About Me

Friend Code (Nintendo Switch)

Friend Code (3DS)

NNID (Wii U)

1. Hello everybody, I have a very big problem with my game now after using pkhex. The game loads in a black room instead of the battle maison. I only edited some pokemon stats. Is there a solution for this? I made a video of it. I did not backup my save so that is not an option. Can anyone help me out?
2. A Celebi and a Mew obtained through the famous glitches of Gen 2 and Gen 1 Virtual Console games can be transferred to 3DS games? If so, are they legal?
3. Fallen

Mew Glitch

The infamous Mew glitch. Well, infamous for Nintendo. Anyways, were you able to perform the glitch? I didn't for a while, I hadn't heard about it until I already had one that I cloned. How to obtain: Extended:
4. With Gold & Silver coming right up, I'll like to write up some useful glitches that everyone can use, for a slightly more fun-tastic experience! From our shared personal experiences, no glitches were removed from VC RGBY, so it'll likely be the same scenario. Using PC to Clone Pokemon [International and Japanese] This is one of the best glitches ever, somewhat the easiest to use, and earliest one can use! While the main intended effect is to clone your Pokemon, but it has a fun side effect: it reverts you to an earlier save state! Meaning, you can redo certain events, depending on how your plan your save points. [meaning, between the 1st save state and performing the glitch, you don't save anywhere in between] Example: 1. Collect all starters (1st save before getting starters from Elm, perform the glitch after depositing your initial starter) 2. Re-activate Roamers (1st save state before roamers, perform the glitch after catching all roamers) 3. Catch Multiple Stationary Pokemon (1st save state before encounter, perform glitch after capture) 4. Receive Eevee, and other gifts again (1st save state before receiving, perform glitch afterwards) Glitch steps: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Cloning_glitches#Box_change_method Party Merging Trick (Bug-Catching Contest Data Copy Glitch) [Japanese Only] This glitch is extremely useful, as you basically end up cloning a Pokemon, with the combination 2 Pokemon details. Looking from the perspective of your party, your New Pokemon will have the Species of the 2nd Pokemon, and the stats (including happiness, level, moves and shininess) from the 6th Pokemon, and it'll become stable if it [the 2nd Pokemon] can evolve. <it'll revert if placed in Daycare; as good as normal cloning> Meaning, if you have a Cyndaquil in the 2nd party slot, and your 6th slot is a Shiny Gyarados, you'll end up with a unstable Shiny Cyndaquil (in summary) and a Shiny Gyarados in battle. Once your Cyndaquil reaches evolution level, it'll evolve into a Stable Shiny Quilava (in and out of battle) You won't even need hard-to-find items for ACE glitches, and it can be done as early as you reach the National Park. (Or Lake of Rage, if you wanted to make your new pokemon a shiny) This may be considered slightly easier than standard cloning, if you're unable to hit the Turn Off Power timing. Steps: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Bug-Catching_Contest_data_copy_glitch Arbitrary Code Execution <aka ACE> (Coin Case Glitches) [International Only] Arbitrary Code Execution basically means using an exploit entry-point, you gain control of the game and get it to do what it wants, without external hardware (or even software) usage. However, in most scenarios ACE can only be properly executed in the late game, as you'll need to get all kinds of peculiar items for it to function. (If the item can only be found in Kanto, then tough luck. Of course there's trading, but what the requirement of the item is x99?) My favorite usage (with steps): 1. Turning a Shiny Gyarados to Species: Egg (ID. 253) 2. Change the Species of the Egg to what I want (example: Celebi ID. 251) 3. Hatch it (It becomes Shiny Celebi!) Changing a Pokemons Species: Changing to Shiny: Useful for those who want to convert a non-shiny to shiny Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NADKp7PI2XY Receiving any Pokemon: Getting it as a gift, not converting one. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0ZZ3rIL0vA Changing Level to 100, changing DVs to Perfect: Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEOOCpNTx88 //-----------------// I think these are all the useful glitches I can think of for now. Have fun~
5. So let me get this straight.. No fossil pokemon can be in a ball other than a pokeball?

15. Hello all, For those who do not know me, I studied under a video game development program in the early 2000's. While I did not end up pursuing development as a career, I still actively apply the knowledge to trying to understand what's under the hood of the franchise that first made me want to go into video game development: Pokémon. The Atmosphere CFW OS for CFW uses a built-in cheat app called Edizon which means every single CFW Switch owner with Atmosphere OS are forced to use it. The homebrew app Edizon does not allow for a manual ON/OFF of individual codes which means people interested in experimenting have to maintain their own database of codes and go through the hassle of deleting and re-adding codes to the .TXT file for the codes for the game on a FREQUENT basis. I would like to premise this thread with the following: I am not a code hunter. I simply want to share the compiled database of codes with insight so that the community can continue to better its understanding of the game's internal mechanics. For each of the individual variables which make up a Pokémon (in lamens: each of the individual fields you see in PKHeX), the module passes the data known/pre-determined elements to their respective space in MEMORY and for any blanks/missing elements those are calculated and stored into their respective space in MEMORY. The module does NOT know when Live RAM Encounter Edits (cheats) are active and as such will not attempt to correct any mistakes. For example: applying a Gender to a Genderless Pokémon. Sword & Shield makes it abondantly clear when huge mistakes are made but replacing the 2D sprite with a black PokéBall symbol. The module is used for all NPC Pokémon, Wild Pokémon, in-game gift Pokémon (including Fossil), and Eggs (obviously at time of receiving the egg.) This same module is used for Mystery Gift Pokémon as they are being received. Finally, this same module is used for all non-player Pokémon: both the NPC's Pokémon when less than four humans as well as the Raid Pokémon itself. (Note: due to checks between turns if any of the Pokémon in the Raid become abondantly illegal the Raid will crash 100% for the non-host and most of the time for the host.) Live RAM Encounter Edits (cheats) both can create LEGAL and ILLEGAL Pokémon. The use of Live RAM Encounter Edits (cheats) serves to bypass randomization to reduce the number of times you need to encounter the same Pokémon to get the desired result. It's the "whole infinite monkeys with typewriters" factor: with enough time you would get the desired result so this allows you to jump to that desired result. However, it's only the game breaking Live RAM Encounter Edits (cheats) which are highlighted a black PokéBall symbol. The game doesn't know which Hidden Abilities are LEGAL and which ones are ILLEGAL.
16. Been testing this for a while and figured that I should probably tell someone: Pkhex while editing the GameCube games garbles the Shadow Pokemon data and causes some really weird things to occur. Attached are the save file I edited and the backup, untouched (I used some action Replay but other than that it's pretty clean.) After editing, the Tyranitar and the Quagsire in my team reverted to shadow pokemon randomly, however the number of purified shadow Pokemon remained the same. Before Editing: After Editing, not touching either of these specific Pokemon: This has happened with my test of XD where I didn't even use Action Replay at all, where it glitches the shadow Pokemon list and causes some shadow pokemon when encountered to not register as a shadow making them impossible to catch as well as causing the gift togepi to not be a shadow upon obtaining it and have shadow moves while not being a shadow. While the glitches have been mildly amusing for me, I can see them being an annoyance for others. Hopefully it's just user error though! 01-GC6E-pokemon_colosseum.gci 01-GC6E-pokemon_colosseum_backup.gci
17. I was experiencing a certain bug when performing a certain series of actions. I wanted to increase the friendliness and affection of each and every Pokémon in my PC. Since I did not want to spend the time doing all of that, nor did I want to punish my hand muscles like that, I wrote a Python script that uses PyAutoGUI (shown below). This is pretty much a way to tell the computer to control its own mouse and keyboard, and you can tell it exactly where to press when and what to press or type. I watched as it, for an entire PC box, did what I wanted: It right-clicked, selected "View", clicked on the "Memories" button, double-clicked the Friendship text box, typed 2-5-5, double-clicked the Affection text box, typed 2-5-5, right-clicked on the original Pokémon again, and selected to "Set", and then it moved on to the next one. I then trusted that it would do this for all of the boxes that I told it to, which took approximately an hour. When I came back to my computer, to my dismay, it reached the end, but the changes were somehow reverted. I feel like this is a glitch on the part of PKHeX. I just thought that I should report this, so that I could receive a solution or bugfix to this issue. Please respond soon if you know what is going on. Here is the script from before. Basically, pyautogui.click(x, y) just tells the thing to click in that location and doubleClick(x, y) tells it to double-click in that area, while pyautogui.press('2') or pyautogui.press('5') told it to press one of these two buttons, in case you were wondering how this worked: import pyautogui import time time.sleep(5) for b in range(1, 31): pyautogui.click(1095, 193) for yy in range(0, 5): for xx in range(0, 6): pointx = 913 + (40 * xx) pointy = 232 + (31 * yy) pyautogui.click(x=pointx, y=pointy, button='right') pyautogui.click(x=pointx+40, y=pointy+15) pyautogui.click(x=759, y=433) pyautogui.doubleClick(x=793, y=220) pyautogui.press('2') pyautogui.press('5') pyautogui.press('5') pyautogui.doubleClick(x=935, y=220) pyautogui.press('2') pyautogui.press('5') pyautogui.press('5') pyautogui.click(x=1016, y=430) pyautogui.click(x=pointx, y=pointy, button='right') pyautogui.click(x=pointx+40, y=pointy+35)
18. I've been doing some text editing with SDSME's text editor and I've noticed some strange glitches in my ROM which make the game sorta unplayable. All I've done is use SDSME to edit text, nothing else. The text I've changed is in some cases larger than what I've replaced but as far as I am aware this should cause no issue. Does anybody know what could have caused these problems? It may have been that the ROM I was editing was bugged in the first place, or this is because I'm using Soul Silver instead of Heart Gold. Regardless I'm probably going to restart on a different ROM anyway, but I want to make sure I don't make the same mistakes again. These were the most common errors. Entire segments of the overworld would outright disappear, and most warps would break when this happened. The menu graphics are also bugged in some cases. Occasionally the game would freeze at this point in battles with the Pokeballs spinning indefinitely. I've also had the game freeze at the event with the Kimono Girl in Violet City, but I didn't get a screenshot of that. The menu graphics were bugged there too. None of the areas where this happened were areas where I had edited the text, and they did not happen consistently, although they happened far too often for the ROM to be playable.
19. So I had the idea to make a Pokemon FR hack, so I downloaded advance map, text etc... But I came across a problem. I was about halfway done on editing the wild pokemon data, overworld etc... and I decided to save it and run it on VBA. It started out fine, with prof. Oak explaining his stuff but when the game started and my character shrunk down, I found myself in the Celadon battle/trading place... And I couldn't leave. Every time I try running it it just does the same thing. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't patched it yet, or if I made a mistake in AM or anything, but I can't fix it. Help?? 20. Was just playing around, and changing to my box 10 prompted this message: What my box 10 looks like in Pkhex (I compiled the latest one from your github) VS on emulator: My box 10 actually contains 2 normal eggs, 1 shiny gyarados, and 4 Eggs named "gyarados", that were actually a shiny gyarados that was transformed into Eggs via Arbitrary code execution ( )so at this point, the 4 eggs are probably species: Egg, so that I can then change their species to whatever I want and hatch whatever shiny I want (species ID is 0xFD, obtained from http://glitchcity.info/biglist.htm) While technically not a naturally occurring glitch, I imagine that via cloning and obtaining bad eggs, these may occur, so at least treating 252 - 255 as bad eggs may help with handling them in the program.
21. Video courtesy of Wooggle Smith, showcasing the Facade glitch : Every time Facade is used, the sprite of the Pokémon who used the move will go up (or down for some Pokémon) by 1 pixel. To fix that graphical oversight: _Go to narc wazaeffect/we.arc (DPPt) or a/0/1/0 (HGSS) _Go to file 263 (which is the index number of the move Facade) _Replace all 6 instances of 05 00 05 00 with 04 00 04 00 But that's not all, there's also a glitch with the move Strength which moves the sprite of the Pokémon who used it by 2 pixels to the right. Again to fix this: _Go to narc wazaeffect/we.arc (DPPt) or a/0/1/0 (HGSS) _Go to file 70 (index number of Strength) _Search for the string 0A000000 05000000 16000000 87070000 8BFFFFFF, and replace the 0A000000 with 08000000. And that's it, Pokémon sprites won't erroneously shift up/down/right anymore after applying those 2 simple mods.
22. I legit found a CT100 in-game, but PKHeX using the last build keeps deleting it. Another glitch, on Mimikyu alternate's sprite: And impossile to make an hatched egg (Not a valid encounter): I know it's an very hourly build, but well, why not report them anyways.
23. Every wild pokemon I got, which I modify. Their origin seed have the (x). But not for my other pokemon in static encounter such as gift pokemon (lapras, eevee, bulbasaur), legendary bird and mewtwo, pokemon from celadon game corner, and fossils. What is that (x), how can I remove it?
24. I'm not sure what happen, simply can not access Cinnabar Island, my character freeze and I can't do anything, like access menu or something else, but is not a completly freeze because a female NPC walking in my direction like a ghost, in looping... Is there anyway to fix my sav.? Because this sav. is the same I am using in my 3DS at Pokemon Yellow Virtual Console Just reset the game don't fix, whenever way I try to access Cinnabar happens, everytime the game freeze... If someone know what happened, please help me fix it, I'll be very grateful. I recorded a video to show the Glitch: Note : The only thing I did differently was to Common is use PIKASAV to Change IVs of some of My Pokémon and multiply Some Items and I make Mew Glitch in Cerulean too, just to capture Mew
