    If a Pokemon is too illegal, the game forces it into an egg. Happens when you hacked in a move and/or a species doesn't exist in PLA. In any case, not a PKHeX error and definitely happened due to the user.

    You Switch needs to be able to connect to HOME. If you can't connect to HOME, it likely won't work. IP address can be gotten from pressing Y on homebrew launcher, if I'm not mistaken. Alternatively, you should be able to get it via checking your Internet Settings on the Switch.

    @paf Thanks for the screenshot. We can try to check if it's a missing encounter, or maybe the encounter bled over to another route. Can you catch this one and check if it's illegal too?

I don't think you're in any position to pull such a tone too, so be mindful of that. (For the record, I'm not saying it is okay being rude. It's just that it's is slightly more acceptable if it comes from a dev, for example, as opposed to a rando) Yes, staff do get annoyed that these posts pop up all the time. But you know what, we're a forum that has new people periodically show up. It's understandable for these kind of questions to appear. It would be a different story if it came from a long time user... Anyhow, as I've said, this has gone on long enough. I'm locking this thread.

    Yes. And that is to be expected. Most major updates would break save recognition. PKHeX doesn't magically read the newly revised save. Just wait patiently.

    MST and SGM isn’t supported by PKHeX. As for the .SAV, try loading it in-game, then saving twice, then trying again. edit: Trimming the extra bytes works wonders. Pokemon Crystal Save - Pokemon Center New York Pokemon and ToysRus Mew(1).sav

    You’re having a laugh aren’t you? Have the required save for the required game on your device/emulator. (I don’t remember which game they needed, SWSH or BDSP) No, because the save doesn’t store Mystery Gifts. The game immediately writes the flag upon receiving the gift.     Yes and no. You should keep a safe backup elsewhere before all the edits. Else you shouldn’t set over your one and only Pokémon. what ribbons did you try to give them?

    Are the ribbons the only change you did? Do you have any unedited copies?

    “Safely”. Things to note: - Only HOME can issue legitimate HOME trackers - they use the trackers to track Pokémon that has went through HOME. Right now, it doesn’t appear that they catch users who deposit mons that should have had a HOME tracker. They have the capabilities to do so, but they’re not doing that right now, and we’re unsure if they will ever do so. So how ‘safe’ is that, and how much risk you want to take, is up to your own prerogative. And no, you can’t change the location. Whatever it shows up as in game, and whatever location the data actually has, is not meant to be changed by any user.

    I’ve yet to look at the Pokémon, but ignoring ‘mystery zone’ BS, what were their origin games? Location header in game follows origin games (if it’s a transferred mon)

    @MahinTheMachine the save, not the ROM. Sharing of ROMs is against our rules. It’s a .SAV, not .GBA

    Below, I’ll be quoting you part by part and replying to them separately. I’ve amended what I said in this portion before I posted it. Refer to the Marowak response below. For many SWSH encounters, EC-PID-IVs-HT-WT are correlated. You change one of them, the correlation breaks. That’s the error message you got. basically either change them all to a legal combination based on the correlation, or don’t change them at all. Same issue as above. Hidden Abilities cannot be changed to regular abilities in-game, so what you did is not legal. If you want a non-HA copy, gotta use a different encounter.

    Randomise your game as per usual, start the game, receive the starter. Then provide us with the save.

    Farfetch'd has always had silly issues with the apostrophe. I can confirm one I just caught in BW has that issue. 083 - Farfetch'd - 02BB9CB1964C.pk5 I know the one transferred from Pokémon GO is intentionally flagged as illegal due to them using the wrong apostrophe, but I don't know if this is one of those.

    Use the non-English one from the Mystery Gift database from the get go. In order to do that, you should load the gift using a save of that intended language (i.e. in your example, non-English.) Each language has a different OT, so if you merely change the language of the mon without matching it with a corresponding OT, it will naturally be illegal.

    Only the 2017 OG model + 1-2 years thereabouts can get homebrew easily. The Mariko units and Switch Lite can get homebrew, but require hard mods. Either way you'll need homebrew to get to your save

    they probably edit it through PKHeX. Just because a mon is illegal doesn't mean the mon can't be used. Just because PKHeX flags it illegal doesn't mean it stops you from saving. Sadly those punks probably just use PKHeX.
