  1. Nice! And since you said it matches sample0519.bin, then that means we just need to figure out how to use these multiboots.
  2. Just wondering, is the Negaiboshi Jirachi distribution limited to one per save like WISHMAKR/Channel or is it unlimited like Shiny Zigzagoon and the various 10th Anniversary events?
  3. So basically, use different system and copy just for editing in items and trade them to your main game. Or edit the Pokemon then Bank them if you don't have a second system.
  4. That's what I meant by "as legit as possible" earlier. A perfectly replicated algorithm + multiboot = events that are indeed as legit as they can possibly be when ignoring factors like trash bytes and the fact that the multiboot ROM isn't from an official distro cart or disc. If anything, it'd be a great way to replace the likes of the US 10 ANNIV events, Festa/ROCKS Metang (provided they used the 10 ANNIV/10 ANIV algorithm as early as 2005), SPACE C Deoxys (which I bet was from a distro cart considering it was distributed for almost three months) and the US 10 ANIV events. As for events with variable trash bytes, I wouldn't even bother adding them to a homebrew distro ROM.
  5. Wouldn't the algorithm generate the trash bytes if it's generating via GBA multiboot? Or are the trash bytes a product of the official distro cart/ROM (or disc/ISO in the case of Berry Glitch Fix Zigzagoon, Ageto Celebi, WISHMAKR Jirachi and CHANNEL Jirachi)? Ignore that, I didn't see the post above this one. Ugh, these damn trash bytes are starting to make me think an open source multiboot ROM is only worth it for people who don't care about them. And at that point, just gen. Ok, I apologize for that. I've had time to calm down. I was just frustrated at seeing "yeah, but the trash bytes" for the millionth time. I get why they're important, but they're still frustrating. Makes me glad GameFreak fully embraced Wonder Cards in Gen 4 and have kept them every since. They make life so much easier. Besides, the people hoarding events just because they're rare frustrate me even more. But that's a rant for another time.
  6. Thinking about it, I'd be fine with a GC/Wii homebrew program that can handle every Gen 3 event we have the algorithms for (or can figure out). I'd prefer a GBA or DS one for the portability, but I'd be fine with anything. Like I said, I'm only suggesting this so we can replace distros that are lost forever (like the US 10 ANNIV). I personally feel as long as the event Pokemon is generated the EXACT same way it was originally, it'd still be legit even if it was from a homebrew distro.
  7. That's a good thought on being to cover other generation algorithms with a custom ROM. It'd make distributing the likes of Ageto Celebi And WISHMAKR/CHANNEL Jirachi a lot easier (and portable). Plus you could remove the "one Pokemon per file" limit if you wanted.
  8. I'm not saying hack the 10ANNIV ROM, I'm talking about extracting the generation algorithm from the 10ANNIV ROM and using it to make an entirely new ROM. But considering no one's bothered at this point, I'll try to make this is the last time I bring it up. Only reason I did was because a custom ROM that uses the actual event generation method could be an "as legit as possible" replacement for the distros that are lost forever.
  9. Right now, I'm just wondering what pre-2006 events used the 10ANNIV/10 ANIV generation method (if any) and how hard it'd be to make a custom GBA or DS distro ROM using said generation method that allows you to select ANY of the Pokemon using that method (including the 10ANNIV/10 ANIV ones) and which language you're sending to.
  10. I wouldn't even worry about RNGing the 10ANNIV Pokemon if you intend on sending them to Gen 7 because of Hyper Training.
  11. If you're on Windows, you can use a program called FAT32 Format (guiformat). It works very well.
  12. Boring? That sounds like something that could be remade! I remember people got DS Download Play working through PC Wi-Fi years ago, this sounds like a similar deal.
  13. Sounds likely. I remember reading that for Gen 7, Local Wireless is just connecting to the internet somehow. I think that was found out during Worlds last year.
  14. Plus we don't know if Japan even had Wireless Distribution carts like North America and Europe had. I'm leaning toward "they didn't" considering their DS Download Stations were internet connected PCs (or something like that).
  15. I remember seeing some DS repros on Etsy that only worked in DS Phat and DS Lite. Could try these in a DSi or 3DS and if they work, they might be legit. Granted, I don't know if there are repros out there that DO work on DSi and 3DS, but I can't think of any other legitimacy tests for these carts.
  16. The distros I'd love to see dumped are the US 10th Anniversary ones (ESPECIALLY Celebi). Of course if the algorithm for them matches the UK 10th Anniversary distro, then an unofficial one would suffice.
  17. You will. But I STRONGLY recommend going to Arm9LoaderHax while you're still able.
  18. I'm wondering why the Mystic Ticket GBAs are connected by link cable considering it was a wireless event. EDIT: I know Japanese FRLG and Emerald used Mystery Gift for e-Reader connectivity, but that was just for the Trainer Tower/Trainer Hill and not events.
  19. Sounds like ACE is just a convoluted in-game way to replace a GameShark/Action Replay.
  20. I don't think Japan had wireless distro carts (just Slot 2). I know I said it before, but I remember reading that their DS Download Stations were handled by internet connected PCs instead of DS carts (due to being a more internet connected country than the Western ones). It's a safe bet their wireless Pokemon distributions were handled the same way.
  21. It also breaks the rxTools CFW (finally).
  22. What'd be really cool is if they work Crystal's Mobile Data Center into the 3DS's online, but that'd mean altering things for the non-Japanese release.
  23. Considering you can buy Rare Candies with Battle Points (and get a bunch of Battle Points from Bank), I don't see that being something they'd ban for.
  24. It helps that the VC Mews are always perfect DV clones. And considering Glitch Mews are blocked (unless you use the 8F method to change the OT and TID), I wouldn't surprised if more VC Mew events happen this year.
