  1. Oh yeah, because the PS3 doesn't have any hardware failures. :rolleyes:The Xbox360 Elite doesn't have a bluray player, but that hardly matters since I can rent HD movies over the internet with netflix and save my DVD-Rom drive for things like games. Neither do I have to install games onto my Xbox 360 - the option is there, but load times are generally not a problem for the Xbox because their media of choice (Dual Layer DVDs) doesn't have a w f u l read times (because of the storage size of a bluray disc, it takes forever to fetch data from it which is what forces installs to HDD for PS3 titles). I have owned two xbox360s since they came out, and neither has ever had a hardware failure/RRoD'd. Instead, I've been playing all of the good games that you can play on your PS3 with better graphics, faster load times, and with better online support. I don't mind paying a small fee once a year for my Live subscription because the service is by far the best implementation of online gaming in the console market. Enjoy your overpriced bluray player, sir.

    What's in a Name?

Well, since you asked and I'm in the mood to let the secret go, I'll tell you guys I've gotten the question before but usually I'm mysterious about it for giggles.

    WhatPulse

I would do this if I wasn't paranoid of it keylogging my passwords or whatever.
  4. Fenzo, the word "hinder" makes zero sense in this article. It should be "linger", or better yet, "reside". -Web definition for the word 'hinder'
  5. If you had actually done that, that would have been stupid. It's not as if alienware computers all suddenly became bad when Dell bought them: the new ones made under Dell aren't made with as quality parts, but the old ones are obviously going to stay just as good as when Alienware made them independently of Dell.
  6. Alienwares have been losing credibility since Dell bought the company. Vaois are decent but they're going to be at a slightly worse price point than the competition and the extra money is mostly just going into the brand name instead of more quality parts.
  7. I'm pretty sure chumbucket is asking if he can pal park pokemon from a GBA game to an NDS game through emulation. The short answer, Chum, is no. The long answer is, as far as I know, you could create all of the pokemon from your GBA ROM in pokesav and load them up into the NDS ROM through RAM editing (action replay/cheats). There may be another solution I am not aware of. @everyone else: I don't think our friend chum wants to buy a bunch of accessories for a DS he probably don't own. :[
  8. Like I said, then. Almost definitely not. The megaten games themselves rarely have similar gameplay, even, unless they are in the same series (the main series, the persona series).
  9. All the megami tensei games will have something to do with angels/demons/gods and working with them somehow. There is an overplot to ALL of the games that has to do with Lucifer's fight with YHWH (the Abrahamic God).Beyond that, I doubt the MMO would play anything like the DS game, but the ideas will definitely be similar.
  10. That's fine by me, but I'd never do it. I like the idea that anyone can pull anything out of their rear. I like the idea that both players can be punished hard for doing something stupid. That exists with clauses, sure, but there isn't "enough" of it. I feel like the strategy changes up in a way that encourages otherwise stupid moves (like switching out a pokemon the next move it's been sleep'd). You're right. I wish I knew a lot more about the official tourney rules than I do, and I really appreciate that you put a lot of the basics out there in your post. I'd look them up myself but no matter how hard I google, I never turn anything up. :[ Only the TCG tourney rules, which is useless to me. Thanks for that advice. I really need to make my team "sweepier", and Kingdra has been working out for me so far. I don't do much setting up with him: his STAB outrage is sweet, though perhaps I'd do better with a dragon dance or two? I'm thinking about putting a choice scarf onto Porygon Z, or switching him out for an Alakazam.
  11. Tyranitar and Dragonite are banned from official tourneys. If you win against someone and they know that, they're going to give you crap about it. You might want to consider switching it out for a different poke: hippowdon replaces him pretty nicely if sands stream needs to be in your set.
  12. I am not saying that they are effectively the same religion, I am saying that because so many stories are similar that all three religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) worship the same deity. All of them have different takes on him, but he is still the god of Abraham to all three of them. He's still the God that told a man to build the arc, he's still the god that created the earth in a week's time. Christianity is the worst example you could possibly give as having a unified opinion on what kind of character the abrahamic god is. Every division has an entirely different approach to him. In fact, there are sects of Christianity that I'm sure you are aware of that teach that god hates us all. What I am getting at here, Wraith and Turtle, is that it's not the god they worship or the scripture they read that makes Judaism, Christianity, and Islam different, it is the group's general interpretation of those scriptures and the actions of their god within it. I am CERTAIN that I could make a case for Islam's God being a loving one that accepts all people just as I am certain that I could make a case for Christianity's God being angry and unforgiving.
  13. Based on the stories told by all three of their holy texts, you could make whatever assumptions you want about the big guy in the sky those stories talk about. People often attribute the God in the old testament as "angry" for example, while other people justify him differently. There are so many ways to interpret the god of the Torah, Bible, and Qu'ran that it ultimately comes down to the individual to decide what god should be like.Certainly, texts from all religions do not favor non believers and dissenters. Just because Islam puts more emphasis on that idea does not mean it is a different god they believe in.
  14. Do you have any idea what Islam is about? Do you know what the Qu'ran is? Did you know there are accounts of Jesus in the Qu'ran? Did you know the Qu'ran and the stories in it are exceedingly similar to the bible and the torah?A lot of christians think that islam is so much different from their own belief, but the truth is that they most definitely believe in the same "god". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qu%27ran#The_Torah_and_the_Bible
  15. I never claimed it was based off of fairy tales (such as the story of noah), only suggesting that if it was (as randomspot555 suggested) then it should not be presented as fact.As for Zeitgeist, I have never seen the movie as I tend to dismiss works created by crazy highschool dropouts like the director of Zeitgeist. (I think I might start a debate thread just to discuss conspiracy docus)
  16. Awesome, guys! ^^ I'm glad my suggestion worked out. I'm going to throw my info in right away!
  17. The only board I've ever personally applied this sort of thing to was phpBB. I've seen a similar effect around, but I'm not sure if any of the boards I saw this sort of thing on were vBulletin. I've never worked with vBulletin, either, so I have no idea how extensible it is.
  18. Simply going as fast as you can in a plane would not effect the flow of time around you. You'd need to go faster than the speed of light to actually effect the flow of time around you, and as far as I know you'd never be able to go "back in time". It would appear to you that everything else was simply moving faster in time than you (if you could somehow observe anything whilst going faster than the speed of light).Even if human beings could go faster than the speed of light, they would certainly die as soon as they achieved this and they would not go "back in time", which again makes this thread's original scenario impossible to begin with.
  19. I'm not sure if vBulletin supports it, but there are forums out there that provide specific fields for entering Wii Friend Codes, Xbox360 Gamertags, PSN Usernames and the like. This makes it exceedingly easy to find someone's contact info if the two of you decide to play a game together (like Pokemon, of course). I was wondering if there was any chance Project Pokemon might implement something along those lines for userprofiles? There would be fields for all three Pokemon games currently out (which would be hidden if no information was put into them) and maybe fields for gamertags and other wii games like Smash Bros or whatever. What say you?
  20. Oh, from . Yeah, alright. I'll PM you with my Pearl Friend Code soon, and I'll breed that torchic right away.
  21. Just like there are parallels between the story of Jesus Christ and other "sons of god" throughout history. I was not unaware of the similarities. If it IS based on a fairy tale, perhaps it should not be presented in a book labeled as the word of god. The Bible is taken by millions as an accurate history of the Earth, and that is a very. Scary. Thought.
  22. I would prefer if it was legit, but if no one else comes forward and wants to trade with me, I might settle for the event larvitar you're offering to clone. What year is he, what event was he given out at? I'd like to research the event to see if there's anything particularly special about him.
  23. The Wii has better exclusives but I don't see Nintendo doing anything exciting with them right now. Super Mario Galaxy was meh, Pokemon Battle Revolution is nowhere near as great as it's Gamecube counterparts, only one Zelda game so far and it's a Gamecube port, the Metroid game was decent. Even if those games were fhadslfaAWESOMEOMG, that's only like three games. Animal Crossing is really the game I play most on it, and even then it's hard to get myself to do it sometimes. Online play is a drag, friend codes are annoying. What the hell, Nintendo? I play my 360 the most. It consistently outperforms the supposedly "superior" PS3. Cross Platform games always look best on 360 when they are put next to eachother. The 360 has the best online experience and it's big sellers are a blast to play.
