coolbho3000 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Funny story about this one. Fallen and I posted separate articles for the same story at almost precisely the same time (within the same 2:38 EST minute), each not knowing the other was posting a story. Fallen deleted his because he posted it seconds later but I incorporated the information missing from mine (the source link and the World Championships stuff) and modified the author field. :grog:
codemonkey85 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 They sure are announcing this early. So I guess we can expect the Pikachu-colored Pichu and the movie Arceus fairly soon. I'm not sure how I feel about those logos... the font is a little odd.
COBHC Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 man i saw the video in utube (from a friend) and it rocks
Narwhal Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 codemonkey: Yeah, the text is too... happy. But yeah, it doesn't look very good in the picture. :\
Mewtwo Ex Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Well the Spring release date is undeniable proof that the amazon item is something other than what we thought. Not being the last days of 2009 December. As for the image provided for the names. I like the blazing orange, but i however do not appreciate the effort for the Soul Silver one...
tooklin999 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Woot, well atlest we know when round about it will be released, and the font and colour on the logo do look quite strange and irregular from the previous pokemon game logos. wounder if they might change or enhance there quality abit more to give it a more pokemon feal.
DanteKoriyu Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I feel like I'm one of the only people who appreciates the difference between these logos and the dozen or so we've had in the past with the same font. The Japanese logo's for every Pokemon game are unique, and now we finally get a similar treatment. I'm not saying these are the best we could have gotten, but I REALLY appreciate the effort. On another note, I am really surprised that these remakes kept the little Ho-Oh heart and Lugia soul, since FRLG got rid of the little flame and leaf symbol. I'm happy about that.

I'm happy about that. Yes i noticed that too. But i neglected to mention it in my post earlier. I am getting a good feeling about this game, i hope that it does not disappoint, but with all these features how is it possible?!

I'm happy about that. I agree with you 100%. Most recent first-hand experience of this: Spent a lot of time playing D/P and Pt in Japanese... then play the English versions. The Japanese logos look very metallic and stylized and just awesome. Then I pop in an English version and get the same, standard, cartoony logo that has been around for well over 10 years, and it's even in the same color configuration. Ugh. At least the "version" info on these new logos is unique and not the same old font.
codemonkey85 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Well, I suppose the logos are fine then. They just seemed a little out of place compared to what we've had before, but variation is a good thing, so I see your point.
Guested Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I admit, it does look different. But I feel like the "Pokemon" logo should have changed, too.
PaDdY! Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 pure awesome- so is this just confirmed us or aus as well?
Toffeuy Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Awesome... the only thing I don't really like is the English Logos they look a bit... (no offence) ugly... @PaDdY!: Seeing that Australia released Platinum 1 month 22 days after the US, I assume it's going to be released somewhere around 2010 Late Spring (November) or Summer (December).
theSLAYER Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I'm excited (though I will be getting the jap version anyway) I bet we can start a poll on how "unpleasant" the new logos are!
Okami Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I feel so....behind. I've been so busy lately that I haven't seen this yet. I really don't like those logos. The Japanese was much more awesome. (Hoping these are prototypes....?)
PowerlessSoul Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Why dont you guys check out what i found: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75770 and http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75774
KyoMcFizzle Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Why dont you guys check out what i found:http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75770 and http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75774 Is that date right? I don't think so. If it is April Fools, I'm going to be mad. Otherwise, I think they're just using that as a default date until a better projectd release date is set.
Guested Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Don't ever site gamestop for anything, please. I worked there, and they'd just put up some guesswork when nothing official was announced. And then constantly change it (if it got close) and blame it on the companies (such as "oh, looks like it got pushed back again"). They have no communication with companies, they just guess until something is announced to the press. So you'd probably know from the internet sooner than they would know. Trust me on this.
codemonkey85 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Incidentally, I did pre-order SoulSilver from a GameStop, and they claim the release date is April... I'm sure they don't know for certain. Either way at least I have a guaranteed copy.

Either way at least I have a guaranteed copy. Many sites did that for Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the Sky, and they were ALL wrong (now they are).

I remember I got that response for over a year on one game -__-;
