  1. Hey fm360, if I install this port of PKHex will it also install Wine? I'm asking because I'm concerned about the safety of my computer. I don't want to potentially put at risk my Mac with (dormant) Windows viruses on my system or incoming threats. It's a silly question, but I kind of need to ask. I'm not well versed in this kind of stuff.
  2. Nevermind the grand debate of whether RNG’ing is cheating or not. The point of this post was to know whether it would be possible to view the RNG state with spider3DSTools. It’s a fully legitimate question and I’ve actually been wondering the exact same thing ever since the new web browser exploit was released. By the looks of it, I assume it should be possible (given that the people-with-the-know-how would want to put the time and effort to work on it). However, don’t take my word for it. I’m no authority on the matter. I, for one, am genuinely interested in the prospects of RNG’ing in Gen VI, if only for the sake of research. I mean why the hell not at this point? If they can pull this one off too I will be utterly amazed.
  3. I'm curious, by what means do you expect we will be able to determine (in-game) the state of the RNG and the current initial seed?
  4. While what Kaphotics is saying is true to the best of my understanding, we may not need at all the initial seed. In this case it's an LCRNG. Even if the seed is generated by the AES MAC as Kaphotics says, it's still theoretically possible to find the current RNG state with enough known inputs. However, I was told that attempting to do so by doing a brute-force search, for instance, using the values of the Pokemon animations on the stat screen would be extremely difficult and take months to do. People have actually tried it and failed, or rather their means to do so failed them... Nevertheless, even if we could easily find the RNG state, there is no saying that it would be possible to yield desired results. Just the same, I'd like to hear what OmegaDonut and Slashmolder have to say about this now. A lot of progress has been made since the games have been decrypted and dumped. Those people who have access to the code surely know what would be the best way to look into this although they may quite understandably be reluctant to do so. Who knows, there might be shortcuts we are not aware of which would make the search quicker. GameSync data? Wifi packets? I dunno. I'm still optimistic about this although the picture admittedly does seems pretty bleak. As I was told countless times: "it will probably never happen". Anyway at this point, with the games decrypted, dumped and datamined there doesn't seem to be much constructive things left to do. Perhaps those with the "know how" will look into the possibilities of RNG'ing in Gen VI again? Or, maybe they simply won't...? : L
  5. Did you even read what I wrote and check the link I posted? Seems pretty clear why Pokecheck is in the state it is now. Also, who ever said they didn't care? These things take time to do. People are busy and have lives you know. I was told by Bond697 about a month ago that "some work had apparently been done" and that Pokecheck is not dead. But I don't feel comfortable talking about it since to be honest I'm no authority on the subject and I haven't the faintest clue exactly what has been done. Hence, to avoid saying something wrong, spreading false hopes or quite possibly vexing someone, I will refrain from speaking any further about this. Whether Pokecheck will ever come back or not is up to them ultimately, but it seems likely that it will at some point in some form. But take that with a grain of salt. If you guys want to know more about it, why don't you ask them yourselves?
  6. Mine brethren, do not utter such foul words, thy words are blasphemy!! Have ye not any faith in our Lord, he who can see the hearts of Pokemon, he who knows which are the spawn of the Devil and which are the legit children of God, born of true holy parents? Have ye not any hope comrades that the one true God shall return? Mine brethren, I tell ye this now, he shall return, he who can see through every pokemon’s heart, its PID, IVs, Nature, OT, Hatched/Met location, happiness level, and even the SID! Oh the SID! The writing will be bloody red if it is evil! And all shall know the Truth! They come, those who will bring back the Truth! There is hope!
  7. Based on the OR/AS Demo sound listing which can be found on SciresM's pastebin http://pastebin.com/NgJ4vPZh it seems like the Safari Zone might make a return. If you scroll down the list, you will see there is a track labelled STRM_BGM_SAFARI. While this does not by any means confirm 100% that the Safari Zone will return in ORAS, it does make it seem very likely.
  8. I kind of agree with you on that one. It's really too bad. One can only hope that if they ever get to releasing Gen VI support they will also reintegrate some (probably very limited) form of support for previous Gen games. Only time will tell. You got to remember though it's not like they got paid or anything for making Pokecheck. They did this out of their own free generous time and therefore, there is absolutely nothing forcing them to continue support for previous or forth coming generations of games. They owe us nothing in other words and we should be happy we even got to use such a service to begin with. It was a good thing while it lasted and I very much appreciate all the hard work that came into making such a thing even possible in the first place.
  9. Indeed, I somehow was certain it had been posted a few hours ago by Eeba. Must have hallucinated it... weird.
  10. And how exactly are you planning on getting that trade done with Nintendo wifi being discontinued for the DS and Wii?
  11. Well, Bond and Xfr are apparently planning on working on Gen VI support for the next Pokecheck although I don't think they have gotten to it yet. From what I gather the thing is apparently do able. See for yourselves, on Bond's twitter: https://twitter.com/Bond697/status/507176437645074432 Well it's not like it was their decision in the first place to take it down. They kind of had too because Nintendo discontinued wifi support for the DS which in turn meant, to make a long story short, that Pokecheck wouldn't function anymore.
  12. There is no way that thing is gonna make it through the GTS or Pokebank and this no matter how bad Game Freak's hack checks are. Although little information is known about it at the time speaking, the Bad Egg would appear to be some kind of "error manager" as in previous Gen games. What can cause it remains a mystery as far as I'm aware. Like spreading the Bad Egg online for the sake of pure evil? Haha just kidding! Surely those are not your intentions.
  13. Uhm no. The shoutout box was disabled way before the WiFi services had been terminated. I believe the Mods disabled it because they had gotten fed up with people constantly asking them, amongst other things, about Gen VI support. Also there seems to have been a greater influx of people on Pokecheck a few months back before the shoutout box was closed when XY were released. I figure this must have made modding the chat constantly more difficult and played a role in their decision to close it.
  14. I totally agree. I for one, really appreciate his work. While others seem to have entirely given up doing research on Gen VI, he quite on the contrary, is still working hard at it.
  15. I believe code execution is your only option at this point, and only a handful of people at the present are able to do it. I guess you're a little out of luck on that one. But worry not! As I'm positive there will be an event distribution for these mega stones in the near future. Oh btw, Mega Latios/Latias are banned from all wifi battles and trades.
  16. It's a way of telling you that "some kind" of Gen VI support is indeed coming without giving you too much detail as to what it will actually be. Very typical of them hahaaa! Their lips are sealed for a good reason though. Anyway from what I was told a while ago, they are planing to launch Battle Video support. I was also told that "more is planned" for the future, whatever that means. They might just be trolling us at this point, I wouldn't blame them for it though lol. So why don't you tell us Kaphotics? Heh, I'm pretty sure you won't but it's worth asking!
  17. Thanks! You answered my question. Is there anywhere online where I can find a summary of the actual data contained in a PKM file as well as info on the uploading process? I'm aware that you may be wanting to keep that information hidden. I'll understand if you don't want to tell me anything about it.

    PKHeX Legacy Discussion

Well does anyone know? As kjgungeon just said, I assume that Pokecheck's 6th gen update will do the trick when it comes. The Pokecheck website says "We are planning to launch gen 6 support by the end of the month". However I'm not sure whether this really means complete support as in uploading/downloading pokemon and not simply just uploading battle videos. Does anybody know what's going on with Pokecheck and what kind of support they are planning to offer? P.S.: For the record, I don't approve of editing or generating pokemon for competitive use online. However I'm interested in the process of editing/generating pokemon for the sake of what it can reveal to us about the game (hence why I am here in the first place).
  19. Apart from the addition of a ribbon, is there anything in the internal data of a pkm file that changes when it is uploaded to Pokecheck and then sent back to the game? In other words, does the data change in any way from the time it is initially in the game, uploaded to Pokecheck and then sent back? Do the bytes change at all? Is there data lost in the process? I’m asking because I’m concerned of getting errors on my pkm files and possibly, on the long term, corrupting my save data on my 300 hours of play. Is Pokecheck a 100% accurate in terms of reproducing and copying the game data? I need an honest answer from someone who actually knows. I’m hoping some of the Pokecheck developpers here will answer me. Thanks in advance! P.S.: I’m new on this site, but I’ve been lurking around here for a while! So sorry for any noobishness on my part.
