  1. I'll format an old memory card as JPN memory card and try that tonight. A few pages back ajxpk mentioned some demo discs looks very similar, however the big difference was one contained the distribution and the other didn't. As the demo discs menu is essentially a webpage it would be very easy to simply remove a link to the distribution, then just leave the distribution files on the disc inaccessible. It might also have just been left there from a previous month as GameCube games are padded with garbage data anyway if not all the space is used on the disc. Nintendo do like to leave random bits on discs it appears, so in this instance we might have got lucky. Presuming the distribution does actually work with a cart that doesn't have a dead battery, I could create a PPF patch for the Japanese Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc from January 2004, so people who wish to use it on real hardware can easily patch a clean dump of the demo disc and make use of the distribution. That might well be the best we get for now until a demo disc with the distribution accessible from the menu turns up. My understanding of the discs menu system is: 1st Menu (Snowman) = Two Vidoes 2nd Menu (GC 2004) = Two Vidoes 3rd Menu (GBA 2004) = One Video 4th Menu (Zelda Four Swords) = Sub Menu's about the game and a video 5th Menu (Mario Kart Doble Dash) = Sub Menu's about game and a playable demo They would easily have been space for a 6th menu which loaded the Pokemon distribution.
  2. So the problem with the JPN Berry Glitch Shiny Zigzagoon is that it doesn't load on real hardware once extracted from the "Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc - January 2004 (Japan)" disc. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to load from the disc's menu system (unless i'm missing the obvious, having explored the menu the best I can without been able to read Japanese). However the menu system on the disc is able to launch a Mario Kart Double Dash Demo, which is done via the kart_try_go.html, located in local > kart folder You will also see a folder called pokemonrs in the "local" folder, in this folder the pokemonrs_p.html contains the parameters required to launch the Berry Glitch Shiny Zigzagoon distribution. This is: <meta name="go-tgc" content="/local/tgc/Ruby_And_Sapphire_Rev param=file://client.bin"> So we can simply edit the kart_try_go.html in the kart folder to launch the Berry Glitch Shiny Zigzagoon distribution like so: You will notice i've also removed most of the comments from the HTML code, this is to ensure the filesize is not larger than the file it's replacing, as GC-Tool will only allow you to replace a file that is the same size or smaller, not larger. You can then right click and replace your modified file with GC-Tool: After that you can load the ISO on real hardware and activate the distribution like so: Be aware you don't put the GBA in multiboot mode, load the distribution on the GameCube and press "A" to get to the second screen, then power on the GBA and let it load Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire load and it should try distribute all been well. However you will notice I seem to get an error when trying to distribute the Zigzagoon. I think this is because the battery in my JPN Pokemon Ruby is dead, so it would be pointless in trying to fix the glitch and fails? With that in mind does anyone have a JPN Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire cart with a working battery and the ability to test this to see if it works?
  3. A very good call indeed! I honestly never expected to find it on the first disc I checked either, if it all. Right under our nose this whole time. Better late then never
  4. I found the JPN Berry Glitch Shiny Zigzagoon GameCube Distribution hidden away on the Japanese Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc from January 2004! If its listed on the discs menu system its far from obvious to someone to someone who can't read Japanese, however it's easily found in the discs file system. You will find it under local > tgc > Ruby_And_Sapphire_Rev.tgc and can convert it to an ISO to use on real hardware with tgc to gcm (untested at present). If you look at the banner info you will find the name of the disc is "ジラーチ配布ディスク2003年6月" which translates to "Jilachi Distribution Disk June 2003." The banner description is "新ポケモン ジラーチが君の手に!" which roughly translates to "New Pokemon Jirachi is in your hands! We can speculate the JPN Pokemon Berry Glitch Shiny Zigzagoon Distribution is based on the the Wishing Star Jirachi distribution, which was distributed from June 1 to August 24, 2003 in Japan.
  5. Does anyone actually own a disc with the JPN Berry Fix Glitch Zigzagoon? I was trying to track this down last year however never could. Someone did sent a few of JPN GameCube Demo ISO's my way from around the time of the Berry Fix Glitch distribution, however none of them looked to have the distribution on the disc. That's not to say it might not still be in the file system somewhere as @ajxpk mentioned, which leads me on to asking what are the best tool for exploring the contents of a GameCube game these days?
  6. It snowed here yesterday, that seemed to have no effect on what spawned, however the in-game effects looked good: The game also gave out extreme weather warnings every time I loaded it up:
  7. Here's my desktop, i'm not one for desktop shortcuts. I'd sooner pin the apps I use to the task bar:
  8. As Crystal is (unofficially) supported, I presume it would likely see save data from correctly created user created versions of Crystal. With that in mind I wonder if a Celebi caught with the GS ball event patched in to a user crated Crystal would import? If so that might give some indication the event will either be unlocked by default, or released at some point for the VC Crystal.
  9. Hey and welcome! Its always great to find people who have grown up with Pokemon and are still interested in it years later. I don't see gender, religion or sexuality as an issue in general, what ever people believe in or identify as is fine by me. We're all here because we love Pokemon, so you will fit right in!
  10. I've just got an email saying my copies of Ultra Sun and Moon will be delivered this afternoon, perfect timing for when I finish work for the weekend. As i've played though both the original Sun and Moon games i've been trying to put a team together consisting of Pokemon i've never used in a team before. My planned team at the moment is as follows: https://richi3f.github.io/pokemon-team-planner/national_dex.html#marshadow+celebi+magearna+milotic+turtonator+zygarde Mount Tensei Marshadow Ilex Forest Celebi QR Code Magearna Milotic (Feebas Egg with a Prism Scale ready to trade) Turtonator (Egg) Zygarde (Have one i'm ready to reassemble) I wanted Marshadow in my team when I first played though of Moon, so it will be nice to finally have one to use throughout the story. Having just finished Silver on the VC the Ilex Forest Celebi I got for purchasing that will be a nice throwback to GEN 2. The Milotic, Turtonator and Zygarde are just Pokemon i'd like to use in an effort to make a balanced team. I'm not too keen with 3 Pokemon been from events, as I would like to train them up myself. They also won't be much use for the first two islands due to their level, however that should make it a lot less time consuming to get the other 3 Pokemon up to similar levels. For the other half of the game and post game they should be useful. As it's my 3rd play though of GEN 7 at this point i'm not too bothered. From what i've read from people playing leaked copies, all the interesting stuff is post game anyway. Who have you got on your team this time?
  11. You might get your wish with the next Pokemon games on the Switch, depending how badly the Switch is hacked by the time it's released. When users have full control over the system, like with the 3DS their's nothing much you can do.
  12. No national dex, well that's a disappointment. Still little incentive to bring the livingdex up from GEN 6 now, same as last year. Hopefully something from the datamining will peak my interest.
  13. I'm still really mixed about Ultra Sun and Moon to be honest. It's good that Sun / Moon tried something new and I like the whole island / tribal feel to the game. I just think the implementation of the idea could have been a lot better. A lot of things were done which I feel added no value to the game, such as the rotom dex. That to me just seemed a bit childish. That brings me on to the next thing, the whole bottom screen generally felt wasted a lot of the time. In the GEN 6 games I always had the PSS system active there and it was nice to see when certain friends came online and see trainers from other countries passing, randomly getting invited to battle / trade as I progressed though the game, using the O-Powers and so on. The lack of a national dex was a disappointment to me, I’ve had little incentive to bring my living Pokedex from GEN 6 across. I think for me if we get something like the PSS back, National Dex and a better story now Lilly is a proper Pokemon trainer and a lot of new areas to explore it could turn out to be a good game. What would be really nice is if we can catch legendries which have only ever been event only, such as Volcanion and Marshadow for example. I’ve pretty much managed to complete my living Pokedex with myself as the OT for every Pokemon, except event only Pokemon and Xerneas. Xerneas been catchable would be nice as it would mean I don’t need to play most of Pokemon X at some point for one Pokemon, although I really enjoyed Y so wouldn’t resent having to do that at all. I just don’t have a lot of time to at the moment. From looking at the image jojo12100 posted I will have to play both Ultra Moon and Sun to get UB Burst and UB Lay with myself as the OT, so I do want to enjoy theses games. I think with a lot of small improvements Ultra Sun and Moon could be really nice games, maybe even the definitive 3DS Pokemon game. Currently I think Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are the best Pokemon games on the 3DS. I still don’t find myself as excited as others seem to be for the games though, which is unsual as i've been pretty hyped for all the Pokemon 3DS games so far. I’m hoping that will change though.
  14. It would be nice to see all these variants out there, however I totally agree it's not worth the asking price, even if it happened to be reduced by 50%. If anyone is seriously considering buying the above and has the money to put down for something like that then I would re enforce what @Deoxyz has said and maybe message him and have a chat.
  15. Wow very nice share Afepoke. Thank you, it's often difficult to find earlier JPN events outside of Japan so this will be appreciated by many i'm sure.
  16. I'm not sure if this is "new" news, however it's footage and info i've not seen before, which looks to have only recently been uploaded to YouTube. It's footage from Nintendo Space World 97 which includes a little game play from a demo of Pokemon Gold, which was playable at Space World 97: You will notice the Super Game Boy Border is different, showing Gengar and Pikachu with a very early looking Hoppip: The Pokemon Gold / Silver page on The Cutting Room Floor seems to have been updated with more information compared to when I last read it https://tcrf.net/Prerelease:Pokémon_Gold_and_Silver#Playable_Demo
  17. I must admit i'm getting tired of all the raid exclusive Pokemon too. If i could do raids in my local area on an evening I would do, however the nearest gym is 30+ mins away (which no one seems to raid at anyway!) That leaves doing raids in town after work, which rarely has raids at that time. At present I only need Entei, Suicune and Raikou to have everything released so far in the UK. Raikou is next months here, sadly I've missed Entei and i'm yet to get Suicune this month. I have considered spoofing, however i've got everything else legit, so it would ruin the game for me I think. If i ever get to the point where i just don't care anymore i'll probably spoof to Japan like theSlayer is doing. I did go to Manchester, UK this summer to play the game, it's honestly such a different experience playing the game in a major city. Their was over 100 people on a street corner doing a Zapdos raid, then as people left loads more people came, it was so easy to get in to raids which was really nice. Personally I think the game should scale to the area based on number of gyms and active players, so in a quiet area 2 or 3 people should be enough to do a 5* raid. Lets be honest even if you win that doesn't mean you will actually capture the Pokemon, so you still have to work hard to earn it.
  18. Strangely enough I forgot about this event as Game UK had some issues with codes at the start of the event. I managed to grab a code last night. The event runs for quite a long time here in the UK, until November 16th 2017.
  19. I used SaveDataFiler, start a new game on the 3DS and save it. Now export the save with SaveDataFiler Keep in mind if you are injecting a save from an original game cartridge or emulator then you need to open the save in an hex editor (HxD is easy to use and free) and delete the last two lines of the save file like so: After doing this save the modifications on HxD and then rename your save file to sav.dat You can now overwrite the sav.dat you dumped with the sav.dat you wish to restore. Finally restore the save with SaveDataFiler and be sure to then find the games title in user tab of SaveDataFiler and delete the secure value (01726 = Pokemon Gold, 01727 = Pokemon Silver) Your save should load perfectly fine then. Their is a tool here that should do the above hex editing for you, however my save game always showed up as corrupted when i tried to use that:
  20. My boxed copies had arrived when I got home today. The only thing in the box was the actual download code, no poster, magnet or any bonus content. For anyone who wants to see: I thought it would be neat to do a Pokemon GEN 2 though the generations photo: Time to start my GEN 2 adventure on the 3DS
  21. The Pokemon GC games seem to have issues with region swapping saves in my experience. If you remember with Pokemon Box I had similar issues with trying to load your NTSC save on my PAL version of Pokemon Box. I could load your NTSC save, using an NTSC game on a PAL console, however when using a PAL game it would read the save, then corrupt it when trying to save any changes. I’m guessing the Pokemon games might have slightly different savefile layouts between regional copies of the games.
  22. For anyone on the fence with contributing I know Deoxyz has personally invested a lot of his own money (were talking $1000's) in both the 10ANNIV and Aurora Ticket Distribution then released them for free asking for nothing in return. In addition he was the one who got us a distributed set of the French, German, Italian and Spanish 10ANNIV Pokemon, along with the Aura Mew in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish for the GEN 3 event save myself and HaxAras has spent a lot of time on last year. Something we learned a lot later on that the research team here didn't even have these Pokemon. So needless to say if you value these old, rare Pokemon event's and want to see people enjoy them now and in the future it's well worth donating anything you can justify in my opinion. Sadly these old events are usually hoarded away in private collections never to be seen again, when a chance to obtain them comes up its often very costly unfortunately, Deoxyz has absorbed this up front on PayPal credit, however this and anything in the future is only going to be viable if the community comes together to make it happen. If this comes off their is also another event in the works, which has been for many months now. This is close to been finalised too, so this year could potentially be another good year for GEN 3 events.
