  1. Do you still have your original sav.dat? Also, which file did you insert into which game? GS save isn't the same as C save, so telling me "Gen 2 VC" isn't enough. I need to make sure you matched the right save and right game. In any case, whenever you need help, you gotta be more specific. I can't read your mind
  2. Let's see. Last reply by OP to this thread: 2017 OP last visited the site in general: 2018 I'm gonna assume this project is dead. If OP wants to put work into it and revive this project, PM me, and I'll unlock the thread :3
  3. Add it to your exclusions or something. Google how to do that. Also don't keep bumping old threads with the same issue. If no one replies here, then it's not likely anyone will reply elsewhere too.
  4. we don't work for Pokebank/HOME, we wouldn't know. We for the most part as long as you're not dealing with some kinda of weird edge case, PKHeX should have it correct :3
  5. PKHeX usually has strict checks, but some things can fall through. For the most part, yes, if PKHeX says legal, they are legal.
  6. Just to be clear, what versions of windows are you on? Also, right click and properties, mind showing what it says?
  7. check
  8. as mentioned above, try adding it to your exclusions.
  9. legit? no. Legal? potentially. To be legit, a mon and the save must have gone through no external hardware or modified hardware. If you can extract your save, then it stops being legit at that moment. Though, many others will disagree because they personally "think" that as long as it is not modified, it is fine. So your call.
  10. IIRC, those events likely would have data that can be distinguished from VC data. Maybe an event location, which no VC event has, (affects Gen 2 events) or a move, that no VC event has, (affects either game) or an OT, that no VC has had. (primarily affects Mew) Read what I said about it being legal because they can't be distinguished. Now reverse that saying: that also means that if there was a reason that they could be distinguished, they'll be illegal. Can't remember off the top of my head, so just assume no retail cart event. They all have one thing or another that is different from VC gen 1/2. Importantly, VC gen 1/2 has almost nothing different from the retail games. Heck, the base games they run off, are exactly the same. The only difference is extra game code running on top of them (changing Jynx's colour, wireless trading, etc) With that in mind, think of it this way: if events were exactly the same as encounters that retail cart could obtain innately, would anyone get them? In any case, when it was warned that events for retails are not legal for VC, those factors were taken into consideration, and thus if warned about their illegal then they are indeed not legal. Don't need to think too much about it it you cannot comprehend why. I've already explained when makes them legal or not. If you can't understand it, then all you gotta do is accept it
  11. The process is less than legal, but the data would look legal either way. Without the mon going through Stadium or receiving a cart event, you can't distinguish between the two.
  12. Based on your reply, I feel like you may be thinking they're shiny hunting illegal stuff, hence it can't get sent to HOME via VC. This is the blurb the user said relating to shiny hunting: The user didn't say they're shiny hunting illegal stuff (presumably shiny hunting in-game stuff). And in context to your question, it becomes why shiny hunting in gen 2 is much more preferably over gen 3 and the answer was given to you was as follows: So in essence, the response you got says Shiny hunting in-game mons in gen 2 may yield a higher shiny chance, if you plan the DVs that will be passed down from Ditto right. If the user originally was talking about shiny hunting in-game stuff, then I don't think you did XD
  13. Yeah, using the stable release, I have similar issues too. We just gotta wait and see.
  14. Timeframe? No one knows, just wait. Developer build may break your save, keep a safe backup. Preferably wait for the stable build..
  15. @PkHexBoi besides Mew (obviously illegal, you probably used the Trainer Fly Glitch or something), Wait for the next version of PKHeX. This screenshot is taken from a developer version. (Ahead of existing stable release you're using)
  16. that is right tho? You're pointing an error at it, but I don't see the issue? Try dragging the file onto PKHeX, and it'll load right? Did you even try it first? If it works, just rename it to main and load it into your game..
  17. can have them for your playthrough. You can use them wherever you want; a Pokemon does not have to be legal to be in a save. Just know, if it's not on a retail cart, or by extension Stadium, it's illegal. (and if on a VC save, probably cannot be transferred up, as in Transporter would reject it.) While having illegal mons on lower gens *probably* don't matter, having illegal mons detected on Bank or HOME probably is a problem.
  18. you can use them your journey. Not everything has to be transferred to the future. It's like people playing with Spiky Eared Pichu in HGSS. Or Cosplay Pikachu in ORAS. Neither of those can be transferred up >< Also your question said "SAV files" in the title, but it looks like you're talking about event files.
  19. Like I said, we don't work for Gamefreak. We don't know for sure what will or will not be flagged in their system. Regardless if you are loading directly into SWSH save, or into SMUSUM save, if it is legal in PKHeX, then it is legal. A Bank to HOME transfer *may* be needed, but we don't know if they log it, so whether it's necessary. There's only so many ways that I can say this: it is up to you. If you ask the same question one more time..
  20. Why couldn’t you just continue in the same thread? Haven’t you already asked this before?
  21. I can understand maybe you're new to this and uncertain, but there really isn't a need to ask everything. Not when you can perform trial and error. Just load up the mon in the SWSH save, and if it's legal, it's legal. No need to worry so much about it. Tho, if it's pre-SWSH caught mons, not transferring via Bank would mean no proper transfer attached to the HOME ID generated on their end. Presently, we don't know if that matters. Ultimately I've said what I've said. It's not like we work for Gamefreak. All we know is whether stuff is legal or not, for the most stuff. The rest is really your prerogative.
  22. Dates don't matter. IRRC the NDS, 3DS, Switch can be set to any plausible date, and the event redemption follows that date. (Well I'll like more conclusive tests for Switch events but there isn't a free one right now). So take it as you will. It's up to you.
  23. Not realistically at this moment, no.
  24. Besides games restricting mons with HM moves being transferred, and SWSH restricting usage of some moves, any mon with legal moves can be transferred up. As long as they are flagged legal in PKHeX in SWSH, should be fine.
