    EDIT: Nevermind, it works,

How do I change it to illegal mode?

Changing the name to 'PKHax' does not work. :(

If you wouldn't mind attaching that screenshot and the steps you took to get it to work I would appreciate it. It will serve as a reference that may help others in the future.

Also, I believe that on my end, I will have to change  PKHeX.exe to PKHaX.exe before I wrap it with winebottler.

Does that sound right @theSLAYER ?

When I try to apply the Winetricks this pops up every time?

Check out this link from WineHQ. It should help you with winetricks setup and is a great source for properly compiling Wine in general.

I have also followed this order and tried all the troubleshooting and it still does not work. I've tried to create my own with a .exe file and winebottler doesn't create the app, and if it does then it the app pops up for a few seconds and disappears. I'm a noob at using wine and winebottler but I'm following the instructions perfectly. Any more help?

You could open the exe in wine.

    Open wine.

    And then....

    IMG_0113.thumb.PNG.c2c869c87d56114f51ea885553862a58.PNG

    then...

    IMG_0114.PNG.d97af1eb0b22efabb30181a1b28c5694.PNG

    then...

    IMG_0115.PNG.5f89ff988c22ffb4cf36c7390abf4863.PNG

finally, right click the exe - Open with... -wine.

Dialogue will ask "what would you like to do with it". You tick "run directly in" and from the drop down menu select this path: /Users/USERNAME/.wine

or this path if you have it: /Users/USERNAME/Wine Files

I rewrap in wine bottler and tick self-contained and also restart Mac, but it still bounced and disappear.

    A few more suggestions...

close wine if it's running, and run your wrapped app again...

skip winebottler, and run the .exe directly in wine...

Or you could try the app I wrapped. The link is in the first post.

I follow this order. but after the running of wine bottler , i click the icon it create, then it appear then disappear, and nothing happen.

    I have installed X11.

How can i fix it? My system is OS 10.11.6

Try restart your Mac. Then try to run it.  If that doesn't work rewrap in winebottler but this time tick the "self-contained" box in addition to the other settings shown in the screenshot.

PKhex fails to run under wine, and .net 4.6 fails to install on wine. If you would fix this, I would be grateful.

If you want to use PKHeX on an operating system other than Windows, you must take it upon yourself to find a way to  execute that.

There are two different ways that I préfère, Wine or Winebottler.

Wine will run PKHeX.exe 17.02.07.    Winebottler will wrap PKHeX 17.02.07.

Using the Wine application, you must access the menu. Then you must select Winetricks. Then tick "dotnet46" and tick silent install and then select apply. Be patient as it applies the Winetricks, it could take a minute or less.   Doing that will incorporate .NET Framework 4.6 into Wine when you run an executable.

I'll assume you know how to launch the .exe with Wine, so I'll leave it at that.

I'll attach some screenshots to assist you.

Sure. Wrap the exe using these configurations ...IMG_0068.thumb.PNG.5073f98abd607eeff26ca4bb9fcd58b2.PNG

So I downloaded the latest version, and opened it the usual way,but all it does is bounce in the dock for a few minutes, then stop responding. Tried it 10 times now with no success

i saw that you had posted previously that you had Wine running and that caused the pkhex.app to not work for you. Could that be the same in this case?

I recorded the process i go through. The first part is me installing X11 and the second is me trying to run pkhex.

I cannot watch your screencast - "We're sorry! We were unable to locate the requested page." is what the link says.

    Go here download and install.

grab the latest pkhex.exe from here

    Extract the .zip

right click the pkhex.exe. select open with

You need to click [select file...] and target the pkhex.exe you downloaded.

Copy everything else that i have ticked and then click [Install]

Next a dialogue will pop up. Give the app a name and click ok.

Lastly, just wait for a few while it wraps.

I installed X11 and that didn't help, now i'm trying to use Wine Devel to run the .exe file but i need .net framework and i dont know how to port that over to mac using Wine Devel. I really appreciate all the help but if I become too bothersome don't worry about it

Did you run the pkhex.app or the pkhex.exe after you installed X11?

You should use the pkhex.app after X11.

Dont bother using winestaging/wine devel  to run the .exe

It appears when I load my save file, which I've been using previously without an error message on previous updates. It also appears when i try to click on the 9 tabs like "trainer info" i cant edit any of it, the error appears and wont open the tab...

do i need to have wine running while i use the app?

Download the update 170207 at the top of the page. Give it a chance.

It didn't work with me due to Wine, I uninstalled Wine and it just bounces for a few seconds, then closes. Anytime I try to run PkHex it just closes after bouncing for half a second. Any suggestions?

do you have X11 installed? You should keep Wine incase you decide to use Winebottler if all else fails. Its very easy to use.

Something that happened to me, was that I downloaded the zip but it kept bouncing for around 2 to 3 seconds every time I tried to open it. I put it on the Dock and it kept happening. I redownloaded it, deleted the old one, and repeated, but I get the same problem. I closed Wine and even deleted it but it still keeps bouncing after several restarts and shut downs as well. Please help!

Do you have X11 installed along with wine and winebottler?

Wondering which way did you delete wine?

Try using winebottler to make the app.

First of all thank you so much for this!! <3

I've downloaded it and when I open it, it bounces for about 10 seconds and then stop and doesn't open. Do you know what may be causing this?

After it bounces and stops usually takes it a few to open. Do you get any feed back or errors.   I built it containing wine bundle so user shouldn't have to have wine to run it.

If you have wine or anything else wine related running, close it.

Or delete the app and download the zip again

Alternatively, try using Winebottler to build pkhex.

@jasenyoface strange, it worked the way i described on all previous updates

your .zip has been working fine up to now, importing / exporting sets has worked a treat, suddenly the import function now brings up this error (see attached .rtf)

this has happened with previous builds, usually restarting the software solves the issue, in this instance it has not, i've tried restarting the whole machine and the problem is persisting

    exporting sets still functional

**EDIT, weirdly it is only giving me the error when I try to import a Greninja set? All other Pokemon I am attempting to import work fine — editing the set to be a Froakie and then manually changing to Greninja worked

@Kaphotics do certain Pokemon have problems being imported?

    import set error.rtf

    Look here  Here

when a new .zip is added with updates, I can make an updated pkhex.app

tested, works great, thanks @jasenyoface and of course @Kaphotics, you total dons, you did prof oak a proud

only issue, which was present in my own wine package of the most recent update (unless there's been another in last day or so, haven't checked) is PKHeX no longer auto detects the most recent save file from SD card

not sure if this is something to do with my personal computer set up or the software on the whole, worth noting though

I have alway had to navigate to my save file. So I'm not sure about that function using Wine.

Quick question: I downloaded from your link and the file automatically unzipped. I click open, and it bounces on the dock then nothing happens.Has done this 4 times now. When I click it it says "application not responding" greyed out

    Any ideas?

Does it stop bouncing at any point?

if not, it may take some time as it did for @Are You 18 Now He said it took a while to launch.

To answer your question from the previous thread, don't use the mono version of pkhex.zip to build in Winebottler

  20. PKHeX for Mac
    Made with Wineskin
    pkmac.png

Welcome to PKHeX for Mac Discussion thread! Please post here if you need help or are experiencing issues related to this Wineskin wrapper, and use the PKHeX Support forum for issues related to the program.

This is a Mac App that was made using Wineskin; it is not a port of PKHeX onto the Mac operating system. With Wineskin, we can recreate an environment where executable files will launch on Mac. As far as what is known, all features in the original program work in this wrapper. There are a few differences though. PKHeX for Mac is styled with MacOS. Also, the app's icon is different from the original PKHeX program to better fit in with the theme of the app.
