Hello everyone. I have created a companion tool for use with Dolphin to make using Pokemon Box: Ruby and Sapphire easier. What does this program do? It solves two problems. In order for Dolphin to use your gba save file, the save file must be renamed with -2 at the end of it. The save file must also be in the same location as your rom file, which isn't always convenient. With this tool you simply drop your save file onto the program, drag and drop the image of the pokemon cartridge to your Dolphin's mGBA window, and your save file will automatically load into Dolphin/Pokemon Box. When you are done with Pokemon Box you can choose to update your original save by clicking finish. If you wish to keep your save file unaltered (clone your pokemon) simply exit the program without updating your original save file. In order for the program to work you must have the generations 3 pokemon games already downloaded. This program does not provide roms or isos. You must also do some setting up in Dolphin beforehand. What's behind the hood? When you drop your save file into PBEST, it creates a temporary .sav file with the correct name scheme dolphin looks for. This temporary save is placed in the roms folder. When you're finished, your original save file is updated, keeping it's original name and location. This program saves time by not having to manually edit sav files and placing them in the right locations. You also have the added bonus of launching Pokemon Box directly from this program. This program works with .sav and .srm files. When a save file is dropped into PBEST it is automatically backed up in a folder of your choosing with a date and timestamp in the title. This process is done right when you drop the file in. So if any shenanigans and tom foolery occurs with your save fille, you have a permanent backup that is created right away. The linked youtube video is a small demo. I have not released this tool yet, as there is still some testing to be done, but it is 90% there. Any ideas or feedback to improve the program is greatly appreciated.

I'm using a Pokemon Red save file. PKHeX Says it's legal in Yellow, but not in Red and Blue. Inconsistencies like this... EDIT: it's happening to me. I need to update. These are the following facts: A level 13 Venonat can be caught on Route 24 in Yellow. Venonat can be traded for CRINKLES the Tangela in Red and Blue. Alternatively, Tangela can be bred in Gold and Silver. Tangela can be traded for SPIKE the Parasect in Yellow. A level 15 Slowbro can be caught on Route 12 in Yellow. Slowbro can be traded for MARC the Lickitung in Red and Blue. Alternatively, Lickitung can be bred in Gold and Silver. Lickitung can be traded for GURIO the Dugtrio in Yellow. A level 15 Growlithe can be caught on Route 8 in Red. Growlithe can be traded for CEZANNE the Dewgong in Yellow. A level 3 Pikachu can be caught in the Viridian Forest in Red and Blue. Pikachu evolves into Raichu with a Thunder Stone. Raichu can be traded for DORIS the Electrode in Red and Blue. A level 15 Golduck can be caught on Route 6 in Yellow. Golduck can be traded for BUFFY the Rhydon in Yellow. A level 15 Poliwhirl can be caught on Route 22 in Yellow. Poliwhirl can be traded for LOLA the Jynx in Red and Blue. How is a level 3 Electrode name DORIS invalid if you can catch a Pikachu at the SAME LEVEL in the SAME GAME?

i encountered this exact bug today, version 25.12.02, several random pokemon had their height data deleted in game but showed in pkhex

@AnneVM the bad news is there seems to be a lot of corruption in the save. When opened it in a hex editor there are large chunks were the data is just repeating values where there should be data, and trying to fix that manually is currently beyond my current understanding for gen 3 save file. The good news I was able to extract about 70 Pokémon from the file. I'm not sure if that is all of the Pokémon since the tool I used wasn't designed with Pokémon extraction from save files in mind. If there are important ones missing let me know and I can take another look. I've sent you them in a private message.

Hello, Is it possible to change the time of day on a Pokemon Legends Z-A save file? For context, I don't have enough time left on my current save (end of the night) to capture a shiny Pumpkaboo.

Whenever i make a save file with MelonDS and try to open it in pkhex its says its too large, how come it works with Desmume and now MelonDS?

My childhood file of 700+ hours just decided to corrupt itself during a link trade. I do not know what happened, but suddenly I got a message saying the file is erased and corrupted.. This game I played while my waiting with my mom in the hospital during chemo therapy, and I have so many memories on this file. I recently caught a Shiny mew on a different copy and traded it to my main file for ribbon collection. However, now all seems gone and hopeless. I really hope there is someone kind enough to help me to fix the savefile and bring back the memories.. Forever grateful for whoever can help out.. POKEMON_EMER_BPEE00.sav

SPIKE the Parasect seems to be an internal trade in Pokémon Yellow, where you can exchange a Tangela against a Parasect with the nickname SPIKE on Route 18; As such, it would have to be with a level 5~25 Tangela if bred in GSC.

What game you looking at? What game was the parsecs hatched in? Is SPIKE the move (it sounded like a nickname)

SPIKE the Parasect is inadvertently ruled invalid at below level 25 despite Tangela being breedable.

After a freak emulatr accident(Damn you MelonDS). I lost my main save file from just after beating Clay(5th gym)9, and it put me back to after I unlocked Pokestar Studios which is like losing 10 hours of progress, not to mention my precious pokemons. Devastated, and heartbroken.. I'm now here asking for help. Can someone give me a save file that's right after Clay, or hell I'll take after the 4th gym leader even. I just.. don't really want to start all over again. I could also provide my save file, and maybe someone can edit the flags to where I was? I understand that's a lot of work, and I hate to make someone do that, but I'm genuinely devastated that I lost my save. It'd really make my day if someone could make this for me. I’m not super sure, but go through the settings, I think you can change PKHeX’s default trainer details. Then restart the app, use encounter database

Probably isn't safe to change ranked match counts when GameFreak's servers could know you didn't actually do them. Can't you connect online and do them yourself? These stats are editable in the Event Flag editor.

Has anyone figured out how to modify titles in Legends ZA using PKHeX? Is it even possible? For example, the titles we have to play ranked matches to obtain — I just want to make a truly 100% complete save.

While we couldn’t help with Rom hacking, we did try to help: 1) gave you one of the names I’ve heard of in recent times (meaning still active) 2) we even found something that would help in our personal downtime (couldn’t send it cause you left Discord in such a hurry) 3) provided valid factors to explain why this endeavour in current times won’t be easy Tried to remain calm while your language was, let’s say, colourful, from the get-go. In any case, since you’re no longer interested I’m locking this thread, and keeping it up for posterity edit: Before I start, let me just say that you’ve put in effort into your solo build, persevering as long as you have, no one can take that away from you. As someone who didn’t know programming and ended up with silly mini plugins, letting you know I see you. Now, last word of advice, please don’t take this the wrong way, this is a honest hand-to-heart advice. It sounds like you’re unknowingly modelling your behaviour off people who asked previously asked you for favours, who maybe even raised you. Having that behaviour is not a good way to live. No matter how they insisted, how they treated you, that is not the way to ask for things, and not the way you should see things, too. Maybe start with a friend that will set you right, and perhaps escalate to a psychiatrist if it does not get better. Please take some time off the toxic internet, and focus on yourself. Take care.
