[Announcement:] Several New Gen 3 Jirachi Events Found by me!!

@St. GIGA I can confirm both Meteor and Negaiboshi work on real hardware, the Negaiboshi distributes fine to a JPN copy of Pokemon Ruby and the Meteor distributes fine to an English copy of Pokemon Ruby. The ISO's load perfectly fine on more recent versions of Nintendont too.

It appears my problem was related to the Micro SD to SD Card adapter I was using (this has worked fine in my Wii for years!) the Wii ended up not reading the Micro SD card in the adapter, however my PC would read the Micro SD card fine. After Switching to a different Micro SD to SD adapter everything then worked fine.

After all that it appears I did produce a working ISO this morning too, I feel like I wasted so much time trying to figure out why it wasn't working now lol. Oh well, i'm glad this is finally working!

The useful format is the "RGB565"
Compressibility of the "RGBA8" is low. However, the loading becomes slow.
Compressibility of the "CMP" is too high. the loading becomes very fast.
Different compress format's TPLs are able to be mixed.

We are able to replace the TPLs with the any images

So I have to ask the question. Does anyone have an pictures from back when the event took place, showing the Jirachi being distributed at the movie? Or anyone actually attend it in person?

And the jirachi was actually given out at the movie theater itself? I thought there was some sort of postcard that you got when you attended the movie, and you took the postcard to a pokemon center or something to get the actual distribution?

No Jirachi was distributed at the Pokemon Centers

I see. Do we have any pictures of the actual distribution taking place? Like hoking up to what we believe to be a gamecube, going through what I assume would be some sort of selection screen, and reviving the jirachi?

 

Also guys, is there any evidence of being able to transfer data from the gamecube to the gameboy color for pokemon distributions?

Thanks for a photo. That's a shame. So there were only three pokemon centers at the time? So if it's not a demo disc, we are talking about something that is literally one of three? So I'll doubt we will ever have any hope of uncovering the original disc. If it resided on a variant of a demo disc, than we have a very high chance to find it in the future. I was hoping to maybe confirm if it was on a demo disc or not, or what else was on the disc.

I asked about the gamecube to gameboy color because we know of variants of demo discs from 2002. Mainly July 2002, and August 2002. But I don't think it could have been pokemon related stuff on there on this gamecube disc to distribute pokemon?

Gen3 Jirachi distribution was carried out in the Pokemon Festa 2003-2005, WHF18, All pokemon centors, Ito-Yokado, JUSCO, Toys "R" Us and HelloMac.

I was not able to see the distribution machine when I received Jirachi in the Ito-Yokado.

But, I discovered the distribution machine used in the WHF and PF.

Maybe they used a Dolphin Development Hardware. They seem to insert the cartridge in the 5.25 bay.

I think that the salesclerk of the Ito-Yokado, JUSCO, Toys "R" Us and HelloMac used GameCube disk, because I handed the cartridge inserted GBA to a salesclerk of the Ito-Yokado. Probably they were not able to operate the development machine.

Wow! Thank you very much @Lycp01! Very interesting images. 
I think we can definitely say that they didn't used a GC for these Distributions in 2005.
There are also a lot of reasons why they could have turned away from it... Even alone because it's way easier to do logistically.

Not sure about 2004, I was looking for Tanabata Jirachi 2004 but couldn't find anything.
And I really wonder about ANA Pikachu... I mean I don't think they would have used a monitor from the terminal for the distribution... lol

You can definitely forget about demo discs from 2002... I mean what do you believe to find on those?  
I think the only discs that would be interesting for us would be those from 2003-2005. But I don't have much hope that something could be hidden on them to be honest... Another big question would be also whether they used a GameCube for Events in 2004 and 2005 or only GBAs...
At least Festa Metang I know was distributed with a GBA SP and I think Hadou Mew as well.
So a part of me doubts that they still used Game Cube Discs at this point...

And if it's realistic to find something on these discs? I don't know... the thing is... it really made a lot sense in Berry Program Update's case because they printed special versions of these discs between December 2003 to April 2004, which actually included the Berry Program Update and those were rare but they were made public. That's why I came up with the idea in the first place and Nutter checked it out and then he found it. We got lucky, but it was not that surprising when you think of it.

Of course it's possible that Negaiboshi Jirachi was on a special version of a previous demo disc as well... just unlike the Berry Program Update non-public... and if it's true then there's a chance that files could be hidden away on these public releases or an alternate menu was used. But it must be said that this would be rather a disc from the summer of 2003, maybe July or August... I think these are discs we don't have.

Anyways... the only way to find out is to check these discs... better than speculating about it.  

Why do you think April 2004? From what I gathered it was Novemeber 2003 to March 2004. With photographic proof for Novemeber/December 2003, and JAN-MAR 2004.  You know of a April 2004 variant? I don't remember which, but I've seen proof of either Novemeber or December 2003. Can't remember which one. Common sense leads me to believe that it was for both though. So why April 2004?

Was an accident by me. I wrote this quick and must have thought one month ahead... it's a little bit confusing sometimes...

Btw. The issue of the next month is released one month previously... same like magazines.
For example the Issue January 2004 was released in December 2003... March 2004 was released in February 2004...
So speaking of confusion... I thought the issue we have was the first one? Was it really November 2003?
And did you mean the December 2003 issue by that, or really November 2003? Can't remember that...

oh ok just making sure, well we know that there's a variant of the november and december 2003 versions. As well as january, febuary, and march versions. I have the january, febuary, and march 2004 non variant versions. I confirmed that the berry fix is on the march version. My febuary version is still sealed, so I'm going to leave it that way. I guess we don't know about november and decmeber for sure. So who knows. Maybe it's on both november and december, but we don't know for sure at the moment. But yea, I guess I was wrong in assuming it was on the november and december one. If it's not on the november one, it would be interesting to know what the variant was for then.

No, it's totally fine. I think it's better if we get all sources together, just to sort our facts and then stuff like this won't happen again. I gotta admit that I can't exactly remember everything. I think you could be right. I think the first disc could be the November 2003 release, which would be the December 2003 issue... That's 1 year after RS was released and so it's the earliest possible time the bug occurred.

can we create a database of pokemon distributions that we have photos or videos of taking place and conclude which were GBA distributions and which were game cube distributions based off of the media that we have surrounding them? With a database like this we might be able to at least know which monthly demo discs MIGHT have distributions.
