  1. Yeah, you might be thinking about newer games, where some newer games place restrictions on starters and others don’t. You gotta remember the shiny lock mechanism in main series handheld console games itself didn’t really exist or functional until Gen 5.
  2. Just spit balling here, lack of time, lack of interest (maker and third parties), other priorities, reasons related to date of discovery vs tool published, etc. Since you're interested, and you were told the offsets, why don't you guys make it? Don't take this the wrong way, but ngl the way you phrased that statement sounds hella entitled.
  3. In general: Celebi - Wasn't distributed shiny in Gen 3, neither could it be caught. Any Shadows in XD. Any non-event not mentioned here could be encountered shiny. Using RS as a reference (since you mentioned it), all in-game encounters can be shiny, even the Ralts that Wally encounters.
  4. If the save loads in PKHeX, it happens to appear supported. There’s still a chance something breaks after the edit. Do know that every ROM hack maker might do/require something unique that the base games don’t. Unofficial games won’t be supported. (If it happens to load, it just means the hack is close enough to the original). For PKHeX to support unofficial games, it’ll require a 3rd party forking PKHeX and making their own modifications. still I think it is worth a try.
  5. While not officially endorsed by Nintendo, you’re asking for ROM dump of a commercial product. I won’t infract you due to the weird circumstance, but do know asking for ROMs is against our rules and you shouldn’t do it again :3 Also, while we might have AR codes and the like, we are by no means an AR forum. Your issue sounds frustrating. I do hope you go to a support channel/forum better equipped to deal with your issue.
  6. Version Beta 28

  7. Part of my steps here mentions how to inject arm9.bin:
  8. Yeah it certainly was fun, but I think it’s been too long since it was managed
  9. If I’m not mistaken, the issue here is legal.exe has not been updated for a long time. Sounds like a bad idea.
  10. Is legal.exe even updated for current legality checks?
  11. So let's say you want Ho-Oh for example. 1. Make sure the coordinates are for the Red Wormhole 2. Make sure you unset Flag 4 (not the species number. Literally flag number 4) 3. Make sure you set the other numbers 1 through 15, except 4. If you're still having difficulties, I don't how else to explain it.
  12. The flags portion of the excel sheet. Event flags. Set or unset them.
  13. what's with the title.
  14. You can perform coordinate editing: There are some limitations; I think you'll need to be in a cave before you attempt to teleport to a different spot. It might work best if you save in a random ultra wormhole spot before attempting to teleport. Make sure you keep a safe backup of the unedited save.
  15. PID and IV is linked for mons caught in Gen 3. Shininess is dependent on PID, TID and SID. So to change the IVs of a Shiny Mew, you have to change the PID to keep the combination valid. And to keep it shiny on the newly changed PID, you would have to change the TID and SID to.
  16. Use a Sandshrew from LGP in the encounter database as the base of your edits. Tools > Data > Encounter Database
  17. Load the game without loading save states. And please stop multi-posting. Either think long and hard before you post, so that they're all in one post; or edit any new info into your latest unanswered post. I look forward to hearing whether loading without state saves works for you.
  18. Did you export the edited save from PKHeX? Did you restore the edited save into your game? Did you load the saves normally? (as opposed to loading state saves)
  19. Then play on your physical device. If you can't save in-game on the emulator, the 'save' can't be used on PKHeX. We can help with save issues, but that is an emulator caused issue, beyond our skills. You gotta go to the support page/discord/forum for the emulator.
  20. As I said earlier, I've not edited that frame before, no idea where it is. That appears to be beyond the scope of editing stuff niche to Pokemon, but rather all VC edits in general, so you may have better luck searching the net for general VC edits. For now, I'm trying to scour the net for it too. edit: Linking to our discussion on Discord for posterity: https://discord.com/channels/343093766477053953/367479180398428170/904804660328673370
  21. To be frank, it's been a while since I've dealt with them and had to think about them. Try to see which could be mounted and would give you the files. The game name should correspond to the patch. I've managed to find one of the game names from my older extracts, and it is something like As for why there are 2.app files, no clue. I think there being more than 1 is normal even for 3DS titles tho. Edit: Yup, perform the standard steps to dump romfs, including mounting 00000001.app image to drive, then viewing it. The ROM is in a folder called rom, and all the patches are outside.
  22. It's been a while since I missed with VC edits. I *think* you need to decompile the .app file to get separate files. GodMode9 should be able to do that. Once done, you'll find the GB/GBC ROM for the Pokemon game + all the patch files. There will be more than one patch file, with various patch files for different Pokemon games and languages (even tho you're technically only working on one single game.) The patch files should have the GB/GBC game IDs in it. I don't know anything about modifying the VC frame itself, never tried it.
  23. Based on what you provided, it doesn't appear the save is properly initialized. 1) Receive your starter, access the PC at least once 2) Save twice in the game itself (not using Citra's state save. save the game using the menu inside the game, you know, pressing the 3DS X key and all) 3) Close the emulator completely when trying to access the save in PKHeX There is no data in the file for PKHeX to read. You need to save properly for there to be data for PKHeX to read.
  24. I wasn't aware of that part, good to know
