually finish! Stats, evolutions, moves etc is all in the comments of each individual art.
  9. Cryogonal, comes from Hexagonal not Octagonal, since that's what Snowflakes are. The Flying demon trio is in japanese on the list. English are: Thundurus Tornadus Landorus Gabrodor. the -odor may also mean... odor. Gigalith, is literally a big rock alright. Connecting these 2 words is a refrence to megaliths, like ones in stone henge, times 1000. It's likely a coincidence, but you can find Excalibur in Drilbur and Excadrill. Karrablast. The Karrab part may be from scarab beetle Nice list The best Ive seen so far. Also, ArCHEOPS, is a refrence to the pharaoh Cheops. The biggest pyramid is named after him.
  10. @steel/ghost idea: I'm planing for a long time now to make one like that. Although levitate would probably be too good on that, since ground is one of the 2 only weaknesses of that combination. Let me list all my planned yet nonexisting type combinations: grass/dragon bug/dark (i thought it was such an obvious combo i just had to use it) bug/water (surskit! but you know, it's not even fully evolved) rock/fight ground/poison ground/dark (ive made fakemon with this one in every generation i made; the new croc is of this typing now finally btw) grass/electric grass/ghost (ghosts need some awesome variations like this ) fight/flying (only flying combo that doesnt exist yet) ice/poison ice/fight ice/electric ice/steel (those double weaknesses should hurt tho x___x) dark/fight dark/dragon steel/ghost water/ghost water/fire (impossible? nothing is ) fire/psychic ghost/psychic steel/poison fire/ghost rock/dragon (i hope the next fossil will really be part dragon now that we had water grass and bug already, and since its kinda obvious choice) dragon/electric bug/electric bug/psychic grass/steel electric/ground poison/rock psychic/dark colorful lol
  11. same difference? It's not the same, there is a difference. The first type is the main type, the other one is secondary, an additional type. Fire/Electric would very likely be more easily recognizable as Fire, and vice versa. Why do you all insist it doesn't matter? Just check it on existing pokemon, tehre's lots of examples. I'd love to see either of the 2 combinations, they both lack members with the type as secondary (only houndour ad chinchou others are main)
  12. I don't see whats wrong about them. If you mean to bring up Pidgey lines names, they're just that, names. For Gear, there has always been some pokemon like that, say Voltorb, Baltoy, Bronzor. And it could still very well evolve into something more interesting.
  13. What are you talking about? If anything, they get more and more original every generation. Generation I was the most lacking. Want examples? Alot of them barely change after evolving like only get bigger
  14. Flying/anything will never happen, because flying is exclusively a secondary type. It does matter in what order the types are listed. Just check it anywhere.
  15. The main legends are not Electric/Dragon and Fire/Dragon but Dragon/Electric and Dragon/Fire. Unlike the dimension legends from generation 4, which were element/dragon. If there is a third legend, it is going to be superior, hence it won't be a trio. The actual legendary trio will be weaker again it seems (like birds, cats, golems). Theres no reason why they would use the same electric fire ice trio from generation 1. The trio types changed by 1 or 2 every generation and theres still enough types to choose from. What we can say for sure is that one will be Rock typed. The other 2 could be any of these: dark, grass, ground, poison, fight, psychic. This has nothing to do with new type combos tho. But this trio could turn out to be Element/Bug.
  16. fire/poison and fire/ghost would be cool
  17. Are there? I'd agree if you mean legendary dragon pokemon, since the past 2 gens added 3 each x___x But regular dragons... we need more. There was 1.Dratini line 2.Kingdra 3.Bagon, Trapinch, Swablu lines 4.Gible line I wouldnt mind some more secondary dragons, with interesting main types this time. Kibago (the green bagon/larvitar like guy) definitely looks like it could be the pseudo legend of gen 5. Looking at its evolution, it could well be part steel, with that armor and the tusks becoming so blade-like. But yea! And more ghost combos. Let me try replacing some words here "Light type sounds so similar to Electric its pointless to put that and it would be nice to add Heat types to dominate against the Steel and Psychic types." Hmmm....makes the same amount of sense to me. Of course a pokemon can be hard to take down no matter its type, but thats missing the point.
  18. Actually there is no way they would add a new type now. They would have done so long ago if they wanted to. It's pretty good as it is with the 17. And light sounds kinda as lame as say heat type. If anything, the current types would need some renaming to add some logic but that wont happen either.
  19. Do you realise that Ice is the worst defensive type out of all the 17? How would adding it to the dragon type make it almost impossible to take down? It would make it have 4 weaknesses (including the common rock and fighting types) and only 3 resistances. wow. Not as bad as the combos with quad weaknesses to ground and fight, but thats one crap dragon. Give it any other type and it's better off LOL "almost be impossible to take down" You are looking for a Steel Ghost combo with levitate. 4 immunities 1 weakness 1 quad resistance 7 normal resistances Only thing hurting would be fire, and just water electric ghost dark would be neutral, everything else (12 types) either crap or nothing.
  20. I'm always surprised anew when i see a discussion about new type combinations. I mean the lack of imagination at combinations from 17 different types. And they always start with ppl wondering how combos of basic types would look like (grass/fire, water/fire...), even tho things like steel/ghost are far more interesting to think about, and then these discussions end up with dragons lol. I made a pic quite some time ago with all the combinations that havent been used yet. http://saiph-charon.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d222qgc Check if you find anything interesting with this now I mean things like Electric/Poison, Fire/Ghost, Steel/Grass, Rock/Dragon (fossils anyone?), Bug/Dark,or the only missing flying combination, Fight/Flying, etc.
  21. I'd say they're going for 650/651 this time. Like usual the regional dex should have 150 pokemon. After the recent statement from masuda, this would mean 150 new pokemon. This would bring us to 644 with Victiny no matter if hes 494 or 644. We've seen something that extremely resembles luvdisc, so the logical assumption is that the rest up to 651 are 7 new evos and non story related legends. Unless they are aiming for a different number (666 lol) or the more probable, not aiming for any number at all. I dont see them going anywhere as high as 200 in 1 generation though.
  22. nice Kadabra should evolve at 36, it's the only level at which they learn a different move* and since it evolves earlier than the other 3 trade evos anyway (16 instead of ~25). * Kadabras and Alakazams learn the exactly same moves at the same levels, except: 36 - Role Play / Calm Mind
  23. I was messing up a heartgold (U) rom with this. This is cool : D Changed alot of johto routes to include pokemon like houndour and whatnot, gave gym leaders more suiting teams (evolving a magnemite and changing the other one to skarmory for 6th one), added level up/item evolutions for trade evo pokes etc The only problem I have encountered till now is that I can't change wild pokemon on route 37. I change them around, hit the save button, change to another route, go back to 37 and it's got the original stuff D: Also there is no delay when clicking save, unlike normally when the prog freezes for half a sec or such. Oh and on route 36 appears an script error when saving, tough it doesnt seem to not have any consequences EDIT: tried changing route 37 on soulsilver, works. But the script error on 36 is there
