Meshidaru Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Sorry if this is not the right topic for this questions, but does anyone know which firmware is installed on a Nintendo 2DS/3DS when you buy it in a store? Thanks in advance

Tacanacy Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Mind Pokémon Bank if you're a bank user and are thinking of buying another 3DS/2DS.
Cecillia Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) I've just been in luck, I got sysnand 9.5.0-22E and not higher, so i can still use it, no matter what. Edited March 31, 2015 by pokemonfanceetje123
aleksandar426 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 i keep getting "Communication Error" when trying to export my save. never had this problem and i'm still on 9.5.0-22u. i've checked to make sure the links are still the same and have also downloaded the .bin files again as well. is anyone else having this issue?
Favna Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 @Aleksander Server seems to be down. Had it myself too. Friend as well. Patience is a virtue is all I can say.

Tacanacy Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I've a problem: When I use "pcout", a grey header with a message appears after some seconds and says "Communication error." in the upper screen. The lower screen doesn't show any text, only a transparent background. The message disappears after some seconds, and the lower screen then becomes white. I've used this method all day, just "pcout", not "pcin" because I haven't edited my save file. I've version 9.50-022E, and deleted all history and Cookies.
Tacanacy Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Ok, I see, others have the same problem. I was writing my message when people posted this.
Alpha Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 You can always try renaming your bin file to code.bin and using loadcode.projectpokemon.org
Favna Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 You can always try renaming your bin file to code.bin and using loadcode.projectpokemon.org Thanks for the tip. Gonna carry this one with me for sure.
Odaxis Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Thanks for the tip. Gonna carry this one with me for sure. It worked?
Favna Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I can't test it atm. It's.. Like.. 1.13 Am here. Eheheeh. Yeah... I guess it does though. I don't think Alpha is a person who would give such an advice without knowing fairly certain it works
Favna Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 How do you try this? by Following the steps laid out by Alpha... Buuttt.. Here's a step by step: Name rsavout.bin "code.bin" Go to loadcode.projectpokemon.org Make file edits as usual Name the now code.bin "codeOUT.bin" Name rsavin.bin "code.bin" Go to SAME website
Foxy Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Lunarcookies mirrored the loadcode btw, so for whoever wants a more "permanent" thing, use http://lunarcookies.github.io/loadcode.html for code.bin or http://lunarcookies.github.io/loadcode.html#something.bin for custom bins Use those URLs: http://lunarcookies.github.io/loadcode.html#rsavout.bin (shorturl: j.mp/svout) http://lunarcookies.github.io/loadcode.html#rsavin.bin (shorturl: j.mp/svin6)

KeldeoJustified Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Just curious but why exploits always not work on Korean 3ds? Not like I have one...
Hazelhart Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I've seen talk about buying another 3DS without the latest firmware, but I don't understand how you're supposed to make it all work with this exploit. You need to update X/Y or OR/AS, right? Which requires you to go on eShop, which requires you to have the latest update. So, unless the previous owner owned either of these games and updated them, it would be pointless to buy another 3DS?

Furthermore, the update data is saved on the SD card which is device specific. It is possible to swap the gamecard between 2 consoles. 1 updated, 1 not updated.

Aren't games and other titles like updates console-specific?

Oh, of course >_< Thanks for clearing that up.

rollthedice Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 for some reason it keeps crashing when i try to save after importing all of a sudden, anyone have any ideas? it worked fine before on X/Y/OR/AS. it's suddenly not working on a 2ds with 9.2 EU pokemon OR. Quote from supercarotte: Save sharing was never possible with the exception of between rom versions of the game both running on a gateway. This is due to encryptions, which are not rewritten when importing a ramsav. could you elaborate? is the encryption game per game or console per console? if it's console per console im so boned. i figured i could import/export with my 2ds so i downgraded my 3ds. i take it i can't import my 3ds savefiles on the 2ds? if this is the case could OP please add a little note about this in the first post? save other people my grief
Foxy Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Wait, are you talking about the firmware update? Both XY and ORAS have updates now.
