Alright, thanks for the "guide." I'm correcting the algorithms in the program I'm working on (it was based on X-Act's code). Aside from that, why can't IVPID.exe figure out what the IVs are for that PID? -

Do you have a reasonable explanation for your assertion? Additionally, why can IVPID.exe not reconstruct the IVs from the PID (option 5 in the program)? -
Some PIDs generated by this applet aren't generated by pokesav, those same PIDs cannot be read by IVPID.exe, and when the IV PID combination is fed into legal.exe, it considers the pokemon hacked. Consider the PID 0454085950, generated by the IVs 20/20/20/20/20/20 with a nature of 0 (hardy).

I read this: http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/pid_iv_creation#finding_ability_from_pid and this: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/search.php?searchid=60203 However, I'd still like something explicitly clarified. If any pokemon has only one ability, it can fall under class 1 or 2, correct? Furthermore, how does the game treat pokemon like giratina, which can have abilities that change?

I don't quite remember how to determine which class abilities I should be putting on pokemon. For example, I'm working on a Giratina (not O forme) at the moment, so should the ability fall under class 1 or 2? Could someone add the ability information to the wiki?

Unfortunately, a combination of poor information and forgetting in part how trash bytes work led me to ask those questions. I forgot that not all pokemon have the special trash byte strings (which answers my first question). My second question was asked because I thought COM added trash byte support in pokesav DP (which I believe is true, from fiddling around just now with a kyogre).

Unfortunately, that link provides does not answer either of my questions about platinum trash bytes, so I'll have to take your word for it. Certainly, I can take the fact that there is nothing listed about platinum as some kind of admission that the trash byte stuff hasn't been publicly released. Additionally, I was there for the description of how trash bytes work when poryhack 'officially' discussed them here: http://forum.pokesav.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1130

Is the trash byte problem only for pal-parked pokemon? Does pokesav (platinum version) correctly create trash bytes for party pokemon?
