codemonkey85 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I'm pre-ordering HeartGold via Play-Asia, and I'll buy SoulSilver when it comes out in the US. So I'm getting both. I'm really only importing for two reasons: 1. I'll need them to get a head start on my save research. 2. I'm not sure yet that the PokéWalker peripheral will be released outside of Japan. I want one, so no point in taking that chance!
Doc Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 if its only japan that gets the pokewalker then im not buying any of them!
Mewtwo Ex Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 if its only japan that gets the pokewalker then im not buying any of them! You are not getting the game because a pedometer is missing?! In any case it is sure to be there.(In the USA version) There are events that Pokemon of America has to distribute to the players....
Doc Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 it could have been a pedometer or anything, if its missing a large part of the game then i wouldnt buy it because id feel cheated, anyway its kinda obvious that it will be given out in all languages, its the new thing, the hook, the "oooh look at that thing" thing, why would they only give it to the japanese.
codemonkey85 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Well, it makes sense that they would release the PokéWalker outside Japan, but I'm just too enamored with the device to take a risk. Besides, this way I get both Gold and Silver.
Ryo Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 For my "import" =P I will be obtaining HeartGold, but once the games come stateside I will be buying SoulSilver. Same for me. I'll be importing HeartGold, and getting SoulSilver once it gets it's NA release.
Akaria Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I originally said Heart Gold (much like when Gold came out.), but for the first time since the second gen I'm going to get both versions (not counting the third iteration of each one). Going to order Soul Silver online and run through that game (mainly so I can get Japanese events, and the like) then get Heart Gold when it arrives in the UK. Though I'm residing in Australia now, I'd be very picky about the giant ratings that are plastered on Aussie boxes, so I'm willing to wait for the UK one to be shipped. Edit: That's a lie, I bought both FireRed and LeafGreen, don't judge me.
JirachiBringsLove Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I'll try to import the Japanese Soul Silver
KyoMcFizzle Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I'm getting both and starting off with Soul Silver. I'll probably use Soul Silver as my competetive gaming file and then use Heart Gold as my event and rare pokemon housing game. If not, I'll use both as equally as humanly possible and then use Platinum as a means to hold all my events. But ya. I'll be getting both. ---------- Post added at 11:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:19 AM ---------- I originally said Heart Gold (much like when Gold came out.), but for the first time since the second gen I'm going to get both versions (not counting the third iteration of each one).Going to order Soul Silver online and run through that game (mainly so I can get Japanese events, and the like) then get Heart Gold when it arrives in the UK. Doppelganger Dawn Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Im totally getting Soul Silver~ Had original Gold when it came out, also Silver eventually... but this time I wanna get Silver first. I'll probably end up having both~ o:
Masterdom720 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Im Getting Both even though i dont know any Japanese, but ill pick it up as i go along the Johto Region and Kanto
SkyFormeSheimi Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Call me a loser but I'm importing Soul Silver from Japan to get a head-start getting used to the gameplay and what-not (even though I know like, no Japanese what-so-ever) and then I will be re-buying Soul Silver when it is released in the US, along with Heart Gold. So, total, I will have: -Two copies of Soul Silver -One copy of Heart Gold I'm doing this so I can receive Japanese events as well as the fact that I don't want to wait. I'm also going to re-buy it because I want the Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Arceus figures. So total, I'll be spending about $120 on these new games. Am I crazy? Maybe. Do I care what you think? Not so much. :bidoof:
codemonkey85 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 You are crazy, but it might be interesting to have three PokéWalkers. (Personally, I'm hoping that the PokéWalkers of different languages can communicate with games of different languages, as well as each other.)
skenasis Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I'll get Soul Silver the day they're released here, and then get Heart Gold at some future date. Can't afford to get both at once, otherwise I would.
lugialucario Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I commanded the SoulSilver version in Japanese and when the remakes will be in Europe, I'll buy the both versions, because to have the Lugia's figurine and to finish the Pokedex
jamesdiamond Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 even though lugia is much more useful than ho-oh i will be starting with HG
psyce Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Heart Gold sounds kinda girly (Reminds me of Sailor Moon. Nuff said.) 'Soul Silver' sounds better and reminds me of Sesshoumaru...So, I'll be getting Soul Silver. *nods* Then I'll use cheats and obtain all the HG specific pokemon. Mu-ha-ha-ha! (In my opinion, we don't need versions of the games. It's just a trick used by Nintendo to double sales.)
ZMaster Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 If I don't end up finishing both the Japanese versions, then I'll be getting an English copy, tyvm.
xReic Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I'm getting both of them in Japanese and English. Money is no object when I comes to Pokemon.
Myume Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I got HeartGold cause most people got SoulSilver. Just how I roll. But will be getting SoulSilver as well since I'm one of those crazy collectors.. I'll probably play it too though xP
Scwib Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Im definitely getting both. But if I'm lacking funds at the time of their release, ill get silver.
PinkKitty Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 This is an easy decision for me. =n.n= Gold was the last version of Pokemon I played before getting Platinum fairly recently, so out of a matter of principle, I shall be getting Heart Gold... for nostalgia's sake!
Nyuu ~ Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Bought both to trade pokemans. And heartGold has Kyogre, SoulSilver Lugia. Then. . . Tehehe ^__^
bear831 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 My SoulSilver is in the mail from Japan, I can't wait for it to arrive. I have been playing Crystal nonstop.
