LF: Pokémon GO - Unique Moves and Event Moves

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

As we all know, Generation 1 Pokémon (and their Alolan Variants) captured in Pokémon Go can be transferred to Pokémon Let's Go.
Presently, we do not know how moves are going to be handled
(they could transfer with only 2 moves, or simply top up 2 moves from learnset, or completely change the transferred moveset),
so to be on the safe side, I'm looking for any users that are willing to commit to transferring one of such Pokémon.
(I'll be using them for our Downloads basically)

To be absolutely clear, my main concern: moves that a Pokémon cannot normally learn in normal main-series gameplay.
Our best basis of comparison would be against Let's Go level-up, TM learnset and move tutors learnset.
(I would imagine it wouldn't stray too far from USUM moveset, but I wouldn't hold my breath)

I understand some of these moves might be PGo legacy moves at this point, but it's still worth a shot asking for them.
(I'm also looking for more data, as these might not be the only entries)

Here are some of such moves that I'm aware of:

  • Community Day Pikachu w/ Surf
  • Regular Pikachu w/ Present
Note: During the event period, using Fast TM on any Pikachu results in it learning Present.
Without breeding in Let's Go (Pichu egg move), no Pikachu can attain the move Present (unless there's some special move tutor)
  • Jigglypuff w/ Play Rough
  • Kantonian Diglett w/ Mud Shot
  • Kantonian Dugtrio w/ Mud Shot
  • Graveler w/ Mud Shot
  • Golem w/ Mud Shot
  • Kantonian Grimer w/ Acid
  • Kantonian Muk w/ Acid
  • Koffing w/ Acid
  • Weezing w/ Acid
  • Hitmonlee w/ Stomp
  • Chansey w/ Psybeam
  • Staryu w/ Psybeam
  • Staryu w/ Quick Attack
  • Starmie w/ Quick Attack
  • Porygon w/ Quick Attack
  • Omastar w/ Rock Throw

These are crucial if moves tutors for them don't exist in the game.

  • Frenzy Plant Venusaur
  • Blast Burn Charizard
  • Hydro Cannon Blastoise (upcoming)
  • Draco Meteor Dragonite

I just verified these entries, and they're correct.

I expect it to be hard to get these (gonna need proof for these submissions)
In the mean time, I'll add them to the list above.

There are some entries I'm worried about too, especially if breeding isn't a thing in Let's Go,
such as Stomp Kangaskhan.

I've checked all the Pokemon listed, the only one I have is the Community Day Pikachu with Surf. I suspect that will be the most common one people have.

I kinda expect that to be the case sadly. The only way people have the old Pokemon, was that they abandoned playing the game right after launch 😂

If I'm not mistaken, I got a friend who abandoned playing the game, but he doesn't seem inclined to even go and check for me :(

It's a bit trivia but I remember unavaible MoonBlast and Hurricane Mew.

I'm also checking Serebii to find new ones.

Actually just found  very rare ones : Fury Cutter Nidoking (Emerald PTHGSS Move Tutor), Ominous Wind Golbat (PTHGSS move tutor), Twister Spearow/Fearow (PTHGSS move tutor), Ancient Power Golem (PTHGSS move tutor), Air Cutter Dodrio (PTHGSS move tutor), Rock Smash Alolan Marowak (unavaible for the moment- can only learn it by transfering a Cubone with that move from previous gen), Fury Cutter Pinsir (Emerald PTHGSS move tutor), Dragon Breath Gyarados (GSC TM), Fury Cutter Kabutops (Emerald PTHGSS Move Tutor), Swift Doduo (gen 1 TM, FRLG move tutor), Body Slam Rattata (gen 1 TM, FRLG move tutor), Body Slam Meowth (gen 1 TM, FRLG move tutor), Water Gun Seel (gen 1 TM).

Checked gen 2. Found:

-Pichu Quick Attack Exclusive
-Igglypuff Body Slam (FRLG move tutor)

-Delibird Present Event Move in Go
-Tyranitar Smack Down Event Move in Go

So if you have any of them keep it for later!

There must have more probably. Can anyone check? I'll do gen 3 later.

I still have my Mud Shot Golem that I can contribute.  You can see the date that I caught it at the bottom right corner.

Edit:

I have 5 Present Pikachu if that is still needed.  Also should we consider collecting the various hats for Pikachu in case those can transfer?

They already said that "event" Pokemon won't be able to transfer; meaning things like Mew and the Pikachu hat lines.

We know it. However we explained how to get Present Pikachu without the hat and I added Mew in case of just for informations or if it'll be possible later.

Yeah hopefully PGo's Mew can be transferred/traded one day.

Also, when another round of Party Pikachus come around, I'm gonna try to use the PM on an non-hat Pikachu,
to see if they implemented it the same way :D

Here’s the Seel with Water Gun.  But what is the point of the rare move list since the Pokémon should be able to learn those moves in the Let's Go games?  Also mine was caught on the 23rd and not the 22nd.

Actually Seal cannot learn Water Gun since Red/Blue/Green/Yellow and we can suppose that Let's Go movesets will be based on USUM ones + few new additions like Double Kick Pikachu.

And you're lucky to get it before the 23rd update nice!

I guess I was lucky.  I was playing a lot right then since I was only in the city for the weekend and there were water types which are rare where I live.  I’ll defiantly contribute it to help the community.

I'm actually translating the list in French.

I can send the original document to people who wants to translate it in Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Deutsch, Spanish or Chinese.

I just realized that my Golem matches the Golem for exclusive moves and rare moves since it knows both Mud Shot and Ancient Power.

Such a lucky guy ^^

For all readers please share this list with your friends and trade them the Pokemon if possible.

Proofs like @Poke J did are requested.

I think Psybeam Chansey, Quick Attack Porygon, Rock Throw Omastar, DragonBreath Gyarados and Fury Cutter Kabutops will be the hardest ones to get.

Added to the list:

-Body Slam Snorlax (upcoming event)

-Surf Pikachu issue according to Joe Merrick

-Mew (in case of)

Did I already tell you that GF event policy is problematic ?

Body Slam Snorlax is available in main game, tho. But I'll aim to get one.

That's the old one, right? (I hope a new one pops up)

In this scenario, it's actually Niantic's fault.

They don't allow trading and releasing of Mythicals,
and PGO park appears to work as tho the player is releasing the Pokemon on their PGo account (as they get candy, if I'm not mistaken)
