What would people like as the next Major Trigger's PC Feature? I've got 3 on the chopping block at the moment:

  • Use Items and Feed Pokeblocks to Pokemon
  • In-Tool mart for buying anything purchasable in any game with any currency
  • Event Distribution for Pokemon and Items

Here's a Straw Poll to answer with. You can select multiple options.

Edit: Event Distribution it is!

You going to find a way to include Pokemon Box eggs in those distributions? That'd be cool.

The Pokemon Box Eggs will be included when achievements come around as I'm going to make those achievement requirements. (But they'll be the first achievements I introcude, I'm gonna make it caught by a single trainer and not deposited by a single trainer for the reward since 1. I don't track who deposited it, and 2. It's stilly when people would just give themselves more work by moving Pokemon to one game to trade to Your PC.) At the moment the Event Distribution will be for the GBA Games, and GameCube games once I can find the required flags for them to know when requirements have been fulfilled.

When I use the right click->Deposit all option while viewing the bag contents of one my save files, the items just disappear. They do not appear in the Trigger's PC nor do they seem to appear else where. They just disappear. This however does not happen when I send items to Trigger's PC by right click->Sent to and selecting the PC.

Good catch. I'll fix this as well as the other problem in the next hotfix.

Edit: Were you doing this with a selection or single item?

And just making sure, you are aware deposite and withdraw are for the specific game's PC and bag correct? Did you check your PC?

Hey HaxAras. What would you think of a Level-Down feature. The soul purpose of this would be to have the ability to use a Pokemon through a playthrough at a normally unobtainable level.

How it would work: Level a Pokemon down to level 5 and clear all of its learned moves and replace them with moves it would know at that level. The only Pokemon this would need to apply to would be legendaries, magnemite, and voltorb.

Would you think there would be any legitamacy issues with this or that people would even use it?

I'd like a level down feature to just set Pokemon to their default levels. I like keeping event Pokemon untouched or at least cloning them before I use them.

-- I don't know how there were so many replies to this thread. I never got emailed until now.

I was doing with single item. I check in the specific game's bag,PC and Trigger's PC but I could not find them.

Just one last thing... Because I'm having a hard time trying to reproduce the bug. Are you checking to make sure the item isn't stacking with a pre-existing stack?

Just make sure not to use it with event Pokemon with special moves.

Do any of those exist in gen 3 anyway? All/most of my event Pokemon are cloned anyway so I don't really have to worry. They just sit in my PC, they're pretty much just a personal trophy collection.

Hey o/ !

I'm sorry i didn't have the time to post bug / try everything, i'm working on my Shiny Hack-Rom stuff.

I've one little bug and one suggestion about searching :

First the bug, when i want to find Pokemon with All the IV greater than X it simply doesn't work. I've a Pidgeotto with all IV > 28, and when I do "Greater than 27" in "All" 0 result. Same with a X = 0 so it's really not working :c

And the suggestion, really important for me. The way to filter Shiny. I've a LOT of Shiny (100 in 1/8192 in Fire Red, I do not count RNG etc i've more than 500/600 of this i'm addicted) and i'd like to search without normal pokemon and ONLY making some order in my Shiny stuff. If it'd possible to add that, the search function would be perfect / important to me

Thanks o/

Hi everyone! Another huge fan of this project here.

I haven't had time to comment here as I've been both super busy lately and I don't own a PC (have a macbook with windows on it though that I sometime use), so I can't really try out the versions and look for bugs etc. BUT I wanted to say that this project is such a great idea, and it's so cool to see all the updates and super-fast reactions to bugs etc.

The search feature is amazing. I have always wanted to check Pokémon's IVs more quickly, as it is such a pain to check for IVs in Gen 3. This will be even better once Pokémon Box is supported. :)

The only thing I am a bit worried about at the moment is the event distribution. I think it goes against this idea of keeping everything as legit as possible. Legit Gen 3 events are super rare nowadays, and being able to just add them to your game via Trigger's PC isn't much different from simply cheating them onto your game any other way, is it? Or did I miss/misunderstand something? I can understand that people might want to have the events on their games but with everything else being legit(ish) in Trigger's PC, why have the events just like any other cheating tool? I like that you will include the requirements for Pokémon Box events for the Box Pokémon.

Now, I know that you and others want this, so I was thinking that maybe you could at least add a ribbon to them so that they can be recognised as non-legit event Pokémon, also if traded onwards to Gen IV etc.? That way, people who want the event Pokémon can still have it (and ribbons aren't shown in the status screen in Gen 3 anyways) but if they ever try to present it as legit, in Gen 3 or any other generation, the ribbon is there to remind people that it's not. Not sure which ribbon would work here, probably one of the ones that went unused by Nintendo.

I have some ideas of what else could be added, but to be honest, the tool is amazing already and can do so much more than any of us here would have ever expected (as you can tell by the reactions here, I guess ^^), so before I post anything like that, I'll try to get to use the tool myself first and see whether or not my ideas make sense in the first place.

Good luck with everything, you've brought a lot of new joy to old Gen 3 players! :D

Well I updated to the latest version (1.3) and the bug seems to fixed. When I use the deposit/deposit all, it is working properly now.

It depends which events you're talking about Anything common that everyday people can get.

English and Japanese Colosseum Celebi and Pikachu, Wishmaker Jirachi, Channel Jirachi, Pokemon Box eggs, etc, etc. I've already uploaded or found online in saves and shared them for everybody to get. The only really rare event Pokemon I have in gen 3 are some Japanese events I was asked not to share by the person who helped me get them and a Teeter Dance Pichu that I don't even know if it's real. I've also shared a bunch of PCNY Pokemon.

I've shared a save file with the Regi dolls scanned in and a Pokemon Ruby save with the entire PC filled with shiny berry-fix Zigzagoon. So if you're worried about legitimacy, most things Triggers PC might offer, I could help you get otherwise. Attaching un-obtainable ribbons to Pokemon just makes them ill-legit. I'd hate for my False Swipe Altaria to be stuck in gen 3, they're so amazing for catching wild Pokemon when you teach them sing.

Thanks for your reply, that helped clear things up a bit for me!

I don't see it as relevant for Trigger's PC whether you or other people have shared their save files with these or other rare Pokémon on them. The only reason I am bringing this up in the first place is because Trigger's PC (the way I see it, maybe I'm wrong) is trying to stay as legit as possible and work more or less like a technical update to some very cumbersome Gen 3 mechanics. People have been sharing their save files (which always means cloning everything on it because people will download it and use it without caring about whether others are using the same file/Pokémon/items/…), using cheating devices etc. since forever, and that's okay, I just see Trigger's PC as something different.

I worry less about the game-events Pokémon you listed. I do think that the effort involved in getting the games (such as Channel for Jirachi) is part of the requirements that you need to fulfil to say you've obtained the Pokémon legitimately, but I think sharing these via tools is not as bad as sharing distribution events such as the Old Sea Map for Mew or the Aurora Ticket for Deoxys. It is mostly these super-rare Pokémon that I'm worried about. (Although even the game events require a lot of effort sometimes and it just doesn't feel right to just click and create them on the spot – at least I feel it doesn't quite fit the idea behind Trigger's PC's as it has been implemented so far.)

Attaching un-obtainable ribbons to Pokemon just makes them ill-legit. I'd hate for my False Swipe Altaria to be stuck in gen 3, they're so amazing for catching wild Pokemon when you teach them sing.

Well yes, that's the idea. They're not legit to begin with if you get them by simply clicking a button in a tool on your PC. And a ribbon wouldn't prevent them from being sent to later gens, just add a bit that would still make them different from those Pokémon that people spend a lot of time on trying to get without any tools. Trigger's PC is already doing similar things such as when it consumes the ball when you change a Pokémon's ball. It's allowing you to do something you usually cannot do but at least it makes you pay for it a bit. Also, from what I've seen you post, I assume you have lots of 100 % legit False Swipe Altaria directly from Pokémon Box anyways, given that it's the first Pokémon you receive in Box and that you seem to have a massive collection of Gen 3 stuff. :)

most things Triggers PC might offer, I could help you get otherwise

Thanks for the lovely offer! I do have a lot of Gen 3 stuff myself and I am not interested in clones (but let's not derail this thread here – I'm happy to message with you privately if you wanna talk about rare Gen 3 stuff etc. :) ). I comment on this because this is the approach I'd like to see more in the Pokémon (Gen 3) community. I've also offered to share rare things in relevant places (e.g. Liechi berries for those who are working on perfect Pokémon conditions), via save-file exchange or even snail mail, and have done what I can to help other people playing Gen 3. For example, one person shared their Pokérus with me, and I paid them back with a Channel Jirachi. It's things like that that make it even more rewarding to not cheat, and that boost the fun I get from being part of this community. And that's what I think is ruined by creating rare event Pokémon by clicking a button. People who want to do that can do that already anyways with other means, they don't need Trigger's PC for that.

Let me repeat: I don't want to argue against cheating/cloning/… in and of itself here. The only reason I bring this up is because so far, I felt that Trigger's PC was going into a different direction.

My idea of event distribution is pretty basic. 1) Include all ticket Pokemon. and 2) Include all unobtainable Pokemon without events. I do understand how this can seem illegitimate. But celebi and Jirachi can never be caught by the user so their Owner Name should give it away. The reason I included primarily Celebi is because poeple like me that play legitly but still want to enjoy every pokemon can have them. I don't intend on going any farther than these event Pokemon. However I will force them to have a OTName not that of Your PC's trainer name that way they're easy to tell appart from real event Pokemon. I'll also make the Jirachi match the Bonus disc for people who don't want to have to go through the trouble of getting that working.

As for the achievement Pokemon they most likely will never be shiny unless it randomly happens like any other Pokemon. And they will never have anything that makes them stand out from regular Pokemon.

Also, Pokemon Box is fully supported already. HaxAras was a major contributor to help getting it working. :D

That is a perfect solution and gets rid of all my worries. Thanks for clearing this up for me! :)

Edit: Almost all my worries, as Mew and Deoxys will be available then and appear completely legit – or not?

Oh, I wasn't aware of that. That's amazing! :) Big thanks to both of you!

Glad I could clear that up. And Mew and Deoxys will seem 100% legit because they were caught by the player. IMO ticket events are a dime a dozen now-a-days because most people use them to obtain the unobtainable Pokemon. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about making those seem any less legit.

Edit: Update is up. Jirachi is now just a standard Colosseum Bonus Disc Jirachi and Celebi does not match any known Nintendo event and has a trainer name of TIMEFLT.

Found a bug. My Japanese emerald save says "Completed" for the Eon and Mystic Tickets but not the Old Sea Map. All of them were loaded onto the save using Takasan's Legit Events tool and I have yet to beat the Elite Four (I really should get on that, considering the Mew from that playthrough will be used in my Gen 3 Living Pokedex).

May I have the save to take a look at? Is the problem that they should all say completed or none of them should? The way it detects if they're completed is if you own both the proper ticket/map and you have the game flag to actually use the ticket/map activated.

They should all say "completed" except for Aurora Ticket and Jirachi. I'll PM you the save since I want to keep the Pokemon uncloned.

Downloaded, thanks I'll take a look at it. I really appreciate that everyone has been willing to share their saves with me to work on the program. :)

Edit: Found the problem. I was referencing the same flag for the Aurora Ticket. This is fixed now. It's funny, it's kind of perfect that you hadn't used the Aurora Ticket yet.

Edit 2: It's fixed in the latest released version now.
