I have a request for anyone who has some free time and desire to help. I'm planning on adding multi-language support to the program, but considering I only know English, I obviously can't do the translations myself. If you can translate from English to Spanish, Italian, German, French, Korean, or Japanese, and are willing, please post here and let me know. Guested has offered to do Japanese so far, but the work could be split if anyone else can also do it.

I know I've seen Pokedex codes of some sort. I don't know exactly what they do, as I haven't really paid enough attention. I'd be very, very surprised if it isn't possible to manipulate the Pokedex on an individual basis yet. It'll probably get added to this program at some point, I just can't say when, if it does.

Thanks. The reason for the free time isn't anything to be envious of, I assure you. I know what you mean though. As for C++ for GUI-related things... I honestly don't find it to be hindering or even difficult. I'd probably be annoyed at anything else for potentially providing less freedom. (Granted, I've never even looked at alternatives.) I think it'd be a little difficult to provide a single link on that. There are various threads around this forum with information that you're after. I don't personally know where they are, as I don't deal with that stuff a whole lot. I agree. Documentation is very much needed, but if there's anything I despise doing, it's that. So it's been put off constantly. Anyway, the testing is appreciated, as are any comments you may have. Quite a few fixes/changes have resulted from feedback on here.

Regardless of any other factors, it is in fact the exact character used by the Japanese version of the game for Swampert's name.

It'd help if you could find a screenshot of the name in-game. Edit: It's there. http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/5319/sthisone.jpg

I have no idea how the Japanese language works, so I can't really help you here. All I can say is that only Korean characters aren't represented by the character map at the moment.

10 and 11 are related to event PIDs, but (I think) they don't cover them all. Some event Pokemon don't have any sort of relationship between their PID and IVs, meaning it can be completely random.

There are tutorials and explanations all over the place on how to obtain your save file.

This is why you keep a copy of your save file for when you screw it up. The first post tells you how to use the party code, you just didn't follow the directions. You can't just increase your party size without filling in the slots with other codes.

2 questions actually... (.PKM files and HyperGTS)
Codr replied to NoriakiZ's topic in Systems, Flashcards, and Emulation
You can change the type with PokeGen as well. Load it and save, changing the save type in the save dialog. -
What purpose did loading it into Pokesav serve?
-
If you actually look at the save dialog, you'd see that there are multiple save types when saving a .pkm file. It can do what you want. Regardless, it's never disappointing to see someone actually try on their own first before asking.

You mean when you turn toward it and press A? The name it uses in those messages is the same that's displayed on the summary page, so I'm not sure how that could be going wrong for you without the summary also being wrong. Also, the message that appears is a result of the Pokemon's happiness value. (I'm not 100% sure if anything else affects it.) I'd put a button up for that, but I'm not sure if it's legal. To be honest, we're probably violating copyright laws already by using the icons and other images that we do.

Anything that's wrong is a big deal. I wasn't saying you should stop reporting problems. That was really an expression of annoyance at myself. But... like I said, I'm not seeing them showing up incorrectly now.

Give me a break. I really don't know how the data for these things got entered so backwards. Edit: Err, I'm not seeing a problem with those.

There isn't a valid PID for every set of IVs. That's the whole point of the program allowing them to change automatically. If you, uh, read the tooltips, it tells you. It's pretty safe at this point to say that you can ignore them, however.

Thanks for the problem reports everyone. 2.311 ADDED: Some error handling when dealing with files to help alleviate crashes when a file isn't accessible. FIXED: Loading non-save files after a save file had already been loaded could result in a crash. FIXED: PP wasn't always being displayed properly for loaded Pokemon. FIXED: "Flavor" text (stats tab) was incorrect when the special attack, special defense, or speed stats were highest. FIXED: The "Load from codes" feature had a buffer problem that was causing codes to not always be read properly.

That's what did the trick. I was able to reproduce this. I'll have it fixed in a few minutes with a new version uploaded.

[Concept] Wii & DS Wonder Card Distribution Application
Codr replied to Nigoli's topic in Systems, Flashcards, and Emulation
The point of Wondercards themselves is almost always to obtain a Pokemon... is it not? Also, I just think this isn't worth the effort when I think about the number of people wanting to do this that don't already have a flash cartridge or an Action Replay. This is basically the same thing as above. The only purpose I know of that Wondercards serve is to obtain special Pokemon or items, both of which are easily done by other means that're (I think) likely to be more available to people who want to do these things in the first place. Most of my view on this came from: (Referencing the goal of simply obtaining the Wondercard's contents.) I just feel as if someone has the money for a Wii, they should have the money for a what, $20 at most? AR or flash cartridge. (Granted, there are special cases where money wasn't involved at all, and I'm the last person you'd find wanting to spend extra money if it can be avoided.)- 24 replies

Versions.txt is essentially a crude form of documentation for the program.

I see. I'll get regional support in eventually, sorry. As for the specific Pokesav problem, I think I've read that you can hold down backspace for a few seconds and have it (for whatever reason) fix the nickname editbox. This would work, although a little annoying.

[Concept] Wii & DS Wonder Card Distribution Application
Codr replied to Nigoli's topic in Systems, Flashcards, and Emulation
I'm not sure what your definition of strict is, but it still fits mine. I think I just see the end goal differently than you and Nigoli. I'd have to talk to SCV, or look at the assembly myself to be comfortable with that. Considering the fact that people have already gone to the extreme (well, it's extreme to me) of finding that the PID and IVs are generated from the same RNG seed in the generation 4 games, I'd imagine they'd want a similar guarantee from Wondercard-generated data. I'm not saying it IS done with any sort of verifiability, but that I'm not convinced from just you saying it. You essentially said the opposite by saying that the PID and IV relationship isn't there, assuming there's no relationship between other data for each particular Pokemon and its PID or IVs. If in fact there's nothing that can be tested data-wise, there's nothing stopping someone from passing a properly-generated Pokemon off as a Wondercard Pokemon already. The difference would only be in the person's head, just like the idiotic "legitimate" vs. "legality" garbage people go insane over.- 24 replies
