  1. If that's truly all that's involved with getting a Pokemon to be perfectly "legal", my program lets you set everything in a more convenient way (unless you need to modify the save file, rather than using codes). I'd appreciate people testing it out for this purpose as well.
  2. A new version has been uploaded. The PID generator will be updated next, assuming no other problems are discovered. After that, I'll see about adding the ability to generate more than one Pokemon at a time.
  3. There are several things I'm unfamiliar with regarding the Pokemon data. As you discovered, this was one of them. I'll add some more information to the tooltip, thanks. Edit: Btw, the generator has the ability to generate a Sky Form Shaymin directly but I apparently broke it in the current version. It's fixed for the next release. Thanks. I don't currently have the actual hardware to test on myself, so I have no idea what its limitations are. The generator is made with a language called C++, with Visual Studio (software that provides an environment for editing, debugging, and much more). If you genuinely have interest in programming, you've probably heard of them before. I'm not sure what more to say than that, you'd have to ask something more specific.
  4. I doubt I'll get many, or any, responses to this, but does anyone actually use this program for the GBA games? I was considering removing support for them to make things a little easier on myself, but I'm not sure. That's not a bad idea, although it'd probably require quite a bit of work with the way it's currently designed. I may do it, but only after I get the PID generator the way I want it. Do you happen to know just how many lines can be in a single code on the Action Replay? It'd have to be limited for sure, I just don't know what that limit is.
  5. Yes, they're no different than all the other .pkm files you get elsewhere. However, I would expect that it isn't 100% capable of generating legal Pokemon at the moment. (It'll get there, I just need more information.) If you have problems getting it to show as legal, feel free to post in the thread about it and I'll see what I can do.
  6. This program may make what you want to do easier.
  7. I honestly don't have a clue what it's for either, but for someone trying to achieve a completely legal Pokemon, they probably need to be able to set it. As for a specific list for HG/SS, there may be a few new "encounter" types, but most of them will still be the same. You caught it right in the middle of me updating it.
  8. corpsegirl tried to point you here, but the link got mangled, so here you go. This can do what you want.
  9. I've updated it to version 1.2. This fixes the location issue as well as adding informative tooltips to nearly everything.
  10. I tested and confirmed that this is happening. I'll look into it. Edit: I've fixed the problem. I'll be uploading a new version fairly soon, with a much-needed addition as well. You probably can modify certain memory addresses to change stats while in a battle, but they'd only be temporary, if that even works at all. For the purposes of this program though, no, nothing like that can be done. I was considering adding the ability to see what the resulting stat would be based on the level, IV, and EVs you've entered though.
  11. It's obvious what caused your problem, since the change I made fixed it for you. The old codes were overwriting data that they shouldn't have been, which the game didn't like.
  12. *cough* It has a character map that includes the Japanese "characters". Just go to the nickname or original trainer editbox and it'll pop up. It lets you double click on the character you want and produces a hexadecimal representation of it.
  13. I think this is the case. However, my program does work, at least for generating AR codes. Edit: Oh, I guess Pokesav does work. It wouldn't hurt to take a look at what I've created though! It's in one of the 500 AR threads here. I don't know exactly where though. Edit: ...Dahon got that already too I couldn't give a definitive answer on the rest of your questions. Regarding perfectly legitimate Pokemon, however, my program should let you modify everything that's needed to do it. I just don't have the information on exactly what needs to be set.
  14. You're welcome, I'm glad the issue is resolved. I wouldn't have had many ideas for what else could be causing it.
  15. I've managed to reproduce this one now. It's apparently the result of using a box other than box 1. I'll look into the problem and see what I can do. For now, however, just use box one and it'll work. IAMFORTE, this may also be related to your problem. You can try using the first box only and see if you still have the same problem. Again, I'll fix this ASAP. Edit: Ok, I've uploaded a new version which properly handles generating Pokemon in any box. IAMFORTE, please test this to see if it resolves your problem as well.
  16. Are you doing this on an emulator or the DS? I can imagine it happening on an emulator more than the real DS hardware, but either way is pretty bizarre. I honestly have no idea what would cause it to happen. I've never experienced this myself, but I've also always done it on emulators. (Specifically DeSmuME.) Can you post the codes that're causing this problem? I'd like to try them for myself. I also need to know specifically which game you're using. (Including the region it's for.)
  17. My program has updated locations and balls!
  18. I just tested this and it worked fine for me. I'd need the steps you're taking to produce this problem from the moment you open the calculator. I opened it, checked "Egg", and generated the code. This produced a non-"Bad Egg" for me. I just tested and was correct in how I thought the spiky-eared Pichu is made. I've added it to the next version of the program. It'll be uploaded later today, or within a few days.
  19. You can just use my program to generate whatever Pokemon you want for the events. (and more) I've had no complaints about it not working so far, so I'm assuming that it does in fact work with everything.
  20. I haven't used Pokesav, but I know that my program's codes work. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?6424-Pokemon-Calculator-%28Alternative-to-Pokesav-for-Pokemon-editing%29-%28Updated-for-HG-SS-%5BUS%5D%29
  21. I've updated the program with Heart Gold/Soul Silver (US) support. Please read versions.txt for more details.
  22. Thanks. It might be a little while before the next update, as I've been busy with other things. To implement Morfeo's suggestion, the next version's PID generator will have a few more features. Generating a PID for B-A-C-D (unrestricted) probably won't be instant or close to it, so I have to change a bit to accomodate the process. Edit: Just as a note, this thread may end up deleted. The people with "power" on the IRC channel seemed to be in bad moods or something and banned me over trying to get clarity on a (generally meaningless) topic. I may make another thread on some other popular forum, but I don't know where yet. If it's deleted, sorry to those who were actually using it and looking forward to updates.
  23. You told me what I needed to know, thanks. I was thinking about it wrong when I made my post as well, so that might be why you were confused.
