resource Pokémon B/W - Wild Pokemon Editing
Oxnite replied to Drayano's topic in ROM - NDS Guides and Other Resources
If you'd make this, I'd be so thankful. Then I could start creating a whorty B/W hack, as hex editing costs too much time for me. -
According to this page (scroll down), it doesn't do anything.

Nobody is going to describe 'what you have to do' in steps - there are tutorials on internet. As TheShadowWalke said, the HG / SS Hero is indeed named Ethan. Furthermore, what is your sense of the word 'graphics'? Do you for example mean their Overworld Sprite (the sprite you see when you walk around in towns / routes) or the battle sprite? Anyway, both these sprites can be edited simply by following a tutorial from someone called KazoWAR. He created very nice and detailled tutorials which you should follow step by step. - For Trainer Battle sprites, use . It has 4 parts, but eventually, editing Trainer Sprites will be a second nature (you might want to write down the steps). - For Overworld sprites, use . This is a very easy and short tutorial. If you want to edit text in a DS Pokémon Game, you should use a programme called thenewpoketext, which is included in the download of PPRE (Project Pokémon's Rom Editor). Type 'thenewpoketext tutorial' @Google and the first link has a nice tutorial for you.

Oh, wait! My first post might have caused some confusion. I actually meant the Pokémon HG / SS Pokémon Battle sprites - these, for example: They are misplaced in Pokémon Platinum; for example, a Pikachu sprite is slightly below it's shadow in a battle.

heartgold / soulsilver Pokemon Showdown! (Version 1 Released!)
Oxnite replied to Guested's topic in ROM - NDS ROM Hacks
I only know Miror. B from these people. They all need a Trainer Sprite to be inserted, so that might be hard to make.. -
So I just continued working on my project: Pokémon Platinum Deluxe! I'm now doing a playthrough and debug it, then I'll continue the progress. I already found a bug, though. I've added all the HG / SS sprites, but their placing seems incorrect. As if the HG / SS have another x or y position on the field. Does somebody know how to fix this? Is there a corresponding .narc file that holds all the x and y coordinates of each HG / SS Pokémon sprite, that I have to add to Pokémon Platinum? Thanks a lot for any helpful reply.

I voted 126-150, but I think there'll be around 140 - 160 new Pokémon. AT LEAST more than 100 - I mean, the Johto Region had 100 new Pokémon and they had to mix the Dex with Gen I ones. This Generation will have Generation V Pokémon ONLY before the League; there will be at least 140 / 150, or else they are not able to fill the enormous Region with all kinds of different Pokémon.

Well, this is the story. I tried to add some 'Fakemon,' just with fun / testing purposes. For example, I changed Growlithe in some kind of mushroom and Staryu in a fairy. I made that mushroom evolve in the fairy, so that means Growlithe evolves into Staryu. Staryu can't evolve any further this way, so I deleted Starmie as his evolution. Then I edited their names via thenewpoketext, their sprites via PokéDSPic and their Party Sprites with PokéDSPicParty. Subsequently I edited their movesets. They now both have a completely different moveset, with all kinds of grass moves. Oh, and their Pokédex Information, Types, Egg Groups, Hold Items, Base EXP and all these other things have been edited as well. So I caught a 'Growlithe' (mushroom) in the game. I trained it and it learned all the moves it should learn, for example Poisonpowder etc. At level 27 it evolved correctly. But the fairy (Staryu) was a bit messed up when talking about moveset. It should learn Synthesis at level 33 and so it did, but it learned moves like Frenzy Plant and Dragon Rage as well. At level 34, it shouldn't learn a move, but it learned Dragon Rage 5 times, so I had to stop them all. Every level I raised it, it learned more attacks, like Signal Beam, Dragon Rage, Frenzy Plant and Tail Whip. I have to say that these moves were predominant. Maybe I messed up something while editing. I hope somebody knows how to fix this. -
Open PokéDSPic again and check if the fake Pokémon's sprite is still there. If it isn't, add it again and don't forget to click the 'Write to Rom' button. And didn't you forget to replace the original narc with the edited pokegra.narc? Open the rom you want to edit with NitroExplorer, search for the original pokegra.narc and click 'Reinsert', to replace that .narc with the edited one.

I have some troubles with the Pokémon Editor. For example, I changed a Pokémon's moveset and now it keeps learning weird moves every level it gains. For example, at level 33, it keeps learning Dragon Rage and Frenzy Plant, as if it is programmed 100 times. It kept showing up, so I had to learn it.. I really like the Script Editor changes though. Keep this great work up! -
Could you please tell us why it was freezing and how you solved it. Instead of just locking this topic, it could help others, including me.

Hi Alpha. I've got a little question. To make the programme more convenient, could you implement something like this?: In the Map Editor > Events > Overworlds > Sprite, you see a number. For example, 4 gives a Youngster Overworld Sprite. Couldn't you change the numbers to real text? For example, a drop-down menu which has all the overworld sprites? That would be very convenient. I already have the list with overworld sprites! -
Ehm, the link in the topic should work for you... Anyway, CLICK HERE to download PPRE, it will automatically start downloading.

Hah okay! That's great. I totally forgot to fix the Solaceon Bug in this version though! I'll try to fix it tomorrow so I can upload it as Version 2.1. There seems to be a little bug in Hearthome as well (with the Secret Key Event).

No, no random encounters! The items you need to activate the events can be found in the game. I still have to do that, though, but I'm currently working on some other things. UPDATE; POKéMON PLATINUM DELUXE VERSION 2.0 RELEASE I tried a new patching way this time, it's called tsukuyomi (UPS). I found it on my computer, so hey, why not try it? If it doesn't work at all, please say it as soon as possible! I added the GUI (original) patching method as well. What's new in Version 2.0? You can play till the 5th Gym and even do the Storyline (with the originally running Galactic Grunt)! All New Evolution Methods have been added! A lot of bugs have been edited! Please check the Bug List in the 1st post. Some Bugs can't be edited yet (for example, the 2nd Gym is still quite messy). Some Events have been edited, for example the Valley Windworks Event. A lot of text as been improved / edited. [ -- DOWNLOAD BETA 2.0 GUI -- ][ -- DOWNLOAD BETA 2.0 UPS -- ] Not sure which to pick? Just try the first (GUI) one. If that one doesn't work, you can choose the second (UPS) one. Question: I already played with the older version, do I have to start a new game now? Answer: No! You have to do the following. You need a new, untrimmed Pokémon Platinum Rom. Now you patch that Rom. After you patched that Rom with Version 2, you have to rename you .SAV file, so it matches the patched .ROM file!

Sorry for Double Post, but, else you might not see this update, lol. @Alpha, filling in \v0103\z0000 for every variable name doesn't work... For example: How do I fix this? UPDATE: Oh damn, I should try myself first. I already found it.. For Rival: \v0103\z0000 For Hero: \v0103\z0001 -

I just downloaded it again from the first post and all I see are formats like; \v0100\z0002\z0000 \v0103\z0000\z0000 Is that right? Oh and another thing! You know how some Routes have two parts, right? For example, Route 212 has a Part A and a Part B. I can't seem to edit both parts anymore -- only Part B. Earlier versions of PPRE have the A and B behind them, but that's gone now, too, it seems. Do you maybe know why this is? Or did I screw something up? -

Seriously? Wow, that is very convenient! So if I put in \v0103\z0000, it will not get buggy in the Text Editor? -
tutorial PPRE Tutorial & FAQ
Oxnite replied to Oxnite's topic in ROM - NDS Guides and Other Resources
You'll need a programme called PokéDSPic. If you want to do this on a Pokémon Platinum game, you should use PokéDSPicPlatinum. Just Google it and you'll find it. Thanks for your comment! -
tutorial PPRE Tutorial & FAQ
Oxnite replied to Oxnite's topic in ROM - NDS Guides and Other Resources
Thanks a lot for this comment! I had some PM's from people on different forums and they all had troubles with PPRE. I had to explain it over and over and that's why I decided to create this tutorial. Even I had some problems to get it working, actually! I'm planning to add all the questions from the official PPRE thread to the FAQ. Oh, and thanks for the compliment, hah! -

Really thanks for all your effort, Alpha and SCV. You're really doing a great job! I've got one question. You know how the Hero and the Rival have variable names, right? Say I called my Hero Ash. When I save the game, the Hero variable name looks like this: Ash )*)@*&$, with all these weird tokens behind it. @Alpha, we talked about this before iirc, but are you able to solve this in a later version? ÁND, what is the variable for the hero and the rival? It should be something like: \v0103ぁ\x0000\x0000 for the Rival \v0103ぁ\x0001\x0000 for the Hero But these don't work completely. Thanks a lot in advance, my game looks kinda buggy with all those variable names messed up. -
PPRE Tutorial & FAQ Welcome to the Project Pokémon´s ROM Editor Tutorial and FAQ! Please go to THIS TOPIC to download the newest version of PPRE. This tutorial should give you all the information you'll need to get the programme working. Some extra information is given in CODE fields. You can ignore these parts of the tutorial if you already know how it works. If you already have your map with the downloaded files and a Rom File, you can SKIP STEP 1. If you're uncertain if you did the right things, just read STEP 1 as well. Tutorial Step 1 First create a New Map. For example, go to My Documents, hit the right mouse button and select 'New > Map'. Rename this map to 'PPRE' for convenience. I'll call the new created map PPRE from now on. The second step is to download the programme. Check the official PPRE Topic for a download link. What you actually download is a .ZIP file. Extra: What are .ZIP files and how do I open them? With special programmes, you can create .ZIP files. .ZIP files make it easier to carry different files; it compresses SEVERAL files to ONE file. For example; to get PPRE working, you need 3 other files. Instead of downloading these 3 other files seperately, you can just download them all at once via a .ZIP (''package'') file. You can open .ZIP files with programmes like WinRAR or WinZIP. Evaluation Versions of these programmes can be downloaded for free from their sites. Just click one of the links below to go to their official site.

WinRAR
WinZIP
Open the downloaded .ZIP file with either WinRAR of WinZip. It contains 4 files, which should be: ndstool.exe ppre.exe Tabel.tbl thenewpoketext.exe If this is correct, select the 4 Files and hit the right mouse button. Now click 'Extract...' (or something like that, it might differ between the programmes). (Check the Spoiler for an image) A new screen opens. Search for your new created map and hit the Unzip / Extract button. The 4 files will be extracted to your new map! You now need a Pokémon Rom. It has to be one of the following Roms: Pokémon Diamond Pokémon Pearl Pokémon Platinum Pokémon Heart Gold Pokémon Soul Silver Extra: Where can I download a Rom File? Please remember though that Rom Files are ILLEGAL. You may only use them if you have an original copy of the game. I can't help you with downloading a Rom file as they are illegal. NEVER ask for a Rom File on this forum. The rom has to be UNTRIMMED (untouched). The Rom should be in a .ZIP file, too. You have to Extract the Rom to the SAME NEW MAP! The following thing is very IMPORTANT. Open your new map where your Rom File should be. Now RENAME the Rom File. For example, if you have a Pokémon Diamond rom, rename it to: diamond.nds, if you have a Pokémon Platinum Rom, rename it to platinum.nds and if you have a Soul Silver Rom, rename it to soulsilver.nds, etc.! This might seem unnecessary, but it is very important. What we have is a New Map (hopefully named PPRE) with 5 files (the 4 PPRE files and 1 Pokémon Rom). Step 2 Now you have to open the ppre.exe file. Double click to open it. You should see the following screen (beta-number might differ). Follow the following steps to get the programme working. Never forget any of these steps or it will go wrong! Step 1: type in the name of your Rom (which should be diamond.nds, pearl.nds, platinum.nds, heartgold.nds or soulsilver.nds) in the RED TEXT FIELD. With 'Red' I mean the red-circled field as you can see in the screenshot above. You have to add the '.NDS' suffix! Step 2: Now you click the green-circled button 'Set Rom'. A black screen should open. Please wait, it will take around 1 minute. Do not click anywhere during the progress. When the black screen goes away, you can continue to Step 3. Extra: What is happening during Step 2? The ppre programme is now 'opening' your rom. It uses the ndstool.exe file to create a temporary map, which is needed to edit your Rom. In your PPRE map, a new map should be created, called: tmp_platinum if your game was Pokémon Platinum Version, or tmp_pearl if your game was Pearl, and so on! This map is needed to edit with PPRE, so DO NOT delete that map. Step 3: it's time to edit! I might create a tutorial about how that works, too, but for now, you should be able to do it yourself! You can edit POKéMON, MAPS and TRAINERS. As this is a Beta, you can not edit ABILITIES, ITEMS, MOVES, etc. yet. Don't click that buttons. Step 4: ah, so you changed the things you like? You made Lugia evolve into Magikarp and Pikachu evolve into Arceus? Eh, nice. Now you have to save your game. Take a look at the screenshot. You see the blue-circled textfield? You have to enter the following: pearledit.nds if you were editing a Pearl Rom, platinumedit.nds if you were editing a Platinum Rom, heartgoldedit.nds if you were editing a Heart Gold Rom and so on! Step 5: now click the orange/yellow-circled button 'Write ROM'. Wait a minute again and take a look at your PPRE map. A new file called platinumedit.nds (or something else, depending on the rom you're changing) should be created! YOU NOW PERFECTLY EDITED YOUR ROM! Thanks for using this tutorial! Happy Rom-editing! [ --- I'LL ADD THE FAQ HERE VERY SOON AND UPDATE IT FROM TIME TO TIME, PLEASE HAVE SOME PATIENCE! --- ] @ the Moderators, as my mother language is not English, be free to edit any typo's and spelling errors.
