Hello everyone, I am wanting to ask this community if someone can please tell me how to install PKHeX on my MacBook Pro in detail because I am a complete dunce. I know I’m the not the brightest knife in the crayon box, and I've tried so many different ways in order to have the software on my system. I'll be honest and admit that I hardly know what I am doing and don’t know how to use Wine and its multiple counterparts. If it is possible for someone to reach out to me in the direct messages or get in touch with me through discord ( Kingg._.Kidd#8467 ) I would greatly appreciate it.

PKHeX on Mac A User Friendly Guide for WINE Intro This guide will hopefully clarify a few things regarding WINE and PKHeX running on MacOS as well as help anyone start from scratch with WINE [in order to run PKHeX]. WINE is a fickle thing; it's not guaranteed to work (at all) but the success rate these days is impressive! So, don't get discouraged if things do not work the first time around. Nothing we do in this guide is permanent, although I encourage you to make a Time Machine backup of your system or at least backup your important data. With that being said, I have been using WINE for quite some time. Regarding PKHeX, It's going on almost a year and I have yet to experience any depressive issues using WINE to run it. I have done several clean installs of macOS Sierra and macOS High Sierra in order to give you the most accurate information possible. If I have missed something or you know any tips or tricks, I would appreciate the feedback! Also, you'll find only the bare minimum information in this guide of what you will need to get PKHeX up and running. I say this because without any theming, the app will look like an old school Windows program. NOTE: Aesthetics may not be the most important thing to consider (especially if you're in a hurry or maybe don't care) however there are some dependencies (winetricks) that are absolutely necessary for some programs to run. Fortunately PKHeX isn't too picky. Choices Download the PKHeX app in the PKHeX for Mac thread Use Winebottler to make a PKHeX.app for yourself Use Wineskin Winery to make a PKHeX.app for yourself (no support here) Use WINE to run the PKHeX executable via Terminal Use a Virtual Machine (VM) or something along those lines (no support here) Winebottler Pretty straight forward process. Tick all of the items with arrows next to them, like in the screenshot below. Also necessary winetricks for PKHeX: dotnet461; corefonts; cjkfonts; tahoma. May need to change security preferences to run the app: NOTE: Winebottler is the fastest, easiest "DIY" option for a beginner. (Some argue that Wineskin Winery is the fastest and most easy way to whip up an app. I'll say it just depends on your skill level, though I agree.) Another thing, apps may be less stable than if they were launched using other methods basically because of the lack of options Winebottler has to fine tune things (e.g.; adding a string in the Registry Editor to enable Retina compatibility.) Install WINE on your Mac [Run PKHeX Using Terminal] Installing WINE on your system using Homebrew is the most noob-friendly way [to install WINE on Mac] that I have found, so let us just use that. To start, I'll tell you that you will be installing 4-5 minuscule things on your Mac; Xcode CLT, Homebrew Package Manager, XQuartz, WINE, and some Winetricks depending on the executable your are attempting to run. In this instance, our target is PKHeX. So onto the first thing, Homebrew. Before you can use "brew commands" in Terminal, you must have Xcode Command Line Tools installed. If you already have Xcode installed on your Mac, you should be peachy. If not, no problem! Open Terminal to get started! Xcode CLT: xcode-select --install If you're asked to agree to Xcode's ToS, next type: sudo xcodebuild -license Homebrew Package Manager: /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" When that finishes up, you'll want to make sure everything is in order: brew doctor For future reference, you can update Homebrew using: brew upgrade XQuartz: brew cask install xquartz WINE: brew install wine brew upgrade wine # For future reference That will create a 64-bit WINEPREFIX which will be located at: ~/.wine NOTE: If you would rather use the developer version of WINE, use these instead: brew install wine --devel brew upgrade wine --devel # For future reference Winetricks: brew install cabextract brew install winetricks brew upgrade winetricks # For future reference NOTE: You DO NOT need to install every winetrick available, just the ones your programs depend on to function. For PKHeX, you will need to install these; dotnet461, corefonts, cjkfonts, and tahoma (why not). Install the "tricks": winetricks "trick" # (e.g.; winetricks dontnet461) Complete list of Winetricks For some, the winetricks process will be easier with a GUI. I suggest installing Zenity if you want one: brew install zenity # After installation finishes, you will have a neat GUI for winetricks. Use: winetricks --gui Attention Okay, this is important, so listen up. It's a known issue that .NET Framework 4.5 and up, (dotnet45 and up) does not install properly on a 64-bit WINEPREFIX, which was installed by default earlier (brew install wine). That is okay because a 64-bit WINEPREFIX may come in handy in the future. To get around this issue, you will create a 32-bit WINEPREFIX. Creating the 32-bit prefix: WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 WINEARCH=win32 wine wineboot You will now have a 32-bit prefix located at: ~/.wine32 Next, install the aforementioned winetricks in your new prefix. It is important that you use these next commands any time you want to run or install ANYTHING inside of that 32-bit WINEPREFIX. Remember, we need at least .NET Framework 4.6 to run PKHeX and we must install .NET Framework 4.6 in the 32-bit prefix, therefore we will be running PKHeX from inside of the 32-bit prefix. (I know, don't ask, lol) WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 WINEARCH=win32 wine "Program.exe" WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 WINEARCH=win32 winetricks "trick" Senario: You have done all of the above and you're ready to run "PKHeX.exe". Download PKHeX and remember its location. It's usually in the Downloads folder. Open Terminal and change directories to the PKHeX (version) folder. For example: cd ~/Downloads/PKHeX\ \(171205\) Then, run the executable: WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32 WINEARCH=win32 wine PKHeX.exe

PKHeX for Mac Made with Wineskin Welcome to PKHeX for Mac Discussion thread! Please post here if you need help or are experiencing issues related to this Wineskin wrapper, and use the PKHeX Support forum for issues related to the program. This is a Mac App that was made using Wineskin; it is not a port of PKHeX onto the Mac operating system. With Wineskin, we can recreate an environment where executable files will launch on Mac. As far as what is known, all features in the original program work in this wrapper. There are a few differences though. PKHeX for Mac is styled with MacOS. Also, the app's icon is different from the original PKHeX program to better fit in with the theme of the app. Download Credit to Kaphotics Source: https://projectpokemon.org/home/files/file/1-pkhex/ Issues with Wine and PKHeX? Hello! Forgive me if I'm in the wrong category or something, I'm new to this site as I just signed up for help. I've been trying to work PKHeX on my Mac for quite a while now. I've followed nearly every guide I can find but to no avail. I was wondering if anyone could help me by chance. I usually use this guide. I've used a few another ones, but most pages seem to lead me to the one I just mentioned. I try to do the easiest and top-most method with Winebottler. I've double-checked, I run everything the exact same as it is on that screenshot of the Winebottler "Install" screen. I've checked all 4 Winetricks but the only difference is I try to install the app it's creating directly onto the root of my 3ds's SD card. I used this guide for getting it on the SD card, if you're wondering where I install it. Whenever I have my screen the same as in the first guide, I click install and everything seems to run fine, with a box appearing at the bottom that says,"Creating "PKHeX App.app", and below that,"installing dotnet461". Problem is, my computer never seems to want to go past this step. I've left it running on that step for about 30 minutes, nothing happened and the Winebottler app eventually stopped responding. I left my computer running overnight and decided to come back to it the next day, and it just said,"Prefix aborted successfully." In place of where the install box was before. Am I doing something wrong? Is there any other method I should be using? Thanks for any replies in advance!

The purpose of this thread is to discuss, document and make public the resources available for RNG manipulation in Gen 7. Gen 7 RNG manipulation Ressources: RNG Calculators: wwwwwwzx's SMEncounterRNGTool Quandra’s PokemonSunMoonRNGTool For Mac users, jasenyoface has kindly made available a Wine bundle (v2.10a) for Quandra’s calculator, which can be downloaded here. NB.: You will require a timer for stationary and gift pokemon RNG manipulation. For Windows users, EonTimer is recommended. As another alternative, both Windows & Mac users can use emtimer (jap.). ***NEWS*** A port of wwwwwwzx's SMEncounterRNGTool and Quandra's PokemonSunMoonRNGTool is curently in development for web browsers. This will allow almost any device with a browser to run these calculators. It’s being developed by the same people who made pokeCalcNTR. You can access the project’s official GitHub link here. Other useful RNG manipulation tools: pokeCalcNTR is an overlay plugin that allows the user to view in real-time IVs, Nature, Seed, frames and much more in Sun & Moon. Plans are being made to make it compatible with Gen 6 as well. Do note however that in order to run this plugin you will require CFW, FBI and NTR Selector to be installed on your console. Also, you will need to have your copy of Sun or Moon on the latest firmware 1.1 in order for pokeCalcNTR to properly display the initial seed and current frame (otherwise “initial seed" will incorrectly be stuck on 0 while frames will remain fixed on a given number). Tutorials & other links of interest: This post shall be updated as new tools and ressources are made available.

Hi guys, so I've been trying to install the latest version (17.01.28) on my Mac using wine bottler, but to no avail. I managed it successfully with the last version of PKHeX, but this time the wrapper simply refuses to complete the launch when I double-click the .app file. Is there anybody here who could help me go through the steps please? Thanks in advance.

If your on a mac, i hope you enjoy this. Uses latest version as of 4/19/15. OSX Yosemite is required.(I will try to update the download links when a new version of PKHeX comes out in the future). XQuartz is required in order for this to fully work properly. Hey all, I'm new here and hoping I posted this in the correct section of the forums. Let's get to it. I'm trying to run Pokegen on my Macbook, which currently has Mac OSX 10.5.8 installed on it, as well as the latest version of x11. I'm playing Pokemon Black using DeSmuMe (latest version) as an emulator, and hoping to get some cool pokémon (including pkmn from previous generations) to train from an early level. I tried downloading Wine (v 1.1.44) and Winebox (v 1.1.44), but to no avail. I attempted to create a custom prefix following how-to guides I found in various places online (such as this one) and I think I did everything correctly. When I attempted to create a prefix for and subsequently open Pokegen, no window popped up. Instead, I see only the menu options (on the horizontal bar across the top of the screen) for Wine Bottler. Later, searching the forums, I found that Pokegen will not run using Wine on Mac OSX 10.6 or earlier... So, I attempted to open Pokegen using Crossover, which kindof worked... I chose the Pokegen executable file as my installer file (Crossover describes this as "The file you select will be launched to install the application"). I then chose to create a windows XP bottle for the program, and hit "Install". Halfway into "installing" the program, Pokegen simply launches. At first I was like :creep:, then I was like , but then quickly I became :frown: I couldn't upload the save state created by Desmume because this Crossever-ed Pokegen didn't recognize .dst files (or is it always like that?). I could, however, load a .dsv that I think my emulator creates when I save the game in-game using my poke-gear. Unfortunately, what Pokegen opened was a buggy version of my game save; it didn't accurately show the pokemon I had in my party, and didn't detect most of the pokemon I had in my box. Soon thereafter, Pokegen crashed. Then I was like  I opened Pokegen once more and Looking around this forum, I found a link to this site, where I uploaded my .dst save file and converted it into both .sav and .duc formats. When I attempted to load them, Pokegen gave me an "Invalid file" error message. I've tried 11 of the different target formats offered by the above site, but none of them worked. To top it all off, the .dsv that had previously opened, albeit buggily, now also gives me the same error message. At this point, I'm really frustrated and hoping that someone here knows what I'm going through and can help me out. Thank you very much in advance. -H

After much turmoil over rom patches that only work on Windows, I have created a rom patcher that works in OS X. 6jRKw8P86dc http://rapidshare.com/files/284142416/DS_Rom_Patcher.zip http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PEN7XOAE View larger video here I made this to work with Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver, and I have tested it with both KazoWAR's and Raqib12's patches. In theory, this patcher can patch any DS rom that uses xdelta patches. Note: I could not find a freezing patch file for HeartGold/SoulSilver. There are 2 out there, but they are .exe files, not patch files. In order to have a HG/SS with the freezing fix, you must either start with a pre-patched rom(Search on Google) or use a patch that has the freezing fix in it. I ask that the makers of the translation patches add freeze-protection in their patches, or that the makers of the freezing patches make their patches availiable as a patch file.

Hello. I want to edit my Pokémon Diamond and PEarl saves to include the event items, so as to get the special Pokémon. (Platinum I'm okay due to the official events being broadcast over the internet.) I could do this on my PC, but it died and I'm now running on an Intel Mac with OS X 10.5.8 and although I've been on it for over a year now I've never been able to get NetCat to work. I've tried installing it via an online guide, but when I get to the stage of downloading and installing NetCat itself through the Terminal it doesn't. I really don't want to install Windows on my Mac, so any help, I'd be greatly appreciative. I have been trying to use SavSender, but don't know if I should be using SavSender 1.1 or an alternative for this. If there are any stand alone apps or easier alternatives to this, I'd be open to suggestions. For example I own 2 DSs and 2 Flash Cards, is there a way of sending my save from my proper Pokémon to the SD card of the other DS with a Flash Card in it? PS, I've followed guides online for NetCat, and they all end up the same way. And frankly are hard to follow. If anyone has a step-by-step of their personal experience in getting it working, that would be better. Thanks.

Okay, so here is the deal. I play Pokemon Platinum on my Macbook using Crossover and No$GBA. I am having trouble using PokeSav on my Macbook and cannot figure out how to do this. I found this video on YouTube that is absolutely horrible because I get lost half-way through and cannot figure out what I am supposed to do ( ). I try hitting "open" to open my .sav file but it keeps telling me that it's the wrong file type. This is my first time with PokeSav so I could be doing something completely wrong. Could someone please give me written instructions on how to use PokeSav with a Macbook please? Because this is really confusing me. Thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone. I was wondering if there was currently a version of Pokesav for the Mac OS X, or if there is a version in development. Thanks. -Cobalt.

Im a Pc guy and I just necessarily just want to know what you guys have to say Please explain why you say so and yes ... arguements about the platforms are allowed untill/Unless the mods have a say in that (or stop it) I like pc's for gaming..... yeah thats why

Hi, why don't you recompile Pokesav and render it compatible with Mac OS X???
