  1. Do you have access to homebrew? http://smealum.github.io/3ds/
  2. I haven't heard of Yakaratools, but if you can use emuNAND, you can use CFW. I recommend updating to Luma, or even Arm9LoaderHax and Luma.
  3. IIRC, that's an edited battle video, so anything's possible.
  4. With Ocarina of Time + Powersaves, you'd have to start Ocarina of Time, load a save, and open the inventory every time you want to use homebrew, and even then, future firmware updates could render this unusable. (And because of the PASLR stuff, this still might not be able to manage Sun/Moon saves.) Hard mod installers can install CFW, which comes with much more benefits, like the ability to install homebrew and ROM hacks to the home menu. Hard mod installations usually cost around 40 to 60 USD, not including shipping (so anywhere from 50 to 80 USD total). As @Ammako mentioned, purchasing another 3DS is an option, but if it's on 11.0 or above, then it won't be any more beneficial than keeping your current 3DS. Careful with this. From what I can tell, Nintendo is pretty inconsistent on this. They prefer you do a system transfer, which requires access to two consoles.
  5. You can either wait an unknown amount of time until new exploits are found, or pay someone to hardmod your 3DS.
  6. Basically Nintendo added something to newer firmwares that make save editing harder to do, but hackers are working on a way around it.
  7. Hmm... I do remember that being mentioned somewhere. Since I have CFW, I haven't paid much attention to that kind of thing. I think Smealum said he found a way around it, so it may be best to avoid purchasing anything until this happens. (Although Ocarina of Time is still a good game IMO.)
  8. Powersaves is a separate device. You need both it and Ocarina of Time for homebrew.
  9. There's some documentation here. Dates are expected to be in the form yyyyMMdd. Setting items might be possible with a little redesign of the batch editor. (Perhaps use custom attributes on properties marking particular integers as "Items" or "Poké Balls", and parsing the user input as such. I might be able to take care of this at some point.)
  10. AFAIK, since you're on 11.2, your options for primary exploits are: Cubic Ninja Freakyforms Deluxe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time + Powersaves If you don't have any of the games and need to buy something, I'd recommend Ocarina of Time + Powersaves, since they're easy to find and Ocarina of Time is a great game in its own right. There's other games listed on Smealum's site that also work on 11.2, but require homebrew access to install. These are called secondary exploits.
  11. First off, because of time zones and personal schedules, you should wait at least a day or two before bumping. As for your question, a list of exploitable games can be found here: https://smealum.github.io/3ds/ Not all of them work on all firmwares. Once you get homebrew set up, use JKSM to import and export your saves.
  12. The dungeon stats are stored in mappa_s.bin. The gist of what we know can be found at mdrngzer's docs. Psy_commando has notes somewhere with a little more structural information, and if you want to read some VB.Net source code, I have a class that can parse mappa_s.bin files here.
  13. Guess I'd better take it to the shop
  14. Actually, PKHeX is a great idea, and the 3ds is designed to not be exploitable.
  15. Try using Tools -> Data -> Dump Boxes, after loading a Gen 6 save.
  16. Pcdata.bin is very outdated. Try installing CFW and using JKSM.
  17. The GARC file format is different, and the tools used to extract them aren't currently public AFAIK.
  18. SciresM and Kaphotics et al have been making great progress datamining. So far, we have information on wild encounters, Pokémon and move stats, game and story text, box sprites, and more! Please be aware that these resources may contain spoilers, so if you want everything to be a surprise, you should probably stop reading here. Still here? Here's the the results of the datamine: Part 1: Starter Stats and Moves Part 2: More Stats Part 3: Even More Stats Part 4: Legendary Stats Part 5: Ultra Beast Stats Part 6: Mythical Stats Part 7: Game and story text https://projectpokemon.org/research/sunmoon/gametext.txt https://projectpokemon.org/research/sunmoon/storytext.txt Part 8: Learn-sets https://projectpokemon.org/research/sunmoon/learnsets.txt Marshadow's Signature Move Alolan Forms & Zygarde View full article
  19. PKHeX is a save editor. It has nothing to do with how you get your save. What firmware is your 3DS on? The lower your firmware, the easier it will be to get homebrew access without purchasing anything.
  20. As intrigued as I am, we don't support piracy here, so I'll have to close this thread.
  21. Of course!
  22. It depends on how illegal it is. In most cases, nothing will happen. Attempting to use them online won't work, but we don't support that anyway.
  23. Most cartridges' saves (including Pokemon) are encrypted on a per-cartridge basis. It is not possible to restore your backup without the original cartridge. If you backed it up with a cia save manager beforehand, it would have been decrypted, and therefore reusable.
  24. Try using this tool to extract and repack: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?50368-Net-3DS-Toolkit-Extract-and-Repack-3DS-ROMs-(and-CIAs)
  25. I fixed a bug where the "Post New Thread" button wasn't visible. Sorry for any inconvenience.
