  2. Hello all, newb here... Hi, uh...the title says my idea. I heard about Project Pokemon through Kotaku (http://kotaku dot com/the-hackers-and-cheaters-that-break-pokemon-1679307562). i am writing up my own script for a ROM hack (my first) and i would like to as for any pointers you can give. My story will try to encompass the "beginnings of the Pokemon world" at the cost of our world ending. I would like to base it off of either X/Y or OR/AS games, because i want to use the newer 3d models, rather than 5th gen.

  5. I have tried pk3DS : https://github.com/kwsch/pk3DS I set Fench, change text in Game Text. But in-game, i can't see my new text... I have the same problem with xytext or Ohana and Text
  6. I have plans for making some Changes to my Y rom but do not know where to begin. I've tried finding out how to unpack my .garcs from my Rom for editing but google searching brings me back here with the only real answer going to a dead link and a rather confusing place elsewhere. Does anyone have actual step by step instruction compiled yet on how to unpack you roms, edit the information, and to repack it? Because atm it seems like just a privileged few actually know what's what and nobody else has any ideas.
  7. Hi, I've noticed that other people have changed TM moves in BW2 to different ones but I haven't found anything on how to do it. Where is the data stored and how do I extract it/edit it? Can anyone provide a tutorial? Thanks!
  8. Hello, Is there a way to extract all the animated gifs from ORAS and XY using Cybergadget, pkhex or some other program?? Many people online are looking for them and the sprites are not easily found especially the shiny and different form sprites of pokemon. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
  9. I've been having problems with changing the player trainer sprite in Diamond recently. My problem is when I replace new sprites, the animation is messed up. Walking right works fine, but left is missing the last frame (the second standing one). And the animation for walking up is using the wrong sprite for it's third frame, and it's missing it's fourth frame. And walking down doesn't have any sprites at all. I haven't tried running yet but I think there might be a problem there too. What I've been doing is using Nitroexplorer and BTX editor to turn the .btx files of the trainer into .pngs, I've tried other programs but I don't think that's the problem. I think my problem is how I'm repacking the narc or reinserting the narc. I've been repacking it with either PokeDSPic DP or alphanarc. I don't think I'm having problems with converting the .png to a .btx file, because I've also tried looking at the modified narc with Overworld Sprite editor DS. I've only been editing some of the .btx files, in diamond, they're the movement sprites (file 91), the watering sprites (158), and the saving sprites (366). Mostly because I want to get it working before I edit all of the sprites. The sprites all have 16 colors, including the transparency color, but I did replace one of the colors, but I doubt it's the palette, because the pallet is the same for every sprite, and only some of the sprites are working. Another thing that might be affecting the sprites is an error I've been getting with the watering and saving sprites. It tells me the height of the sprite sheet is wrong or something. Once I get the error again I'll edit this post and say exactly what it says. But like I said, this doesn't happen with the movement animations, just the other two I've been working with, so that might not be it. I've also been googling everything I can think of, but with no luck. So hopefully someone who might have had this problem before can help. So what am I doing wrong that's causing this to happen?
  10. So, I wanted to change both Rosa & Nate's X-transceiver mug shot. I started off with Rosa and was able to replace everything (animations, etc.) The animations are working correctly, but then I get this: The eyes are all red and black and I don't know what happened. By the way, I used Tinke to replace the files. Any suggestions?
  11. Well, I'm working on Mystery Dungeon : Gates to Infinity and I'm currently trying to convert an IMG file to a PNG. Firstly, let's talk about those IMG files. You can find them in /bg/ and /image_2d/ folders. Their header seems to always be 0x20 bytes long. All values in header are Little Endian. [table=width: 500, class: outer_border, align: left] [tr] [td] Offset [/td] [td] Size [/td] [td] Description [/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]0x00[/td] [td]4[/td] [td]Magic ".cte". { 0x00, 0x63, 0x74, 0x65 }[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]0x04[/td] [td]4[/td] [td]File format. Possible values : 0x02 (RGB8), 0x03 (RGBA8888), 0x04 (ETC1) or 0x05 (??).[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]0x08[/td] [td]4[/td] [td]Width. Always a multiple of 4.[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]0x0C[/td] [td]4[/td] [td]Height. Always a multiple of 4.[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]0x10[/td] [td]4[/td] [td]Pixel length in bits. 0x18 : 24bits pixels. 0x20 : 32bits pixels.[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]0x18[/td] [td]4[/td] [td]Pixel data start offset. Using the file format as a reference to CLIM file ones, you can convert those IMG into BCLIM files and then use png2clim to create a PNG. For a few days now I've been trying to replace sprites in Platinum Version, however I keep getting met with something about an 8bpp error and that the sprite wouldn't work properly, and after writing it to the narc the sprite looks corrupted. I tried following the video tutorial but it still didn't help, that or I'm doing something wrong - but even then, I have no clue what. I'll go over my steps I'm taking. Step 1: Extract sprite from GBA Rom Hack (Using APSE) and extract Bulbasaur from Platinum's narc file with PokeDSPicPlatinum Step 2: Open both in gimp Step 3: Set the coloring on the extracted GBA Sprite to indexed Step 4: Extract the first sprite of the GBA Sprite (Since that's the normal sprite) and copy it into a new gimp window Step 5: Resize the GBA Sprite without interpolation to 80x80 Step 6: Expand the canvas to 160x80, then copy the sprite to fill both frames Step 7: Set the Bulbasaur sprite in gimp to use the GBA sprite's color table Step 8: Copy over the GBA sprite to overwrite the Bulbasaur sprite entirely Step 9: Save as a .png Step 10: Import into pl_pokegra.narc with PokeDSPicPlatinum And that's where I get the 8bpp error. Unfortunately, right now I'm unable to, but later I can revise this post with videos and screenshots if it'll help. But going off the above, would anyone know what I'm doing wrong, and how I can fix it?
  16. Hi there. I was wondering how to extract some .garc files from a Pokémon X or Y ROM cause I wanted to use Kaphotics GARCUnpacker. So, what kind of tools do I need to get those files ? Could someone explain me the process to extract them, please ? I know about 3DSExplorer, rom_tool, but sadly nothing else.
  17. I tried to make an NPC that gives you a Tyrogue if you talk with him, the problem is I can't find a tutorial for this or any instructions for this specific type of script. I've looked into what NPCs in the game give you a pokemon, I found Amanita gives an Eevee, located her in Castelia City and found out she uses Script 988. I tried to look into script 988 but couldn't make out much of it. In the header it says there are 5 scripts, which is consistent with what NPRE says, but that's it, as NPRE shows 5 scripts and 28 function which I don't know what they do, and I can't pinpoint the exact part of the script responsible with giving the player a pokemon, as NPRE says it's Function 13 (I think?). It's one of the pictures. Meanwhile running scrparse.lua in desmume says there are 22 scripts in script file 988, as in one of the pictures. Can anyone help me? I really don't know what to make of this.
  18. Hi Somebody know where I can find Pokemon B2W2 Overworld sprites list? I am using NPC editor tool but I cant find EMOLGA's sprite :C I need to write some numbers to have a sprite that I want but sometimes is too difficult to find sprite that I want :C for example: sprite for Skitty is under these numbers - 4429 sprite for Klang is under these numbers - 4700 sprite for Emolga ??? Can't find it It will be nice to know all codes for sprites.
  19. I've been looking around and I can't find how to edit what comes out of an egg laid by a certain pokemon. For example, from an Illumise egg an Illumise or Volbeat can hatch. Does anyone know an editor that allows me to modify this or at least tell me where in the rom files can I find this piece of information? I can utilize hex editors and I think I have the tools needed to extract narcs and subnarcs from the rom. Any help would be appreciated.
  20. There is a r4 for 3ds that allows you to play ds games. If i load pkm white/black/2 on it and load some pokegenned pokemon on it, will i be able to transfer to pokemon bank? They will pass the legality checker. They will only be event pokemon that i downloaded off this site. I was just thinking so it would be easier to drag and drop to transfer pokemon.

  24. Crystal is my favourite game, and I particularly fancy modding it. However, I don't appear to be able to find a tool to edit the level up movesets. I have already started changing some types of Pokemon (Pidgey line to pure flying, Charizard to Dragon/Fire, Blastoise to Water/Steel), but it would be useful to have a tool to change the level up moves. Is anyone able to help out possibly?
  25. Okay so I know how to go into the files and get the .narc needed to change the trainer names, but how do I change the name that appears next to or below their mugshot? Obviously this only happens when you face gym leader, rivals, elite 4, etc. Just wondering how I can go about editing them. Thanks!
