Actually, because I had given Aphrodite Dry-Spicy poffins, I took her to two cool contests, won, and got the daily ribbon today to get my ten. ;] Yay for winning contests without any cool moves!

Also, it sucked, today I was out training (Well, collecting money, actually) and I hit a patch of wild grass that just so happened to be Mesprit...and without thinking, I ran...Ugh, I need repels.

I know how to find them and I'm sure okami does too. What I do is run from eterna city and the route before it over and over and over until its in the right place. Everytime you switch locations it does too..

Also I have a question...if its a previous evo move that's learned say at level 45 or something like that. So like this.

Breloom (oh so wonderful) cant learn spore unless it was learned by shroomish at some high level. If breloom was above the level shroomish learned spore could it be relearn the move via the tutor that you need heartscales for? I want my breloom to know spore but I dont want to train a shroomish (cringes) and I also would like to do this with flygon and the awesome move learned by trapinch at level 89. Seriously though...who makes a trapinch go all the way up to a level 89 when flygon is awesome. I'd like the awesome stat gains to be as early as possible so I dont want to get a trapinch all the way up that high and then evolve. Its...ugh. Did the reader understand..to clarify...

-I want a previous evolution learned move. (Ex. trapinch learns fissure at level 89 and I want flygon to know it. Can I train flygon all the way up to a level 100 or above 89 and then use the tutor in pastoria to relearn the move or is that impossible?)

-If it does work does it work for all pokemon?

Additionally..if a pokemon uses mind reader and then another pokemon after it that didn't use mind reader used a move like...sheer cold...would it be guarenteed to hit or does the pokemon using mind reader the only one effected. I'm talking about double battles here.

Please help!

ds wifi doesn't work so I cant otherwise I would...:( trust me...I despise it because my friend (best friend and the one who beats me at everything) uses it to get awesome pokes...really...so then he ends up with level 100s without training a lot while I'm stuck training till no end. :(

Edit:

???Do I have to breed to shroomish's that know spore to get a shroomish level 1 that knows spore? I want a breloom that knows it but I want to get the breloom at level 20 to maximize best stat gains.??? Any help would be appreciated.

Mikel, I do use the Marking Map (It's always on, as I'm always watching them) But I had been using the item finder at the time that Mesprit came up...hidden item hunting while money gathering. I found a tinymushroom while doing so, actually. :]

Has anyone found a way to clone pokemon on Platinum? Without the risk of buggering up the game?

I haven't tried the GTS Cloning as done in D/P. I don't know WHY it wouldn't work, since the GTS operates the same. But from what I've read on forums, it doesn't.

There is also the very risky cloning while trading tactic. It's basically what cloning was in Gen I except applied to today. If you disconnect at an exact moment during a Wi-Fi or Union Room trade, you'll both end up with a copy of each Pokemon.

The risks:

  • Both Pokemon may be lost
  • Only one Pokemon may get cloned, the other lost
  • One might be cloned, the other normally traded

I've had option #2 happen to be once during a disconnect in a Wi-Fi trade. I doubt the other guy was intentionally doing it, but it sure sucked to lose my Pokemon at the time.

My advice? Just do your GTS Cloning in D/P. If you really want to clone Pokemon efficiently and quickly, save up for an Action Replay or a flashcart (CycloDS recommended).

Does anyone have any tips to getting up to the battle tower master...Tycoon Palmer? Anyone? I was doing so good with my breloom, skuntank, and empoleon but the stupid electabuzz ruined everything. It was the 14th battle but I know I could've gone further because breloom was destroying everyone. So naturally with skuntank gone due to a previous poke I sent out breloom. I was thinking another sweep for my breloom So I used spore but electabuzz attacked first with...Psychic! What electabuzz knows psychic? Seriously! Ugh...so then bye bye breloom and in empoleon. Knowing that electric doesn't resist water all I could hope was that it foolishly used psychic...which it didn't....it killed my precious empoleon in one shot :(

That's not the first time I've been doing good but denied. Can anyone provide advice? I'd like to have my precious breloom on the team that wins..here is breloom's things...

[sprite]286[/sprite]

Breloom@poison orb

Ability: Poison heal

Role: Physical sweep (oh how he excels)

Trained in: Speed and attack (somehow he got defense stats way up too)

Moveset:

Spore

Seed bomb

Super power

Leech seed/ thunder punch (I'm working on getting thunder punch on it but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

Please help....

Electabuzz has higher base special attack than physical attack. So Psychic isn't a bad choice.

Anyway, if you want to sweep the first 21 battles, Starmie is your best bet:

Starmie w/ Wise Glasses

Modest (+sp atk, - atk)

252 sp atk/252 speed/6 HP

Natural Cure

- Surf

- Thunderbolt

- Ice Beam

- Grass Knot/Psychic/HP Fire

It's all pretty self explanatory right there. Grass Knot is recommended as the 4th slot because it's Starmie's best way of dealing with Swampert and other Ground/Water types you'll encounter. Psychic is decent as a secondary STAB. HP Fire is really the only HP Starmie can use, specifically for Scizor.

You can also take what is essentially this set and slap Choice Specs on there to make it even more powerful. The 4th slot now has the option of Trick, since the BT will never switch. It could get stuck on a set up move, or you can switch in something that resists or is immune to the attack.

Breloom is actually a pretty good partner for Starmie. Starmie covers Breloom's Fire, Ice, and Psychic weakness (and only takes neutral damage from Flying), and Breloom covers Starmie's Dark, Grass, and Electric weakness. It's not a perfect partnership, since between 3 Pokemon, you won't every Pokemon's weakness to be resisted by a partner, or a partner has an immunity. But for the first 21 battles, this'll do.

To round out your team, use everyone's favorite landshark. Like Starmie, it can take on most of the first 21 single handedly.

Garchomp w/ Choice Band

Adamant/Joly

Sand Veil

252 atk/252 speed/6 HP

- Outrage

- Earthquake

- Fire Fang

- Stone Edge/Aerial Ace/Toxic/Sleep Talk/Dragon Claw

Setting up in the BT is a huge waste of time, hence why I don't recommend the Swords Dance + Yache/Life Orb set.

Dragon + Fire + Ground hits everything in the game for at least neutral damage. It's got enough bulk with it's base stats to survive most neutral hits, covers Breloom's fire weakness, and it's ice weakness is covered by Starmie. With a unique Speed tier, not much of the first 21 will outrun it.

Outrage sets up for a sweep. Earthquake another amazing move, but don't use this if Chomp is your last Pokemon out, because if a levitator or flying type comes in, you're screwed.

Fire Fang is best on Adamant/Jolly. If you want to use Fire Blast, switch to a nature that doesn't hinder Special Attack.

The 4th slot can be used for a ton of stuff in the BT.

Stone Edge and Crunch can hit other things for SE, though 9/10 these are usually hit harder by STAB Outrage or STAB EQ.

Aerial Ace can knock around Double Team abusers.

Dragon Claw gives you STAB Dragon without being locked into Outrage.

Sleep Talk is useful for a one time use of sleep absorbtion. Not recommended if Starmie is around.

Thank you randomspott555..now I have to get my hands on a garchomp and a staryu to evolve into a starmie. The only question I have is um...what is HP fire?

Hidden Power. Don't worry about it too much. But if you happen to get it (some guy in the casino prize building will tell you what type it is, in Platinum), it's a nice bonus.

Having a fire type move on your side, although not a STAB attack, it can provide uses against grass and ice types and bug types. Some of these can be quite annoying for water types and a fire move can help.

Edit: Oops forgot something...

Should I teach my breloom thunderpunch? I'm hesitating because I love the move leech seed but I know it would be good to help cover his weakness towards flying types. Any comment?

Breloom is usually better off with Stone Edge, but if you hate its accuracy, or if Gyarados is a nuisance, then Thunderpunch is a good choice. I'm assuming this is Platinum, or else if it is the Emerald tutor, Breloom's forced to have her other ability Effect Spore, which isn't that useful unfortunately (Poison Heal is MUCH better).

I just go Substitute, Leech Seed, Focus Punch, and Spore. STAB Seed Bomb can go someplace here if desired.

This is in platinum and I think I'll go with thunder punch. If that's the case his moves would be...

Seed bomb

Spore

Super power

Thunder punch

Ability-poison heal

Item-toxic orb

That's why I'm not as concerned about leech seed. With the toxic orb he can heal himself already. Plus when poisoned it'll shield him from other status effects so he can basically go untouched.

Leech Seed + Toxic Orb = 25% recovery with 44 HP EVs. Superpower? Why not use Focus Punch? If you put something to sleep, they'll either switch out or stay asleep for that turn so Focus Punch can put a LOT of hurting (unless your luck is TERRIBLE like mine where people just HAPPEN to wake up after the first turn of sleep >_>)

I sometimes get lucky like that but focus punch...I'd rather have super power really. As for all that health..that's really hard to argue with but will breloom have time to spore + seed before he's knocked out? He's not really meant to set up..if he can then he can provide a pretty good sweep. My only reservation is that he's so weak against flying types. If I had to get rid of any move it would be leech seed. So what? Should I teach it to him...he's my most precious pokemon...well empoleon is more precious but...I just have to give him the right moves. I love my shiny drifblim but its just not as good as breloom at the moment. Anyways...what do you think? Should I teach it to him or not?

I really HAVE to show you how awesome Seed + Toxic Orb is. I've swept with Breloom twice with that aforementioned set I used.
