How to actually read value changes between 2 Save files?
ATEMVEGETA replied to ATEMVEGETA's topic in PKHeX
I had lost some Max Lair progress of my save file and wanted to replicate the progress manually via PKHeX. I have the exact Pokemon that I claimed in those Max Lairs as .pk8 files. 1. So I added them manually those .pk8 in the Boxes (I noticed this also registers them into the Pokedex) 2. The Dynite Ores were already at 999 before those Dynamax Adventures so no changes there. 3. I "discarded" all the Pokeballs used for those caught Pokemon. 4. I updated the Played Time that passed. 5. Updated manually the Pokedex's "Battled" value for all the encountered Pokemon that didn't get caught. 6. Changed the "*Bool KCaptured" of the caught Legendary Pokemon so they wont appear again in Max Lairs. 7. I consider any other encountered Pokemon in the Max Lairs as "not attempted to be caught". So, no Ball use for them. Just their Pokedex "seen" counter +1. I think these cover everything unless I'm missing some hidden values not visible in-game. Anything else Max Lair relative I should change? -
[PLZA] Find the flag that disables the camera mode
Kaphotics replied to Alegria's topic in Saves - Research
Please check the status of the event flag I listed at the end of my message. I am still skeptical that you didn't accidentally change the flag's state when trying to activate Mewtwo. -

I only changed things for the Mewtwo event so I think there's a glitch involved. Plus lots of things haappened in the meantime on my game, I don't really want to go back. -
Started playing this mod last week and I've been having a blast with it so far! I have been deeply humbled by this game tearing me a new one and it's such a refreshing and hilarious experience for me personally. I made an account (just now...) mainly to ask a question here for confirmation. I've been having occasional crashes when transitioning between dungeon floors. It doesn't happen too often, but tonight it's been happening very frequently while trying to complete Mt. Horn during the expedition chapter so I wanted to get a little insight on if this is a romhack issue or an emulator issue I'm playing on BizHawk v2.9.1 for reference. If there's a recommended emulator in the initial notes for best performance, I will admit!! ...I skimmed most of the notes...... I'm sorry!

[PLZA] Find the flag that disables the camera mode
Kaphotics replied to Alegria's topic in Saves - Research
Then restore a backup from before you cheated, and don't modify the event flags. PKHeX mentions this at the bottom of the event flag editor: You probably turned off `FLAG_PHOTOMODE_ENABLE` (032AD99537C6091F). You really shouldn't have contacted Nintendo/Pokémon support for help after cheating. -
[PLZA] Find the flag that disables the camera mode

I did, but I was able to take pictures after getting Mewtwo and Diancie, it happened afterwards. I literally have a save file from after I caught both that still has the camera mode, and I didn't play with file editor afterwards. -

Did you cheat to unlock Mewtwo, or use any cheats/save edits on the file previously? -
How to actually read value changes between 2 Save files?
Kaphotics replied to ATEMVEGETA's topic in PKHeX
Welcome to research. Save files are just bytes of data, nothing is labeled unless a human figures out what a block is for and adds it to the accessor label list. There is no plugin, it is a black box where the onus is on you to figure out new labels. You repeat actions in games to see what changed, then you go look at individual blocks to see if it was storing a value somewhere. Use the Dump tab to inspect individual blocks in the currently loaded save file. -

Have you ever wondered where that shiny fletchling or pidgey that is shown on the misc tab for Pokémon ZA is located? Then this plugin is for you! In Pokémon ZA the game stores shinies that spawn in the overworld into their own block. This plugin reads that block and shows you the approximate location of these spawns. How to use Put the plugin into the plugins folder in your PKHeX directory, then access it from the Tools menu. Note: Win 10 might block DLL files downloaded from the internet. In that case right click the plugin file, go to properties and check "unblock" (as seen here). [You may have to unblock, reblock, then unblock again to get it to work] Example of how to unblock: Usages Can be used with either a ZA save file loaded into PKHeX or via a live read using sys-botbase. Connecting is optional. Click on the sprites in the plugin to have their locations shown on the map. Support for support or bug issues please utilize github -
You go to the listed dungeons, and at the end they'll give you enough items to trade for the globes.

How to actually read value changes between 2 Save files?
ATEMVEGETA replied to ATEMVEGETA's topic in PKHeX
I did one more test. I did the exact same Dynamax Adventure but didn't catch any Pokemon this time and here's the result: I reallly have no idea what's going on! Random Booleans switch values and other unamed random values increase/decrease or whatever. Can someone explain please? Is there any plugin maybethat can read/edit all those things properly? -
I was trying to alter the "Pokemon Caught" value in my League Card of Pokemon Shield (64 -> 62), but I couldn't find where that value is stored. I tried to find it in the "Block Data" section but nowhere I could see a "64" value. So, I decided to catch a Pokemon and see which value will change. I had saved in front of the Max Lair lady, so I entered a Dynamax Adventure, caught 1 Pokemon, (reached to the Legendary then lost to it), the game saved right after I exit and below (pic) is the comparition between the 2 files. I thought I would see clearly a value increasing by +1 but I see very random byte changes, etc. What are all these values anyway? Ok, I can understand the last 3 plus the "Items" value increase (probably the -1 Pokeball and the amount of Dynite Ores gained) and the "Played" value (probably the extra played time). But what are all the other unamed values? How can I read them properly?

So I have a problem that of course the Pokémon support will not help me with (they say contact nintendo and nintendo says contact pokémon) I'm currently in the DLC and I noticed I can't trigger the camera mode with the minus button, or with the ZA royale profile (the option to change the picture doesn't even appear in the screen). Camera mode with the Y button is possible when sitting at a bench or a cafe table. It is not a mod, update or hardware issue. The minus button isn't faulty, I can still change my clothes from the menu, and the memory isn't faulty as the bench/cafe pictures and the screenshots from the switch's screenshot button work perfectly. Also, I have a couple archive save files that have it still working, and any new game save file also can. My theory is that at some point I've been in an event or a place where the game disables the camera mode, and the game forgot to turn it back on when I left. I noticed it first when I went to my first mission with my rival and Korrina in hyperspace, but thought that dimension was just not allowing pictures. I know I have been able to take pictures the day before when I caught Mewtwo so whatever happened was in the post game. My hope is that finding the flag would allow me to fix it manually using pkhex. I can't remember when the game could have disabled the camera mode though. I remember noticing it in Scarlet/Violet because I really wanted to take a picture in the room where you fight the Professor and it's disabled (in the place where you find Terapagos as well), but I guess it doesn't help as it's probably a whole different flag.

For a joke hack, it's alright. It's inoffensive, though I think the bit could have been sold much better. The main premise can best be summarized as a Jupiter/Mars yuri fanfic that isn't trying to be too much else. Most NPC dialogue was just pronoun swaps, and often times the dialogue didn't really match the actual trainer class, the most stand out example being a trainer on 222 that was switched from a Sailor but still referred to herself as such. A few trainers still used male Pokemon, especially in rematches, and there were a few he/him pronouns that got missed in the script for optional NPCs. The blockades on different routes could have used a bit more grace, and some better documentation on where items got moved would be extremely helpful. Aside from that, I thought the premise was funny, and it's a great hack if you're trying to shiny hunt female starters for whatever reason. The main issue I had was with how the difficulty was handled. The first route coming out swinging with level 15's was not something I expected, and while I personally enjoyed the unfairness of the challenge, it's extremely sloppy in execution and quickly devolves into a grindfest unless you want to take advantage of the always on 999 Rare Candies code baked into the hack. I can understand if it was put there for brevity, but what confuses me is how every single other aspect just makes the hack seem like it was trying to be unfair. Your Pokemon options are limited, the grinding NPC in Solaceon was removed, you can't access the Lucky Egg to my knowledge, and EV gain is entirely disabled barring vitamins for some reason, making actual grinding completely meaningless. It's not very fun, especially when a hard level cap is enforced and every single enemy hits much, much harder than you do. The built-in cheats against the level curve just seem like a half measure between trying to be completely unfair on purpose and trying to make it so the hack is over quickly, and the result is just kind of a confused mess. The hack compensates you well enough for the resources in other parts of the region, including granting you a Hoenn starter in Sandgem instead of Oreburgh. If I had to recommend any changes, it would be better to just move the NPC from Oreburgh's center to Sandgem's instead of having Dawn give it to you. The item dump and cutscene leading up to it makes it kind of a pain for anyone looking to shiny hunt it. To close out, I'm just gonna echo one of the comments and say that this really didn't need to be built off the difficulty of RenPlat. It doesn't really serve any purpose besides making the hack just a bit too cumbersome for the premise and execution. Though, it can be a pretty fun time for those who enjoy the unfairness, and it's cute for what it is.

Hello, I just found out about this fantastic mod, I'm about to try it and I can't wait! I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if there is an Italian translation available, even a fan-made one, just to make the game easier to understand. Thank you very much.

I've received several questions regarding what features will / won't be added to this app, particularly in relation to what PKHeX is able to do. I've created a detailed roadmap (with some help from AI) of all the work that needs to be done to match PKHeX feature-for-feature. Check it out here: https://github.com/codemonkey85/PKMDS-Blazor/blob/main/PKHEX_PARITY_ROADMAP.md

Don’t place the 00000001.sav into JKSM. That file an encrypted and wouldn’t work for JKSM. Also if it’s encrypted it won’t load in PKHeX etc. JKSM import/exports decrypted saves. consider trying this: (Read and follow every step) for the step that requires you to “place the 00000001.sav” into the folder: which language or Pokemon blue are you playing? The ID will be different.

Is it possible to see the Seed that a Pokemon came from with PKHeX?
Kaphotics replied to ATEMVEGETA's topic in PKHeX
Hover over the Pokemon in your box/party to see the information that PKHeX infers. Not sure which encounter you are referring to, if one isn't displayed. If not displayed, there either isn't a detectable seed/correlation or it isn't computationally feasible to find (milliseconds vs minutes). -
Unlock all funfiesta missions
theSLAYER replied to jojo12100's topic in RAM - NDS Research & Development
Since I came around back to this, I probably should give an update: Background: I forgot which leak (Freak?), but Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 files were leaked. My understanding is that the files were similar to GitHub; a bunch of raw disassemblies, along the entire developmental timeline. To obtain a ROM from those file, one got to check out the files at the wanted phase within the development process, and to compile and build them into a ROM. Among them, a "fes rom" was found; it was a way to distribute funfest missions via Local Wireless. The original rebuilt game only appeared to work with other B2W2 debug ROMs. Unclear if this was an issue due to the revision or due to the way it was built, as another copy named "SWAN r59981 2012.06.11 [fes rom]" could communicate with retail carts just fine. fes rom is a branch from partway of the development timeline. Observations (from what I could gather online): -- I think that's about it for now. I've not seen anyone try to share/load Funfest missions via a RAM hack or with a custom ROM (using Binaries not obtained from the leak), and I don't expect much development from looking into this. The only other things I've seen are: (1) the existance of an English patch (technically useless to us so not sharing), and (2) unrelated to fes rom, it appears some missions were possibly meant to also be distributed as wonder cards. Independant finding from theSLAYER and Eclipse (Files from Eclipse: Berry Festival! (Funfest Mission).pgfGifts from Pokemon Center Women! (Funfest Mission).pgfEndless Battles! (Funfest Mission).pgfPokemon Quiz Championship! (Funfest Mission).pgf). Reminder to not ask for any ROMs, not allowed here. -

Again, PokeFinder assumes you are using Sweet Scent to trigger, and does not check if you can trigger it manually via steps/turns.
