Zowayix Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I think I read somewhere about ARDS or Pokesav being able to leave a "trace" on a [.sav] file, showing that the save was "tampered" with. Is this true?
xPeachy~ Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 this could answer my Q, cuz whatever i make is being considered a hack on game checks. =[
Sabresite Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 PokeSav does leave traces in the actual save itself (due to bad code), but this does not necessarily transcend to ARDS codes.
Zowayix Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 Is there any way to fix these traces? I'm directly editing my save, not using ARDS codes.
Poryhack Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 That depends on what you wanna do. Presumably you could trade any pokemon you want from a "hacked" save to a completely clean one and no one would know.
Zowayix Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 That's not what I want, I want to be able to directly edit the save file but leave no trace.
xeomyr Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 so there is a trace by using pokesav =_= ... then how about DSPokeEdit .. is that program leave trace ...?? and also , how about the future sav editing program "PokeMod" >_< , will it leave trace like pokesav does??
Sabresite Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 DSPokeEdit leaves a trace as well. PokeMod will not leave traces. I will only be adding the ability to edit features which I have completely information on. The majority of the traces are due to incomplete information.
4evil Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 dam, im a bit worried now because i edited my save file to put a pokemon with pokerus because when i tried to do ARDS it wouldn't load the cheats on my acekard. :[ it kept like loading cheats forever when i pressed rebuild :[ ---------- Post added at 02:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:37 AM ---------- only thing im worried is when i go online to face ppl with my ev trained pokemon, can they detect that i used pok sav? To get like a pokemon with poke rus (so i can spread it to my others and then release it), and the power items for easy ev training?
Sabresite Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Don't worry about it. Nobody maps the save file and its faults left by editors.
xeomyr Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 thx for clarifying , sabresite look forward the completion of pokemod ^^ my friend told me that .. "the evidence" of using pokesav or other program is checked by Nintendo , if u participate in tournament or somthin ... so as long as you play individually , without coming to tourney or else .. it's safe >_<
4evil Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 thx sabresite yea so if you gonna go out and play at tourney, go get a real game cart
ZMaster Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 thx sabresiteyea so if you gonna go out and play at tourney, go get a real game cart Yeah, or the Nintendo Secret Service will have to bring you to headquarters.
Sabresite Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I doubt Nintendo checks for anything that Pokesav may leave behind.
ZMaster Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 It's great to know that Pokemod is going to have no open ends =D
xeomyr Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 the moderator, name "SPPf" of somethin ... and my friend said that SPPf is the official tournament judge . the 'mod' said that it is useless using pokesav because the trace can be identified >_< maybe he want to challenge hackers to hack the game without a trace >_<
Gold88 Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Uhm, and for the AR Codes exported from pokesav on the game ? Sabresite told this doesn't necessarily transcend... Is there any trace Nintendo can finds ? Btw, i doubt they check so deep a Pokemon, or a Pokemon game until the stats (and look) are legal. This isn't Nintendo's spirit lol
Poryhack Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Gold has a point. You guys seem to think Nintendo is out to get you; they're not. They will do the bare minimum or possibly less to ensure that people don't hack in their tournaments. Honestly, if you hack a legal pokemon you don't have that big of an advantage over a legit player.
Sabresite Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Theoretically if your pokemon is 100% legal, you have NO advantage over a legit player. Also who cares about the bit flags, rand ints, and other crap in your save file. If you are that paranoid, transfer the legal pokemon via trade to a 100% legit save game.
xeomyr Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 .. I also don't really care bout that evidence , trace... i just want to know the "truth" LOL anyway it's not a big deal to leave a pokesav trace in my savefile , since i won't come to tourneys .. because i live in SouthEast Asia .. it's impossible for me to go to the tourney and also .. southeast asia . doesn't have any pokemon tourneys , especially for the country that i live right now
Gold88 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 .. And this counts for both wild and bred... We must be objective , we are going to a paranoia that only we think probably.
bear831 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 yah deep save file checking is bad for people who go o tourneys.
Zowayix Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 If PokeMod won't leave traces, can currently existing traces from Pokesav be removed by saving again in PokeMod?
Gold88 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Btw, i'd like someune keep us informed about this "Nintendo cheking" at tourneys, since i think there's nothing to worry if you use legal pokemon atm .
