FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Hmm, I'm sort of into ice Pokémon now. I guess I change from liking grass to ice.
wraith89 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 metagame??? and no not realy used that much Metagame... as in the competitive multiplayer game. Salamence, Flygon, Kingdra and Dragonite are seen almost everywhere, as are Dusknoir and Gengar and the Rotom Appliances. :-/
randomspot555 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 and the Rotom Appliances. :-/ Only on Shoddy and local DS-to-DS wireless. They don't work in the Battle Tower and the Wi-Fi environments.
ParaDoX65 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 This is a hard one >_< 1. Normal: They're just so diverse, but yet plain at the same time. 2. Water: Just the variaty of secondary types. They can almost fit anywhere is almost every team. Rain teams are the best 3. Ghost: they have so many immunities. Rotom FTW
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Ghost Pokémon are awesome, but immunities isn't the strong point is point, its the strengths.
wraith89 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 @randomspot555: Oh right. Forgot about that :-/ Ghost Pokémon are awesome, but immunities isn't the strong point is point, its the strengths. Gengar loves switching with its 3 immunities and its added immunity to Toxic and loves to wreak havoc. Unfortunately he's frail, and yes, he is strong on the special side, but it's his immunities that make him good (and his unpredictability).
Milo Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 three favorite types: 1: Water. I've loved water pokemon ever since I learned that blastoise picked up ice beam in R/B (before yellow). ice beam gave him the type coverage to win any starter battle you came across, unless a venusaur happened to outspeed blastoise. 2: Dragon. I like the looks of a lot of them, namely Dragonite and Salamence. Dragonite just has aesthetic appeal to me, whereas I could totally imagine training a Salamence if pokemon were real. One of the only viable users of Fly if pokemon were real as well (assuming they'd be carrying you, most of the birds are way too small). 3: Grass, I suppose. I think the grass types have some of the more inventive sprites, from Torterra (awesome representation of ground/grass, IMHO) to Ludicolo (The famous grass-covered pineapple duck WITH A SOMBRERO!) I also like a lot of the other types in more minor roles, but there's also a few pokemon out there I can't stand. I won't get into that here, though.
randomspot555 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 But you can't depend on its immunities. Yeah, you can. Being immune to two of the most common types of attacks in the game gives Gengar a lot of chances to switch in (assuming that you haven't already let Gengar out...then you might want to use some caution) Ground due to levitate (most common in the game; fairly easy to predict) Fighting: Again, this typing is VERY common and pretty easy to predict. Normal: There's really only a handful of competitively viable Pokes that utilize normal type attacks that often. It's best use of being immune to normal is to block Rapid Spin. It probably doesn't want to come in on Starmie or Claydol's Rapid Spin, but it can handle Tentacruel and Donphan. And then a..."fourth" kind of immunity to Toxic and to Spikes. Now, of course, it can't survive much from STAB Neutral damage attacks, but any player with decent prediction can easily utilize Gengar. Levitate gives it a huge advantage over it's non-levitating Ghost counterparts.
tornadod Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Copy and Paste Format: 1.Ghost - enough said 2.Dragon - enough said 3.Poison/Psychic
Tbird Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Mine would be: 1: Normal - I don't know why. I just like a lot of normal typed pokes. Some of them are some of the most awkward to work/gimmicky pokemon ever and as such can fill some really good specialised roles. And I love the irony of that . 2: Bug - I just think they are cool. I dislike a lot of bug pokemon but absolutely love others. 3: Dark - I'm a sucker for the typing and have always been a sucker for umbreon and absol.
Riolu Aura Sphere Now Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 1. Water - They can be cute and strong. 2. Ice - They are so beautiful and pure as snow. 3. Psychic - They are so elegent and gentle. - Vaporeon - Glaceon - Espeon
SteelSlaughter111 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 1.SteelSlaughter 2.DarknessDescends 3.DragonSlayer
Delta Blast Burn Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 1: Ice 2: Electric 3: Rock What else is there to say? lol
OriginShadow Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 1. Ice They jusy a certain (pardon the pun), coolnes about them 2. Electric Simply because Jolteon, Zapdos and that electric zebra look awesome 3. Dark - Umbreon is (as if you couldn't tell) my favorite ever. and they just have some of the coolest looks and are generally good.
TheVeryBest Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Fire - Cause of Charizard Water - Cause of Blastoise Leaf - Cause of bellsprout... Nah Venusaur FTW!
Karzahni Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 1. Electric - One weakness. Usually very fast and powerful. Sometimes have very diverse movesets. 2. Fighting - Lots of type advantages. And generally strong Pokemon. 3. Steel - So. Many. Resistances. And fair good defenders.
