  1. So just a disclaimer. I'm kinda new to this, so team dynamics and synergy will probably be broken in a few places. Any suggestions as to how to increase it would be very welcome. Any suggestions on descriptions or how to present this topic better would be great as well. Without further ado, here is my team. --------------------------------------------- First off, my favorite pokemon that has ever existed has got to be Gyarados. With DP, it became a lot better after the Physical/Special changes. It's usage is near 20%, and I believe it deserves it. It's a beast of a pokemon, and a staple of all my teams. As such, it was an easy choice for my first member. So what counters Gyarados? Tangrowth, Metagross, Forretress, Suicune, Skarmory, and Rotom. Out of those, I don't usually see a Metagross who has Thunderpunch. Tangrowth I have seen once or twice, but I believe it isn't around enough to warrant as much a threat as Forrestres and Suicune. I've heard Skarmory is a great pokemon and commonly used, but believe it or not -- I've never encountered one, so I'm dropping it as well. So what counters Suicune and Forretress? I've had a lot of success running a Tyranitar on a Suicune. Tyranitar is also a beast of a pokemon, another one that sees high play rates. He's a great pokemon. I mean, if you eat mountains, you have to be pretty beastly. So, he happens to be countered by a lot of things, like Scizor - the most used pokemon in OU if I heard correctly. Guess what? Gyarados can counter that, so we're covered there as long as I don't throw him away too early. Swampert can effectively deal with Tyranitar, but I'm not too worried about that possibility. Usually by the time Tyranitar comes out, Swampert will have been crippled. So I don't have to stress out finding a good pokemon to cover weaknesses (I'm guessing I'm horribly wrong on this point. Please enlighten me?) So now, we have to find a third pokemon. Obvious choice being Scizor, because he's simply that good. So what counters Scizor? Heatran and Rotom-H are the most used. Tyranitar covers Rotom-H, so Heatran is my main worry. Gyarados can serve as a counter occasionally, but I don't want to stretch it that thin. So, Vaporean, Suicune, Empoleon, or Swampert will be the next pokemon. Each is pretty similar in terms of weaknesses, so I don't have much to go on there. Suicune is more of an inbetween pokemon I belive in terms of offensive and defensive, and I really dislike any legendary pokemon used in OU, so I'm going to nix it. That leaves me with Empoleon, Vaporeon and Swampert. Vaporeon can serve as a team healer, Empoleon as a wall, while Swampert could be my leader. It's a tough choice. In the end, I decided Swampert as I need a lead. So the most used counter to Swampert I see used regularly is Latias. I don't need to worry much about that because of my Tyranitar. I'm not gonna worry too much about covering in that regard -- rather at this point, I need to address how I have four physical pokemon and no serious contenders as a special. So, what is one of the best special pokemon? Gengar. Gengar is unfortunately very frail and pretty easy to counter. Scizor, Tyranitar, and Blissey each make great counters. Again, Scizor can be countered by Gyarados. So Tyranitar and Blissey are the big problems. Tyranitar is countered by Scizor, so now we have to deal with Blissey. If I'm careful, Scizor can counter her, so yet again I'm not too worried about weakness covering. However, as mentioned Gengar is very frail, and will have to be played carefully and well in order to be effective. So that's five out of six pokemon chosen. I still only have one special -- so adding another special pokemon would be great. Lucario and Togekiss each have great special attack. Togekiss works great with flinching, while Lucario is just a beast in general, and his counters are covered by my other pokemon. I like Lucario as a pokemon more than Togekiss, so it killed me when I tested this set. Togekiss easily outpaced Lucario as a more reliable pokemon, so it will fill in my final set. So that will be my final set. Time for stats and specifics! ----------------------------------------- Swampert @ Leftovers Ability: Torrent EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd) - Earthquake - Roar - Stealth Rock - Ice Beam Standard Swampert lead set. I chose Roar over Surf/Protect because I might be able to get a good look at the opposing team after setting up a Stealth Rock, and then will be able to plan accordingly how I move. The rest is pretty standard. I haven't tested this guy out as fully as I'd like, because of four guys competing for this slot. So while I don't have as great a feel as I'd like, he's still served pretty well. Gyarados @ Life Orb Ability: Intimidate EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Waterfall - Ice Fang - Stone Edge Another standard set, this is a beast of a Gyarados. Very rarely does this guy ever disappoint me. I mentioned above I loved Gyarados since RBY, and he just keeps getting better. I'll send him out in order to counter, or deal with an annoying pokemon. He'll probably come out after Tyranitar and try to finish up after the rest of my team has done their job. However, he's really flexible -- I've sent him out early too, and he's performed just as well. Scizor @ Life Orb Ability: Technician EVs: 246 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Bullet Punch - U-turn - Superpower - Swords Dance This guy sees over 30% usage for a reason. He's that good. Another pokemon who never, ever disappoints. I've done massive damage each time I use him, even though opponents at this point have to know he's coming. Life Orb over Choice Band because I like to have the ability to change quickly, and use U-Turn to it's fullest. This also lets me use Swords Dance if I get the chance, which is pretty much overkill. I may want to switch U-Turn to Roost, but at this point the set has been working really well, so I don't think I will just yet. Tyranitar @ Choice Band Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Crunch - Aqua Tail - Outrage - Earthquake Standard Choice Band set, but with Outrage instead of Pursuit. I never got Pursuit working as well as I'd have liked, so I switched in Outrage, and it's been working pretty well. It throws something new in there, and it's working fine right now. I may swap it in the future, but for now... it stays. Helps me counter Latias too, although I've never actually tested that theory. It mows down teams not expecting it though, and has brought me back from a two pokemon deficit once. Togekiss @ Leftovers Ability: Serene Grace EVs: 252 HP / 6 Def / 252 SpD Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Aura Sphere - Air Slash - Roost - Nasty Plot I choose Aura Sphere over Thunder Wave because the attack never worked for me -- I'd always end up dead before I could take advantage of it. In a sense, this has become a hybrid of the Flinch and Sweeper set. It's worked great for me, and usually can do some serious damage before falling. Roost helps it just keep going, and I can switch in to some non-threats and use a Nasty Plot, which just results in pain. I wanted Lucario, but... this guy just works better for me. Not as frail, which is good considering my next guy. Gengar @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Shadow Ball - Substitute - Focus Blast - Hypnosis Standard Substitute set. I switch in, use Substitute or Hypnosis then substitute, and then just Focus Blast and Shadow Ball my way into oblivion. Very frail, but does his job well. It's had mixed results in my tests, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with him just yet. -------------------------------------------- So that's it. Any feedback is welcome -- again, I'm kinda newb to all this, so detailed analysis descriptions (especially focusing on why) would be much welcomed. Thanks guys! Yes, this was named after Microsoft Azure. I'm a fanboy . Also, for those who care, here is a picture of weaknesses from Marriland: http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj127/desche_weyard/azure.png
  2. I hope I put this in the right section NOW. If not, can someone point me to the right section. Except for Roserade, I've had this team since Hoenn. Here they are...again. Blaziken (male) Nature: Jolly Ability: Blaze Item: Scope Lens EVs: 255 ATK / 255 SPEED Moves: Blaze Kick Shadow Claw Thunderpunch Sky Uppercut Basically, my lead pokemon. And don't tell me to replace him with Infernape. Though Infernape may be better, Blaziken has been with me since Hoenn, and I could never replace him. He holds the scope lens to make the critical hit ratios of Blaze Kick and Shadow Claw 40%. Shiny Gardevoir (female) Nature: Timid Ability: Synchronize Item: Lum Berry EVs: 188 SP.ATK / 67 DEF / 255 SPEED Moves: Psychic Calm Mind Focus Blast Thunderbolt The first pokemon I caught on my journey in hoenn, my Gardevoir uses calm mind to power up, then unleash devestating special attacks. And before anyone says anything, you'd be suprised, cause my Gardevoir's Focus Blast hits quite often. Salamence (male) Nature: Jolly Ability: Intimidate Item: Yache Berry EVs: 255 ATK / 255 SPEED Moves: Outrage Fly Fire Blast (may replace with Fire Fang) Dragon Dance The main sweeper of my team. I know Garchomp may be better, but I will always prefer Salamence. With his Yache Berry, he can survive an ice type attack (which are all too common) so he can use his dragon dance/outrage combo. Fly is mainly to get around in-game, but it can be useful in battle as well. Roserade (female) Nature: Timid Ability: Natural Cure Item: Black Sludge EVs: 188 SP. ATK / 67 DEF / 255 SPEED Moves: Energy Ball Shadow Ball Sludge Bomb Sleep Powder Roserade is the member of my team that specializes in putting the opponent to sleep, then attacking with impressive special attack. I wass going to teach her hidden power, but it turned out to be dark, which covers the same types as shadow ball. So I just decided to keep shadow ball. Milotic (female) Nature: Modest Ability: Marvel Scale Item: Salac Berry EVs: 255 SP.ATK / 255 SPEED Moves: Ice Beam Recover Hydro Pump Mirror Coat Milotic is my team's water pokemon. With Mirror Coat, she can send back any spcial attacks she is hit with at double the damage, useful because she can usually survive most special hits. Plus, since her HP gets low in the process, the Salac Berry makes her faster, so that she can either finish the next opponent off quickly, or recover before they can KO her. I didn't teach her surf because in double battle, surf hurts your ally as well, and I do't want to take a chance with that. Metagross (genderless) Nature: Adamant Ability: Clear Body Item: Life Orb Moves: Meteor Mash Agility Ice Punch Earthquake EVs: 204 ATK / 152 SP.DEF/ 154 SPEED Metagross is good to switch into another pokemon, especially if it is going to use a move that steel resists. Agility makes Metagross fast, and I mean FAST (his speed is 214!). The Life Orb he carries makes it so all of Metagross' attacks hit pretty hard, so once he is fast enough, he is difficult to take down. I found out their EVs, so I listed them. So, unless this one is closed too, any tips?
  3. I accidentally posted this in the wrong section. But I've got it right now. And before anyone says otherwise, this is my competitive team, not in-game (though it works there too.) Anyway, here they are: Blaziken (male) Nature: Jolly Ability: Blaze Item: Scope Lens Moves: Blaze Kick Shadow Claw Thunderpunch Sky Uppercut EVs: 252 ATK / 252 SPEED Stats: HP: 301 Atk: 339 Def: 176 Sp.Atk:230 Sp.Def: 176 Speed: 284 Gardevoir (female) Nature: Timid Ability: Synchronize Item: Lum Berry Moves: Psychic Calm Mind Focus Blast ThunderboltEVs: 188 SP.ATK / 64 DEF / 252 SPEED Stats: HP: 277 Atk: 149 Def: 182 Sp.Atk: 333 Sp.Def: 266 Speed: 284 Salamence (male) Nature: Jolly Ability: Intimidate Item: Yache Berry Moves: Outrage Fly Fire Blast (may replace with Fire Fang) Dragon Dance Stats: EVs: 252 ATK / 252 SPEED HP: 331 Atk: 369 Def: 196 Sp.Atk: 230 Sp.Def: 196 Speed: 328 Roserade (female) Nature: Timid Ability: Natural Cure Item: Black Sludge Moves: Energy Ball Shadow Ball Sludge Bomb Sleep Powder EVs: 190 SP. ATK / 66 DEF / 252 SPEED Stats: HP: 261 Atk: 158 Def: 162 Sp.Atk: 333 Sp.Def: 246 Speed: 306 Milotic (female) Nature: Modest Ability: Marvel Scale Item: Salac Berry Moves: Ice Beam Recover Hydro Pump Mirror Coat EVs: 252 SP.ATK / 252 SPEED Stats: HP: 331 Atk: 140 Def: 194 Sp.Atk: 328 Sp.Def: 286 Speed: 261 Metagross (genderless) Nature: Adamant Ability: Clear Body Item: Life Orb Moves: Meteor Mash Agility Ice Punch Earthquake EVs: 202 ATK / 152 SP.DEF/ 152 SPEED Stats: HP: 301 Atk: 392 Def: 296 Sp.Atk: 203 Sp.Def: 254 Speed: 214 Tell me what you think. I'm not sure how to calculate EVs, but what I have listed are my closest estimates. Oh, and one thing, I don't like to teach two of my team pokemon the same moves, or give them the same items. Its kind of my style.
  4. The goal of the team Sweep with lucario after revealing and clearing out counters using the other pokemon Uxie @ Choice Scarf Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 HP/106 Def/152 Spd Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Trick - Stealth Rock - Yawn - U-turn The lead for this team was a tough decision. Nothing on the team is weak to stealth rock, so stopping it wasn't a priority. Setting up my own stealth rock on the other hand is almost necessary as lucario misses several key OHKOs without it. Another thing I wanted to achieve with my lead is scouting, so uturn would also be great. Statusing an opposing pokemon would also be really handy. All that considered I went for a scarf uxie. Not a common set but very effective in this team. EV'd to outspeed Aero and scarfloom. Against both of these I just SR and take the sleep/wasted taunt Against a lead which is going to use SR i'll trick, forcing them to switch and I can SR on the switch. If they switch in something that is going to set up i'll yawn, and uturn next turn to scout, just like that I either know half their team or they have a sleeping pokemon Its EV'd for bulk and it has one hell of a lot of it, theres not much that can OHKO it (especially not moves run by the common leads) So, a lot of the time uxie survives these initial exchanges, but has limited use in the later stages of the game. Sometimes I use him to yawn some more and rack up switches, sometimes he just becomes death fodder and allows me a free switch. However, his main use later in the game is to play 'mess around with the items' Lucario (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Inner Focus EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Close Combat - Crunch - Extremespeed The main sweeper and general focus of the team. Chosen because of its power to OHKO things after SR even if they resist its attacks (e.g. skarmory) In order for the team to achieve its goal, Lucario's counters need to be removed. Usage should be fairly obvious, swords dance and then CC/Crunch things which are slower than you, ES things which are faster than you and proceed to win the game Common counters for this set are - Gliscor - Gyarados - Celebi - 'Mence - Magnezone - Heatran All 5 of these counters are also drawn out by Scizor, which has U-Turn access for scouting, so along comes... Scizor (M) @ Choice Band Ability: Technician EVs: 244 HP/252 Atk/14 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Bullet Punch - Superpower - U-turn - Pursuit Once again, another pokemon with fairly obvious and standard usage. The switch-ins against lucario and scizor do tend to be very similar so bringing in scizor and immediately using U-Turn tends to draw out a counter, most of which are either dealt with by the following 2 pokemon. Scizor can also act as a backup sweeper in the late game. with bullet punch mopping up for things that Lucario didn't manage to take out Starmie @ Choice Scarf Ability: Natural Cure EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Hydro Pump - Ice Beam - Thunderbolt - Trick Gliscor, Gyara and 'Mence are all weak to one side of boltbeam, my personal favourite way of boltbeaming is choice scarfed starmie. Who also has the added advantage of trick to cripple a wall and hydro pump for an exceedingly powerful STAB. Nothing enjoys a scarfed hydro pump, even with things that double resist it sometimes taking as much as 20%. While this isn't the best method of scouting it has proved effective, sometimes even scoring a 2HKO (easy to pull off because of the scarf) Heatran (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Substitute - Fire Blast - Earth Power - Explosion The second 'Luke counter killer' is this adorable little puppy. Celebi not only commonly carries HP Fire but is also weak to fire itself, heatran makes so much sense for this team especially as Will-O-Wisp is also used commonly against lucario/scizor and heatran's synergy with scizor is amazing I've opted for the substitute version of heatran, as its going to cause switches and can even act as a decent backup sweeper when behind a substitute Rotom-h @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 Spd Bold nature (+Def, -Atk) - Thunderbolt - Shadow Ball - Overheat - Hidden Power [Fighting] Having 3 steels makes magnezone a pretty big problem (even though scizor can U-Turn away) The double earthquake weakness from Heatran/Lucario is also something that needs to be dealt with. So for this slot I was looking for something that either resisted or was immune to ground attacks AND can take out magnezone This came in the form of Rotom-H, it is immune to earthquake, resists all of magnezone's common attacks and can OHKO the magnet with overheat. When Magnezone isn't on the other team Rotom is also useful for the handy resists, loads of bulk and coverage support
  5. Hello ^^ well I've recently joined the site... it looks perfectly!!! hope we can be poke friends lol
  6. Well I caught them with Action Replay and when I put them through the Legality Checker, it comes up as "Hacked or Unknown Pokemon" Since all of their IV's are 30, their PIDs must be the case. I put Pikachu as an example in the attachment. Anyone know why the PID is like that? Red's Pikachu HGSS.pkm
  7. My team is built around hitting hard and fast but I have a few weaknesses I need addressed. So here is my team. Old Team New Team I know my team has many holes but I have trouble seeing them myself. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.
  8. Well this is my first UU team ever, so it probably needs a lot of work. Help is appreciated. It's not a well thought out team, as I just slapped together pokemon I felt like using. But it's working out pretty well so far. Dugtrio (M) @ Focus Sash Ability: Arena Trap EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Night Slash - Stealth Rock - Reversal Info: Picked this lead because I figured Focus Sash in conjuction with Reversal would work really well. It works alright. If I can beat my oppenent's lead... I always do. --- Hitmontop (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Intimidate EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SDef Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Bullet Punch - Mach Punch - Fake Out - Rapid Spin Info: My ultimate weak pokemon pick offer. With rapid spin. --- Scyther (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Technician EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Bug Bite - Aerial Ace - Pursuit - Swords Dance Info: Bug Bite pretty much does the exact amount of damage as X-scissor when factoring Technician and stab. Although it can steal and eat the oppenents berries this is a pretty rare circumstance, but possible. Aerial Ace finishes up twin 120 base damage attacks. Sword dance if I ever can. --- Chansey (F) @ Leftovers Ability: Natural Cure EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Aromatherapy - Thunder Wave - Softboiled - Seismic Toss Info: Basically a mini blissey. --- Rhyperior (M) @ Liechi Berry Ability: Solid Rock EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SDef Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Rock Polish - Stone Edge - Substitute Info: Rhyperior and alakazam made it's transition to UU. That's one of the main reasons I decided to make this team. This dude has been very effective. One Rock Polish makes me pretty fast. If I fell my attacks aren't as powerful as they could be I keep subbing until I get the leichi berry attack boost. --- Alakazam (M) @ Choice Specs Ability: Inner Focus EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/4 SDef Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Psychic - Signal Beam - Hidden Power [Fighting] - Trick Info: Specs alakazam, stab Psychic's off a 552 special attack is jaw dropping. I choose hidden power fighting because I can't stand when focus blast misses, alakazam is too fragile to miss. Signal beam for psychic and dark pokemon. Trick specs is funny. ---
  9. Hey, I'd like to request these 6 pokemon, please. The first 3 are for a Wifi team while the Regis will help me complete the dex. I the code as well. The code is: Thanks!
  10. Team L The object of my team: ... nothing much. Just beat the opponents out of comedic glory via taking roles of Megaman Robot Masters. Other notes: - I will not change the Pokemon I have (unless there are other Pokemon that can fit VERY well with their Robot Master counterparts)... but I am more than happy to switch around the order or their movesets/IVs/roles. So suggestions pertaining to that are always welcome. - This is NOT an insane gimmick team. It is actually quite serious (albeit novelty at best)... and it does win battles (11 wins so far)... and lose some battles (2 losses so far). Some of the reasoning is because of the unexpectedness of certain Pokemon's roles or what it uses, but now that it is in plain sight... whatever =/ [sprite]127[/sprite] Cut Man the Pinsir @ Focus Sash/Lum Berry Adamant Nature Hyper Cutter 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Speed - Stealth Rock - X-Scissor - Earthquake - Quick Attack/Stone Edge This is the lead Pokemon. No one expects Pinsir to SR or anything... and usually forget it has it because his counterparts Heracross and Scyther/Scizor do not. In fact, not many people even know Pinsir exists! It is even less acknowledged than Heracross... who is non-existent because of a certain crimson flash and an aura Pokemon. So here is the deal. Cut Man sets up SR (I would think that is Guts Man's job though) or attacks the lead Pokemon. Focus Sash is good so that it survives super effective attacks like an Arcanine's Flare Blitz. Hyper Cutter is there so that stuff like Intimidate will not work. If the lead is something like a Focus Sash Azelf, I would X-Scissor it and *surprise surprise* Quick Attack. Nobody expects the Spanish Pinsir! Why I selected Pinsir: Well, Cut Man is a very simple robot. Much like Pinsir, he has a pair of blades that resemble scissors in his head. Pretty much the aesthetics got me to select Pinsir to represent Cut Man. And much like Cut Man, he is weak to Rocks and Fire. How interesting. Hyper Cutter seems appropriate enough for an ability. I could have selected Kingler for his coloring and the fact he has some giant pincirs, I thought Pinsir was more appropriate. Pinsir is your beaten off the path Pokemon which no one stares at because there's Scizor and even the obscure Heracross. Cut Man is pretty much the same... people do not take him seriously because... he's a robot playing with a bunch of... scissors? Most people do in fact try playing against him first. Also, Pinsir is slightly agile, but not too much, much like Cut Man. If anything though, I feel Scyther's stats resemble Cut Man's more than Pinsir's, but I chose Pinsir all for its aesthetics. I don't know about you but I felt Pinsir was very similar to Cut Man. Usefulness: |||||||||| Personal Score: |||||||||| He sets up rocks and usually takes down the opposing lead not named Swampert or Metagross or Heatran... but still, he gets up the rocks unless taunted. Sometimes he can retreat and come back to fight another day... but aside from that, he can be easily walled by the likes of Skarmory and the many steels of OU. [sprite]068[/sprite] Guts Man the Machamp @ Leftovers Adamant Nature No Guard 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Speed - Dynamicpunch - Stone Edge/Payback - Rest - Sleep Talk Ah, the scary Guts Man. With Dynamicpunch that never fails to land on non-ghosts and confuse stuff without Own Tempo is just amazing... and scary. Coupled with 130 base attack and STAB, it is bound to land some holes. Scary birds coming in? Stone Edge them to death... and *gasp* it actually hits! No Guard saves the day! The bottom line is... once Machamp comes in, it is SCARY and is bound to cause a couple of KOs. Why I chose Machamp: Guts Man is an iconic character of Megaman. I mean look at him. He's tough, durable, scary, causes earthquakes as he jumps, hurls large boulders at you... this guy is truly tough to fight against if you do not possess his weakness, the Hyper Bomb... and even then it is pretty hard to aim with it. Same thing could be said of Machamp. He is powerful, tough, and pretty much a scary sight. Nobody wants to fight confused... NO ONE (unless they know the RNG is at their side or if their name is Slowbro). Machamp is also one of the original 150s... and is fairly recognizable by people. And Guts Man is pretty much the same way too. He seems perfect... although a "Guts" Hariyama may have sufficed, I think Machamp is more fun to use. Resttalk also makes more durable than usual. Usefulness: |||||||||| Personal Score: |||||||||| He's fun, quite abusable, and very sturdy, but he is quite slow just like Guts Man himself... so he is easily revenge killed near the end. Also low PP is not a good sign. Nevertheless, quite solid and makes a name for himself. [sprite]471[/sprite] Ice Man the Glaceon @ Choice Scarf Timid Nature Snow Cloak 8 HP/252 SpA/248 Speed - Sleep Talk - Hidden Power Fighting - Shadow Ball - Ice Beam Ice Man... and his useless Ice Slasher. I wonder what Capcom was thinking when they made it do 0 damage against everything but Fire Man who only took 4 compared to the normal 10 damage (this was normal in MM1) that every boss's weakness did... when Megaman took 10 damage from Ice Slasher himself (Megaman's weakness perhaps?). Anyhow, it is quite a revenge killer. Nobody expects Glaceon to be THIS fast. With these Speed EVs (HP Fighting has 30 Speed IVs) Glaceon hits 373 speed, enough to outpace + 120s like Alakazam and KO them with Shadow Ball or hit Salamence with STAB Ice Beams off a base 130 SpA. One problem is that I have to use Timid nature... which makes Glaceon lose off a LOT of needed power =/ Nevertheless it is really only relegated to revenge killing or scaring off Salamences and whatnot. Why I chose Glaceon: Ice Man Ice Man... yeah yeah just get the Thunder Beam, zap him instantly, and he dies in 3 hits. Simple as that. Ice Man is often quite neglected... much like this fellow Glaceon here... but still, he is quite powerful against Megaman himself and can be a tough adversary. However it is that weapon of his that serves very little use other than to freeze the fire towers in Fire Man's and Wily's castle and to freeze Big Eyes in midair (but if you shoot at the wrong place...). Ice Slasher is also Fire Man's weakness, but trust me, it is a LOT easier fighting Fire Man with your regular Arm Cannon than with Ice Slasher if you know what to do. Glaceon, like Ice Man, is more trouble than what it is worth. It is powerful but with a base speed of 60 and pitiful HP, it is not going to take hits enough to blast back with its STAB Ice Beams anyhow. Sure that defense of 110 and Special Defense of 95 is actually decent... but the low HP really offsets it. Glaceon is like the Ice Slasher... beaten off the path and no one truly uses one in competitive battles unless they were a die hard fan like I am. Also, this is the first time I made Glaceon Male... most of the time I would pick female if I were ever to make a Glaceon. Ice Man looks pretty "cute" for a male robot master... which is bizarre... or he may just be the third Ice Climber but got rejected and was adopted by Capcom. Nevertheless, Ice Man is pretty cool (no pun intended), much like Glaceon here. I do not know what else would actually fit Ice Man better than Glaceon... unless you were talking about Articuno... but Articuno is even worse. Usefulness: |||||||||| Personal Score: |||||||||| Actually, Glaceon is quite useful. No one expects a really fast Glaceon firing off a really powerful STAB Ice Beam coming... and they usually just let that Salamence stay in thinking their Fire Blast will finish it off or their Alakazams with their Focus Blasts. Denied! [sprite]205[/sprite] Bomb Man the Forretress @ Shed Shell Relaxed Nature Sturdy 248 HP/112 Atk/148 Def (0 Speed IVs) - Toxic Spikes/Spikes - Gyro Ball - Rapid Spin - Explosion Forretress is very useful for tanking physical attacks and fighting the really fast Pokemon with STAB Gyro Ball. It also sets up Toxic Spikes and can spin away entry hazards. Once it has done its job, it can go boom...! It is surprisingly sturdy... even slightly more than Skarmory. Why I chose Forretress: Actually, this decision was tough. There really was not much I could choose aside from Golem... and even then, no one really throws bombs aside from Egg Bombing Exeggutor or something of that sort. Plus Forretress is weak to Fire, much like the original Bomb Man himself; he was weak to Fire Storm. However, unlike Bomb Man, Forretress is actually very powerful... Bomb Man was probably one of the easier bosses in Megaman 1. Aside from that, their differences are large... oh yeah. Forretress explodes. Er... yeah. But Bomb Man does not detonate himself >.< Usefulness: |||||||||| Personal Score: |||||||||| Forretress is always a useful addition to one's team... that is not heavily Fire weak. Setting up stuff and spinning away things is what it does best. And it can also take beastly amounts of hits. Of course, that Achilles's heel, Fire, can be destructive... and it has no reliable recovery move. Aside from that, very solid. [sprite]467[/sprite] Fire Man the Magmortar @ Expert Belt Naive Nature Flame Body 84 Atk/182 SpA/244 Speed - Earthquake - Cross Chop - Thunderbolt - Flamethrower Magmortar is very potent in destroying stuff with its crazy SpA of 125. STAB Fire moves destroy things that do not resist it... and bulky waters go down from Thunderbolts. The Speed EVs allow me to outpace Gyarados and stuff and hit them with super effective attacks. No Electivire wants to get hit from an EQ either as it switches in... and stuff that like to make contact with Magmortar has 30% chance of getting burned as well! Quite an effective wallbreaker I suppose... Heatran will eat an Earthquake and Blisseys do not want to eat Cross Chops... if they hit U_U Why I chose Magmortar: Quite obvious actually. Magmortar has that blaster thingy which resembles the Robot Masters from Megaman. In fact, does it not seem that it is a rejected Robot Master from Megaman? So let me get this straight. Nintendo traded Ice Man to Capcom... so that they get Magmortar from Capcom in return? I sense a conspiracy brewing... Aside from that, Fire Man seems quite like the hero of justice type of guy with his zealous flames (according to Powered Up) He is also very powerful and if you shoot him before he shoots you, he will start using his Fire Storm at you at the rate where it is virtually undodgable. Magmortar seems perfect to represent Fire Man. He's fast but not too fast, powerful but can be taken down. I could have went Heatran, but I am saving up Heatran for Heat Man, a supposedly superior Fire Robot Master that appears in Megaman 2. Usefulness: |||||||||| Personal Score: |||||||||| Magmortar does his job quite well. Gyarados thinks it can beat it one on one without even remembering that it has Thunderbolt. Scizor eats Flamethrowers and generally does not want to face it. Predicted Heatran switches means they eat Earthquake. Any Scizor who predicted that I would EQ and KO with something like Superpower gets a farewell gift from Fire Man... a burn! (30% chance guarantee) Overall, Magmortar is quite scary, but it goes down fairly quickly, sometimes even in one hit when faced with its weakness. [sprite]145[/sprite] Elec Man the Zapdos @ Leftovers Modest Nature Pressure 4 Def/252 SpA/252 Speed - Roost - Hidden Power Grass - U-turn/Heat Wave - Thunderbolt The offensive Zapdos... hurts quite a bit actually. The annoying thing is, even without any defensive EVs and with mediocre defenses (90/85/95), this thing still takes hits for some weird reason. And things with higher defenses seem to go down faster. Come on Gamefreak. Thunderbolt is for STAB, HP Grass is for bulky grounds, Roost is there to heal, and U-turn is there over Heat Wave because 1) I don't like Zapdos taking over Moltres (think what you would like) and 2) it strikes Tyranitar for Super-effective damage (er... wut?) and 3) useful for scouting so I know what to switch in. Zapdos stands no chance against Tyranitar anyways... so why bother when you can U-turn and switch into a counter? Why I chose Zapdos: I was debating whether I should use a legendary Pokemon or not, but I have decided, I could find no other parallel that could sum up Elec Man better than Zapdos. Elec Man, the most powerful of the 6 Robot Masters just KILLS with his dreaded weapon... the Thunder Beam. It strikes Megaman for 10 points of damage like the Ice Slasher... but unlike the Ice Slasher this weapon actually rips foes apart. Not to mention it destroys rocks when no other weapons other than the Super Arm can do that (Super Arm was built for that purpose!). Oh yes, and the Thunder Beam has a nifty pause trick that can be abused to maxmize the damage it does against bosses like the Yellow Devil. The Magnet Beam is also hidden in his level. Wow... Elec Man is arrogant, knows he is powerful, and will smirk at anyone who thinks they can defeat him. Ironically, his weakness is the humble Rolling Cutter from Cut Man. Zapdos... is quite the same. He's arrogant, destructive, is the least physically defensive of the legendary trio but he takes hits better than they can, KOs things that are supposed to counter him anyways (HP Grass on Swampert... but usually in simulators), KOs other things with Thunderbolt, stole Moltres's job with Heat Wave (imagine if Zapdos got Ice Beam... fans would either praise Gamefreak or people like me will probably burn them down), Pressure stalls foes, and finally Roosts off all the damage done to it. With all the benefits it got compared to the other two birds, who take 50% damage from Stealth Rocks, does the job worse than Zapdos (Articuno is made to be a tank, then why does it need a spinner to get in everytime... Moltres is a sweeper... then why isn't it as fast or get an electric Heat Wave?) is there any wonder I chose Zapdos? He's just as tough of an adversary as Elec Man himself was. Usefulness: |||||||||| Personal Score: |||||||||| As you can probably guess, I do not like Zapdos. I probably will never like Zapdos... and this is actually the first time I have been using him... and undeniably, I use him the most... much like how the Thunder Beam is the most overused weapon in Megaman 1 aside from the Arm Cannon itself. I won't deny Zapdos's usefulness... even with max SpA and max Speed and no Defensive EVs, it takes hits fairly well (even Stone Edges!) and still hits back with a lot of damage. Yeah... Zapdos is quite broken... but still falls to Tyranitar or Blissey (thankfully). Need some convincing that it works? Fine
  11. (Dr. Light vs Mosquito) Shoddy Warstory Just an interesting themed battle. I made one careless mistake though... but aside from that, it is pretty fun to play with themed teams. Rules: Evasion Clause, Extended Game, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause Pokemon: (In order of appearance) Wraith89 Mosquito
  12. Hi all, I completed SoulSilver on an emulator and was wondering if someone could Wi-Fi trade my team to my Platinum, which I have physically. I saved my team and edited the stats of them to suit the progress I have in Platinum right now. My FC is 3180 5698 0478 Thanks. PKM Files.zip
  13. Hadn't slept in awhile when I posted my Platinum BP eon team....... But that's old news. This team is a compilation of my 837x3 hours on Pearl, and my 406 hours on SoulSilver. Mainly based around some of the more common sets you see because they contain alot of my favs. Bred countless times to get the IV's just right, but the EV's were a little easier. Metagross @ Berry* (Fire) Nature: Adamant Ability: Clear Body EVs: Atk-252 Speed-40 Def-218 Role: Phys. Wall/Sweeper - Bullet Punch - Earthquake - Explosion - Stealth Rock *Added Bullet for priority move as suggested, and seems to be better. I'm actually shocked. Slot 2, empty Arcanine @ Life Orb Nature: Adamant Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 4-Hp 252-Atk 252-Speed Role: Lead - Phys. Sweeper - Flare Blitz - Earthquake - ExtremeSpeed - Swords Dance Comment: SD to any attack depending on who's on the other side. Plain job, plain description. Dragonite @ Leftovers Nature: Forgot, but I'm sure it's +Atk Ability: Inner Focus EVs: Atk-252 SpDef-101 Speed-105 Role: Sweeper - Superpower - Fire Punch - Draco Meteor - Roost Comment: Dargon does his job nice, it's clean, like I like. Suicune @ Lum Berry Nature: Timid Ability: Pressure EVs: 252-SpAtk 252-SpDef 4-HP Role: Sp.Sweep/Wall - Calm Mind - Hydro Pump - Ice Beam - Rest Comment: OMG Suicune.. yeah. Vaporeon just didn't cut it, and I'm sorry, but Swampert's sprite is fugly, I just can't. Makes a nice Special Sweeper/Wall, hard to kill. Slot six, empty Please, criticize until you faint. Any and all suggestions are very welcomed. Even after all that work, my team can very well still be better. If I didn't list anything, tell me. Note: I more than likely have a role that needs to be filled, but my mind can't place what....
  14. Leafeon Leaf Blade X-Scissor Baton Pass Swords Dance Espeon Calm Mind Psychic Shadow Ball Baton Pass Umbreon Dark Pulse (I might change it to confuse ray considering umbreon's crappy atk/sp.atk) Wish Toxic Baton Pass Glaceon Ice Beam Shadow Ball Hidden Power (Fire) Baton Pass Jolteon Thunderbolt Agility Hidden Power (Grass) Baton Pass Vaporeon Substitute Surf Acid Armor Baton Pass I would list my EV's and Natures and whatnot, but I can't display EVERY aspect of my team now can I So, I apologize for not listing Roles, EV's, everything else, and not using the proper format. I just can't allow a team that's earned me alot of wins to be replicated and used by others. I would do the proper format too, except I found that out AFTER I made this...
  15. I was hoping to just get a code that would let me encounter any given pokemon in the wild, however finding one that would let me set nature/gender/etc proved impossible to find...the one I had was just for Species and Level. Ah well. I hope it's okay to post six requests in the same thread, versus in six different threads. *grin* Most of the info for all 6 will be the same, which is as follows: Secondly, the individual info for each of the six Eeveeloutions. If you need me to post everything all together in one code I can repost it no problem. I thought that maybe having it separated like this would be easier, since only a few things are changing for each pokemon. Jolteon Flareon Espeon Umbreon Leafeon Glaceon Thank you so much in advance! Tuesday is my birthday, and I'd love to have them hopefully by the end of the week if such a thing is possible.

  17. So after using the same 3-4 teams (only one of them was really unique, the other 3 were variants with the same premise), I decided to re-construct a Wi-Fi Sandstorm team I used....but from memory. Aerodactyl (M) @ Focus Sash Ability: Pressure EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Taunt - Stealth Rock - Toxic - Earthquake Nothing fancy here. I chose Toxic over Stone Edge to help wear down foes such as Swampert. Stone Edge just seemed to never get used, while I'm at least sometimes able to Toxic. The biggest challenge with this lead is against Crobat and Azelf and other Aerodactyls. With Crobat, I tend to switch out. With suicide leads, I hope for the speed tie and SR right away. Against Fake Out Ape, I SR first and anything else I get to do is a bonus. Breloom (M) @ Toxic Orb Ability: Poison Heal EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Spore - Substitute - Leech Seed - Focus Punch After testing out Seed Bomb over Leech Seed, I stuck with the standard set. At 212 speed EVs, would I still be able to outspeed most Swamperts and Suicunes? Leech Seed REALLY helps if paired up with a Toxic from Aerodactyl, or recovering health for Curse-Tar. Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP/46 Atk/212 SpDef Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Curse - Substitute - Crunch - Fire Punch The star of the team. I come in on something that's dying or hates T-Tar (I'm really enjoying the increased usage of Psychic that I'm seeing when using the Sinnoh Lake trio and on Scarf/Specs Starmie), Sub up, and see what happens. With Yawn on Vaporeon and Spore on Breloom, I also get a good number of chances to set up on what would otherwise be a threat to Tyranitar (Gyarados). And in an added bit of hilarity, I finally figured out why it sucked so much at taking special attacks. I accidentally assigned all sp Def EVs into sp atk. I'm also testing out Brick Break over Fire Punch, since it'll give me a neutral hit on Scizor, x2 on Heatran, and x4 on other Tyranitars. However, even with that, it also means I lose a good hit on Starmie, Gengar, and also the 20% drop in defense. Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb EVs: 252 HP/128 Def/128 SAtk Bold nature (+Def, -Atk) - Yawn - Surf - Ice Beam - Protect I've never been big on Wish Passing, but Yawn passing is just fine with me. I'm having a bit of trouble directly countering Gyarados, so I think I'll be testing out HP Electric over Ice Beam. Scizor (M) @ Choice Band Ability: Technician EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 SDef Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Bullet Punch - U-turn - Superpower - Pursuit First time using this baby and I can see why everyone loves it. I'm not getting as much usage out of Pursuit as I'd really like, but every now and then it helps me finish off a switching out Blissey, Starmie, or Gengar. Maybe I should test out Bug Bite or Knock Off? Claydol @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 128 Def/252 HP/128 SDef Bold nature (+Def, -Atk) - Rapid Spin - Light Screen - Earth Power - Reflect Basically my spinner. Spikes/Toxic Spikes can be quite annoying, and I figured this d00d would be best for the job on a sand team. He gets to set up screens too, sometimes, and covers fighting weakness. But with Aero basically stopping Roselia setting up Toxic Spikes, I'm not sure how much I really need this. Otherwise I'd love to throw Bronzong into the mix. This team is winning a fair number of battles, but I think it could be improved. Here's my run down so far: Status absorbing has multiple checks. After Breloom is poisoned it has nothing to worry about and can come in on any status. Tyranitar with a sub also provides a check. Finally, Vaporeon can scout out status with Protect. In addition to that, Claydol can take on Thunderwaves. I'm having more trouble than I thought with Gengar. Scizor can come in and finish it off if it's Specsed or Scarfed, but Life Orbed can fire off shadow ball and finish it with Focus Blast. For this reason, I'm seriously considering switching Vaporeon out for Dusknoir, which would also give me a handy spin blocker. Any suggestions for a set? EDIT: I apologize for the wall-of-text but I'm not feeling very creative right now. Also, link to the SPPF RMT: link
  18. Well, after messing around with Platinum for awhile and trying out a lot of different gimmicky teams to get a feel for the game, I really want to try and make my first team that is supposed to be fairly strong. I have been doing plenty of reading here on the forums before posting to get used to the various jargon like STABs, Sweeper, etc. Also made sure to look at the tier listings so I can keep within the boundaries and looked at several common builds. I generally try to avoid making anything overly generic in the games I play, so with this team, while I do not mind the idea of one or two generic team members, I do want to try and at least have a good mix of different kinds of Pokemon. I would prefer to avoid extremely common Pokemon like Blissey and Salamance if it can be helped. I have always preferred having a well-rounded team, so having a good lead, a couple sweepers, a wall or two, and a set-up type Pokemon would likely fit my play-style best. Strictly offensive or strictly defensive are just not as fun for me. Anyways... semi wall-of-text aside, I have done some intial research on the Pokemon types I would like, so here are a few ideas I had... Arcanine - Attack/Mix Sweeper Milotic - Bulky Water, possibly wanting to keep Mirror Coat Dragonite - Attack/Mix Sweeper Porygon-Z - S Attack Sweeper Gengar - S Attack Sweeper Celebi - Set-up (Stealth Rock, U-Turn) Umbreon - Wish Support and Wall Milotic is the only one on that list that I especially want on my team. I went out of my way to get her as I quite like them. =n.n= I have a few other Pokemon trained from previous teams like Houndoom, Kingdra, Tyranitar, every Eeveelution, etc, but it would be nice to train all new types. I will definitely still be doing more research as the list I have so far obviously does not work too well, but I am also quite eager for any suggestions from the people here. =n.n= I am trying to learn a lot at once, so feel free to make suggestions as help building my first good team would be much appreciated. My normal prefernce is to train pretty/cute Pokemon, but OU can be rather lacking on those due to most Pokemon losing all cuteness from evolving. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out. =n.n= EDIT: I added a first version of the team a couple posts down. Please feel free to give feedback and suggestions as I am very open to them. =n.n= EDIT2: Some changes based on feedback have been posted~ They are in Post #12 of this topic. =n.n= Thanks everyone~

  21. I feel as if theres not enough people posting there teams So I'll post another one of mine. This one was in the shelves for quite a while, but it's somewhat as a revenge team, when my other teams can't win because of a powerful psychic/ghost pokemon or steel trashing my team. This team gets the job done as my revenge team, funny as it's filled with revenge killers Azelf @ Focus Sash/Life Orb Ability: Levitate EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) Role: Stealth Rocker - Grass Knot - Stealth Rock - Explosion - U-turn Info: My lead, azelf is all standard stuff here. 22. Hi there, i'm here again. This time i'd like building up a eeveelutions baton-pass team, as Wright89 suggests in another thread. Since it has been said that toxic spikes is a big problem for this kind of team, i thaught using only 5 eeveelutions and one baton pass/defog gliscor. Anyway i've not much ideas about which eeveelution and which move use. Any idea?
  23. There is a compo coming up soon I am planning on entering. Sadly enough the rule set is kinda annoying in my eyes. The competition will be set up like this 1 vs1 knock out system use 3 of the 6 pokemon (except in the finals then all 6 are used) Uber tier is not allowed rule sets applied sleep clause KO clause freeze clause species clause OHKO clause evasion clause if battle ends by use of life orb. the user with life orb wins combination of azumarill+belly drum+aua jet is forbidden items not allowed: Brightpowder, Focus Band, King's Rock, Lax Incense, Quick Claw, Razor Claw, Razor Fang, Scope Lens these rules really make it hard for me to decide what to use. I wondered if any of you might have some sugestions. Pokemon I was thinking of (didnt put to much thought in the move sets yet or the EV): Luxray, Flygon and Walrein
  24. Hello I would like to get my platinum team to Heart gold but I have only one Ds. 25. Hi there, recently i was thinking about an insane team, but i need some advice since i'm quite new to pokemon team building. Any advice will be appreciated. The team gives the best while a Hail is on the field. This team has a choiche for every ice weeknes. Surely is not so solid, but i think it works fine. P.S. I'm sorry for possible grammatical or syntactical mistakes. Any advice in this way too will be appreciated
