  1. UPDATE 4: About Japanesse My Pokemon Ranch: - Region code seems to be 0x00 for normal japanesse my pokemon ranch. Seems totally compatible with the other versions (NTSC and PAL using regionchanger). About the Platinum update savegame: - savedata.bin is bigger, seems that space was added for 500 player pokemon and 500 hayley's pokemon (a total of 3000 pokemon in the ranch). Some more Ranch data is added as well (for the new features I guess, like song changing, that setting may be saved as well). - The start offset of mii data has changed, since some more data for the ranch save was added, the start offset of mii data has changed. Since I wrote these tools with a hardcoded offset instead of reading the offset from the header (because I discovered that later) the only tools that will work with the platinum update savegame are hashupdater and regionchanger. I may rewrite my tools to clean the code and add compatibility with the platinum update savegame. - For platinum update the region code seems to be 0x40. I think that these region codes are actually only bitmasks, since my pal savegame was updated to 0x60 (bit 6 was enabled) and not 0x40. - A platinum update savegame will NOT work on any non platinum update game. The game will say the save is corrupted (but it is not, it must make some kind of filesize check). UPDATE 3: I tested a little with dolphin and found the header value that defines de region/language of the savegame. I've updated the post with the new information, and I've also attached a new file with the updated information and a new app: PR-regionchanger.exe, which has a region selector (jap, NTSC-U, PAL: english, dutch, french, german, spanish, italian) and also updates the file's hash. UPDATE 2: I made a quick test with a pal savedata I found. The PAL ranch save seems to be language locked and the "connect to wii" option will only appear in the DS games of the same language (english, deutch, french, italian and spanish). I couldn't find any obvious value in the savefile storing the language setting. The lack of a language setting in the NTSC-U savefile might be what prevents the save from loading on the PAL game. I could create several new savefiles in different languages and compare them, but as I said I'm not working on this anymore. UPDATE: Released extractor, id changer and hash updater! Only tested with PAL and NTSC-U savefiles. FAQ: - What are these for? With these tools you can extract the .pkm files from My Pokemon Ranch savedata and take ownership of all the pokemon in the ranch, so you can withdraw them with any NDS cart. - How do I get the savefile from my wii? You will need a homebrew enabled wii (aka Homebrew Channel) and you'll need to use Savegame Manager Gx. - Can I use the savegame copied from the system menu? No, you can't. Either way, if you can copy it it means your wii is homebrew enabled, since you aren't supposed to be able to copy that savegame. - Can I know my secret trainer ID with these tools? Yes you can. Each .pkm file extracted with PR-extractor contains in its filename the TID and SID of the trainer that deposited the pokemon in decimal (normal numbers, not hex like the .tnr files). Alternative method for pokemon extracting: If you use PR-extractor, you can check data of the trainer that deposited the pokemon (TID and SID). You can check the name at My pokemon Ranch screen or using pokegen and opening the .pkm file (only if the pokemon belonged to this same trainer). If you edit your NDS savegame so it matches the TID, SID and name of the trainer that deposited the pokemon, you can withdraw them. Quick Instructions: Savedata structure information: This is the thread that originated it all: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?28382-Reading-My-Pokemon-Ranch-save) Original post: PR-tools_v2.zip

  2. Hello everyone, I'm theSLAYER, your events moderator and forum administrator here! As a new line of games on a new console is coming up, changes are required for new contributions! Please submit ALL from below: For local wireless events, please extract the wonder card (such as via a RAM dump) Submit a photograph or in-game screenshot of receiving the gift. Submit photographs relating to the event (event banner, brochures or pamphlets, people at the event etc) Context to the event (ie. Self obtained? Location? Was it crowded? Collection Process etc.) As your saves are located on the Switch console itself (not your cartridge), you'll definitely need Homebrew or CFW on your Switch in order to extract your data. From now till the release of the games, if you need to install whatever, please do so if you intend to contribute (and of course, we're not responsible to anything that happens to your Switch)

  3. I would like to help, but what exactly do you mean here? Transfering Pokemon with short nicknames to see as much trash as possible?

  4. After finishing my Project with the event Pokemon RNG on DeSmuME. I will contribute to the PalPark Project. Since I am also interested in that. But perhaps this is for legacy, I read that gen6 and 7 won't have any trash bytes left migrating from Gen3.

  5. I remember @Kirzi saying that quite a while back, if I’m not mistaken. If I have any codes for the currently running SEA events, I could give it a try (to reconfirm that information, and maybe properly document it somewhere).

  6. After all, the Nintendo Switch itself isn’t region locked, but the servers could very well enforce region locking (based on registered account’s region) if they so choose to. edit: I'm presently testing a new format, for future wonder cards (not that we have them yet ) WC ID?:「?」, without any preset language. Species Chansey Nickname (default name) OT Name (recipient) TID 181116 Distribution Serial Code Location a Pokémon Center Dates (Various) PID Cannot Be Shiny Games Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee Nature Random Card Per Save Only One Allowed Lv. 1 Classic Moves (ITALIC means Relearnable) Pound Double Slap Celebrate (None) Format Ver.1.0.6-3, Post Updated Date:20181031_2127

  8. Also got tonight the Lapras and the Scyther. Now we're just missing 3 exclusive moves (Acid Grimer/Muk, Sludge Wave Gengar), 1 event move (Present Pikachu without hat) and 1 legacy Egg move (Stomp Kangaskhan). The problem for the last one is because I live in Europe I won't be able to get it at all I hope @theSLAYER can help us for this one.

  9. To add on to this, due to this mechanism, that is why Gen 6 and 7 Local Wireless and Infrared events are not region locked. The "region locking" experienced by Nintendo Zone and Serial Code events are done by the server. As there's no exception to this thus far, it is easier to simply keep the terminology in place, and refer to serial code and nintendo zone events as region locked, as it's tedious to keep stating that "the lock was enforced by the server". Granted, PGL serial codes has been region free for the most part, they still assign the language of the card based on the receiver's 3DS's region, so nothing has changed there. Yeah, a few times the made an event for HKTW and SEA combined, so the only region that couldn't redeem it was Korea ><

  10. Gen 4/5 had distributions locked to a specific language. The wondercards could be written in English for example, but it would have a language flag for that game. For example if WORLDS wanted to distribute the same wondercard in English to every language, there would be 7 wondercards, all in English, but with a language flag specific to the language it was distributing. Gen 6/7 depends on the distribution method. The wondercards themselves are not region locked. Gen 6/7 has language limitation capabilities but as far as I am aware, it was never used. Serial code events are different. The serial code redemption itself is what determines the language/wondercard received (if applicable). Redemption of a serial code is region/language restricted. If a region supports a language, but the wondercard doesn't exist, then the user gets the region's default language (Japanese for Japan, Korean for Korea, and English everywhere else). US - Restricted to NA (including SA) - English, French, Spanish - All other languages get English EU - Restricted to EU Region - English, French, Spanish, German, Italian - All other languages get English JP - Restricted to Japan Region - All languages get Japanese KO - Restricted to Korean Region - All languages get Korean HK/TW - Restricted to EU English, JP, and TW Regions - All languages get English SEA - Restricted to US & JP - All languages get English Sometimes HKTW and SEA are combined so it becomes All US, All EU, JP, and TW (I think Marshadow was like this?)
