  3. Introduction Howdy all. After the nightmare that is the question-fest in the comment section of the Japanese Shiny Tapu Koko, I decided to take my time to write this, in hopes that it will shed light on some questions surrounding this, and also future events. Groundwork in terminology To ensure we are all on the same page, some refresher on the terms that will be used. 3DS region refers to the region that your 3DS belongs to, named as per seen in your system settings page. Examples inside: Game Save Language refers to the language you selected at the start of the game. Wonder Card Language refers to the language of the wonder card, identified by the distribution text and distribution title. That is how our wonder cards are categorized in our Event Gallery. Pokemon Language refers to the language of origin of the Pokemon itself. Most wonder cards are programmed to have the generated Pokemon follow the Game Save Language, as opposed to the Wonder Card Language. Region locked: Event redemption (usually code) only redeemable on that one region. Region Free: Event redemption not restricted by regions. Region Expanded: Event may allow multiple regions, but not all. Now that we are all caught up, more reading! Types of distributions in Generation 7 Right now, these are the primary types of distributions, and how they are categorized: Serial code - Region locked or region expanded Local Wireless - Region Free Nintendo Network - Region locked An example of such a scenario is the Lunar Shiny Magikarp. Also, it appears that for HKTW unique distributions, you can only receive the distribution on EU 3DS, If your game save language is ENG, JPN, KOR, CHS or CHT. (thanks @Kirzi ) [meaning otherwise, you won't be able to receive the wonder card] Region locked options The simplicity of Local Distribution events Most, if not all, of Local Wireless and Infrared Region Free events only broadcast the wonder card in one language, which is normally the native language spoken in that country. Example, events held at Mega Tokyo Pokemon Center in Tokyo, Japan usually have Wonder Card Language as JPN. Events held in some mall in South Korea usually has Wonder Card Language as KOR. And since these events are Region Free, you can go and receive them on any 3DS region. Don't get duped by the Language Tab in a summary screen Ah, that black box that is the stuff of nightmares. During the release of the JPN Tapu Koko, people thought that only one that bears the "JPN" can be legit. WRONG. The language of the Pokemon (that we know is generated by Game Save Language) isn't the same as 3DS Region. It'll show up as long as language of Pokemon is different from game save language. Here's an example of the Legal Tapu Koko. As you can see, name and language is ENG, language tag doesn't appear (because game save language is same as PKM language), and 3DS Region is JP, meaning it's completely legal. It is possible for an event to force the pkm language to match the wonder card language, but so far it's only done on Ash-Greninja. Always be aware if the event is Region Locked, and whether it forces the Language of the Pokemon to follow Wonder Card Language. PS: PKHeX isn't programmed to deal with region locked events, as the wonder card themselves doesn't show whether it is region locked. So you may have a Pokemon with the wrong region, and PKHeX wouldn't correct you on it. Conclusion And there you have it. I've imparted all the knowledge I know regarding this. Make good use of this information. I'll give you a potato for surviving this long post, but I can't. Feel free to ask questions, However, anyone who posts questions that have the answers in this, (basically giving me the impression that you didn't read this) shall be royally punished. Haven't thought of how. Do we have any form of community service here, I wonder?

  4. Hello everyone, I'm theSLAYER, your events moderator and forum manager here! First of all, I'll like to thank everyone for their contributions and co-operation thus far! How To Contribute: Wondercard file (WC7/WC7FULL) Extractions can be done via PKHeX or using NTR method (recommended, especially for local events) Requirements for such contribution: 1. DO NOT SUBMIT EDITED/HACKED/FAKE WONDERCARDS 2. Photos of redemption, with proof of user identity (some card with your username) 3. Context: ie. Self obtained? Location? Was it crowded? Collection Process etc. Upcoming and Missing Events: Please do not submit Powersaves extracted entries. edit: table removed. We'll update when we see something. Event Files: Our individual files can be found at our on-site Event Gallery! If you know how to download files from Github (not sorted by region), an overall archive can be found here on our git page. I regularly move old posts to another thread, to prevent cluttering of this thread.

  5. This method while it will produce a "legitimate" WISHMKR Jirachi is in-and-of itself not a legitimate method. The save file you will be creating with this method is not a legitimately obtainable save file through regular gameplay. A backup of your original save should always be stored when doing this method in-case you alter some important values outside of the relevant checksum section! For more information on how to produce a legitimate save file that will still produce your intended WISHMKR Jirachi you can read the 4th and 5th comment on this thread! I know this is not anything new, considering the first time I did it over a year ago there was already some advice as how to do it online. I've been killing time lately and decided I would write up a guide on how I personally have changed the seed for WISHMKR Jirachi in the past. For this process you are going to need: PkHex PSavFixV2 The full list of all possible WISHMKR Jirachis and their seeds A hex editor + hex calculator Basic Math Skills A target seed (for this guide I am aiming at the CF37 Shiny Jolly Jirachi) The first thing you are going to do is make a backup of your current R/S save, and store it somewhere safe. After this has been done, you want to receive a WISHMKR Jirachi from the Colosseum Bonus Disc, and then cross reference the PID of the Jirachi you received with the seed that it came from. As you can see, the seed for the Jirachi I received is 8CD0. Now I am going to open up my backed up save in a Hex editor and search for D0 8C. The location of my seed is at 00006FF0; unfortunately we cannot just edit the seed right here, we need to edit the checksum that verifies if the seed is legitimate. Since my seed is located at 6FF0, my checksum will be located at 5FF0 - > 60A0; your seed may be located at a different value, but it will always end in 'XFF0' and the checksum will always be the '(X-1)FF0'. The first thing I generally do is to start changing lots of values to 00 or 01 to see how it affects the seed value. To check how we are affecting the seed, we are going to use a very old-yet-handy tool PSavFix. The readme for the tool is pretty self explanatory, but we are going to use the tool to recalculate our seed for the adjustments we made to checksum. It is good to just mess around with values and see how it effects the outputted seed, sometimes just mindlessly changing values in this section will bring you close to your intended seed, but if not there is a general strategy. Most of the values in the checksum if increased by 1, will increase your seed by one. A couple of the values if increased by 1 will increase the first/second digit of your seed by 1; I cannot give you specific instructions for which locations do which, as in my experience the locations change save to save. After running PSavfix.exe -fix -RS savefile.sav after some of the edits I made to the checksum, I realized that the '30' value I had would increase the second digit of my seed by 1. As you can see increasing my '30' to a '32' changed my seed from CD1A to CF1A. My intended seed is CF37, so I subtract CD1A from CF37 to realize I need to increase a value in my checksum by 1D. I added the 1D to the 02 value and now I have reached my intended seed! You can now retrieve your intended WISHMKR Jirachi! Again I know this is not anything new, but I hope it is able to help someone if they go googling on how to do this!

  7. Don't understand the problem you're facing. Cannot get 31 Pokemon into a single box? Cannot get Pokemon to have 31 IVs? Cannot take Pokemon out of a box? Can't get 31 Eevees?

  8. While I'm all for users doing speculation, what you're doing isn't even speculation. you just posted random key elements titles, and simple trademarked images. The entire post was rather.. content-less. I'm locking this thread, and probably hiding a few days later. It looks like, all you're doing is sitting back and hoping people will generate discussion for you (same thing you do with the Eeveelution thread, but at least there's more of a basis there) It'll probably be better if you can start the ball rolling and talk about something that will cause discussion, rather than wait for discussion to form.

  10. Nice guide :). By the way, the checksum used is in different places because their routine is broken. If I remember correctly, they loop through each section until they find section 0xD and use the one right before it. What they meant to do, was to loop through all 13 sections and xor the checksums. IIRC, they also screwed up the xor by not assigning the result back to the running value. How do we know they screwed up? Because it was fixed in a later distribution.

  11. I'm pretty sure it'll be a Dragon-type, mostly just because all of the Eeveelutions we have now are based off of the types that were calculated using Special attack in Gens 1 and 2 (before the physical/special split). Every "Special" type has gotten Eeveelution besides Dragon now (plus Fairy, which was added after the split).

  13. Hi all, @Jovie and I are both designers, however I’m also a front-end developer. If you guys and gals want some help with styling, I can author/edit the CSS and even create a quick LESS framework for easy edits to things like colors and sizing in the future. I’d love to help the community incorporate the nice banners and logos designed by Jovie. Inbox me for links to samples of my work. —a
