  • PKHeX is a save editor for core-series Pokémon games. With it, users can manipulate various save files including: .sav, .dsv, .dat, .gci, .raw, and .bin types. PKHeX can also read and write: .pk files, which are individual Pokémon files, and .pgt, .pcd, .pgf, .wc, which are Mystery Gift files.

Version 19.12.26 of PKHeX has been released with improved legality checking, new features, minor changes, and bug fixes.

    Change log:

    Quote

    - Legality:
     - - Added: PP Count verification, Egg TR/StatNature checks, etc.
     - - Added: More static encounter locations.
     - - Added: Handling for downleveled raid content, and location crossover comparisons for wild encounters.
     - - Changed: Encounter yielding pattern for Gen8 is now slightly different from the one used for Gen5-7 (now yields more).
     - - Fixed: EvolutionTree regressions have been resolved. Please report any further issues with legality!
     - Added: Gen8 simple Raid Den parameter editor.
     - Added: Gen8 Watts are now editable in the Trainer Data editor. Thanks @Atzgi!
     - Added: Gen1 Yellow Pikachu Beach score editing
     - Changed: The Friendship and Form row in the PKM editor has been split, and the Ability row has been moved up.
     - Changed: Blank Gen2 saves now act as Virtual Console blanks rather than GB Era blanks.
     - Fixed: Gen8 Box edits made after using a popup save editor (eg. Trainer Editor) are now written correctly.
     - Fixed: Gen8 Ingredients are now allowed as held items. Thanks @Narithegreat!
     - Fixed: Gen8 QR Code image generation now works properly with the larger sprites.
     - Fixed: Gen8 Trainer Card # (3 digits) now pads with \0 instead of 0, allowing for non-3-digit values.
     - Fixed: Gen8 Traditional Chinese species names are now in the program. Thanks @iiippppk!
     - Fixed: Gen4 PCD cards now export correctly with their PGT payload encrypted, rather than as the WC4 format.
     - Fixed: Daycare/GameSync values from the previously loaded save are no longer erroneously applied to a new save if the caret is in the textbox.

Unfortunately things still seem to be broken in terms of being able to write/edit Gen 4 event constants (which it seems a lot of triggers in Gen 4 are rather than event flags)

Are you guys looking to differentiate box sprites for shinies / forms that aren't displayed natively on box sprites (like Alcremie forms)? That was a feature I always liked in old PKHex and I even made a bunch of Alcremie box sprites y'all could use

when you import a showdown set the nature does not update, just the stat nature. It remains with the previous pokemon nature

do you think it would be possible to make the pokedex skin editable in gen 5?  it used to be changeable similarly to the cgear skin and i would like to be able to customize it now that online services for those games have been shut down

Oh, did save file sizes increase with the update? Is there even update stuff available right now? I thought that was for later.

If that's the case though, then yeah, I guess you'd have to wait for an update that supports the newer file sizes.

With the new update today, it's possible to find GMAX Alcremie with flavors other than Vanilla Cream. Could this be incorporated in the PKHeX update as well so that all Alcremie flavors (Matcha, Salted, Mint) are legal when in GMAX form?

    • Since they released over a decade ago, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games for the Nintendo DS have not had much in the way of ROM editors. Over the past few years, hackers have slowly learned more and more about the inner workings of the games, culminating in the most advanced PMD editor to date: Sky Temple.

SkyTemple is a user-friendly level editor for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky that gives the user full control over graphics, scripts, Pokémon data, and more, enabling a great amount of creative freedom to prospective ROM hackers to create not just edits of the game, but entirely new levels and plots.
