    NDS/3DS dates can be changed. As to trainer information, if you change the TID/SID haphazardly, it’ll stop being shiny.

    Unfounded speculation: I think they may be storing the profile’s Nintendo Account’s unique ID somewhere, not just plain OT/TID/SID. Or, hear me out. Saves that goes online in older games get a unique identifier issued from the server. The server could log and pair your Nintendo Account and the Unique identifier on their end. So sorta like a HOME tracker situation: server logs data and matches it to the tracker (or in this case the unique identifier). Could they log OT/TID/SID combo of people who have done bad bad trades? They could, we don’t know. We don’t work for them.

    custom firmware. You 'hacking' the device and running a 'custom version' of the 'firmware'. Basically without CFW, you can't use homebrew to backup your saves. So if you can do that, you are definitely on CFW. You can also just check the firmware version of the Switch in settings. there should be AMS as a prefix or something.

    Well, data wise, there should be nothing to indicate they were from an emulator. Whatever risk you experience, is from having a CFW, and doing stuff on that CFW. Well, I'll say risk of ban for having CFW is super low (I go online with my CFW Switch, have been for years), and usually the bans come for people having piracy, installing custom themes etc, but ultimately, the risk is non-zero.

    I see you're using Citra. Make sure to save inside the game, using the in-game menu, instead of using state saves.

I'm being nice and not locking this thread (yet), so watch your attitude. If people know they'll impart the knowledge (if they want to). Also PK3DS ≠ PKHeX. Make sure you're referring to the correct thing. Also, if you gonna edit coordinates on PKHeX, you may need to be correctly outdoors/indoors to match the place you're editing.
