idea Pokemon Ideal Black 2 & True White 2 - Seeking Partners!
wyndamn replied to aninymouse's topic in ROM - NDS Discussion & Help
Well i do agree on the part that they are jokes from GF, they just make them cause they are lacking some animal to fill the dex of the region or something alike, however as i proved not all of them need to have stats changes to be fixed. As an example i will use my idea for Luvdisc. I gave luvdisc the move lovely kiss for logic purposes and to further improve the support given by it, now i also raised the accuracy of the move to 80% and also the accuraccy of supersonic to 90%, she will also learn endeavor by level up. When you couple all of those things together you end up like this: Luvdisc (F) Focus Sash/ Swift Swim Adamant/ Jolly 252 Atk/ 252 spe (0 HP ivs) Lovely Kiss Aqua Jet Endeavor (Filler) substitute/Supersonic/toxic, etc. Playing her in rain with doubled speed, first you put one to sleep, then opponents switches and you Endeavor, which should do a lot of damage since luvdisc base Hp is so low. After that you go for a boosted Aqua Jet which may pull a K.O. after the Endeavor. When the next one comes endeavor and Aqua Jet again which may leave you KOing two pokémon and disabling one. take out 3 pokemon easily. I think she can be further improved, also been considering to add pain split on her since its basically a 2nd option that will also hit ghosts and do some damage and also suits because shes a love reflecting pokémon and love hurts and when it hurts its a share pain for the couple usually if they truly love each other (only using logic). Its not the epithome of power but it does work and at least you acquire the temptation to beat your opponent with it, without the use of batton pass. btw sorry for double posting. -

I understand, but these are mainly because of pure logic, there are many pokémon who shouldnt learn some of those moves which in the end are not that necessary and also you have to take into account that with the change on the move to being a -2 accuraccy can be annoying as hell to play against if its too widely distributed even though i shrinked the amount of pp of most of the moves so more pokémon can be less abussive with certain moves, reinforce the utility of the ability pressure and also at the same time make the stall battles a little more fast paced and to force the player to think wiser about his moves before making them and ending up with none and struggling. At the moment im transfering all data to an spreadsheet to organize it better and then pass this to you, so you can start making some changes but as i said we need to discuss further about many others im not sure which ability to put on them from the ones i chosed, because i need feedback on it. When it comes to thunder wave, too many pokémon who shouldnt learned have it, so its necessary to cut those out to give more importance to other electric types that are less used for this same purpose, because this at the same time raises their utility status and basically the same concept applies for toxic which all pokémon that learn TMs can learn and they shouldnt. So remember to take a look closely to the changes on moves as well and then analize it in the OU metagame sense and you will understand most of the changes, im also trying to find some new niches that havent been discovered yet to apply them on some pokémon, but this is a little hard to do and takes more time, so ill leave that for the end so we can think of it in group. -

Well you understood me that´s what counts lol... i was talking about being the ideas-man, i just wanna see this blossom as soon as possible n_n but just so you know a pokémon with very low stats can be fixed by just giving it a few new toys to play with. A simple example i did was giving Chatot 2 things; Technician and i also changed the effect of Feather Dance to be a +1 Spa & Spe for the user (which by the way fixes many pokémon who learn the move as well) of course i also removed some moves from overpowered mons, example excadrill is mostly broken because of the sword dance and so is garchomp or thundurus because of nasty plot, so if you remove those moves from them they will be more balanced and will be left unbroken but OU worthy. Another example is Spinda with Huge Power since it has access to sucker punch and substitute, Return, Dizzy Punch and work up plus other useful moves can prove to become a pain in the ass and the ability suits him perfectly since its pronounced Chika-ra mochi and actually means unrecognized power. As opposed to bulbapedias translation which is very similar but not completely accurate, which makes total sense with the marril concept to be applied on spinda. Another thing i made was remove some moves some pokémon didnt need that much to make more useful and unique the rest of the other pokémon that do learn it an example of this is toxic is learned by every single pokémon able to learn tm moves, so i removed it from a lot of mons and only left it for the ones that have used it on the anime or that are suitable for it. I also did many interesting changes that may be pretty logical for pokémon like for example Speed Boost for ponyta and rapidash which her pokedex entry mentions acceleration itself which is the correct translantion for speed boost and that is a speedy pokémon as well plus the fact that its not broken on her as opposed to blaziken. I will pass you the document over a link by PM and we can discuss any changes you think are not that well suited but as i said its better not to mess with stats editing. Just keep in mind my document is not finished yet and still needs some work. -
Thanks a lot again ! Kaphotics youre very helpful.

Im an idealist and the first thing i will say is that my purpose for pokémon is the same as Colress: "What I desire is to bring out the entirety in Pokémon potential!" Keeping that in mind i have MANY ideas written on a wordpad document and others in my head that i had documented for my hackrom, but unfortunately i dont have that much editing experience yet. This document has many details on how to fix many pokémon that deserve improvement to convert them into competitive pokémon with very small changes, while at the same time keeping them truthful to themselves and their game information. Another aspect inside this same goal (as you suggested in your comments previously) is balancing the game out in such way that almost all pokémon can compete at the same levels, being only divided into three main categories (Ubers , OU & LC.) or at max only four of them, which will be a reflection upon the improvements on the game. Most of these changes dont require any stats modifications on pokémon and at the same time these improvements will keep the game fresh and exciting. And if necessary i can come up with a lot of ideas that suit the situation, moment or location if there´s any editing needed for the games plot or to insert anything new. So keeping everything i writted in mind if you are able to do the following (or get people that can do it) i can gladly provide many of my ideas and serve as an idea producer in the making of this hack: - Create Events trough wondercards (Not mandatory.) - Changing the typing effectiveness and resists. (I think you already are able to do this from what you have said so far). - Changing abilities effects. - Changing percentages of move damages. - Scripting Legends Encounters to appear in the game with their overworld sprites. - Swapping some overworld trainers with Gym Leaders, Elite Trainers, Rivals, Etc. - Editing Hidden Grottos. - Editing In-Game Trades. - Editing Swarms. (Not mandatory.) - Editing Tutors Moves. (Not mandatory.) - Editing Evolution Conditions. - Editing pokémon Eggmoves (Very necessary but not mandatory.) - Editing pokémon Level Up moves. - Making an overworld sprite turning into a pokémon upon interacting with it. - Pokedex Location editing. - Opening Editing to edit the games name and images showing at the beggining. - Sprite Editing. - Text & Plot editing. My first suggestion is to do the Hackrom over pokémon white only since this will mean there will be less work to be done and also its more suitable for the hack and changing the name of the project to; Pokémon Black & White 2: Truth & Ideals. Sounds much better and suitable because we are going to be dealing with only one of the versions that will contain all of the pokémon. And maybe who knows if it becomes popular maybe create a server to use it as a trading and battling network so everyone can use their favorite pokémon to their fullest. Im already well aware that many of these changes are possible already, yet not all people know how to hex edit or maybe they do but dont have all of the proper information to do so, i will edit and add later anything that i dont remember at the moment. Any improvements that im not sure about at the moment can be discussed with the crew once assembled, in the meantime after these conditions are met you can pm me. -
EXCELLENT ! Thanks for the info *-* Now there are a few hex that i dont understand, following your table it starts in the order of the game from floccesy ranch and onwards, im editing the file 3_000 on CrystalTile2 (from narc a/2/7/3 hidden grottos) it starts normally with CE00 (dunsparce) and also contains Marril (B700) and herdier (FB01) which are correct... but what im confused about is the 0A & 1E, are these fillers? Also is there any hex editor that can show me the tables in the same order as the ones you posted? because in CT2 they are in order but they dont show all the values on the same line like your tables. Here´s a Screenie just in case.

Thanks for the update ! ^^ it has been REALLY helpful (caps were necessary !) by the way, has anyone been succesful at editing hidden grotto pokémon? i would like to know how to do this, since i dont see any options for this at the moment with the PRC.

TwistedFatal Black and White Toolbox
wyndamn replied to twistedfatal's topic in ROM - NDS Research and Development
The only thing im hoping for this time is that when you finish the Egg Move Editor and the Moveset Editor you do this with a clean rom instead of a modified rom like last time :frown: -
Luckily im not using any crappy antiviruses (or had any at that moment) it was actually google chrome the one detecting this now that i realize this ._. ...either way thanks for the quick response.

Is it me only, or the link for BW2 Rom changer is appearing as malicious to anyone else? could someone verify this? i dont want to download any corrupted files.

Could you make a moveset folder with clean moves for the moveset editor, if its not much to ask? cuz really i think most people in here would appreciate that a lot, and thanks for all of your tools so far they have been very useful. -
answered Modifying Egg Moves in Pokémon Black/White
wyndamn replied to Shiny Sheimi's topic in ROM - NDS Discussion & Help
Actually i think that´s partially possible with Twisted Fatal´s 5th Gen Moveset Editor, but i havent test it yet. I came up with the idea that since an offspring can enherit a move it learns by level up and that the parent(s) know, then the only thing you would need in order to do that is replace a level up move the basic form knows with the desired move, for example; Replace level up flamethrower attack from charmander (because he also learns it by TM) with the move Fiery Dance and then doing the same for charmeleon and/or charizard, and after that when you breed a charizard or charmeleon with that move, then the offspring charmander should get it aswell because it also learns it by level up, this should be possible because you are replacing the hex value in the game itself. Just like you would do to breed a starly with death gambith for Little Cup. BTW Andybad in that situation Aninymouse mentioned (Luvdisc ---> Alomomola) then you will have to change the eviolite to work for luvdisc...do you happen to know how to change that? -
If you are one of those that care about giving nicknames which suit pokémon or placing nicknames that suit them in some other way then this is just the thread for it. So i wanna hear if you people have more interesting and clever nicknames for some pocket monsters and explain the reasons behind the nickname(s) (Except if its too obvious of course) So i will leave a list of some i have made for a few of them or other that are popular for some. I will add more nicknames to the list depending on how suitable or creative they are. Keep in mind that nicknames can only be 11 letters long if im not mistaken. Carvanha - Phiranah (named after the movie with the same name) Cottone & Whimsicott - Cotton Deerling - Bambi (M)/ Faline (F) (movie) Elgyem & Beheeyem - E.T. (movie) Empoleon - DPenguin ( Batman Comics enemy) Garchomp - Streetshark (named after the comic Street Sharks) Gligar & Gliscor - Batman (Comic) Houndoom - Cerberus (he actually looks very alike this legendary creature depictations) Jellyscent - Mr. Pringles (M) Klink, Klank & Klingklang - Mtl.GearSld ( Metal Gear Solid video Game) Mareep & Flaffy - Dolly (named after the first cloned sheep) Prinplup - Happyfeet Ninetails - FireFox/Mozilla (Web Browser) Kitsune (japanese folklor) Kyubi (the Kyubi is based on the Kitsune) Rotom-F - Frigidaire/Nedoca (rotom forms have electrodomestic brand names) Rotom-H - Hotpoint/LG Rotom-S - Universal Rotom-W - Whirlpool Sawsbuck - Fawn (F) / WoodsPrince (M) (named after bambi´s parents) Sharpedo - Jaws (Movie) Tornadus - Fujin (japanese god of Wind) Naruto (Naruto´s series main character he´s based on Fujin) Thundurus - Raijin (japanese god of thunder) Sasuke (one of Naruto´s series main char he´s based on Raijin) Tirtouga & Carracosta - Kameturtle (Anime Dragon Ball) Turtwig & Grottle - Franklyn (cartoon Franklin The Turtle) Vanillite, Vanillish & Vanillux - BaskinRobin (ice cream brand) Vulpix - FireFox/Mozilla (Web Browser)

Great !! im sure there is a part concerning the items since some items have restrictions when it comes to certain moves like for example heal block vs leftovers and etc. but i guess youll have to do more testing to find that out. And just as a reference, even though bulbapedia has some unmatch data cheking the move first and then bulbapedia makes it easier to figure it out what those other bits are for, in any case i think you can also find the info to compare it with on smogon´s B/W research Thread.

Then this is just how i was assuming it worked. They are indeed affected by moves. For example +002 makes reference to moves that goe above the sky (so its either fly or bounce) and both should be affected by the moves described on +002, and so on. So if we arent wrong, you could prove this by changing the unknown value of whirlwind or roar into another unknown value of a move that has magic coat & magic bounce registered as a +000 and then test both moves against a magic bounce xatu or espeon and it should work, in theory. Note aswell that they may be the same because some of this effects are repeated in other moves but may or not have slight variations. So this is why snatch has the same effect as #20 because snatch avoids some status moves to steal them. Also regarding to what Kaphotics posted about the multi-hit moves i think the message display number could be edited trough poketext if im not mistaken. Anyway if this does work, then its exactly what i needed to fix whirlwind and roar to make them unaffected by magic bounce

Okz, cool will do

Is this already finished? want to point out when looking at shell smash stats (amount & capacity) are not appearing in the program also another thing is that status isnt in english in the classification tab, so i dont know if these are an issue. One question, what about those unknown values do anyone knows what are they for? Anyway thank all of you for all of your hard work translating this wonderful tool, specially to Andi you are really awesome dude !

I want to make clear first that this is not to play on random wifi matches or on any other official tourneys, as i dont support cheating. That being said, this is only meant to be used for friendly hacked pokémon matches or tourneys, but the other reasons are inside the spoiler below; I think that covers everything. Also i removed Shift Gear from Mawile on the list, as i havent seen the animation of the attack before editing it and it does not fit her at all. So i´m gonna try another combinations for her. Edit; I´ll upload an update of the documents in a few weeks more since i had to revamp the documents, because i have been researching, calculating and testing many of the stuff i made in the documents and some of them weren´t appropiate. -
that´s marvelous, that´s what i call organization

heart gold / soul silver hack Pokemon Special DS (PSDS)
wyndamn replied to Alpha's topic in ROM - NDS ROM Hacks
I totally agree with this, since i always said the manga its superior to the series but i´m lazy as hell to go and download the manga and read all that stuff. I rather play the story line of the manga. BTW who cares if you´ll have to play with the pokemon of the manga, anyway when the story finishes you still get to catch wathever you want to have i assume. I also hope this gets finished, it would be wonderful and that´ll give me another reason to play HG & SS again. -
I´ve been doing a bit of this for my hackrom project which its in my signature and i have to say you are missing various attacks to fix like supersonic, splash, sweet kiss, poison powder, stun spore etc. Also remember that some moves are meant to be used in LC and for leveling up in the game, for example increasing tackle´s power more isnt a good way to go. I think you can check that info about the multi hit accuracy in bulbapedia, but if im not mistaken they do have have their accuracy for each hit. my opinions are inside this spoiler. I already got tired -.- there are still various other things that are too overpowered indeed focus only in fixing bad and unused moves but not overdoing them so. You first have to consider which pokemon learns each attack before changing them ito avoid making pokemon more Uber lol...things like feather dance which no one uses if could be change to +1 speed, special attack and accuracy will be more ideal and will raise its usage and so on instead of changing attacks that are already good such as meteor mash and others. It seems to me (for the changes you made in here) that you still lack more experience in the 5th gen meta to truly understand what needs what in order to be better, but well its your project anyway and those are only my opinions. Feel free to pm me for any consulting or ideas if you want or just do polls about them on facebook with a wide number of other experienced players.

Found the niche for Garbodor which makes her family line very good without being broken, since it requieres a bit of skill, setup or time to pull it off while simultaneously being blocked by the use of unaware pokemon, encore, trick or switcheroo, disable, sleep moves or phazing move users. To fix it i just needed to include three new moves in its usable movepool and all of them make pretty much sense in it , these are; Stored Power - Being a Thrash bag they are supposed to store many things within themselves. (i dont know how Gamefreak missed this pokémon logic trolling they usually do since garbodor its a physical pokemon n_n) Nasty Plot - to make a reference of the awful odor it has and since its thrash i guess they plot to dominate the world, lol. Work Up - This is something that logically all pokemon are able to do. Thrash - Only for logical fun of it. Now the main idea here is to combine nasty plot or work up with stockpile and weak armor ability to fire up a powerful Stored Power. Also a set within nasty plot alone can work since it has moderate defenses to take advantage from. whereareas work up is to aim for the physical or mixed side of the spectrum. Another change i will make at the same time its transforming stored power into a normal type move since batton passing can make this attack very troublesome. This will let ghost types block such attack while at the same time giving them more importance. Also this change follows logic, since storing things its something many pokemon can do and finally to compensate the typing loss i will increase it by 20 bp more for a total of 40 base power. Edit: Also Added Adaptabilty on Deerling and Sawsbuck as a secondary ability and moved the sap sipper as a dream world ability. This will power up Both of its stab move options specially its leech horn attack. The logic reason of it its because it can adapt to any place they live as stated in bulbapedia and also because it lives in almost every enviroment in the unova region. BTW you can ask any questions about the logic behind any changes in the list if you do not understand it. -

Yeah i just forgot to place it in the post, but i did change it on the document n_n. On the other hand Garbodor indeed needs something to stand out itself and be different to many other pokemon but i doubt intimidate or leech seed will really upgrade her and doesnt really fit her either leech seed will be too weird even if its logical. Gonna check now to see which moves fit her and then see if i can pull a niche for her to prevent her from being total garbage lol. and please next time if youre placing a long list put it on a spoiler. -

You wrote several logical ideas that may be changed later on, but only as a secondary or minor edits as most of them are not really that useful in the sense of the metagame for these pokemon (which its mostly the goal here) since the majority are weak moves that may only be used for LC battles or in-game. Also some suggestions were irrelevant as the pokemon already learned the suggested move, didnt suit them or i had already done the change before. Anyway somethings i did see as useful are; - Eelektrik line *Surf...but giving them muddy water its even more logical and suitable since most eels (if not the all) live at the bottom of the sea or ponds along the dirt or in caves. Also helps in the sense of dropping the foe´s accuracy and is also useful together with coil, rain support, double battles, in trick room and also to be more unpredictable. - Excadrill *Iron Head Makes total sense, specially since i removed the sand rush ability from him and replaced it with weak armor. - Pignite & Emboar * Fire Punch as an alternative physical non-recoil damage move plus this logic cannot be denied. * Submission also helps in combination of reckless and the move also fits him perfectly. - Woobat & Swoobat * Trace since bats can trace things thanks to their ultrasonic location system to know their surroundings. Also good and useful logic here. Just to make things more clear, we need logic, but only with few minor key edits that create hype over using the pokemon and that also fits the pokemon theme or looks while being helpful for them. In any case if you want reasons for me not picking some just ask and ill explain with more detail. I,ll add you to the credits. Meanwhile im gonna make these changes in the document and gonna upload it later when we get a few more ideas, those who already have the documents please edit them with the changes in this thread or wait until i re-upload it. -
There is a method aragonbird applied to improve the game difficulty by changing the message of the shifting battle mode in-game to: X is about to send something. This alone makes the game even harder, without the need to be upgrading the levels on each pokemon (at least in my opinion) http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?14568-Pokemon-Pure-White-Pitch-Black give him credit for that if you´re gonna use this idea, which is pretty useful. Taking Archeops defeatist ability its a bad call he´s already way good (it´ll be like taking away slaking ability or regigigas) and will be even more broken with moody, which its mostly a high rewarding ability, specially on pokemon´s who are already fast and strong or that have moderate defenses. I don´t think Dark/water really suits samurott, i think water/normal suits him better in any case. The same goes for the monkeys rather make´em normal subtypes. Snivy its ok as a Grass/poison but that type its really already overflowed we already have victreebell, vileplume, amoonguss and venusaur. That´s why people rather make him a Grass/Dragon as for emboar ground/fire its ok but i rather make him a dark/fire which suits his color theme and makes him unique at the same time. A tip on changing type combinations is; first examine what suits the looks of that pokemon, then examine which type of moves does it learns the most & the character, and then based on that you can get the right subtype for it. But oh well those are just my opinions.
