  1. What country is the game? If it's non-US, you may visibly have the right trainer name, but have the wrong values for each character. That's probably not going to make sense to you, but I'll wait to see what your response is before clarifying if needed. Also, wherever you saw that the Pokemon's country must match your game's, ignore it, because it's wrong. That has nothing to do with this problem.
  2. I'm not entirely sure how event Pokemon PIDs are intended to work, but PID type 10 and 11 in PokeGen are event types, with R and U meaning restricted and unrestricted.
  3. When I test out potential problems, I always use the latest public version.
  4. Taking the exact steps you mentioned, I can't produce this same problem. Unless you can provide more detail on exactly what the state of everything is (Are there any controls with invalid information, for example? Editboxes turn red if it's invalid.) or find another way of causing the same problem, I can't really do anything.
  5. Can you give me a series of steps of exactly what you're doing? Based on what you said, it sounds like you're filling in information, using "Set from controls", then using "Show from controls" and getting incorrect information. I don't see how this is possible, so I need more detail.
  6. That should resolve your confusion, despite the fact that it was already said. Edit: Also, I have no idea what you're talking about when you say that PokeGen is producing a happiness value of 70 every time.
  7. Nobody can really answer that question accurately. It depends on other factors. Generally, however, you'll have a hard time finding a valid PID without letting at least 2 or more IVs change. (Not because of a limitation of the program, but because the valid PIDs simply don't exist.)
  8. He ended up downloading PokeGen. He just didn't mention it here.
  9. ...what? Do you mean you were looking at a copy of the egg prior to hatching? Looking at the hatched Pokemon's data obviously wouldn't serve any purpose here. 6400 steps... divide by 256 and there's your happiness value.
  10. I have. It's just a lot of tedious work to add in. Since I have another, much larger project (not related to Pokemon) that I'm working on, I haven't really had the desire to go back and spend the time needed for something like that on PokeGen. It may happen eventually, I'm just not going to make any promises.
  11. Oh, I see what you're wanting to know now. You'd just have to look at a website with a database to find out what the typical hatch steps for a particular species are.
  12. As the tooltip for "Happiness" says in PokeGen, that value is used for the hatch steps of an egg. You're right in that it's value * 256 though.
  13. How did you do the nicknames? Did you click the characters on the character map? It'd be helpful if you could paste the exact text that was in the nickname editboxes. Aside from a potential problem with the nicknames, the only other way something could've gone wrong is (maybe) if you're using non-US versions of the game, had a corrupt save file before saving to it, or did something else you haven't mentioned.
  14. It doesn't have issues, it just takes time. You have to realize that there are a very limited number of valid PIDs for one set of IVs. If you let the IVs adjust themselves, you'll almost always find a match.
  15. Yes, you kind of said that already. To have even the slightest idea of what's causing your problem, you need to provide more detail.
  16. It's always great to see someone try something new and realize it was worth the effort. Thanks for the feedback. It's possible that you could end up not finding a PID for a very specific set of IVs. That's the reason it's designed to let the IVs change as needed. If you set the "polarity" to "=" on all 6 so that none of them can change, you often won't find a PID.
  17. Reading my post would help.
  18. A better solution is to use a different program. Use the link in my signature.
  19. 2.305 - The nickname flag will now properly be set for Pokemon that were hatched from eggs, came from Pal Park, or came from events. Note that Pokemon with non-English names will always be considered nicknamed by the program.
  20. What exactly are you doing? This is the first report of any sort of corruption since the original problems when save files were first implemented.
  21. If you obtain a Pokemon in the game and give it a nickname that isn't in all capital letters or doesn't match the Pokemon's "species" name exactly, the game flags it as nicknamed, does it not? That's what I have the program doing. If, for some odd reason, you find that problematic, I'd like to know the detail on why.
  22. I have it designed to automatically set the flag when the bytes don't match something that's generated by the game. Now that it's been brought up, this probably isn't the best idea, considering I haven't accounted for every type of nickname that the game creates. (Pal Park Pokemon come to mind.) I'm not sure that I want to add a "Nicknamed" checkbox, as that's just counterintuitive. Edit: Although it seems that this isn't even working as intended. I'll check it out. Edit2: I guess that was a bit premature. It's fine. I'd like to see just what Pokemon are coming out not as you want though.
