  1. I speculate: Perhaps all their event carts are locked down, so an employee can't tamper with it, with the purpose of dumping the rom. Also, there is likely a system that keeps track of every employee that was in-charge of the device (sign-in sheets probably), and if so, they'll know who stole the device, and force the information out of the employee (if sold off). Even if it was stolen from the employee, I would imagine the market for such items aren't public, and any collector there whom purchased it would probably try to keep it private and in "mint condition". (Any public sales may lead to ninty tracking it down and repossessing it) Furthermore, I think the employee involved in this would get fired, and potentially end up unhire-able, so it's simply not worth the risk. (additionally, the units distributing birthday Pokemon in Jp right now, are cable-chain locked to the desk, if I'm not mistaken. I would imagine such safeguards are a thing in Japan)

  2. @StarsMmd Wow, I can't express my gratitude for how much effort you put into making one of my absolute favorite childhood games as amazing as you did- I may not have mentioned it in my first post, but this is seriously the type of ROM hack I desired for years that I never thought would actually come to fruition- thank you again! Additionally, I greatly appreciate the time and effort you take to respond to people's comments on here- most ROM hack threads I see lose creator involvement after a few months, so I'm pleasantly surprised to see that you're still working to make this hack even better despite how much work you've already put into it! Thank you for letting me know which Pokemon have been removed- I've removed them from my table. Were this game not specifically designed to team build exclusively for double-battles, I'd say making the Colosseums single battles is pretty cool, but since I often use them to both train and grind for money, a lot of my Pokemon are kind of garbage in single-battle format; Orre Colosseum in particular being the "Competitive Pokemon"/Battle Tower-esk Colosseum doesn't make much sense as a Single Battle Colosseum since you're spending the entire game refining a team specifically designed for Doubles. I'd like Realgam to stay Singles though; the point of Realgam is that it's an escape from the main game and offers things like Battle Bingo and Battle CDs to break from the game's monotony, so offering single battles there certainly helps it fulfill that role of being unique, especially while you're still working on Bingo and the CDs. Finally, I meant to ask this question quite a while ago but forgot to do so- is there any way to lower EVs in this game? Such as EV-lowering berries or an EV-resetting NPC? I find myself uncomfortable using non-renewable Pokemon in this game (virtually anything that can't be caught at a PokeSpot) or using my Shadow Pokemon after purification (because I'm pretty sure shadow Pokemon don't accumilate EVs, just experience points, but please correct me if I'm wrong) because I don't want to mess up their EV spreads, especially if they have good natures. In fact, I generally only use Shadow Pokemon if their natures are garbage because I don't care about their EV spreads at that point. Otherwise, my team generally consists of poor-natured PokeSpot encounters, which still makes for an entertaining gameplay experience, but there are some awesome Pokemon I'd like to use without the fear of accidentally making them nearly unusable for something like the Orre Colosseum down the road. There's more I could say about potential mechanical errors, but this post is already running quite long and they're all pretty minor. Let me know if you'd like me to compile a log of potential errors I find when playing through the most recent patch and I can send you a word document outlining them if you'd like; if not, I simply appreciate you giving us such an amazing game!

  3. My personal version works for both, not sure what I made this version do. (I hacked it together < an hour). I suppose I can double check and add support for regular sun/moon if it is not in there currently.

  4. There's no Japanese Aura Mew, but I'm sure you just mistyped that. They probably got leaked through Nintendo employees. The distribution devices were likely pretty much always in possession of the event team handling the distributions. I don't think theft from the distribution locations was a possibility until the mass produced carts appeared during Gen IV and V. Because by then any random GameStop, etc employee could take it when the event was over.

  5. Agreed. You must also consider, that the distributions that are pokemon center only, I think there's like what currently 11 pokemon centers in japan, so assuming one distribution device/cartridge per store (what's the need for more for wireless distributions, than that would mean only 11 of those devices ever being created, ever, chances are essentially zero of leaking, would be very easy to see who didn't return the cartridge. I doubt we'll ever see a japan distribution cartridge/device. I also heard that crime is very low in japan, as a cultural thing It makes me wonder how the Japanese aura mew distribution and 10 ANNIV cartridge got leaked

  6. They unfortunately stopped the service in 2015-2016 sometime. I had some friends that did a semester in Italy and probably got some of the last cartridges sent in before they ended the program. Also, somewhat related, has anyone else noticed how few demos/distro cart style things get leaked from Japan? I feel like Nintendo of Japan's culture makes leaking things of that nature almost unheard of.

  7. It wasn't mail-in in 2005 during the original events. It's just that Nintendo of Italy continued to provide a service on their website up until a few years ago (or still?) for players to mail them their carts. That's how we had all the wondercards dumped a few years ago. But regardless the cart/rom could have leaked just like any other cart, originating through employees themselves.

  9. Basically means that he got it working, and will be available for use during the next major update. If you're impatient, you can compile it and run it (if you know how to do that), else you gotta wait

  11. My response has to be in a spoiler below, cause my reply is huge. With everything I've shown and said, it's probably enough for you to reach a conclusion, right? XD
