  1. Well most, if not all; characters belong to a so-called language pack. For example if you need to write something in Chinese you'll have to download and install the Chinese language pack onto your pc. I'm not sure if Pokesav will support any other language packs than the ones it is available in (English, Japanese, Korean. I think?) but it's worth a try. Just google around a bit.
  2. Pressing the backspace key, obviously...
  3. Can't you copy them to Pokesav? Otherwise make sure the facial "language" pack is installed on your pc I guess.
  4. Pokémon stat data is stored in a certain amount of bytes. These bytes only exist on pokémon in your party. If you put a pokémon in a box, the bytes are gone to save memory. When you take it out again, the game looks at base stats, EV's, IV's and recalculates the bytes (and stats). Therefor, yes, they will always revert to what they should be once you put them in a box. Btw, Pokésav works fine on Vista, I use it myself .
  5. It would certainly keep the same moves. Ability however can be a bit tricky. Since Cyndaquil can only learn one ability (Blaze) it would remain the same. If a Pokémon is capable of having two different abilities, however, it won't be enough that you set the ability to the one you choose. The Pokémon class (Class 1 or 2) must also be set to match the corresponding ability. Scyther, e.g. can have both techinician and swarm. If you want a Scyther with technician but you set its class to 1, when it evolve it will have swarm instead. So you need to set the class to 2. If you want your pokémon to have an ability it cannot have in-game (like Wonder Guard on Cyndaquil or something) it will change back to its normal ability when it evolves. The risks? Depends on what you're going to use it for. A Typhlosion with Surf is a hack anyway, so it WILL be recognized. The chance of corrupting your sav file however, is very very slim. Hope that helped.
  6. Well maybe you could give you your system specs? Though they'd have to be really really bad in order to cause those crashes. You could try closing as much background programs as you can in order to clear up some RAM.
  7. That's pretty odd, never happened to me. You could try downloading the compact version and see if it makes any difference. Other than that, I think it's more of an issue with your pc than it is with Pokésav.
  8. Basically you must set the 46h Hex Value to 75 and leave the "met at" to Faraway Place. The game will then read it as Distortion World. Also set 85h to 17.
  9. It means your Darkrai's IV/PID is one from the GBA algorithms. I suggest downloading SCV's IV/PID generator (link on main site I believe). It generates IV/PID's (duh) for a specific set of nature + IV's. It will calculate a IV/PID (if possible, not always true. If it doesn't show anything try slightly editing one of the non-important IV's and try again) and it will also show the type of the IV/PID. You are looking for a "Normal D/P or GBA" type. Pretty much the same as above, but I'm not sure what the unknown type implies.
  10. For the record, it's not, but I'd like to see if there's any room for improvement to make it more legal, and I know some of you people are simply brilliant at spotting hacks so I wanted to give it a shot. I see it as my hacking exam . Much obliged ! Lugia.pkm
  11. Oh, didn't know that . So I can generally turn any PID/IV to shiny with just checking the Shiny button and it won't turn illegal? I refer to non-hatched pokémon btw seeing as hatched ones can have any PID/IV.
  12. IV/PID's also determine the shiny status, if you want it to be shiny you need to get a specific shiny PID. Try SCV's PID generator (link on main site).
  13. If you catch it in the Burnt Tower (which is if you faint it on the first try, it respawns there) it will be 09. So 09 is a legit value if you set 46h/47h to Burnt Tower
  14. Since 07 means "caught in the water" I doubt Ho-oH's is the same. Thanks for the info though.
  15. On a side note, what is the 85h value for Lugia and Ho-oH in HGSS? Are they similar to Palkia/Dialga in D/P or should we just go for "Met in the water" stuff?
  16. -Tin Tower is CD, both Ho-oH and normal. -Ice Path is D9 -Ruins of Alph is D1 -Shinto Ruins is E7 -Union Cave is D2 -Dark Cave is DC -Ilex Forest is D6 Those are all I have which you haven't already listed. Thanks a bunch for this btw, this is exactly what many people needed and I've spent ages looking for some of these on the web! This should be added to the hex values guide.
  17. I think route 11 is 9F 00 respectively. Route 25 should be AD 00. Make sure to check it in-game as I'm not sure .
  18. Thanks a lot for that! You made my day . I have a (pretty limited) list someone here compiled with some routes and towns but it's only about 40 locations long + it's not mine to share. So a list would be really nice. I should play through my game faster so I could check the most important locations myself but yeah I'm a lazy bumm and in-game trainer encounters suck when I have limited time <_<. Anyway: some in-game testing seems to prove my template pretty "legal," as the "egg received at" shows up the same characters everywhere and the "egg hatched at" shows the places I want it to in-game. I'm still not sure whether I should set the "egg received at" to Farawayplace or Daycarecouple, I've heard different things on those and again, I suck at Japanese so I can't check.
  19. 47h is not always 00, in-game trade-received pokémon have 46h = D1 and 47h = 07. Not that they matter, though. Also I do believe that when you make Hatched pokémon the Egg received at location should be DayCareCouple and not Faraway place. But again; I'm not sure.
  20. It's got something to do with Pokesav being unable to read Japanese names if your Windows can't (even if your char name is in English). I think I recall people having this problem before. Just re-enter your name before you save/export the Pokésav file and it should be good I guess.
  21. Alright, but that'd mean that there's no slidebar for "Egg received at," right? Thanks for the info.
  22. Did you change its hometown? Also, I don't think it will be flagged but you can always try it yourself out to make sure though .
  23. Hey, I'm trying to create a blank pokémon template for use with hatched pokémon. This means: correct 44h, 45h, 46h, 47h, and 86h values. Having such a file would mean that instead of having to redo those boring values every time you make a new hatched pokémon you could just load this lv1 hatched Abra file and edit the important stuff (species, moves, etc...). However: Since I am unable to read the slightest word in Japanese I can't verify whether these actually show up correctly (being that the egg was received from the daycare and that it hatched in Ilex Forest). So if anyone could verify this I'd be really grateful . On a side note, what is the difference with "Met at" and "Egg hatched at" because they both come down to the same. I figure one of them is wrongly translated and must mean "Egg RECEIVED at" (presumably this is "Egg hatched at" since it's been like that in previous versions of pokésav but I'm not sure). Anyway, it's very likely I mixed hatched and received locations up in this template so again, verifiation would be really nice! To sum it up: If anyone able to read Japanese could just load this file into their game and verify if all the information (specifically Egg received at and Met at) are legal and shows up as such, that would be awesome . Thanks in advance ! ~Bert PS: This is for HG/SS. Also please change the OT and ID/SID stuff to yours before you check . EggTemplate.pkm
