No, gen 5 events are locked to the language of your game. For your second question, since the DS is region free and since the physical system has no effect on if you can receive events, you would be able to use an NA or PAL system with a Japanese cartridge to redeem Japanese events. The redeemed Pokemon would be the language of your game, which would be JP. That Hydreigon event is not able to be another language, only JP. A lot of western events had separate wondercards for ENG/SPA/ITA/FRA/GER, but I think most Japanese events were locked to a Japanese wondercard. I think the few exceptions would be the 2012 Singapore Fes Pikachu.2 points

The language of the events doesn’t affect the trade. Any language-trade shenanigans was related to the games itself, not due to the fact it’s an event. Example: Gen 3 carts could all trade cross-language, but you get weird issues when trading European mons with diacritic in name characters, display of European names in a Japanese game and what happens to the name when you evolve such mons etc. Gen 4 could trade cross language just fine, except with Korean games (language). They were introduced late and didn’t appear to be planned for, so no trading with Non-Korean games there. Due to not having Gen 3 Korean games, their Pal Park usage isn’t language locked. Gen 5, IIRC, no issues cross language trading wise. Region of the DS doesn’t matter. Main issue with language of the cartridge. So in this example, let’s say a ENG Diamond and a JPN Pearl. They can trade (doesn’t matter if ENG game was purchased in US or EU). They can battle. You only issue would be a KOR Pearl instead, due to the Korean Gen 4 issue mentioned earlier. But you could have just transferred the Mon into a Gen 5 game then trade there. minor edit: I think region lock was kinda an issue with 3DS/DSi and Gen 5 games (cause they have DSi features). But that’s about it. Don’t have to worry if you’re not using a 3DS/DSi console1 point

NDS didn’t have region set into it. IIRC Gen 3 - Gen 5 had wonder cards limited to language of the cart (again, region wasn’t a thing for the device, and if you see it from the perspective that people bought the carts from stores in their own country, as most physical stores then [depending on country you’re in] weren’t big on just importing merch of other languages not native to that country, where that store only sold carts of the common language or the language spoken there, that’s technically the ‘region lock’ right there). If I’m not mistaken, only events like WORLDS had event distribution that mixed European and Asian languages, else it’s normally “just stick to the languages used in the area” type of deal.1 point

oh it seems i completely missed the Melon folder like an idiot and i instead took the gba patch instead, im gonna get the correct one and come back with my results. thank you for the response! Lets goooo! that did it i can save and i can finally get to play this game again with different pokemon! excited to get into it1 point

Hi, there should be! There should be two different versions of both midday and midnight included in the zip file - one set in a folder labelled for nogba and one for melon. There's an additional bugfix patch applied to the nogba version of the files that fixes a no saving issue in a different emulator, but it causes saving to fail on melon, so it's not applied on the alternate patch. Might be worth double checking you have the melon-compatible version of midnight installed!1 point

Yeah. Download that mod I linked and look in the readme file, it lists the folders you will need to change. Simply find a way to import JP Rui data over to Grand Colosseum and everything should work fine. I would bring over the title screen as well just to check if it worked successfully. Here's a caveat: This works for everything BUT the cutscene where Rui is initially taken out of the sack at the beginning. You will see her in the GC jacket for a split second, but once the cutscene ends and you go back to the overworld, she should look fine(that includes her model when she sees a Shadow Pokemon). I could not find a way to change the cutscene at the start, but for everything else it should work fine.1 point

Just as an update, there were not only 100 total winners for this Wobbuffet. There were 100 winners per Festa 2005 location, and there were 9 locations, so that's 900 winners from the drawing. And that's only for people who weren't users of NTT Flets. People who used NTT Flets were able to sign up and receive the Wobbuffet for free without having to be selected, and there's no known number for how many people downloaded it while being a user of NTT Flets, so the real number can be said as 900+. https://web.archive.org/web/20050717014402/http://www.pokemon-on-flets.jp/prw/event/sonans.html1 point

I'm sorry you're having issues! There's a couple of things that could be causing it: Did you make sure that your ROM is completely untouched? Make sure you haven't used any other patches on that ROM Make sure you didn't open that ROM in a ROM editor such as SkyTemple A good indication that this is the issue is if it says "Target Window Checksum Mismatch" Did you forget to put ".nds" at the end of the output file name? The Output file is "any" so you need to specifically put "EoS Remixed.nds" for it to work. A good indication that this is the issue is if it says "Patch successful" but you can't find the file. If neither of these are the issue, feel free to send screenshots to help me get a better understanding for what might be happening here. Also, here's a side note: When updating to a new version of my hack, you will always need handy a fresh ROM of EoS. In order to transfer your save to the new version, make sure the save file and the game file names are the same. I personally always name my game and save "EoS Remixed", which prevents any potential save loss you may otherwise encounter.1 point

Is there any chance of merging your mod with this patch? https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6141/ Basically a simple model swap to replace Rui with the Uncensored Japanese model. You already changed the textures on her model for the latest update, so I don't think this would be a big ask, especially if you offer it as an optional patch, like you did with the various region starter editions of the base mod.1 point

Oh sweet, thanks for showing me this! At the time of making the mod there were no dusk sprites in the sprite repository (only the portraits), but looking at the dates it looks like someone added them in last week. Will definitely look at bringing dusk form lycanroc into expanded sky as its next update1 point
-
oh i see! also i noticed it says lycanroc dusk form isnt avialable but doing a little search i think ive found it (https://sprites.pmdcollab.org/#/0745) just changing it from normal to dusk and it shows all the sprites. hopefully it gets added soon :' ) i love me my lycanroc dusk form (ah my mistake it says it isnt added into the mod yet not that its not available)1 point

Sorry, I was confused, due to the way it was phrased. This event cannot be shiny. No Celebi originating from Gen 3 could be legitimately shiny. Heck, there’s no legitimate shiny for Celebi all the way from Gen 3 to Gen 6. Hence why it was a big deal (during Gen 7’s time) that Virtual Console Crystal was released and could be connected to mainline games. (You can shiny hunt for Celebi in Crystal)1 point

For the most part. For some games, but especially starting from 3DS titles, swapping saves when there’s still story elements not done can mess with in-game event flags, causing the game to hang when you reach that point, or outright just stuck. Some examples I can think of off the top of my head are (not an exhaustive list): SM/USUM would have the wrong Ruin of Sunne/Moone on the 4th island, meaning you can’t evolve Cosmog and progress SM/USUM again related to the flute on exeggutor island. It breaks SWSH would show you the wrong exclusive gym building. Whenever a dialogue related to the wrong gym leader is called by the game, the game would hang/crash SWSH again, depending on when you saved, you’ll be unable to progress to Zacian/Zamazenta past the lift, or have the wrong doggo spawned it and have it freeze once battle starts. Yellow saves in Red/Blue could cause load you into a glitched map, causing you to be unable to move ORAS Primal Battle would cause weirdness I think, but I can’t remember for sure1 point

@ZoroCooKings_YT Reviews aren't places for you to ask questions, I'll be deleting it. If the mon is from Gen 2, don't transfer it to HOME. If the mon is from Gen 3, you can transfer it to HOME. PKHeX flags the PID and stuff cause the event isn't well documented, in regards to the generation algorithm and all, but since you know it's from the machine, it's good enough to be used. HOME doesn't care for the most part.1 point

@Steinn transfer moves from Bank aren’t retained when they are sent into BDSP, PLA, SV. They’re changed to regular moves. If you check the Pokémon under Bank View on HOME mobile, you’ll see the event moves. But those moves aren’t used by those games (unless they can learn it) Anyway, moves on a Pokémon doesn’t dictate its event status most of the time. Having regular moves replace event moves aren’t uncommon. It’s more alarming if it had an event move from a different event.1 point

Just come across this here, nice to be seeing the starters from each generation in, with the sprite work & the like looking like they were a part the game to being with. And as who knows when some might get updated, i do agree with what the other person said, and so long as you are able to do so, could put the final evolutions in for the lines that have them, but not the second in the line as of yet. Though might seem a bit odd to some to go from the first to third (that happens a times temporarily in SMD), could be perhaps done here when you are able to & whatnot. And'll keep an eye on this mod of yours, hope it'll work out well for you.1 point

This has to be my fav Explorers mod so far. Though I was wondering if it was possible to implement the evos for the starters with partially completed lines on the sprite repository for the time being until the odd evo out gets uploaded (i.e. Incineroar and Greninja having complete sprite sheets while their respective second evos are still blank)1 point

Hiiii, I have a lot of questions! Is there a way to mix-and-match the available starters? like if I wanted a few from midday version, plus a few from midnight version, could I add them to a single rom of the game, as long as the quantity of the starters doesn't exceed the maximum? Is there a way to switch which gender a starter is locked to? I understand that theyre genderlocked bc of space restrictions, but would I, for example, be able to change riolu from male-locked to female-locked? Have you added new overworld animations for when the starters have evolved? As in, all the cute lil animations present in the unevolved starters, where they do their victory pose after succeeding at sentry duty, or waking up in the morning. I'd be thrilled if I no longer had to deal with all the walking-in-place that replaces all the fun animations once you evolve. Not criticizing at all, I'm just really curious about the hack!1 point

This is starting to become the definitive Colosseum rom hack. So would you be willing to also incorporate changes from the "Pokemon Colosseum Restoration" pack as well? https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6141/ For some context, it adds in the changes to the US version that got changed from the Japanese release (title screen, outfits, etc)1 point
