Hello everyone. :) So, I'm fairly new still to the idea of ROM editing and tried asking around on reddit for an answer to my current predicament. So, I wanna do a HeartGold Nuzlocke series after a failed FireRed Nuzlocke that ended in, well... the death of my team (and story-wise for a laugh my trainer). I wanted to change the teams of both Blue and Red to be similar (with adjustments) to both Blue's team from FireRed with some changes to suit my brother's personality (named it after his name on Twitch) and Red's team to be the "dream team that could have been", which I was able to accomplish using PPRE. I also wanted to change the name of Blue and Red to my original trainer's name and his rival's name from FR, but with PPRE that doesn't seem possible - or at least with the version I have. Is there a way to find an older version or another program that lets me change trainer names available? Or is there another way to safely edit the names of trainers? Also, if, by some chance, there's a way to give a trainer's Pokemon nicknames without changing all instances of a Pokemon's name to said nickname, how could I do that - or would that require creating a separate, unobtainable version of the respective Pokemon? Thank you for your time.

I had recently downloaded pokesav for black and white (i play black, if that helps) and i generated 5 pokemon in box 3 (hydreigon, haxorus, vaporeon, leavanny, zoroark) and had a samurott in my party, and use the code. cheren challenges me, i accept and none listen to me. all of them except samurott had my new name as ot and yes i am aware that at the current time only pokemon up to level 50 should obey me, but they're mine? H E L P EDIT: i forgot to mention i also changed my name from White to Touko.

Hello Researchers! Today I have discovered an exploit for Generation 3 that affects Pokemon Legality for RNG. The exploit can be done in 2 ways. One way is to take a save file with Japanese/Localized dual compatible names and nicknames from a Japanese Gen 3 game, flash it to an English cart, and then take any already-nicknamed Pokemon (pre-naming fixes a bug with bank compatibility for Japanese-exclusive Pokemon like mew) to the name rater to enjoy longer English names when kept on that same file. The more legit way is to RNG both region games to have a 5 to 1 digit cross region OT, with the same SID and TID, similar to using RNG to rename event Pokemon via OT RNG manipulation. The next step to do is Nickname the Japanese Pokemon, trade it over, and rename it on the English game with the cross region characters. Accent letters for Latin and Japanese will pose problems, along with RS copies with the nickname flag bug. Anyhow, this process obviously fails when trying to make longer Japanese nicknames. This means Nicknamed 3rd gen event Pokemon, Nicknamed Shiny Jirachi, Nicknamed Celebi, and Nicknamed In game events are possible now to RNG users. Hopefully this helps Legality checkers! Thanks, and have fun!

Hai all, I wanted to change my trainer's name, however, I went into problems... Here is what I did: 1. Deleted my game from Pokemon Global Link 2. Changed name using PKHex (extracted and put back with JKSM on cfw with A9HL) 3. Went to Festival to get my G-Sync ID and put it into Pokemon GL Problem: It shows my old name; it might ban me, so I cancelled.. Here is what I tried: 1. I changed the G-Sync ID in PKHex, but, when I tried it in PGL, it was invalid.. I also tried saving to PGL 2. Tried getting a new save file and changed everything to match up in PKHex (except the G-Sync id); the save game showed that I was still on route one, and, when I loaded it, it would show my actual position (changed my position using the map) without the player model and it would just soft lock... (I know I can replay the whole game and just transfer the pokemons, but that is boring...) 3. Took the save file with the name change and made two copies; one had the normal unedited G-Sync ID (this one is the original.zip in the attachment) and another one where the G-Sync ID is all 0 (as edited by PKHex) and found the values affected... those values I changed with the values of a blank save in the hex editor (edited.zip).. also over the pokemon in the GTS because it has my old name as OT... the problem: save file is corrupted. It is not because of secure value because JKSM does that automatically Basically what I want is a way to remove all data related to the Festival/G-Sync/Online connectivity so it would reset the G-Sync ID for my new name that I changed.. I want to do this on the original.zip. original.zip edited.zip
