As for the actual team that's posted up there: Azelf: Ttar and hippowdon leads laugh in his face though they are swiftly dealt with by Infernape and empoleon. Don't try to set empoleon up infront of hippowdon, as many carry roar. Scarfed Gengar would remove your Trickscarf problem. And aero.. well Aero is aero nothing you can do there . Jolteon: Check the quite above. Gyarados: SubDance + Bounce gyara works surprisingly well, however milking it for its stab attack really doesn't mean much when it lacks the sub. So I agree with sebata - give it ice fang or stone edge. I would say ice fang for Gliscor, as jolteon really wants gliscor eliminated. Empoleon: SubPetaya Empoleon is a beast for sure. Though it always has the problem of never really being able to get that perfect coverage from two attacks. Grass Knot is a good choice over Ice Beam, seeing as the dragons it feared are no longer around. Watch out for breloom however. Though, Behind a sub breloom isn't going to do a whole lot. Most Suicune variants will jump at the chance to set up on you, and if you haven't got the petaya activated, then they will do and I can't see much on your team being abl to bring it down once it has a couple three CM's under its belt. Just be aware of that. Gengar: Slap a scarf on it and revenge kill the world. Can't really see any problems there. You may want to throw hypnosis on there to aid Empoleon or gyaras set up. Infernape: Infernape is my favourite wall breaker, and I think the set you have is quite possibly its best set. I hate infernape, but jesus it does the job . I do agree that a priority spammer could really help the team out but finding the spot for it is pretty tricky . I'll get back to you if I can think of any thing .... I thought of something. Check the quote box above if you haven't already. Cool team.

Technitop is indeed hitmontop, with a technician ability . Erm Slowking could well replace snorlax, I run Slowking and Marowak as my special and physical sweepers, respectively. They work pretty awesome. I say replace snorlax as marowak does make for a much better physical sweeper IMO and you do leave a lot to be desired on the special offence front. Any old Skarmory/forry/gliscor could soon stop you dead in your tracks. I think running Nasty Plot/Surf (hydro Pump)/Grass Knot/ HP Fire could work pretty amazingly for you.

Hey welcome to the site I guess you already know where the AR codes are, but keep checking the RAM section, never know when a new code might get added. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks for that Wraith I guess I'll get around to updating the OP when I'm all settled

Scarfed absol isn't great Swords dance works a lot better, +2 superpower will OHKO Scizor, and +2 Sucker punch will OHKO Gallade. I usually run Swords dance/ Sucker Punch/ Super Power/ Psycho Cut (or megahorn or night slash). You could even run Swords Dance/Sucker Punch/ Psycho Cut/ Fire Blast, so that Forrestress and Skarmory don't ruin your sweep. I think that would require 64 SpAtk EVs with either Lonely/Hast/Naive Nature

Sandy Storms (Unorthodox Team; Warning! Long Read)
Tbird replied to Sabeta's topic in Team Building Discussion
Ok I like the premise of the team and it does by all means look completely viable so good job . As to doing what this set wants to do it does it well if that makes sense. However it is very limited and seems like it'll be switching out a whole lot. It's kind of a jack of all trade sort of thing. Instantly, it isn't going to be looking to set up both weather systems, or at least not a whole bunch of time. So for the first turn you're relegated to attacking options. And the problem with that is there are better sets to do this. As you've already said, Aero will take away ~50%, as will most other leads. So bringing it out later is merely for death fodder reasons. And then you got to wonder what your lead has accomplished . While it may have murdered the opposing lead, their lead has already done what it needs to do and has helped them to effectively set up their game plan. A stealth rock set would probably work a lot better. Alas you already know this. But in knowing this you should probably seek for a better set. At the moment, rain dance on this set is redundant, there fore damp rock is too. Personally I think Tyranitar as a lead works for the team just a completely different set than this. SR/Crunch/EQ (SE)/Filler (SE) is probably your best bet. It'll be doing everything your TTar already does, however it gets rocks up sooner, which is always welcomed. I know the accuracy isn't great, but, as you know, it blows chunks out of the opponent. I like the Agility set it works well. I think you could benefit from putting HP ground in place of ice beam to get a surprise hit on Magnezone/Heatran and the like. But losing the ice coverage over celebi kind of sucks . Swampert is a great wall indeed and this works fine. If you go for SR on Ttar then that frees up room for Roar here, or any utility filler of your choice. Scizor is Scizor. He does what he does. Nothing to say here really. Uber now . Might I suggest Kingdra to fill her spot? The Latter part took the words right out of my mouth here really so I don't know what to say . Personally I would like to see some real abuse out of the weather to really mix things up. For instance you have a gaping SD Lucario problem at the moment, Gliscor directly counters this, and could work well in place of swampert as a physical wall. It also gets the evasion boost from the sand, and happily takes electric assaults for empoleon. On the other offensive side Kingdra replacing the now Uber Latias could slot in really quite well here as a swift swim sweeper. Though the dragon coverage is now really quite redundant, it hits neutral on a hell of a lot and is powerful. Not to mention it can set up rain in place of Ttar. I think at the moment the weathers are really just gimmicky, while they give small boosts you have got the basis of a really strong weather focused team, if you would just abuse it more. I do however like the team a lot . I would have rated better... but, I'm tired -
Most people will tell you Twave is better but I prefer Discharge. I guess it's just down to preference.

The only thing I can answer here is the hex letters, this is due to the game accepting more than just romanised letters. The Japanese characters are accounted for, as are punctuation marks and all that jazz. But if you know where the romanisation starts, then there's nothing else you need to know about that really (Unless you're trying to make the JP name of course)

3 new pokes added + Corocoro scans (see burokko and Giruja) Burokko being a grass monkey looks like it could well turn into a grass fighting type. A new typing as far as I'm aware, however, every monkey so far in the Pokemon Series has been a fighting type. With Onokurusu (sp) looking like a bug/dragon and now a grass fighting type I really do see the metagame soon being in favour of a lot of flying types. If Infernape is anything to go by, then Burokko's final evo is sure to bring some pain in the OU metagame. The water pokemon, Giruja, seems to be like any other water pokemon, he may see some use as a teams bulky water of choice, but until more is known there's not much else I can say about him. There are also two plant pokemon revealed. However since nothing is known about them, not even names, I don't see any reason to post them just yet. The 'Swan', Hakubirisu, Has got the ability white wing. Can't wait to see what this does. Possibly a 'safe-guard' ability or something of the sort. That'd be pretty cool. Though nothing is comfirmed as to what this ability actually does. Hihidaruma's pre-evo has also been revealed but I don't see any need to post that in the OP. Sorry for the triple post :s

Gliscor is Lucario's instant counter. Flygon, however, should be coming out on top so long as it doesn't switch into Ice Punch. Swampert can deal with it too, probably better than flygon at that. In what way is Lucario being a problem? EDIT: oh and remember my suggestion to put fire blast on Tyranitar ... that would kill it too .

That's got its merits in UU where abomasnow, and as you said, dusknoir/ and celebii aren't writhe. But in OU the extra coverage, albeit little, from poison jab really helps. Not to mention I've not got much in the way of hurting Celebi or other bulky waters without Poison Jab.

Ok so we have got a lot of new information recently . Gigiaisu is as we all expected a Rock Type. It's got the generic Sturdy ability. Unless it's got some new moves, better speed than past rocks, or just SOME special defence, I imagine that this will be relegated to the lower tiers pretty quickly. We have a new Flying Electric type in form of Emonga, again I can't see it doing a whole bunch in OU as zapdos (at the moment) looks to out class it. However, the static ability is always welcomed being able to paralyse Stone Edge abusers, such as infernape... However unless it has the defences to survive it, and has roost, that paralysis is wasted, as blissey, or any other bulky Twaver will do a much better job. Though the new typing will certainly be welcomed, and will probably diversify the lower tiers a whole lot . Shikijika ... has been screwed . Normal grass type. It does have chlorophyll, like most grass types. This makes me feel that sunny day teams might rise up a little to allow for Shikijika to prove its worth. As a grass type it is pretty much guaranteed to get growth (which now boosts attack and special attack), so I can see STAB Return, Solar Beam + Coverage move getting a whole lot of use in Sunny teams in the lower tiers. On the typing front, other than boosted returns, neither type lends themselves any favours, gaining more weaknesses and no resistances kind of sucks. With Growth now boosting both stats I think we are probably going to see a whole lot of grass types running around. I think someone to watch out for will definitely be Venusaur, being able sleep and sweep from both ends of the spectrum is a pretty awesome prospect. Tangrowth will also be pretty beastly. Considering its natural bulk, More EVs will be able to be pumped into its defenses so that it can safely run a completely viable mixed set is pretty scary... AND ITS ALREADY A BEAST. I don't know. I might be getting excited over nothing, but a few of my favourite pokemon are grass types and this gives them a nice opening into a metagame that, at the moment, seems to be rejecting them. I do however feel like they are now making changes to make the pokemon of the next generation more viable. For instance, this change could have came in gen III... imagine how much Sceptile would have pwned... imagine how much it will now . I can't remember what else has been revealed so feel free discuss anything I have missed, too. And check the first page for all of the new information.

I like them, I can't imagine I would run anything different. I might put a little bit of speed on mespirit, however. 124 EV's in speed gets the jump on untouched (neutral nature no EV investment) base 95s (such as Drapion who can run taunt and shut down your lead - but you should be Uturning out of him anyway.) However, given the natural bulk, and the fact that 124 is quite a huge chunk, for really quite a small problem your configuration at the moment should work better anyway.

Rain Dance Team [Updated]
Tbird replied to Riolu Aura Sphere Now's topic in Team Building Discussion
Though we have all helped you with your team about as much as we can, you should really post a little bit more description as tp how you are using each poke so that others can help with anything that you may not have noticed. For instance, Electrode should taunt then rain dance. (depending on the lead you're up against of course.) -

This is completely wallled by mismagius, though you can cripple it with Twave. However, looking at the team thus far, Mismagius w/ nasty plot and a subistute will be a big problem for this team... ... So I recommend some parafusion on this lanturn set to screw around with speedy special attackers. The reason you could go for substitute is because toxic is negated by registeel, while twave is already negated by lanturn and claydol, and alakazam doesn't mind being burnt. With substitute you could run confuse ray/ Discharge/ Surf (or ice beam) for parafusion and general annoyance. Or you could lose confuse ray for charge beam to get a surprisingly strong sweeper out of lanturn. However Parafusion is more reliable IMO. Surf is generally better due to STAB, just watch out for altaria ... though if it is a Ddance varient confusion will hurt it ALOT . --- Now I'll rate these two together concidering these are you physical and special sweepers. Something to always remember is that you want sweepers to complement each other, in terms of coverage and resistances. These two both share a bug weakness, so scyther is going to destroy these two straight away, claydol won't last long, brick break at +2 is going to destroy Regi, bug bite kills mespirit and lanturn won't be able to switch in and survive either. However, if you had two sweepers that complemented each other perfectly (and a revenge killer ... I might suggest removing claydol in place of a revenge killer as having 3 pokemon weak to bug and dark is really quite bad... plus you don't need to spin rocks away as it doesn't hurt your team too bad.) So, pokemon that work well with alakazam are - Arcanine, Blaziken (who could run a scarf set and become a mixed revenge killer),_most fire types_, Hitmonlee, Hariyama, _Most Fighting types_, Scyther, Aggron (I recommend this actually, with Rock polish. As Aggron resists everything Alakazam is weak to). Absol - Mismagius works really well, she resists what he can't stand and vice versa, plus you would gain an extra ground immunity for Lanturn and registeel. Scyther resists fighting and bug for absol, though that's another physical sweeper so not much help. Altaria and Nidoking can both run mixed sets and can switch into absol's weaknesses (altaria also takes statuses thanks to Natural cure, while nidoking can absorb toxic spikes), Moltres can be a beast and also resists absol's weaknesses. So it it's up to you really there are a lot of options. Personally I prefer absol. It's got more power thanks to swords dance, and can really mess teams up with Sucker Punch. Absol also loves paralysis support, so more reason for discharge on Lanturn. The decision to keep claydol is based on whether or not you find yourself using it enough to take up a spot on the team, and if you decide to change one of your sweepers, as if you bring in someone weak to rocks then you will need to keep Claydol. I personally prefer donphan as a rapid spinner, and it could be good on this team as you lack physical power over all on the team. However if you opt for a non rock weak pokemon, then I recommend a revenge killer on the team. But again this is situational on the sweepers you use. Choice band Blaziken could work with a Absol + Magius combo, as could a choice band sneasel. Blaziken is weak to psychic which absol is immune to, and absol has the lovely sucker punch to take psychic pokes down. Sneasle is weak to fighting and fire, Magius is immune to fighting attacks, and also boasts a nice special defence to take fire attacks. Choice scarf Kingler (which I may use actually as I have never thought of it before ) will work well Absol and Moltres, as would choice band dugrtrio (for the electric attacks - though you share a water weakness ) and choice scarf nidoking. Erm.. as you can see there are a lot of options, so just play around a bit and see if you can come up with a nice configuration of pokes that can all safely switch in on the others' weaknesses. Personally, I have always like Absol/Mismagius/Sneasel - For this though you may have to go for a fast taunt lead to stop rocks getting set up.

Welcome to the site, CharizardMan and Nicole! I'm a charizard fanboy too I must admit . And you're right, Nicole, this site certainly is full of information on almost anything you could wish for in the pokemon world. I'm sure if you stick around ypu could find out a lot more too. Enjoy your stay(s)

Try loading it in pokegen. That should work and it's an easier tool to use anyway.

Off topic/GYMS SHOULD BE MORE TOUGH INDEED! On topic/ a couple of my friends used to go the super levelled way of playing and in terms of two things, fun and efficiency, they couldn't match up. While it took them 3 days max to complete the game I would still be quite happily playing a long and training my team, and changing it a lot too. Variety is after all the spice of life. And in terms of efficiency, it takes nothing to spam a status on one pokemon that hasn't got any team support, or perish trap it - how's it going to switch out? As for the story I couldn't care much for it any more, as many of us vet's can agree, but if you don't care for the story, or for the training element of the game, then why are you wasting £30 on the game when there's a free sim in shoddy to use? Personally I love training my pokes up, breeding can be a nuisance, but hell I even love that sometimes. EV training can be an arduous task, but again, it's fun. And though it is just flickers and random code, there will always be that sense of accomplishment when you make yourself a perfectly competitively viable pokemon, even if you won't be using it outside of the actual story line, or in battle tower. It's one of those paradoxes that GF has made and it is one that we will keep buying into. If you just get your kicks out of the feel of winning then great, but stop wasting your money dude and get ion the PP shoddy server, God knows we need more traffic coming that way . Off topic again... God I got to stop doing this/ CowColor in a way perfectly illustrates why the gyms should be tougher. If people are super training to wizz passed the story, then GF is completely missing its target audience, or at least a part of it, and should counter this by making people have to train harder to get what they want. ... Me thinks GF needs to go over to Smogon to learn their sets again.
