Bidoof...the first Pokemon I ran into was a retarded beaver...I was so disappointed, but decided to catch it to fill out my Pokedex/team.

I miss Rattata...they were useful.

Bidoof is like Zigzagoon or Ratatta. Nobody really like or wants the most annoying common Pokemon in the game. So, we Hyper Beam the hell out of it and move on.

Rattata was actually useful, especially early game... and worked okay in endgame.

Sentret was a bad Rattata.

Zigzagoon was very useful competitively once he evolved into Linoone.

Bidoof was annoying, but Bibarel became one of the best Pokemon I could hope for competitively. He was also a good HM slave.

I used to always use Rattata evolved into Raticate. Hyper Fang was my I WIN button in the early game.

Hyper Fang... STAB 80 BP attack = full of win

I hated how everyone in Red and Blue were filled with hax level 16 Raticate... they always gave me trouble :-/

Bidoof for me as well. Kept him along the whole time too because I didn't want to have to keep switching back when I needed a hm and I didn't want to teach anyone else.

I caught a starly as my first pokemon, and it is now a lvl 19 staravia.(I just started playing lol)

Bidoof. The cool thing is I caught it, because I managed to not encounter a single Pokémon until I got the Poké Balls. Lucky me.

It was either a Bidoof, Starly, or a Shinx.

platinum: shinx (used it until lvl 36)

In all three games I have caught Starly as my "first" pokemon. IDK why, but if Murkurow was more available, I would catch it instead of Starly.
